After countless long-spans isolated from the greater galactic community, the Danarian Federation has once again taken its proper place as a member of the international community and eagerly opens its borders to all that wish to share in our prosperity. The aim of this program is to start a more open dialogue between peoples, for the enrichment of cultural, economic and scientific wellbeing of the galaxy at large. Below, you will find all the information that your species, nation, or faction, requires to attain a diplomatic residence in the Grand Forum. About the Station and its Diplomatic Ward:
The Grand Forum, as you see it today, is a reproduction of the original station of the same name, built during the Grand First Federation. The original, however, was destroyed when the Jakial occupied the system 1,738 Long-Spans ago, near the beginning of the Jakial War. The new and improved Grand Forum you see today, was completed a mere 488 cycles ago. At 16Km tall, 11.8Km wide and 1.6 Km deep <Terms converted from their native to Metric> the Grand Forum is the largest known space station in the Quadrant, and services hundreds of trade ships daily! Because of this, those peoples that choose to have an embassy on the Grand Forum have unprecedented access to new species, trade-goods and ideas from across the Quadrant and beyond!
The Diplomatic Ward is located between the 2nd from the top pylons, to the 4th pylon to the top, granting diplomats an impressive amount of space and comfort. Ambient Gravity on the station is a comfortable 1.05G (Though within Embassies it may be adjusted by as much as 0.25G) and ambient temperatures can be set from 9C° ~ 31C° within Embassies. Should you require differing levels of gravity, temperature, or an atmosphere other than Nitrogen-Oxygen, special arrangements can and will be made for you, if at all possible! The station is complete with both foot routes and automated transportation, so no outside vehicles are necessary after your arrival.
Diplomatic Immunity:
Registered ambassadors and diplomats will not be prosecuted by the Danarian Justice System. However, we will request that any criminal offense be dealt with in a fair court of law on your own soil, if you wish to maintain a diplomatic presence on the station. We reserve the right to declare any diplomat committing a crime persona non grata and insist upon their removal. Security and support staff are not covered by diplomatic immunity legislation in the Federation, and should there be an issue, said individual(s) will be prosecuted under a tribunal of the Interstellar Trade Confederation.
Station Restrictions:
All hyper-velocity projectile weapons and explosives are prohibited on the station.
Known toxic substances are officially prohibited from trade within the Interstellar Trade Confederation, and though not illegal within embassies, are strongly discouraged without cause. Thus, we urge delegates to use common sense in deciding what to bring along with them.
Slavery and indentured servitude is not recognized within the Federation, and the trading, selling, or exchange of sapient lifeforms is not permitted within Interstellar Trade Confederation space. Any slave or indentured servant requesting amnesty and/or asylum will be granted upon request.
Your retinue will be required to declare any and all non-sapient lifeforms, as well as native food-stock that will be accompanying them, upon arrival.
Applicants Please Note:
Applications from totalitarian or economically repressive nations, those which condone slavery or genocide, may be declined on ideological grounds. The Council of Imperators will decide this on a case-by-case basis. Peoples engaged in such practices are strongly encouraged to provide extra information in support of their application!
It should be noted that Synthetic Minds - Commonly known as 'Artificial Intelligences' outside the Federation - are not permitted within Federation Space at this time. [This ruling does not apply to non-sapient computer programs, or 'Virtual Intelligences'.] Factions comprised of members of synthetic origins need not apply. Factions utilizing 'AI', are requested to provide extra information regarding their use of 'AI' in their application. Furthermore, 'AI' are not allowed upon the Grand Forum, or within embassies thereupon. We also ask those peoples possessing them to please keep them confined to their ship and prevent them from connecting directly with any civilian, or military networks within Federation space.
Delegates from societies whose technical level is different than our own; the Interstellar Trade Confederation and the Danarian Federation restrict the export of its technology. Any attempt to illegally acquire said technologies waives your rights of diplomatic immunity and may be considered an act of war, under the Trade Confederation's anti-espionage policies. Those found guilty in a court of law of illegally attempting to export technology will be executed.
