Factbook on The Federal
Crowned Republic of Temacht

Introduction:
A nation, until recently, relatively isolated by it's geography, Temacht has recently started making strides to reach out to other nations. Originally the nation was made up of a few explorers and families who formed something resembling a democracy. However, it was a weak system and was over taken by five strong families. These five families struggled for quite sometime, but never made any head way. After years of turmoil, the people could handle no more, and established a socialist-democracy it began to thrive for some time. However, as the nation grew and fewer people adhered to the ideas of socialism, the government began to groan under its own weight. A few criminal elements took advantage and began dismantling the government for their own use. The five feuding families of old, banded together and cracked down on the criminal organizations, gaining much support from the general populace. Having learned their lesson from the past, they established the government Temacht enjoys today.

Geography:
Overview of the Geography and Climate:
Temacht is a group of islands in the Thousand Island Region, the territory covers 1,841,753 Km squared. Temacht is a geographically diverse nation, housing a variety of climates and biomes within it's boarders. An overview of the climates would be: along the coast are sandy beaches featuring tropical foliage, further inland, elevation rises and flora and fauna begin to resemble sub-tropic, or even temperate zones, deep inland, mountains and pine forests are prevalent. However, each landmass incorporated into Temacht have different climates.

The Eastern landmass, shows some of the greatest diversity. As in the overview, the climate changes with the elevation. However, some valleys on the landmass are devoid of significant rainfall and as such, are deserts. The northern coast of the landmass receives the most precipitation and is quite lush. Further inland, high, rocky mountains and cliffs rise out of the land and block the passage of rain into the valleys beyond. Whilst rivers still cut through the rain parched valleys beyond the northern mountains, if one were to get very far away from these waterways, they will find a desert landscape. On of the most interesting features of the landscape is the rock formations that were exposed and eroded with time. Hoodoos, natural arches, domes, and a variety of other formations dot the desert valleys. On the southern side and coast, precipitation increases once more, to create a more sub-tropic landscape.

The Western landmass, is far better watered than it's eastern counterpart. Its southern coast in framed by a small mountain range, known as the, “Sudwand” (South Wall) Mountains. The Mountains tend to be snow capped during the winter, but tend to more verdant shades during spring and summer. The mountains are well forested, primarily with evergreens, and have a few rocky meadows. Most of the rivers on this land mass originate here from springs or run off. Waterfalls are common here. Moving down to the foot hills, meadows are more abundant with less rocks, and the forests are more deciduous. Rivers, lakes, and streams are more common and broader. Down in the coastal plains, swamps and water features are more abundant, trees seem more tropical in nature, and land is generally more fertile. Most Beaches are sandy, although the further south on the landmass, the more rocky the beach.

The southern string of islands are far less diverse; largely volcanic in nature and very tropical in climate. They tend to have lots of springs, many hot springs, and as a result, waterfalls, rivers and lakes are common. Many of the volcanoes lie dormant, but due to previous eruptions, the land is very fertile.

The Crescent shaped island that lies between the major landmasses is completely artificial. Most of the landscape is urban, save for the few gardens and parks that dot the small island.
