Is your nation developed, or under-developed?: Developed
What is the percentage of citizens living in poverty in your nation?: 11.5%
What would a poor neighborhood look like?: Varies significantly, as there are large differences between rural and urban poverty. Urban poor areas are difficult to discern, as they in many ways look similar to the rest of the largely uniform cities. A greater amount of homeless people, somewhat dilapidated tenement structures and 'ghost neighbourhoods' (neighbourhoods where less than half of the housing units are occupied) are common. Rural poor areas tend to consist of clusters of badly maintained houses, or villages with a significant amount of unemployment and underemployment, with poor heating, a lack of proper telecommunications networks and badly maintained roads.
Is there welfare or something similar in your nation?: Yes, although has been cut enormously in the past year.
If the question above is answered with a yes, how many citizens are on welfare?: Around a fifth of the population had their primary source on income from various sources of welfare, while around two thirds of households receive some kind of government benefit.
What is the typical health of a poor citizen?: Poor.
What is a common problem in poor parts of your nation?: Unemployment, poor health, poorly maintained buildings, homelessness, crime, drug abuse, alcoholism and broken families.

A state housing complex is a well maintained apartment building of single bedroom apartments that are provided free of charge to all citizens.

Is there welfare or something similar in your nation?:
Yes, a state housing apartment, basic utilities, food , clothing along with first class education and healthcare are basic entitlements of every citizen of the republic. There is also a small cash allowance for citizens who pursue further education.

If the question above is answered with a yes, how many citizens are on welfare?:
Less than 1%

What is the typical health of a poor citizen?:
Excellent.

What is a common problem in poor parts of your nation?:
Getting to classes on time so that they can get a job.

Is your nation developed, or under-developed?: Yukue is a developed nation.
What is the percentage of citizens living in poverty in your nation?: Zero.
What would a poor neighborhood look like?:(You can use a photo, but you can describe it in words if you want to) Approximately the same as a neighborhood of some other class of wealth.
Is there welfare or something similar in your nation?: Very extensive welfare programs exist in Yukue, having narrowed wealth gaps to menial amounts of Yukuan Drupes. To achieve as ideal equal result as possible, there exists no percentage-based taxation or welfare. There are specific amounts of money being taken from and given to specific amounts of money to maintain a internationally acknowledged model for a middle class to stay as the sole class of wealth.
If the question above is answered with a yes, how many citizens are on welfare?: In the end, everyone is, even if the amount of money received is small.
What is the typical health of a poor citizen?: The poorest Yukuans, which doesn't say much at all in itself, have approximately the same good health as everyone else.
What is a common problem in poor parts of your nation?: The problems that exist in Yukue are more or less the same nationwide and aren't affected by being slightly less wealthy than average middle class that the Yukuan 'lower class' or 'poor people' are.

Is your nation developed, or under-developed?: Our overview states that our economy is "Powerhouse" But from my RP perspective (OOC intended), Dontaria is between developed and under-developed. But mostly under-developed.

This is not a poor neighborhood. In fact, every Dontarian city looks like this.

CANON UPDATE (OOC):
I have given this a lot of thought and I have decided to do some major changes to the Walosian History Canon.

The largest change that I will be doing is the removal of the “Walosian-Khelsharian War of 2009” and the following abdication of Empress Liat as well as the removal of the character Liat completely. The reason why is because I have developed my nation into a more realistic fashion during the 2014-2015 era and after reviewing older post I see that the war and abdication of Liat is both unrealistic, doesn’t fit with the overall nation and is simply unprofessional.

One of the most impoverished areas in Taoju is Nanjia's Chinatown. Not only does it have the highest degree of wealth disparity, it is a hive of organized crime as well as corporate corruption.
Is there welfare or something similar in your nation?: Yes. Communal governments regulate the communities' welfare in addition to the federal level. However poorer communities will receive welfare largely from the federal government due to their circumstance.
If the question above is answered with a yes, how many citizens are on welfare?: Under 3% federally due to strict government and private incentives being available for the people. In communal areas this may reach up to 60% of that particular community's population.
What is the typical health of a poor citizen?: Relatively healthy. Complications like cancer or kidney failure are curable within the means of a poor citizen in Taoju.
What is a common problem in poor parts of your nation?: Criminal activity like drug smuggling and other organized crime is more prevalent within such areas, however it is worth mentioning some criminal organizations combat civilian poverty within these areas better than the government or community itself.

