That book is censored. We mustn't let the wrong people get the right ideas.

OOC: Dat meta...

IC: The book is allowed and freely sold in Romberg, but due to the wide selection of books available, it had only been a bestseller once, when it was first published. Even now though, it is still quite a popular read.

OOC: @ Themiclesia, be careful of the wrath of Max Barry and his ban hammer... :D :?

How popular is the book Jennifer Government in your nation?
It is held within the 'Notable Political Dystopias' section along with 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, The Iron Heel and others like these. It is the most commonly used reference for ultra-libertarian capitalist societies.

Is it commonly bought and read?
Yes. Close to the level of 1984 and Brave New World.

Do your citizens admire the book, or despite it?
Interspherians generally admire the book, largely for the fact that it focuses on the potential removal of government. From what we've seen, ultra-libertarian capitalist societies such as pictured in Jennifer Government are far more dangerous than authoritarian dictatorships for two primary reasons; a) there is no single ruler to intimidate or bribe and b) technological progression is usually not nearly as stagnated as in authoritarian dictatorships.

Optionally, if your nation is featured in the book, what would it affiliate with (e.g. the US, fragmented markets)?
N/A

by Fatatatutti
Jennifer Government remains on the best-seller list in Fatatatutti, right behind The Geese in Winter and The Popup Book of Sex Education. There are also several counterfeit versions including Jennifer Governmint, Genevieve Government and Genuine Fur Government.

Max Barry is second in popularity only to Alphonse, General Castro-Stalina, Pappa Nick P, King Whirnak and several others. A recent convention of Max Barry impersonators turned to chaos when it was invaded by a convention of King Whirnak impersonators who proceeded to throw the Max Barry impersonators out the window. Alphonse was not available for comment.

How popular is the book Jennifer Government in your nation?
The book Jennifer Government is quite popular in our nation, although it has just been released. However, it has been pushed to 3rd on the charts because popular author Dan Brown's book Inferno was released 1 week after and popular South Minorqan author Lok Man released the last book in her Heavenly Sword and Sabre (天之剑、天之屠) series, Fellow Man(同年同月同日生).

Yes, it is. It is currently on Summer Book Reads Chart No. 3 and it is estimated that 400 million copies have been bought so far.

Do your citizens admire the book, or despise it?
Some admire it for its writing, some despise it for being overtly pro-corporation.

Optionally, if your nation is featured in the book, what would it affiliate with (e.g. the US, fragmented markets)?
Non-United States Federated Blocs.

This. It is also frowned for its socialist content.

Legal, sold in a few bookstores and held in only a few libraries, and strongly frowned upon and very unpopular, because of its leftist content.

by The Third Nova Terra of Scrin
Allowed, the book "Jennifer Government" is not really much popular among the general populace (because every sane politician in the Terra Nova of Scrin knows that the general populace cares only about manga).

However, the said book has attracted attention among critics, the educated intelligentsia and political groups. As the Ideology of the Terra Nova of Scrin and its Government supports and officially adopts Communism and Socialism, the book Jennifer Government is widely admired and praised.

Aside from its aesthetic and humorous value, Jennifer Government is noted for its accurate and comedic criticism of greedy capitalism.

The book, however, cannot be found in any bookstore and can only be acquired through delivery.

The King-in-Council, as per the rights given to him by the Government Regulation of Books and Media Act, has banned the book due to it "spreading evil ideas to the nations youth." The Supreme Court upheld this decision as constitutional.
