Abortion is legal and so is euthanasia. We achieve real population control however though deathsports, legalized manslaughter, and the fact everyone here is armed, even their cars. The fact my citizens enjoy a shitty diet of fatty foods and legalized drug use that kills more than 60% of the population with heart disease. Last time I looked, around 20% of the population makes it to old age.

Population control is quite simple. Upon entering puberty (determined by the person's doctor), every teenager is mandated to receive contraception implants in their genitals. They're painless to install and have no side effects, but they are 100% effective at preventing pregnancy. This way, everyone's free to fuck to their heart's content without needing to worry about pregnancy.

Should a couple wish to have children (most eventually desire around 2 - 3), they have to sign a waiver and have a surgery to get the contraception implants removed. Once removed, the couple may resume fucking immediately and then bear children. Since it was of the couple's volition that these implants were removed - and, thus, the pregnancy occurred - abortion is illegal in our nation. Children whose parents are incapable of taking care of them are either put up for adoption by families or are adopted by the Regent Board as state wards.

This system allows us to fine-tune population control, whilst still letting the populace express their love for each other without too much intrusion in their private lives.

War with your neighbors, war with competing Clans / Houses, war even with the Universal Temple. Amazing how slowly the population grows when the adult male population is always out and about, conquering their fellow man.

Sadly, with the rise of the Most Serene Republic, our population has been experiencing growth spurts. Our only option now is to establish new colonies and expand out.

Artificial reproduction via eugenics program is the first, foremost and only way of Sidh population control.

It was adopted as a necessity when it became evident that cyber-augmentation and genetic alteration was leading to an increasing number of females becoming unable to conceive. Furthermore, when artificial breeding techniques were perfected, it was determined that such method of reproduction would be far more efficient, enabling a single couple to produce hundreds of offspring every year by simply donating genetic material. Since it only takes around 8 years to grow a Sidh to adult size, augment it and imprint it's mind with all the knowledge necessary to function at an adult capacity, the reproductive potential of the eugenics program is astonishing, allowing to quickly populate new colonies and replenish military losses that would other take decades or even centuries to recover. The eugenics program not only breeds better new generations of Sidhae, but keeps the population at sustainable levels, something difficult to control when using unregulated natural reproduction.

There is no population control. Things like birth control and family planning are readily available but that's pretty obvious to have since we want families to be prepared and people who don't want kids to not have them. Since the cost of living is increasing and the cost of raising a child is also raising many people are choosing not to have children and that has decreased our fertility rate to 1.56 births per woman. We try to maintain a steady rate of population growth by immigration, currently every year around 500,000 immigrants move to Arkiasis.
