7NA Reverts Intentions due to Novagorod Becoming Independent; Red Cross Exterminated

OLBAT - The recent independence of The Community of Novagorod led the Seven Nation Army to rethink and revert it's actions. Mandzij issued a formal letter of apology, stating that, recognizing Askerikean, SdKfz 186ian, Bastionian and Baltic territories in the now dissolved Pushkinskaya, the 7NA would not venture into these territories. Zarkov will not not be protected as his job of liberating the Pushkinskayan lands has taken a slightly different route and Pushkinskaya has been completely sold. No troops will touch the former Pushkinskayan lands nor even get close to Novagorod.

As for the Red Cross...

Of 2,000 refugees in a run down hotel, 1,500 have disappeared. The manager, Laup Anigabasesur, has managed to bribe the Bratva with alcohol and cigars enough as to keep them alive. Aboveland is pleading for permission to Askerike, sdKfz 186, Bastionia and Baltica to allow only one small aircraft with peace advocates (among them Ulrika Savka) to cross their airspace into Novagorod, completely unarmed, to try to come to an agreement with the Bratva to allow the Red Cross and Anigabasesur, along with his refugees, to be granted a safe escape out of the city-state. The families in the hotel are in the process of being granted asylum to nations around the Nordic Lands. Aboveland also asks Novagorod to allow these advocates into their city-state and assures them that, if all goes well, the Red Cross and all refugees could be clear of the nation in less than 48 hours. The whole operation must be carried out quickly, though, and the Abovians must depart today.

We have received intel that, after the video, Zarkov killed himself with the same rifle he used to kill Don Kashka.

The Parliament Has Voted: Constitution Reforming Legislation Passed

VILIKAREV - Today, the Parliament has voted to reform the Constitution, in order to eliminate capital punishment in all cases. The voting, as the Constitution establishes was hand-raised, and the legislation was passed with a total of 63% of the senators voted for and 37% against. Matysh Graniliev, one of the Head Senators, voted for.
The Constitution was reformed successfully and now death sentence was replaced by life-time imprisonment.

Different faces, different ways

After the crippling death of Don Alexander Marki, the Bratva was left leaderless, with the remaining Dons bickering and fighting among themselves over who would take over the Bratva and continue their legacy. It didn't take long for the smarter among them to take advantage of the situation.
Lanius Falkner immediatly ordered his security forces to open fire on all armed civilians on the streets of Novagorod, all surrendered hostiles would be sent to the labor camps to serve in slavery, and everyone who complies will be rewarded with the right to retain his life.

All current Bratva family members that couldn't get out of the city in time were imprisoned and not given the choice of slavery, instead in order to set an example, Lanius had them all crucified on Novagorod's square in full view of the major slave pens completely crushing any chance of riot or uprising.

Farshonia declare state of emergency, storm begin to decline.

Flood has ravage 3 days ago and now Farshonia declare state of emergency and Farshonian Army and volunteer help to evacuate many residents as they can to an area where the elevation is high. Many villages near the rivers are almost submerged and crops are destroyed by flash floods. The flow of the water is fast like a tsunami which it can wreak havoc things it hits.

Storm in Southeast Farshonia begin to decline and break up but the rains will never stop until it will further weaken many days later.

[Captain Picard of the USS Enterprise]

The Enterprise today welcomed the return of Commander William Riker from discussions in the city-state of Novagorod, where large portions of the former territory of Pushkinskaya were sold off to other governments. Captain Picard hailed the Commander's efforts to obtain the best and most sustainable deal for the civilians living in the former pushkinskaya territories. The Captain stated his hope that the new governance in these regions is stable and effective, and that the Enterprise would offer any support that was needed.

It is with regret that Captain Picard officially announced the Enterprise's decision not to enter the newly formed Nordic Economic Centre. He did, however, appoint Lt Commander La Forge as official Enterprise envoy to the NEC. It is the Enterprise's desire to foster close links with the nations that decide to join this great project, and Lt Commander La Forge will work hard to achieve this. Perhaps, as the organisation grows and becomes stable the Enterprise may consider membership.

Aftermath of mighty flood that ravages southeast and central Farshonia. Farshonia change its "old orthodox" flag.


Flash floods is now stopped except Kaunas but populated areas near the rivers are almost destroyed. The roads are dirty because of mud and other debris. Flooded areas have no electricity for 5 weeks while many people are left homeless. Crops are destroyed near the rivers which it could cause a famine. Because of this, Farshonian Army and volunteers help to give relief goods to those who are affected. The flood deals a moderate blow to the Farshonian economy because 40% of its sector is from agriculture.


