At one point there were so many such threads being started that they were pushing all of the others -- some of which were more generally applicable -- off of the front page, so the type got banned under the rule against copycatting.

The concept was being copycatted, a general ban was imposed becasue of it, and that ban has -- to the best of my knowledge -- not yet been lifted. Your thread, even if independently invented, is close enough to the banned type to have been caught up in the ban.[/not-a-mod]

I believe Factbooks are still allowed here, but I have seen some get locked and told they should use the Gameside factbooks. Then I've seen another mod (forget who, specifically) say they prefer forumside. I would imagine it's a matter of personl preference and that you can still do them here, but I'd have to look around and see if there was ever a definitive ruling. So, yeah, ask a Mod. :blush:

Using red text in a sig, even text that resembles the terrifying Warn text, isn't expressly forbidden, I don't think, but probably not something you should do. Try asking in Reppy's Sig Workshop if you need clarification.

"II Mentors" aren't just for II. We do all of the Diplomacy boards except Sports, though admittedly some are more specialised than others in different areas. Lamoni is one Mentor who does a bit of F&NIing, if I recall, and I think we're looking into lassoing another duder who knows this forum. I mainly do GE&T, but I used to be active enough around these parts so I should probably try to pick that up again.

You can't. It'd defeat the main purpose of Factbooks, but I think I see why you're asking.

If it's intended exclusively for your own use, try a Word document of some kind. If you want to choose who sees it, Google Docs is an option, or you could set up on a free website host.
