Etymology-

The origin for the name, Felix, comes from the first Spanish explorer to set land on modern day Santa Maria in 1493. Felix Pizarro, head conquistador of the army that discovered Felix decided to name the land after himself claiming the land was worthy of his first name. A alternate name for Felix is Waijai, which in Keji means "flat sea land".

Politics-

Politics is a talked about subject in most Felixian households as family members would debate certain topics that face Felix at the moment and side with either the Liberals, Conservatives, Socialists, etc, etc. Felixian politics is very weird one as most parties don't support a military, the parties that do, are very small influence wise and don't get that many votes. Many international political organizations believe Felix is a Center-Right nation with Neo-Classical economic thinking to be the norm. Felixians can get passionate about Politics although the subject isn't talked about in public that much as Felixians prefer to maintain their political views privately. Felixians also don't care which party an other person may support, as they see what a person's values and character have a higher matter of importance than petty politics. Most Felixians are highly aware of other nations and recognize their existence.

Foreign Relations-

After many years of isolation since independence from European powers in 1875, The Federal Government of Felix has decided to branch out their relations with other nations in ways of joining alliances in the national level, joining organizations in the political party level and the most basic of them all, setting up embassies with other nations. Felix has yet to make their own embassy program but the Government has planned to make one in the near future. Felix has three embassies set up with three nations. Here is a list of nations Felix has a embassy with.

Felix has also developed a non aggression pact with Luziyca incase war breaks out, which would be unlikely as Felix lacks a military force although many scholars could consider the NPF (National Police Force) as a Military of sorts. As said earlier Felix has yet to develop their own embassy program but when Felix does there will be a list of nations that have a embassy in Felix and have diplomatic relationships with Felix.

Felix has joined two international organizations. The first one Felix joined was the International Neko Armed Forces (INAF) and the Transversal Red Cross (TRS). Felix has yet to join a economic alliance but the INAF does have some economical elements put into it as Felix has a free trade agreement with all members of the INAF. Felix recently joined the TRS and has yet to do anything major in that origination. All of Felix's major right leaning to right wing political parties have joined the International Rightist Democratic Union (IRDU) and when it comes up to international elections Felix will be supported by fellow Rightist nations.

Felix is planning to make a international organization soon enough as President Luis Garcia of the Liberal Party continues to develop Felixian relations with other nations in this very big multiverse.

Administrative Divisions-

Government-
The government of Felix is a Federal Republic, it has three branches of government, Presidential, Judicial, and Legislatorial. The Felixian Constitution ensures that all branches of government can overrule each other in certain situations. The nation elects a President every 5 years and the Senate and House of Representatives are elected every 5 years as well. The Judicial branch is voted by House and Senate sides, both deciding if a candidate for the Judicial branch can be in the Supreme Court of Felix.

The President has the power to veto bills, create a emergency military in case of invasion, make a referendum on certain topics that involve the Constitution's amendments, declare war (with consent of the Legislature), sign treaties, nominate Justices for the Supreme Court, dissolve current government (with consent of the Judicial Branch) and appoint Ministers for various Ministries.

The Legislature has the power to impeach the President, draft bills, vote on bills, vote on the President's recommendation for war, vote on international issues such as joining alliances, investigate the President on any issues he might of caused (i.e scandals), and vote on the President's nominations for Justice in the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has the power to check laws and bills if they go follow the Felixian Constitution, approve the President's decision to dissolve the government, vote on a Presidential election if the national vote is a dead tie, meaning that both candidates have the same amount of votes, to check if States in Felix follow Felixian Federal Law and Felixian Constitution and can do cases that couldn't be resolved in the local courts.

Political Parties-

In Felix there are many political parties ranging from Right-Wing to Left-Wing. All ideologies are allowed to be represented except for Communism which has been banned due to a attempted Communist Coup D'état in 1967. Felix has 8 parties that have national representation in the Legislature and Presidential office. There is also 3 Coalitions. Here is the list of political parties in Felix.

THE RIGHT


Liberal Party-
The Liberal Party was the first party founded in Felix, formed one year before independence was granted in 1875. The founder of the party, Giovanni Napolitano, also became the first President of Felix. Today the Liberal Party is a center-right party advocating peace, prosperity, equal rights and freedom. They're the most popular party (as of 2000) and has not lost a national election in 25 years. Their leader is Nelson Cruz.


