Speaking of knights...

Elite Knight of the Empire of Torsiedelle, with Family Crest on his shield. The sword sucks, though. I was going for a Bastard Sword with the longer hilt and blade.

Since we appear to be on the topic of Armored Vehicles... I thought'd it'd be time to reveal semi-complete factbook artwerk:

Unfortunately is of too big for NS, so I am looking for two things.

1) I do believe my notes are complete, however this is definitely an old project, and I wanted to make sure accreditation was given where due... so if someone sees a glaring issue with that please inform me of an issue and point out the bit, and I will go looking through my files to corroborate, and fix where it is due.

2) Additionally, while I am marking this "semi-complete" any glaring but relatively easy to fix issues should be pointed out.

Paging Sevvania

Postby Gear 1 » Sun Sep 21, 2014 6:01 pm

In response to a private request for a 1940's era type Diesel-Electric locomotive design, suitable for military work, I present the results of the Inter-Global Heavy Manufacturing project: The Sevvania MRS-01 (Military Road Switcher, Mark 1).

Image

Pictured example is painted in a test camouflage pattern based on U.S. "Chocolate Chip" desert camouflage, since the unit is intended for service in an arid, desert-like nation.

Drawing inspiration from the 1940's era ALCO (American Locomotive Company) road switchers (their euphemism for mainline locomotives), this model was developed specifically for military operation. Fitted with six total powered axles (typical era diesel RS's had 4), low and high speed capability, and a fairly conventional layout, this locomotive can provide both yard and mainline service. With an expanded control cab and lengthened frame as compared to early ALCO designs, the locomotive can accommodate a "day crew" of Engineer/Driver, Fireman/Mechanic, Conductor/Commander, and Brakeman/Gunner. Tactical radios fitted to the locomotive can be operated from two redundant control stations, situated on either side of the cab. The Engineer typically drives from one, with the Fireman monitoring gauges and serving as a backup at the second set of controls. An electrically powered ball turret with twin cal-50 heavy machineguns provides basic antiaircraft and antipersonnel protection. Although primary maintenance and running repairs can be performed along two walkways on the sides of the locomotive, there is an access hatch in the rear of the cab leading to the main diesel powerplant when outside access doors are plated over with armor. The shorter "cowl" is the nose of the locomotive and generally accepted as the forward side. Housing the electrical generators and other equipment, it can only be accessed from outside.

Final performance statistics are to be determined after Sevvanian Armed Forces acceptance of the prototype units for testing on their route network.

Guys, I've got a question. I'm looking to mount a 90mm Cannon on either a medium or heavy tank (Mid-to-late WW2 Era), and I've got two prototypes right now, here. Any opinion on which is better?
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

A 90mm gun will offer more velocity and longer effective range of munitions. This was commonly done during WW2, the most famous being the lengthening of the 75mm gun the Germans used.

However the question is what type of gun is this 90mm? HV? LV?

Is there any practical reason why that would be necessary?

Right. Most likely an HV (I'm assuming HV stands for high velocity rather than something else.), though I don't really know the difference. Design-wise, would the shorter, or longer barrel be more effective?

A 90mm LV gun would be like a howitzer, or infantry support weapon.

A 90mm HV gun will be more geared to fight armored targets like tanks, and even fortified positions like bunkers, pillboxes, etc.

With a HV design, the longer barrel will work more effectively.

Alright, thanks. So, a long-barrelled HV 90mm it is. Thanks dude!

Made a map of the continent for an RP idea I have. Thanks to one of the Co-OP's of one I've been in for a while, I feel more confident about sharing stuff about it.

http://s18.postimg.org/f32klgmpl/Map_of_Tempest_V2.png

This one is more like a painting or early design, with no cities marked on it.

http://s27.postimg.org/5e5f0te4j/Map_of ... Cities.png

This one is actually the original finished product, where I also added the cities and their locations.

I originally intended to take real oceans and landmarks from satellite images and edit it to make the maps, but ended up going with an old-fashioned looking fantasy map instead. I took a lot of inspiration from the maps of Skyrim and Cyrodill on TES IV & V, as well as the map of Morrowind, with their styles and all.

I forgot to add the nautical star and compass, though, and a cartographer's name, date, etc.

Also, more Medieval Knights for my nation!

Image

That's all I got today. I'm going to go play Dark Souls, lol.