"The old flag of Farshonia is used since Farshonian Empire rise and fall but since its modern era, we cant use a medieval-like flag again" said by Prime Minister Bernard Austerlitz to change the flag. The Farshonian parliament voted to change its old flag to a new tricoloured flag and legislation was passed. 98% voted for and 2% voted against. Now the flag was officially change.

Bienvian Space Project Starts Building Up

18th July 2014
VILIKAREV - It has been confirmed that the BNSA, Bienvian National Space Agency, has been founded, to start researching about outer space.
For now, scientists in the nation have been doing theoretic work, about surrounding asteroids to earth, astronomical bodies' movements and the possibility of mankind to go further than the Moon. But, with the foundation of the BNSA, a new project appeared: satellites.
The last Bienvian satellite was set on 1952, during the Second Kuszian Revolution under mandate of Roman I, the dictatorial king. After democracy was restablished, Bienvia had to overcome many problems related to the past communism, and the subject was never given much importance until now.
The past weeks, scientists within the nation started building a simple satellite, to test changes in the atmosphere. The project was successful and the satellite, called Nümbenin 1, was put on orbit. It was equipped with a high resolution camera, and it took some pictures from space.
According to Jonas Svanberg, the BNSA director, the Nümbenin 1 is just the beginning of a new age for outer space exploration for Bienvia.

At this time, the Government of Camerania is discussing the possibility of our nation joining the Nordic Economic Centre. Our government very much values the tenets of equality, sovereignty and rule by the people, to serve the people. It is these tenets that leads us to be initially cautious of joining and organization such as this, because it can often mean sacrificing our sovereignty to the point that our people's voices are not heard. Until it can be ensured that Camerania's democratic and sovereign values will not be harmed by the joining of this organization, we will be having serious discussions among our government and our citizens to work out the potential details of joining the Nordic Economic Centre. In the meanwhile, our government is also willing to enter negotiations, in order to bring netter information to our people, prior to holding a referendum on the matter.

Talvela Crowned NRC 2014 Summer Season Winner; ASA Aiming for the Moon

TETRISLOP - The glory of an automaker, a driver and a nation merged yesterday when Abovians Terho Talvela and Edvin Pekkanen won the first ever Nordic Rally Championship title ever awarded. Every Abovian cheered and cheered as homegrown drivers and cars won a region-wide competition.

Talvela was interviewed by AVMG Aboveland alongside his co-driver, Pekkanen. Although the whole text was lost in a windstorm, here are some bits rescued from the memories of the reporters:

Talvela and Pekkanen both said they were elated and completely amazed at all they did. They said the team had worked unfathomably hard throughout the whole season and that it paid off completely.

The NRC is set to continue soon.

MEDILE-NORT - Although Aboveland was beat to the moon, the ASA has said that they will continue reaching for the moon and that they will now begin developing an interplanetary vessel. All vessels are destined to be economical, since the ASA has now cut off it's government funding, forcing them to earn a profit by performing experimental tests for companies. This gives them extra science to be able to develop more complex parts, a better reputation amongst the populace and more funds for even bigger spacecraft.

ASA Missions Troubled, One Failed and Another Success

MEDILE-NORT - The ASA, striving to get to the moon, managed to dig out an old rocket forgotten in time (Cosmo, made it to the moon at least twice) and send it to orbit.

On it's way to the moon and looking good in terms of fuel, it began to turn towards the satellite and throttled up 100%. On the way, a malfunction unknown to the team at Medile-nort caused the craft to lose control while throttled up. Everything seemed to have been working fine until that point. Nothing was asymmetrical, all tanks had an equal amount of fuel and all engines worked properly. Unfortunately, pilot Jebediah Kerman had to haul the craft back to Earth, with the thought of having wasted over 100 thousand zepps in a failure with no outcome at all.

Jebediah Kerman was interviewed. He was quoted saying it was a big failure and a big disappointment, but that next missions are "sure to be successful!"

Hopes still down, ASA decided to develop a small, pre-fab satellite. In less than three hours, it was ready to launch.

The satellite made it very far up. However, being a budget probe, SAT-01 had no RCS and turning with the mainsail was difficult. It had to be ditched, and fuel had to be wasted.

The goal of the SAT-01 mission was to take a quantity of temperature scans. It succeeded in it's purpose. However, when the ASA decided to bring it back home, they noticed parachutes hadn't been attached, since the probe was actually designed to not return. Science booked, it splashed down in the pacific ocean 5 hours later.

A troubled journey is getting worse for the ASA. Nevertheless, the team are confident a moon landing will come soon.

What happened to Novagorod?

