Homo sapiens and Equus sapiens are quite populous, as are various species of edible fish raised as livestock. Canis familiaris is the most common non-sapient animal not raised as livestock.

Our national animal is the Mayahuel Eagle, so named because it feeds on the water within the Great Mayahuel Cactus, a gigantic cactus larger than the saguaro that grows solitary in our cold, mountainous deserts. This eagle developed a symbiotic relationship with the cactus by eating serpents which burrow inside their trunks and eat their fruit. Our national emblem depicts this very scene as a metaphor for the proletariat destroying the nobility and bourgeoisie and securing the sweet fruit of prosperity and liberty.

The Eagle has also been tamed by the people over thousands of years, and has been used as a sort of beast of burden in the harvesting of the Mayahuel fruit, which is a milky white bulb streaked with maroon, and filled with a soft jelly that is sweet and rich beyond measure. This is a major export, as it is only available in a small seasonal window, and no more is harvested than the cactus population can take. The fruit is also fermented to make a wine, which was considered holy in Imperial times.

Cats are well loved by our people. Especially black cats, which are considered to herald extremely good luck. This belief stems from the old pantheon of gods which the people once worshiped. It was said that the goddess of prosperity led an army of cats into battle against the god of pestilence and his army of rats. It was said that cats today have loyalty still to the goddess' army, and that black cats were officers and generals in that army. Though this belief specifically has fallen out of favour in our Communist atheistic society, cats still receive from Xolalans an instinctive affection.

We shall start with national animal the Nician wildcat (Felis silvestris niciae), it is a medium sized cat approximately twice the size of a domesticated cat. It prefers lightly forested areas and plains with rivers as its habitat. Its diet is that of an obligate carnivore and it mostly hunts small game like rabbits and moles. The most common fur patten is plain black although striped variants exist. The wild cat is noted for its cantankerous nature but it is possible to tame them. This the animal is depicted on our flag as we used its DNA when we created the GEMs it is from them that we derive our feline characteristics.

The next animal is the Chocobo (Aepyornis maximus domesticus) is a large flightless bird weighing approximately 400 kg and standing 2.5 m tall at the shoulder. It is native to grasslands and savanna areas. its diet is herbivorous favoring omnivore and it mainly eats seeds and small insects like meal-worms although it has been observed to eat carrion when other food supplies are unavailable. This animal is our primary riding animal and racing them is a popular sport.

by Asena
Our kingdom consists of scattered hills and valleys which give way to two beautiful, sparkling seas. The entire landscape is draped in lush forests which are as old as time itself. Two imposing mountain ranges to the east and west of the kingdom serve to isolate Asena from the rest of the world. Asena's forests are home to humans, elk, caribou, rabbits, wild turkeys, pheasants, wild boar, kiwis, peafowl, ducks, foxes, coyotes, wild dogs, and wolves. The wolf is the national animal of Asena and is considered sacred by the state religion, as we believe that our people are directly descended from wolves. The seas on either side of Asena are inhabited by a variety of colorful fish, however little effort has been put into identifying the different species. The most popular fish are assumed to be bluegill and some form of salmon. The consumption of meat by people is frowned upon to such an extent that only a handful of stores offer meat products. Asenians have a deep-seated respect for and as a part of nature. As such, hunting for sport is illegal and socially unacceptable, however hunting animals for food is permitted (though uncommon).

We kinda don't have talking horses. And the ones that do, are immediately skinned and sold to many traders for money.

Anyways, our islands give a huge array of species, from panthers to crocodiles, from ocelots to howler monkeys. Our ocean also has whales, sharks, and obviously, a gigantic array of fish.

All of the animals were poisoned to death by either highly salinated water or massive amounts of smog, smoke and other byproducts of fossil fuel based industry.

Luckily, we're cleaning that up and importing new ones.

Currently, we have imported the following animals.

Red Fox
Grey Wolf
Coyote
European Rabbit
Various Squirrels
Various Rodents
Various Songbirds
Eagles
Hawks
Vultures
Brown Bears
Black Bears
Various Deer
Various Mongooses
A Lot of Fish

We are working on gathering the other animals of the world at the moment, although we have to hold off until we have reclaimed enough territory to comfortable store them all.

Dracoria is home to many varied species, in particular birds and arthropods with a modest number of native rodents, amphibians and squamates. A number of animals originally domesticated have been released by accident, as well. A recent poll has found the average Dracorian has tasted roughly a third of them in various dishes.

Our national animal is Blue Temple Viper(s) (yes they're protected) the rest are already extinct for genetic and other "legal" research (finger crossed), but we're currently populating our country again with genetically enhanced hybrid animals like combining bats and lizards to create our own dragons.