  • Is your nation developed, or under-developed?
    Developed
  • What is the percentage of citizens living in poverty in your nation?
Beiluxia had an official poverty rate of 12.9% in the 2010 Government Census.
  • What would a poor neighborhood look like?
Satellite towns typically contain working-class neighbourhoods and estates like the one below.
    Image
  • Is there welfare or something similar in your nation?
Both federal and provinsial governments have programmes for lower-income and underprivileged individuals. Along with universal health-care for all, the impoverished also receive a pension scheme, colloquially known as "benefits". Lower-income brackets also get priority in government-subsidised housing projects.
  • If the question above is answered with a yes, how many citizens are on welfare?
Since each provinse and sometimes individual municipalities have their own schemes, it's hard to precisely calculate the number of people on welfare. Almost half of all Beiluxians live in some form of government-subsidised housing due to their lower income, but many of them don't receive other forms of welfare or "benefits". A guesstimate would be about 20% of Beiluxians receiving welfare.
  • What is the typical health of a poor citizen?
Despite universal health-care, the wealthy tend to be healthier than the poor due to access to specialised private healthcare This discrepancy in treatment may have more to do with the fact that the poor are less likely to go to clinics (no car, can't pay for transport, more likely to be disabled or elderly, etc.) than a noticeable difference in the quality of care between private and public healthcare.
  • What is a common problem in poor parts of your nation?
Some critics accuse the Government of purposely creating isolated satellite towns in the hopes of dumping poor people away from more prosperous areas in the city. Indeed, many "new towns", as they are known, are mainly filled with government-subsidised housing, and so experience a much higher level of poverty than the national average. However, such urban planning has nonetheless worked for the last half century; studies show new towns with mainly poor people only have slightly higher crime rates than new towns with mainly rich developments. Also, most new towns are developed in cooperation with the private sector so that it will attract people of different socio-economic backgrounds.

Is your nation developed, or under-developed?: The European part of the Empire is very developed, in fact, villages became so rare they became a turistic attraction; The African part is also developed, but the giant migrations to cities like Cairo or Tunis have begun happening only in the 1950th, so we still have some problems there; The Asian part of the United Empire, Indochina, Brunei and new Guinea all have major problems with poverty and most of the important cities have giant barackopolis(es), so it would be under-developed.
What is the percentage of citizens living in poverty in your nation?: 69% in the Entire Empire, Europe 1.6%
What would a poor neighborhood look like?:(You can use a photo, but you can describe it in words if you want to) Well, it depends; In europe a poor neighborhood would be made up of tall buildings with 4 or 5 floors, no elevator, outside there would be some benches, although made 20 years ago of wood and the people's flats would have one bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, a place to eat and a small hall at the entrance/exit.
Is there welfare or something similar in your nation?:Of course, we are a democratic-socialist country, so I find it normal that we take care of all our citizen.
If the question above is answered with a yes, how many citizens are on welfare?: 49% (asia and some african parts of the empire do not have access to such things)
What is the typical health of a poor citizen?:Europe/Africa: They live up to 65-70 years, they are mostly healty until they reach 40-45-50, then they begin to have mostly minor problems.Africa/asia: 35-40 years, they begin to have health problems very early in their life, as early as 12, that is, if they survive until then.
What is a common problem in poor parts of your nation?: Europe/Africa: They sometimes have to pay their taxes lately, they sometimes cannot buy common things such as furniture for their flats. Africa/Asia: No food, no shelter, way too much working hours and too much smoke where they live.

Is your nation developed, or under-developed?: Developed.
What is the percentage of citizens living in poverty in your nation?: Absolute poverty has been completely eliminated in Athande. Relative poverty still exists, but is consistently decreasing.
What would a poor neighborhood look like?: Poorer areas generally feature large numbers of high- and low-rise apartments made of reinforced concrete. These apartments tend to be painted in bright colours or covered in murals (often depicting revolutionary feats from history). Even the poorer areas have large amounts of greenery (streets lined with trees, nearby parks and community gardens, etc).
Is there welfare or something similar in your nation?: Of course, each adult is entitled to a basic minimum standard of living as well as free healthcare, tertiary-level education or training programs, sustenance, housing and use of public transportation.
If the question above is answered with a yes, how many citizens are on welfare?: Almost all of them.
What is the typical health of a poor citizen?: Still pretty good; great progress has been made on reducing the lower life expectancies and higher occurence of various health problems seen in poorer people (relative to richer people) - mainly by going after the source of the problem, i.e poverty but also through various public health campaigns and awareness programs.
What is a common problem in poor parts of your nation?: Crime, while on a much lower level in absolute terms to most remaining capitalist countries, is still more prevalent in poorer areas. Higher suicide rates, more cases of drug addiction, lower educational attainment and more cases of mental illness are also problems although all these problems are declining.