Contrary to popular belief, the landscape of former Pushkinskaya, while reconstructed to a major extent, is still a barren place that sustains life only in a few secluded places, the radiation from the "Reich's cataclysm", as the nuclear event was called, is still very strong and young. Massive ruined cities still exist filled with encampments from the survivors who were organized into the now dissolved Council of Houses, most of the landscape is a burned up desert consumed by nuclear fire and picked clean by the greed of men during the period of the exclusion zone.


At that time Pushkinskaya became a land of the extremes, with a tribal village living right alongside the entrance to massive advanced laboratories created by the former Reich, where ideologies of all kinds could flourish being rivaled only by their extreme opposites at another distant encampment. Around this time, Novagorod was rebuilt by a colective of survivor traders, calling themselves the Hansa, and soon became a trade hub in the Zone, clearly going to become the most advanced city in the middle of a violent and unforgiving place. But then came the Monolith, mysterious fanatics following some sort of crazy cult from the east, their armies numbered in the millions and soon the Exclusion Zone was completely washed in red with the blood of the non-believers.


At this time, Bastionian and Baltic forces deployed in the North devised a plan that would completely destroy the influence of the Monolith hordes, an attack against their main base located in Laboratory X-18, the loss of life that followed the assault was compensated when a infiltration team successfully entered X-18 and disabled the device that controled Monolith forces inside, sadly the mercenary guide that went with them killed all the operatives and stole the documents regarding Monolith research and creation methods. The Mercenary, a man only known as "Burner" escaped and to this day is still missing.

After the Monolith threat was over the Bastionian and Baltic forces kickstarted a process of rebuilding, while the northern sector was secured, the rest of the country was still a wasteland filled with warring scavenger tribes and villages. And thus was created and organized the first post-cataclysm government, the Council of Houses, a democratic government ensured that the issues of all the inhabitants would be addressed and a consensus would be reached in all matters, Novagorod being the most advanced "ruin" at the time was selected as capital and most of it's urban areas were rebuilt, there were a few unhappy citizens and one insurgency during this time, but nothing that would threathen stability.

And then the Farshonian invasion happened, driven by the ambition to gain more lands the communist regime of Farshonia invaded Pushkinskaya through the east and completely destroyed the kshatryian army in a battle around Laboratory X-18, while Bastionian and Baltic forces where already turning the tides of war against the Farshonians, the commanding officer in Laboratory X-18 deemed the contents of the facility too dangerous to be allowed into Farshonian hands and thus made the decision to detonate a nuclear warhead stored inside the facility. The resulting explosion crippled an already failing Farshonian war effort and they eventually retreated and peace was once again restored to Pushkinskaya.

This peace however came with a price, without an army to protect them the Council of Houses fell prey to the criminal underworld of Pushkinskaya, The Bratva, direct descendents to criminal clans from the Exclusion Zone used this opportunity to take control of the country and create a ruling body where only the Bratva Leaders had a say in anything and their words were the law, this led into a new economic boom to the city of Novagorod, with markets like slavery, drugs and weapons once again becoming widespread and incredibly profitable.

While Novagorod flourished into a golden age, the rest of Pushkinskaya were no more than the source of slaves and production facilities and soon the Bratva didn't see any value to these lands, what they decide to do was sell the lands aswell as their inhabitants to other slave trading factions of the region. Thus transforming Novagorod into a powerfull city-state.

It was around this time that one of the criminal lords of Novagorod created a scheme to destroy the other criminal families in Nova, a then the reign of Lanius Falkner started, after deploying trained troops to the streets of Novagorod completely taking control of the area, Lanius had all of the surviving members of the other families crucified in town square, after that he declared that Novagorod had to be completely rebuilt and turned into a paradise where men could live without worries and enjoy life the way it is supposed to be. But for that Lanius had a plan, he enslaved the entire population of Nova turning the military into masters, and sarted forcing them into rebuildin his dream city, unsubordinate slaves would be sold or killed as well as the weak and sick. Lanius walled off the entire area of Novagorod not allowing nobody else in, all trade dealings happen outside with the Legionaries(Military) and a foreigner can only as much as look at the massive walls that separate Novagorod with the rest of the world and hear the sound of heavy machinery and the screams and sobs of the working slaves inside. The smoke from the city can be seen from miles and the sky around it is completely covered by dust and burnt trash from the stags.

Lanius promised that all of this suffering would pay off, when Novagorod was complete and everyone would be free to enjoy it the way it was meant to be, a utopia among flawed governments. So horrible is the general feeling of being around Novagorod that some travellers have taken to calling the place "The Pitt of Sorrow" or simply "The Pitt".

