Governor-General Pu Sang Jun toasting the future of The Commonwealth.

- (Goldglass, Freyhill) Although Riots throughout Goldglass in response to the Constitutional Crisis earlier this week have since died out; Governor-General Pu Sang Jung has just addressed Freyhillians through a Commonwealth Address to ensure citizens that their political rights will be adhered to by the newly installed administration. Furthermore, Governor-General Pu Sang has reinstated the Liberal/National Coalition on the condition of snap elections; prompting the Commonwealth Government to return into caretaker mode.

Pu Sang’s move comes after one of the biggest Constitutional Crisis’ of Commonwealth History; with thousands of Freyhillians storming towards the Commonwealth Diet in response to the change of government by former Governor-General Pyon Jung Min. Furthermore, Freyhillians attacked Pyon Jung Min and the Labor Party on higher levels of governmental corruption displayed in the “Corrupt Freyhill” EsquariLeaks report throughout social media; With an overwhelming majority of Freyhillians in polls believing that Pyon Jung Min should face the wrath of the Judicial system. Although it's not all bad news; With a large percentage of Freyhillians believing that the now incumbent Governor-General (Pu Sang Jung) believing that his appointment is a blessing from the Emperor Incumbent of The Serene Empire of Tuthina.

Throughout the Commonwealth, Freyhillians are preparing to vote in “Snap Elections”; Though what are they? Snap Elections were introduced alongside Primaries in Won Chi Hun’s Amendment of The Commonwealth Electoral Act to ensure shorter elections in the event of Constitutional Crisis. Furthermore, Snap Elections exclude Primaries; Prompting Snap Elections Campaigns to range in time of what General Federal Elections were before The Commonwealth Electoral Act amendment earlier this year.

Ganev VI condemns Riroese "intrusion" in protests
Image
Duke Ganev VI of Trifonov

BAICHENG, TRIFONOV - As protests continue to grow over the realignment plan, with the bill currently in committee, Duke Ganev VI made an address to the Legislature, primarily to explain the intentions of the plan, in hopes of assuaging concerns among the ethnic Namorese population in Trifonov regarding the plan.

Duke Ganev VI said that "The intention of this act is not to sideline the Namorese community. The intention of the act is to streamline the government, to reduce the costs of maintaining a multitude of municipalities: we want to reduce the number from 192 municipalities down to sixteen municipalities."

"The newfound efficiency shall allow the Namorese community to increase their role, contrary to the fears of the Namorese community," he declared. "The new municipalities will provide more opportunities to serve the community, to increase the role of the Namorese population here in Trifonov. Right now, the small municipalities mean that Namorese officials are unable to gain much stature, and so they remain powerless."

The Duke attacks Riro
Ganev VI however spoke out against Riro's "unwelcome" intrusion, saying that "these protests only affect Trifonov: they are none of your concern. The fact that your government is exploiting this situation to encourage the immigration of the Namorese population towards your country worries me, because the people of Trifonov voted to have more autonomy in Katranjiev two years ago."

"We now have the autonomy that was promised to us in the referendum, and few of us seek to join a nation who had to be bailed out by Namor in the first year," Ganev VI declared. "I can safely say that few people would take up the offer to move to your nation."

On the streets...
Duke Ganev VI's speech was met with skepticism among the Namorese community, especially in the capital city of Baicheng, where the protests have grown to a point that Liberation Square is packed. Banners advocating the bill to be voted against or otherwise dropped have been springing up, as well as chants like "NO TO THE REFORM!"

27-year old security guard Wei Jung explained "The claim made by the Duke that us Namorese can get more representation makes no sense! If you reduce the number of municipalities, you end up with less representation, not more." However, he still is loyal to Katranjiev: Jung said that "I got no plans on abandoning my job, my home, and my family. I may have voted for sovereignty, but I ain't gonna give up my life. I'll fight to change the situation."

Mayor Alicia Wen of Yutang stated that "I am still opposed to the proposed legislation to change the number of municipalities. The arguments made by the Duke seems completely illogical and is a façade for the real intentions of the bill: to sideline the Namorese community." Already, the Yutang Mayor's Office has planned to file a court challenge regarding the realignment plan under the grounds of racism by merging Namorese-majority communities with Katranjian-majority communities.

But we found a few people in the rally who wanted to leave for Riro: Hui Guojen said that "I no longer feel safe here. I fear that if I stay in Trifonov, we will become a minority. It's best for me to jump ship now than to risk being persecuted by the Slavs in the future. I plan on moving me and my family to Riro as soon as possible."

With new constitution approved, Governor calls for local and legislative elections
Image

After the Aininian National Assembly voted for and approved the constitutional draft on Thursday, acting Governor Alain Bergeron officially announced the Territorial Council’s final decision before its closure to call the first elections for both local and legislative representation.

