Californians celebrate as the Constitution is approved overwhelmingly.

The Californian Constitution have been approved by the people of California after a day of voting. Tears of joy, people dancing and hugging filled the streets of major cities as noise have filled Sacramento's downtown. The election count have been televised by the California Broadcasting Corporation, with the results overwhelmingly supports the Republic of California. In the Provisional Assembly, pictures of politicians from different party hugging each other became common as they celebrated the official declaration of the Republic of California.

"I am very happy, as a homegrown Californian, that I can still see a better future, without anyone taking my rights because of who I am and what I believe." said Mary, an Inyo resident who travel all the way to Los Angeles to witness the historical event. Following the announcement, the Electoral Commission have announced the opening of the candidacy filing for the May 5 general election.

The whole Sunday, the Armed Forces have been patrolling the streets to ensure a peaceful referendum. By the time they announced the birth of the constitution they also have a way of celebrating it. The Army fired 21 cannons facing the US, celebrating the official independence of California. They were celebrating too, like millions of Californians looking towards the future with their new country.

Election 2013: Meet the CLP

Postby California Dominion » Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:51 pm

The filing of candidacy is here. This is a requirement by the California Elections. All citizens can run for candidacy, but they must met certain requirements. One of the most closely watched is the Presidential Race. Currently, there are 3 dominant parties, all with some common platforms but have separate policies regarding some political issues. There are 5 more minor parties that already filed registration from the Election Board and submitted form for their candidates. Here are one of the 3 candidates for the President of California:

Helen Earnest, Californian Liberal Party

Former Sacramento Councilor and 5 year lawyer Helen
Earnest, CLP.

Helen Earnest is a 3-term Sacramento City Councilor. On her term, she focused on boosting tourism in the city by supporting different city ordinances regarding city cleanliness and orderliness. She mastered the Sacramento 2020 Plan, wherein the city will focus more on green energy and crime reduction. One of her main priorities as councilor is the growing problem of transportation. In order to reduce private vehicles slowing down the streets, she focused on Sacramento's transportation. She proposed a new transit system with lower fares, better service and violence reduction within public transport.

The Californian Liberal Party is a center-left party. Some says it is the successor of the Democratic Party. Most of its members are politician from cities and often times counties. The CLP have several plans for several issues. On the issue of deficit, they are planning to increase taxes and cut funding for the social services like financial assistance. On education, the CLP introduces e-Vocation or Technology and Vocational Skills Enrichment (TVSE). In this plan, students have to take one course from Technology and one from Vocational Skills. This they say will promote alternative income as a source of profit for their families.

The military is one of their center agendas. They laid out a plan called California-Strong, which calls for estimated 67 trillion Californian Pesos spending on military for the next 5 years. This will include acquisition of second handed vessels, air crafts and other equipment. In this plan, cooperation with coalition forces, especially the EAF, is needed to maintain California's security for the next 5 years. The plan also includes Youth Education, which trains the youth for basic military training.

On poverty and unemployment, the CLP will introduce Alternative Income Education Program. The AIEP will educate disadvantaged people by giving them knowledge about farming and other alternative income. This will not only slash unemployment, according to them, but also boost country's economy. On the other hand, they also have the Californian Natural Preservation Program, which will preserve California's environment by regulating the size of farmlands and industrial complexes, protecting endangered species and their habitat and gradual transition to renewable energy.

President Parson pushes for military buildup

President Taylor Parson yesterday stressed California's need to establish the military. He delivered the message in his address to Joint Californian-Eminrallian troop assembly in Port Loma near San Diego. This came after the Government of California announced several measures to ramp up Californian defense. This includes introduction of conscription and acquisition of second hand military equipment.

"One of the core values of the Republic of California is freedom and liberty. We shall ensure that this values and our country shall be protected through a strong military backed by the people of California. We must all work hard to develop a strong Republican Armed Forces, capable of defending the republic and its people." President Parson said on his speech. He also echoes the importance of the Eminrallian troops within California's borders, describing them as allies.

After the establishment of California, the Republican Navy only have 56 vessels, mostly Defender Class ships from Coast Guard. The Eminral Navy donated almost 23 cruisers and old battleship to help the Republican Navy increase its naval protection. Eminral and California signed a treaty where Eminral is obliged to help California with defense missions. This treaty will expire in 10 years.

One of the series of Californian Defense Initiative is signing the treaty with several other nations, creating the Tristain Alliance. President Parson said that multinational cooperation through this alliance will be beneficial to Californians in the long run. Aside from defense, the Government announced sweeping measures to enact rehabilitation of public buildings such as hospitals and schools and investment in law and order.