President Magnussen Halts Neurax Worm Research, Political Fringe Group Gains Popularity, and Vulkanas Refuses to Join the NEC

Our top story today is that President Magnussen himself has called for all research into the Neurax Worm to halt, reports say. In a short interview with AVMG Vulkanas, he said this:

After a visit to Monograd, I have made the decision to halt Neurax Worm research and keep the worm and all specimens harbouring a worm under lock and key. The Neurax Worm is obviously a very powerful and potentially dangerous being, and continuation of research into it will only increase risk.

Many citizens have voiced their opinions about this, claiming that Magnussen has made a bad decision and has halted scientific progress in Vulkanas. Professor Johan Væntula of the University of Monograd said on Tweeter earlier today that "The Neurax Worm was at no risk of contaminating humans or causing an outbreak. Why did Magnussen stop research!?" Magnussen is yet to make a comment on these claims, though this certainly has not helped his popularity.

Perhaps as a result of this the "DO IT NOW AND DO IT LOUD!" Political Fringe group has recently shot up in popularity. Their ideology is to "act now and think about it later" as put by their leader Petter Cortex. They are based around acting on issues immediately but keeping true to a leftist ideology at the same time. Their main criticism is that those two qualities cannot go together, though evidence against this is yet to be seen. This may or may not have an effect on the elections, as those are in 2 years.

Magnussen also made a statement in which he refused to have Vulkanas join the NEC. The Nordic Economic Centre, founded in Bienvia, is an economic union which, though it does not use a single currency, encourages trade, commerce, and diplomacy between the nations in the union. Magnussen has made a surprisingly right-wing decision by not joining this union, and has faced the consequences on social media. "Do it now and do it loud" were quick to make a statement on this, in which they claimed that "Magnussen is becoming more and more authoritarian", and that "he needs to be stopped". No action has been taken - yet.

Mandzij Expresses Concern Over Mangussen; Flag Change

AYARII - Mandzij has shown no signs of being worried at all, and he isn't, nor does he have a reason to. Nevertheless, upon hearing Vulkanas' decisions to halt research amongst other things he seems to notice something different in Mangussen, an attitude never seen in him by Mandzij. The Abovian President invited him to a meeting this week in Ayarii, to discuss his sudden change of policy. Mandzij said the following words in a brief speech:

"Ever since Aboveland was liberated, Vulkanas has reached out to us to help in any of our moments in need. Our alliance is the strongest in the region, and possibly in the world. Aboveland and Vulkanas will help each other no matter what. And when I say no matter what, Mangussen will be respected, protected and helped by us, him and his nation. Regardless of anything anti-government supporters say or do, we will support him and Vulkanas as a whole. When Aboveland makes an alliance, we mean it. None of our closest allies, neither Vulkanas, Bienvia, the Union and such, will ever slip out of our grasp, our tight, supportive hand.

AYARII - Another headline was that Aboveland's flag has changed once again. Mandzij and the populace were uneasy after the traditional cross had been ditched. Mandzij then, with the help of vexilologists, designed a flag that incorporates the nordic cross, yet with a twist and leaving no elements out, except for the green (which was not representative of any Abovian values or eras/occurrences.

NEC Negotiations: When And Where?

24th July 2014
VILIKAREV - After many nations left unconfirmed their membership to the newly formed NEC, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have come to a solution: negotiations.
We are formally inviting all the nations which are part of the NEC, the ones which haven't confirmed yet, the ones which are in doubt and the ones which have completely said "NO" to this request. Every nation can send an ambassador, a minister, etc, to Vilikarev, Antrobølf province to start negotiations.
Out of this meeting many nations will probably know/confirm if they should or not join this union. Every nation in the region is invited, and not only to potentially join the alliance, but to discuss the utility of it and its purposes. Everyone -the Vulkaans, the Abovians, the Unioners, the Cameranians, the Mienskians, the Askerikeans, the Baltics, the Bastonians, all- have the right to come.

OOC: The meeting will be made when enough people confirms it, not before, not after.

Mangussen Crippled and Sent to Vulkanas, Likely to be Neurax Worm Host

AYARII - Vulkaan President Mangussen was sent out on an emergency Arcticair flight yesterday from Ayarii International Airport. His meeting with Mænsïj lasted only 20 minutes, before he began to feel a severe headache, experience heavy sweating and violent coughing. He was transported in an ambulance to the airport and placed on a flight back to Monograd.
With a small, portable x-ray scanner on board the ambulance, his brain was observed. The X-ray revealed a small shape on the top of his brain. Doctors fear it might be the Neurax Worm. For this reason, he was transported to Monograd, to have him scanned, tested and treated. A dark feeling swept over Aboveland yesterday. The Neurax Worm is extremely dangerous and very easy to transmit amongst hosts.