Stating that the approval of the constitution, referred to in the National Assembly as the Pisdari Free-Association Constitution Act, is welcomed, Governor Bergeron and the fifteen deputies of the provisional government declared that new elections on both the national and local level will occur from June 24-25, electing fifty-seven municipal councilors and mayors and twenty-three deputies to the new Legislature. These elections will be the first in Pisdara to use single transferable vote, and the non-partisan government organization Pisdara Votes! is encouraging citizens to register political groupings and individual candidacies to kickstart Pisdara re-emerging democracy.

Although the Pisdari Free-Association Constitution Act has yet not been officially signed by President Cao Nima, and will possibly not be until further into next week, the exiting Territorial Council has confirmed that it plans to hold new elections. “It is wise to start now and get issues such as registration out of the way. By the time Nima signs the Act next week, we will still have enough time. Besides, its remains a mere formality.” Stated Bergeron.

ELECTION 2016: Sønderland’s Future is at Stake.
With Sønderland’s political fracturing, the state faces an uncertain future.

SØNDERBERG - On June 10th, the state of Sønderland will hold an election for the Presidency and the 170 seats on the State Council. However much more is at stake; it is an effective referendum on Sønderland’s future in Vajorr. The 2016 elections in Sønderland will go down as one of the most important and unpredictable elections in national history.

Last month the Liberals, Social Democrats, Nationals, and several other federal parties did not register with the Federal Electoral Commission for Sønderland’s election. These parties will not appear on the ballot in June. Instead exclusively native Sønderlandic parties will contest, a first time for any state election. There are a total of eleven parties to contest at the election.

The political climate is not only split on the traditional left-right political spectrum, but it is also divided by those who want Sønderland to remain within Vajorr (federalists), those who want Sønderlandic independence, and those who want unification with Vjaarland. There are a total of eleven political parties with various ideologies vying for seats on the state’s legislature and the position of State’s President.

The federalist camp is lead by the Sønderlandic Red-Greens, a social democratic and green party supporting Sønderlandic autonomy within Vajorr. The party supports expanded welfare system, more workers rights, and other traditional social democratic positions. In addition the party advocates for increased Sønderlandic autonomy while still remaining Vajorr. However there are two parties who also support a more radical platform; the Vajorrian Resistance Movement (SWB) and the Socialist Worker's Party of Sønderland. The SWB is a fascist nationalistic party who is determined to keep Sønderland within Vajorr at all costs. The Worker’s Party is a communist party who wants to start a communist revolution in the entire country.

The independence faction is lead by the Sønderlandic National People's Party. It is a radical right and nationalist political party similar to the Vajorrian Freedom Party. It is against multiculturalism, immigration, and globalism. It seeks an independence referendum and the creation of an independent Sønderlandic nation. The unification faction is led by the Vjaarlandic People’s Party who seeks Sønderland’s reunification with the Vjaarlandic Confederation. It is very similar to the Vjaarlandic National Party in platform and policies. It is significantly more conservative than the Red-Greens but less than the Nationals.

- (Goldglass, Freyhill) Although Governor-General Pu Sang announced Snap Elections on the 27th, Electoral writs were issued today by the Governor-General at The Commonwealth Diet’s “Grand Entrance”. Therefore, Politicians throughout the political spectrum are now permitted to campaign tirelessly throughout the Commonwealth to either maintain or gain influence in the House of Representatives and effectively; The Commonwealth Government. Although this election may be a “Snap Election”, Freyhillians across Esquarium are monitoring this election closely; with the election predicted to be extremely close at the end.

Tensions in Goldglass are certainly showing as Mats Lundgren and Myo Sung rushes to boost start their electoral campaign throughout the electoral campaign. Prime Minister Mats Lundgren alongside Nationals Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Won Chi Hun left for Rural Rawang this morning to associate with Milk and Beef Farmers; Farmers who are vital for the Nationals Campaign’s momentum. Whereas Opposition Leader Myo Sung left for Pohae; the strongest Liberal Province throughout the Commonwealth and homeland of the Prime Minister. Furthermore, Myo Sung has begun the “Spend-O-Meter” closely associated with Labor Campaigns; with the Opposition Leader promising funding for an upgrade of the Saricheok Motorway. Although Myo Sung is working tirelessly, Pollsters predict little change in Pohae; Particularly in its capital, Saricheok.

Although Mats Lundgren, Won Chi Hun and Myo Sung has stolen the electoral spotlight; The Minor Parties have unleashed their first electoral promises to attempt to gain momentum throughout the Commonwealth. One Nation Leader Karolina Crusenstolpe has announced reformed Immigration Policy in response to the current global tensions after the Francilie attacks earlier this year and has stated that One Nation will “operate as a safeguard for The Freyhillian People in The Senate”. Whereas Environmentalists Leader Funai Tami set off their campaign with “Innovative, Sustainable Futures for Freyhill”; most notably their pledge to install electric vehicle charging stations throughout the nation.