Conservative Party-
The Conservative Party was the second party founded in Felix, the same year Felix got it's independence from those European countries. The founder Miguel Sanchez, was a die hard Catholic and wanted to unite the religious sections of Felixian society, to make Felix a place of religious values. While they have been elected into office a lot of times they haven't won a election since 1985. The current head of the Conservative Party is Harry Peterson the son of the late, former President of Felix Michael Peterson. They still go by the old teachings of the Catholic Church and are more traditional than mainstream Felix but they too want peace and are against military formation.


Nationalist Party-
The Nationalist Party was a break away section of the Conservative Party, after the Conservative Party no longer supported a military. The Nationalists want the military to be formed again and follow the same principles as the Conservatives although they're are more nationalistic (for obvious reasons) and do not support the church, thinking that the church pacified Felix. The current head of the Nationalist Party is Adolf Ulmer.


United Party-
Like the Nationalist Party and the Green Party the United Party is the Liberal (Libertarian) option for defense. The UP was founded in 1908 and they are more socially liberal going for the legalization of drugs and marriage equality. They also want the military to be formed again to protect the Felixan people. The current leader of the United Party is Cristián Ruiz, former football (soccer) star.

THE CENTER


Centre Party-
The Centre Party is a relatively new to the political scene (founded in 2009), they were formed by local grassroots political organizations that were tired with the constant choosing between far-right and far-left parties. Their motto is, "Move Forward", and they haven't joined a coalition yet. And they don't plan to, they plan to be the third option for the Felixan people, offering a centrist prospective in Felixian politics. Their party head is Steven Hawke.

THE LEFT


Socialist Party-
The Socialist Party was founded in 1902, the fought the workers and they absorbed their former allies the Labour Party (Labor Party) in 1943. They now advocate worker's rights, minority rights and demand that there are higher taxes on people earning more than 750,000 Felixan Dollars and just like their Liberal and Conservative enemies they advocate peace and prosperity to all Felixians. They have lead the government twice. Their current leader is Naum Dimitrov.


Green Party-
The Green Party was a break away party that was tired of the SP's stance on the environment and felt that they could no longer represent their environmentalist views. They were founded in 1981. Other than the environment issue the Green Party is a lot a like the Socialist Party, except they are more liberal when it comes to social rights, meanwhile the SP is a bit more conservative. Their current leader is Rui Araullo.


Social Democratic Party-
Like the UP, GP, and NP the SDP is another break away faction that made their own party. They were founded in 1961 by Arrigo Borgogni, a former politician from the Socialist Party. Like the Greens (Green Party) they were sick of the SP and thought that the SP couldn't really represent their view on social issues. Their current leader is Stavros Papadopoulos.

As mentioned before there are three coalitions fighting for control in the Legislature. The three are, Felixian Prosperity which consists of the Liberal Party and United Party. Felixian Values which includes the Conservative Party and Nationalist Party. And finally the left wing option, Felixian Fairness which has the Socialist Party, Green Party, and Social Democratic Party.

The President of Felix is Luis Garcia of the Liberal Party, he won the election with 40% of the vote, which in Felixian terms, is a blowout. In the Legislature camp things are much different. The Senate has 100 seats overall and a party or coalition needs 51 seats to have majority. The Liberal Party has 30 seats, Socialist Party has 29 seats, Conservative Party has 25 seats, Nationalist Party has 11 seats, Green Party and United Party each have 2 seats and the Social Democratic Party has 1. Coalition wise Felixian Values leads the Senate but doesn't have majority with 36 seats total, while Felixian Fairness has 32 seats and Felixian Prosperity is tied with 32 seats as well. Finally in the House of Representatives, a party or coalition needs 101 seats to gain majority, there are 200 seats overall. The Liberal Party leads the pack with 62 seats, The Socialist Party has 60, Conservative has 58 seats and the number drops off with the Nationalists having 10 seats, the United Party having 7 seats, the Green Party having 2 seats and the Social Democratic Party having 1 seat. Coalition wise, Felixian Prosperity leads with 69 seats while Felixian Values is behind by one seat with 68 seats overall and Felixian Fairness lagging behind with 63 seats.
