History

Postby Wendel » Mon Sep 09, 2013 10:28 pm

Wendel has a short yet rich history. It should be noted that Wendel is currently short of history records because of the challenges that Wendel faced since its emergence. Many books were burned during the wars with Maxtopia and Oxtopia. The records shown here are the known remaining records of Wendel's history. As known today, there are only five history records of Wendel, saved from the prying eyes of the destructive nations of Maxtopia and Oxtopia.

The Beginning
According to Theon Brad, known to be the first Wendellian historian, in his book, "Saving", Wendellians came from Oxtopia, a nation filled with hatred and pride. Oxtopia, at that time, disliked any form of religion. Any man or woman found praying, or mentioning any deity or any supernatural entity, or wearing any sacred thing or amulet, were killed immediately by Oxtopian loyalists. It was a decree ordered by their king, Fangs Vile, to kill any religious man. This happened when Fangs' son was killed and sacrificed by a priest of an occult group.

It was believed that The Saving started on 1500, Oxtopian year, 20 years later from the persecution, when Xhen Wendel, a devout Christian, experienced an apparition by our Lord. According to Theon, Xhen Wendel, at dawn, heard the Lord saying to him that they will be saved. A flash of images were shown to Xhen Wendel at that moment. For Theon, those images were the direction and places where they would go and find peace. Three days later, Xhen Wendel called a secret meeting with two Christian priests. Two days later, the priests called any religious sect they could find to inform them of the Saving. Unfortunately, none of the other religious leaders joined. Two days later at dawn, after the information had spread, there were about one hundred and thirty people gathered on the Zilon hill. However, after a few minutes, Oxtopian soldiers with horses charged their way to the gathering of the religious people. The gathered people ran away from the soldiers. Until, they saw white chariot horses with blazing armored men coming to their direction. To their surprise, the white armored men charged at the Oxtopian soldiers not them. Oxtopian soldiers were defeated and the white armored men were gone. After that, the "saved" people declared the day and event the Saving. They marched through a desert for two days until they reached a small village believed by Xhen Wendel to be the village that would help them get a ship. Truly, that small village offered a small ship to them. They sail for forty days through the sea. They experienced violent storms, yet alive. Until, they reached a beautiful land known now as Wendel.

Military

Postby Wendel » Mon Dec 09, 2013 2:13 am

As of now, Wendel has no government funding for the Armed Forces of Wendel. This has been due to the law that has been passed by the previous Administration ordering the government to stop funding the military. Former Pres. Carlos Garci was an avid peace supporter.
However, currently, Pres. Richard Smith is persuading the Congress to rescind the law for the increase in national security.

OOC: I based this on the budget screen.

The Armed Forces of Wendel is currently only doing a humanitarian and relief works through out the country. Sometimes, they help the Wendel National Police.
The number of soldiers, currently, is declared confidential until the government takes over fully the AFW.