The monarchy is restored after Juozapas dissolved the previous communist government but the Lithuanians and Farshonians are unhappy. Why? High taxes, Farshonians wants a republic not a monarchy, Lithuanians wants to become free from Farshonian rule and still not happy of their autonomy and the fall of Farshonian economy after the Southeast Farshonian Storm which no foreign countries help to recover the affected.

Caesar Lanius expressed his intentions to have knowledge of all activities happening around the region, and as such he shall be sending a representative of Novagorod, Legati Yerik shall be present during the talks, while their intentions for the moments is to see what this pact is all about, Caesar Lanius expressed that their economic focus is simply not "compatible" with what the NEC stands for.

Magnussen Hospitalised - Confirmed Neurax Worm Infection, Neurax Worm Tests to be Conducted on Every Citizen, Vulkanas to Attend NEC Conference

After the recent drama in Ayarii, Magnussen has been flown back to Monograd where he will be kept and treated. It has since been confirmed that he is infected by the Neurax Worm referred to as "YAX-12" although at this moment in time a cure is not known of. Monograd research will, contrary to Magnussen's command prior to his hospitalisation, continue in the hope of finding a cure. Researchers estimate that it will be a substantial amount of time before a cure is researched. However, while Magnussen is being treated, his state will constantly be monitored and his behavioural changes recorded. This is to aid the curing effort. So far, the only reported changes in behaviour are him wanting to change the country such that the worm may infect more people, as well as him becoming paranoid and an insomniac. While Magnussen's condition is in it's current state, Vice-President Lars Jensson will assume power. If Magnussen is deemed too unwell to ever recover, then an emergency election will be held.

In addition to this, every hospital and clinic in Vulkanas has been issued appropriate technology by the government to conduct tests fro Neurax Worm infections. These will be ready for use within the next 5-7 days. Every Vulkaan citizen is encouraged to do so. Should you be found to be a Neurax Worm host (though this is an unlikely event) then you will be hospitalised and given the latest treatment as it becomes available. It is unknown as of yet as to how much of the population is infected, though the predictions are currently low. The test itself consists of an X-Ray of the head, as well as possible ear probing, if the X-Ray is unclear. As Vulkaan citizens it is in your best interests to have tests conducted. Those in the Monograd district are at a higher risk than everyone else.

Finally, in other news, the Minister of Foreign affairs, Kevin Ericsson, has announced that he will attend the meeting regarding the Nordic Economic Centre hosted by Bienvia. This is because, although it may not be in Vulkanas' best interests to join the NEC, it is in Vulkanas' best interests to maintain communication and remain open to these ideas.

NEC Negotiations Start

VILIKAREV - With the assisstance of Vulkanas, Novagorod, Aboveland, the USS Enterprise, Swedish Democratic Republic, Camerania, the Union and, of course, Bienvia, the Nordic Economic Centre negotiations for undecided nations membership and for others to keep in touch with this ideas have started. Today was the first day of the conference, and the first topic was reviewed: what is the NEC for?
After nearly two hours of debate, the different diplomats managed to reduce the multiple opinions to one: facilitate commerce within the region and grant safetiness for the transactions within the members.
After this was cleared, Legati Yerik, Novagorod's representative asked an important question: what role is the NEC going to play in the region's economy?
Again, the discussion started but finally ended, giving this question a proper answer, that is: the NEC's role in the region's economy is to develop it and make it accessible for the people in the member nations.
Another question, asked by Kevin Ericsson, the Vulkaan Minister of Foreign Affairs, was: how will this union boost economy in the region if not many nations join it?
The answer: the idea is that this union covers all the nations as possible, as it boosts economy only in the union itself. If the whole region joins it, yes, it will boost the region's economy.
The second day of the conference (tomorrow) is supposed to be about the nation's opinions in this alliance and how to possibly improve it. The whole conference is supposed to last, at least, three days. The different diplomats will be hosted in many of the luxurious Vilikarev hotels.

Second Day For NEC Negotiations

VILIKAREV - Today was the second day for the NEC meeting in Vilikarev, Bienvia. As scheduled, diplomats gave their opinions on this alliance. Today's meeting was surprisingly short.
After nearly an hour of debate, the overall opinion was the NEC "is a healthy alliance that will bring unity and economic stability to the region, if it is handled properly".

Tomorrow will be the last day for negotiations and the nations will confirm if they enter the union of not.

OOC: It is VERY important that the nations in the negotiations confirm via telegram, NLN or RMB if they enter or not the NEC. Otherwise, they will be automatically counted as nations NOT in the union.
