What are common "levels" of credit cards in your nation? Examples would be like the Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Black Cards in the US. The common model adopted by many banks in Theopanias is:

Normal Card (color varies by bank) - standard benefits and costs
Deluxe Card (traditionally gold colored) - often around 2x the normal benefits and costs
Premium Card (traditionally black and white colored) - often around 4x the normal benefits and costs

Credit cards are not really "credit cards"
but there are cards that are similar to credit cards.
They offer the same benefits, but people don't have to pay it back: Implying they pay all the money back at the end of the year, not after they pay with the credit card.

There are:
Silver: normal
Blacksteel: medium
Admentium: premium

Credit Cards and Debit Cards aren't used exactly much in Cortezia as we are much more of a cash type, hence do be prepared to bring in huge sums of cash in tourist as 90% of establishments accepts cash only. On a side note, hotels and michelin star restaurants accepts credit and debit cards though as aforementioned, they prefer cash. Security wise, you don't have to worry bringing in huge sums of money as crime rates are low and you will find police literally everywhere patrolling the streets.

Since physical cards are obsolete and all information is stored in an all-pervasive mesh network, the user's level is represented in some other medium. A typical starting account is usually represented as something absurdly common in the bank's main demographic, such as plastic or topsoil. These levels are usually reserved for the destitute or those who lack the ability to count. Moving up the seemingly endless ranks, the most common account for the common man is usually the iron account. These tend to be the simplest types and most of the money doesn't always mysteriously vanish when a planet's economy collapses. It used to end with a Shardite account, represented by the titular diamondoid derivative used in the production of psytech. Then several appearances of the so called "Black account" showed up in media and it eventually became reality through the neutronium account.

On the other hand, illegitimate credit cards, which are used by people traveling in foreign lands, are quite popular and are sold at most counterfeiting shops (which operate openly in every city above the size of a hick town). We usually find it best to counterfeit the Platinum level - good enough to be impressive, but not so good as to cause the suckers we use it on to check too hard. Of course, the Decepticon Interplanetary Bank will automatically generate the needed approval code for any kind of card one of its customers happens to be using as long as the card is registered with the system, so different local variations are no problem at all - except, of course, for whatever sucker accepted the card.

Travelers are advised to only use credit when they're staying in one nation for a short time so that they're long gone by the time the area's real credit card company detects the fraud. Those who want to stay longer are encouraged to use cash instead. Our counterfeiters' products are almost impossible to detect, but for the utmost certainty, it's best to buy cash from the Decepticon Interplanetary Bank. This bank specializes in the counterfeiting of all forms of foreign funding, and it outright guarantees that its "printed or minted" products are indistinguishable from the real things even under the closest of scrutiny.

The biggest credit-card company in Aurinsula is called Silvertree, and it also operates the ATM union. You can get a Silvertree card in five levels, each named after one of the five Heavenly Stems -甲, 乙, 丙, 丁, and 戊, pronounced jia, yi, bing, ding, and wu. Silvertree offers a number of benefits programs through its associates - supermarket bonus points are particularly popular, as are airline miles and something called "telecom credit" - and you get more programs depending on what level you have. People with good credit ratings and long histories of paying their bills on time can get invited to a higher level, but it's more common just to buy your way in.

All credit cards in The Bureaucracy are subject to standards set by The Central Bureaucracy, via the Department of Economic Affairs, which in turn must be approved by The Department of Inter-Banking Regulation, which must be finalized by The Department of The Imperial Treasury.

Plastic of any standardized color for standard benefits, credit lines, and interest rates/penalties: These may only be red, blue, or green, any bank caught issuing a card that is not of standard level and also not of standard color must in turn pay the full amount of debt owed to the bank by its customers carrying the illegitimate cards.

Plastic of any plus color for above standard benefits ETC: These may only by Purple, Yellow, or Silver. Same penalties apply as before.

Plastic Gold for Premium Benefits ETC: These may be only of plastic colored gold. Failure to comply will result not only in the previous fines, but removal of the banks permission to issue cards.

Please note that all cards of these three levels must be of the same uniform dimensions.

It is rumored there is a fourth level....

Mythril Cards: These cards may only be carried by direct blood relatives of The Imperial Family, the benefits they confer are unknown at this time, and are classified by The Department of Pointless Secrets.

The BCMA or the Bank of the Montesardi Commerce has the following as their system:

Standard Card - standard benefits and costs
Merchants Card - enhanced benefits with a slightly more costs
Business Card - common benefits in most commercial businesses, more costs with standard interest rates.
Executive Card - large amounts of benefits, more costly than the rest with slightly low interest rates.
Corporate Card - almost universal benefits, mostly in PEMEA petrol, the most expensive card, but low interest rates.
