What are your citizens thoughts on the issue? Citizens are happy because brothels are for the most part clean and heavily taxed

Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation? No
If it is, is it regulated in any way? N/A
If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime? Sale of sex is punished by a fine or possibly a mild prison sentence for repeated offenses, along with future surveillance by the People's Security Bureau. For purchase of sex, the sentence is significantly stricter, usually involving a moderate prison sentence.
What is the government's stance on the issue? Highly opposed.
What are your citizens thoughts on the issue? Somewhat opposed, but varies significantly within the population.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it? Of the political parties, only the Free Liquor Party have advocated full-on legalisation of prostitution (along with so-called 'sex rations'), although they are a frivolous political party. The Free Liberals have argued for a decriminalization on the sale and purchase of sex, while continuing to make the organized sex trade illegal along with pimping. The People's Socialist Party have argued for decriminalizing the sale of sex, and lighten sentencing for the purchase of sex, while continuing to combat pimping. No major religious congregations have voiced support for the legalisation of prostitution, and private companies rarely get involved in politics outside of the realms of taxation and regulation.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it? Most mainstream political parties (with the exception of the two mentioned above) as well as all major religions oppose the legalisation of prostitution.
Is it important to the economy in anyway? Not in a significant manner.

Prostitution has just been legalised at the federal level in Yakus a long as it follows the following regulations in the Legal Prostitution Act 2014:

• Prostitution MUST take place ONLY within the premises of a legally licensed brothel.

• Brothels, brothel owners and prostitutes MUST be licensed to carry out their work. The licenses are issued by local authority and ensure that the prostitutes are treated fairly and are working of their own will.

• Prostitutes MUST undergo regular medical checks by a certified doctor.

• Prostitutes MUST be using medicinal contraception, such as the contraceptive pill or other form of birth control: IUDs are also mandatory for prostitutes.

• Brothel owners MUST ensure that their prostitutes are fairly treated and payed by their clients, as well as their establishment.

• Clients MUST be made to also use a condom for any type of sexual activity, including oral, anal and vaginal sex.

• Brothel institutes MUST pay a tax rate on the money they earn through prostitution acts.

•Brothel institutes MUST keep a record of their clients. This information MUST be kept confidential and up-to-date, and should include medical and service history of the clients. Brothel institutes MUST be made aware of a client's legal history.

• Clients with records of violent and sexually related offences MUST NOT be served by the brothel nor its prostitutes for sexual purposes.

• Clients MUST pay the prostitutes a direct fee which is to be kept by the prostitute, with the fee being at the discretion of the prostitute. Brothel institutes MUST also pay their prostitutes a suitable wage.

• Prostitutes shall uphold the right to refuse service to any client without any reason required for doing so.

• Prostitutes shall uphold the rights to move between jobs as they please and also hold the right to take industrial action against their employers if necessary.

• Prostitute shall uphold the right to file suit against their employers or their clients if necessary.

• Brothel institutes shall be responsible for the health of their prostitutes. If a client receives an STI from a prostitute, the client shall uphold the right to file suit against the brothel institution. If a prostitute receives an STD from a client, then the brothel shall have the responsibility to provide medical treatment and/or compensation to the prostitute.

The purpose of the Legal Prostitution Act is to protect the safety, legal rights and dignity of the prostitutes as well as clients and brothel workers.

Street prostitution shall remain illegal as it is not regulated. It is an offence to solicit, provide or live off the earnings of unregulated prostitutuon.

Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation? Yes

If it is, is it regulated in any way? It is heavily regulated, taxed, and tracked by the State

If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime? Those who are not registered prostitutes are fined for Health violations and depending on the amount they have made, charged with tax evasion

What is the government's stance on the issue? It is good for taxation and the liberal thing to do

What are your citizens thoughts on the issue? Some agree with the government, while a minority believe the moral wrong does not outweigh the realistic bonus to unskilled workers and taxes

Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it? The People's Utopian Party (the only party in Vladovaskia) supports it, as the majority of the populace and the government does. Several agency and networking businesses support prostitution, but those too are heavily regulated

Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it? Several members of the religious population (mainly Christians, Muslims, and Buddhists) are against prostitution

Is it important to the economy in anyway? The economy is not dependant on it, but it is a definite boost

Anything else? Prostitution is effectively treated as operating a food cart on the street by the State. Even though you may be a single individual, you still are liable to health standards and proper taxation

If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime?
Soliciting or providing street prostitution can lead to a prison sentence.

Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation? Yes
If it is, is it regulated in any way? Yes
If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime? N/A
What is the government's stance on the issue? It is just another form of business to them.
What are your citizens thoughts on the issue? This depends on who you ask. Traditional Proskoyans look down upon the practice, but newer generations are fine with it.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it? Advertising companies often employ the help of some of the higher rated brothels for models, and bars often employ people to help get the drinks going.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it? There is a small feminist movement that objects to the business, often forgetting there is a small but growing number of male prostitution businesses.
Is it important to the economy in anyway? It's just another business that creates revenue.
Anything Else?In Proskoya, a license is needed to either work for prostitution businesses or to use the services provided by said businesses. These licenses signify knowledge of common STDs and notify both customer and service provider that this person has been tested for them. Licenses must be renewed every year at a small cost.

Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it? Some corporations support it, both indigenous and foreign. Otherwise, not especially prevalent group.

Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it? Some are. But what does that matter, as long as money reaches the right pockets?

by Imperium Sidhicum
Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation?
Well, it certainly isn't explicitly forbidden. Not that any Sidh would enter such a disreputable trade willingly.
If it is, is it regulated in any way?
Only in the sense that any Sidh who might have such a low self-respect as to enter prostitution legally becomes un-Sidh, which is pretty much the same as being formally declared amfiat (an unperson). If captured and coerced into prostitution, a proper Sidh is expected to commit suicide rather than bear such a shame, as would be the case with any other form of enslavement. A true Sidh is either his own master or dead.
If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime?
Asides from subjecting any prostituted Sidhae to outlawry, nothing, really.
What is the government's stance on the issue?
See above. It is a disreputable business at best and a form of enslavement at worst, so the government merely provides incentive for all Sidhae to dissociate from it.
What are your citizens thoughts on the issue?
It's not like Sidh people in general would mind it - as long as it's non-Sidhae being prostituted, and Sidhae are the customers. Still, intercourse with humans, an inferior race, is generally regarded poorly, so someone known to frequent certain establishments in the ghetto will lose esteem in the eyes of his peers.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it?
The military certainly does appreciate services provided by human prostitutes. Some commanders have even suggested creating brothels under military administration to give troops a way to let off some steam, citing high incidence of violence, including sexual violence, against civilians in occupied areas otherwise. They are, however, a radical minority not widely supported, since such an idea would inevitably lead to Sidh involvement in running these brothels, thereby involving them in a disreputable and un-Sidh practice incompatible with the prestige and dignity of military service.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it?
Most Sidhae view prostitution as disreputable and un-Sidh while having no objections to non-Sidh involvement in the business.
Is it important to the economy in anyway?
Evidently, no. However, it is important to the black market economy of the human segment of the Imperium's population - for many young women in the ghettos, it is often the only means besides crime to support themselves.
Anything Else?
Although there are no formal laws regulating human prostitution, the pimps and madams of the many ghetto brothels generally make sure their girls (and the occasional boys) are healthy and well-provided for, since it is good for business. Healthcare is especially important in brothels frequented by Sidh customers, since a Sidh patron contracting an STD usually results in violence and death. It's not like STDs are much of a concern to the enhanced Sidh immune systems, but the simple fact of having contracted such a disease implies one has been visiting a human brothel and seriously damages a Sidh's reputation, prompting such violent responses.

Brothel operators are also expected to be very discreet and take every step to ensure the customers' privacy, at least as far as Sidh patrons are concerned. Indiscretion, or worse, deliberate abuse of customer trust can damage their reputation and consequently lead to violent retaliation that Imperial authorities will do nothing about. Some operators make extra money by clandestinely recording the activities of their customers and selling the records as "authentic Sidh porn", a very profitable niche within and without Imperium. Obviously, should such records purchased on the black market get into the wrong hands, the unsuspecting customer's public image would be destroyed. On one well-publicized occasion, a prominent Sidh lady's political career was destroyed after a competitor accidentally purchased a black-market porn recording featuring her, three well-endowed human males of African descent and a horse, all secretly recorded in the local ghetto's luxury cathouse. The aftermath of this incident was 34 humans dead, 138 injured, 5 Sidhae injured, a pimp brutally torture-murdered and 5 ghetto buildings destroyed or seriously damaged after the said lady took revenge on the brothel's owner for such indiscretion before moving to a different world where her scandal could be concealed. On another incident, a reputable general and war hero was dishonourably discharged for compromising the reputation of the armed forces and conduct unbecoming of his rank and office after his troops had exchanged another sex vid featuring him engaged with multiple human partners of both sexes, his same-sex activities not limited to the active role. Although the authorities tried their best to cover up the incident, not citing specific reasons for the discharge, the video became viral in the underground porn community, prompting the discharged general to commit suicide and leading those who still considered him a friend to launch a massacre in the ghetto, starting with all involved in the record. This act of violence prompted a human uprising, leading to dozens of Sidh and thousands of human deaths, the authorities taking 2 weeks and a threat to use nerve gas on the ghetto to pacify the riots.

These precedents prove the importance of discretion in the prostitution business, as well as the serious backlash that known Sidh involvement can have.

Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation? The actual act of prostitution isn't illegal, however the way to achieve it is illegal. See below.
If it is, is it regulated in any way? While prostitution is technically legal, all private enterprise is illegal. Because this private enterprise is illegal, and the state does not have a prostitution program, you can't legally engage in prostitution.
If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime? As long as they pay said prostitute in monetary aid, then it is illegal as it falls under private enterprise.
What is the government's stance on the issue? Prostitution is fine and moral, however there will be no private enterprise and the SFS will not set up a state-owned prostitution program.
What are your citizens thoughts on the issue? Their thoughts are the same as the state's. They cannot legally disagree with the State.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it? No.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it? Optikism, Chrisitanity, and Islam all disapprove of it however the majority of the populace are atheist.