Chapeaux VI Naval Exercises Start in Northwestern Continental Waters

Cedarbrookese, Korivanian, and Montecaran Ships in Chapeaux VI

Today the Chapeaux VI Naval Exercises started, a coordinated effort among the Kramden and SOE allies Korivania and Montecara. Naval Affairs correspondent Shmulek Lavoisier has live coverage aboard the WCNS Bardiu, in Montecara Bay

" Naval forces and liaisons from West Cedarbrook, Montecara and Korivania began The Chapeaux Excises VI today, through air defense collaboration. The series of exercises off the coasts of Montecara and Korivania this year, under the aegis of the SOE will consist of components of Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBS&S), Surface Warfare Maneuvers, Anti-submarine warfare, Gunnery training, Air defense, Advance SOE coordination and operational capacity, Liason officer professional exchanges, and a Communications exercise. Chapeaux VI will extend in the northwestern Conitian waters for the next two months.

The featured air defense collaboration cooperation consists of aircraft carrier WCNS Bardiu, Carrier Airwing P-2, Yavne-class guided-missile cruiser WCNS Fenwick and a Korivanian frigate.

Chapeaux is an annual event designed to enhance naval cooperation through engagement with SOE and friendly powers, while demonstrating Cedarbrookese presence in seas proximate to Conitia.

"We launched aircraft from Bardiu to simulate scenarios to exercise the Montecaran's self-defense," said Lt. Moishe Flaigel, Fenwick's air defense officer. "It supports the overall Chapeaux exercise by sharing how we control aircraft and learning how the Korivanian navy controls their aircraft. We're up on the same voice circuit, so it's a nice opportunity to collaborate and compare and contrast our procedures. We've sent liaison officers to the Korivanian vessels and welcomed their officers aboard our vessels as well to observe and learn."

Flaigel embarked Bardiu as a liaison officer to the Fenwick to help facilitate the coordination.

"My captain's responsibility is air defense of the strike group," he said. "I pass along the word from the strike group to help coordinate between the needs of the strike group and that of my commanding officer."

Capt. Chaim Roberts, Fenwick's commanding officer, welcomed liaison officers from both Chapeaux participants aboard and was pleased with the collaboration so far.

"I've been very impressed by the professionalism and maritime skill of our Korivanian and Montecaran navy partners, and the Fenwick crew is enjoying this unique opportunity," said Roberts. "The air defense portion kicked off a great first underway day for the Chapeaux exercise. The purpose of this particular exercise was to build familiarity and appreciation for the capabilities each of the participating navies brings to the modern air defense environment with a special emphasis on control of fighter aircraft."

The exercise allowed for hand-in-hand, shared communication to learn from each other.

"... As overall observers to manage the exercise ...," said Fenwick's Senior Chief Fire Controlman Jeremiah Belforte. "... we learned a lot about the willingness to learn from our partner nations and they performed excellently under the guidance of the tasking at hand."

Planning for the exercise began long before any of the partners embarked to the other's vessels. Lt. Cmdr. Marie Ducloix, Bardiu's future plans and staff meteorological and oceanographic officer, started coordination in March via video teleconferencing.

"We've got a lot of different events planned," said Ducloix, "We have air defense exercises, gunnery training, anti-submarine warfare events with Korivanian and Cedarbrookese submarines, along with a dry hook up with an Montecaran oiler and a war-at-sea exercise.

"This exercise is a big deal to the Cedarbrookese, Korivanian, and Montecaran navies," said Ducloix. "We are three democratic countries that are working together to strengthen our military relationships as well as the relationships between our nations. The success of these exercises is important especially considering the effort, planning and resources put into this exercise for these great navies to work together."

Chapeaux is a continuing series of complex, high-end war fighting exercises conducted to advance multi-national maritime relationships and mutual security. It will include collaboration between Bardiu, Fenwick, Antepoiye-class Corvette WCNS Jean Malleuel, Saumon-class submarine WCNS Okon, three Korivanian destroyers, a Montecaran Navy fleet tanker, a Montecaran guided missile frigate and Montecaran Navy destroyer, and a Korivanian diesel-electric submarine.

Bardiu is operating in the Western Continental area of operations as part of remote deployment en route to its new homeport in Port Charles to complete a two-carrier homeport shift.

First Minister Yuan Xianniann to resign in July
By Fu Bingbing

Image
The First Minister and Chairman of the governing Xiaodong Regeneration Society, Yuan Xianniann, has announced today that he will resign from the post of First Minister sometime in July this year before the Autumn general election. In a speech made at a Regeneration Society conference, Yuan stated that after 10 years as First Minister he was "ready to see the next generation of Xiaodongese leaders take the mantle of protectors of the National Principlist movement." Yuan however has confirmed he will continue to serve as the Chairman of the Regeneration Society.

"After 10 years at the helm of Xiaodongese politics, I believe that we have succeeded in our programme of growth and reform. However, one can only oversee this process for so long, and it is for this reason that I am announcing that I will not continue as First Minister for much longer" Mr Yuan said in what as been seen as an unexpected announcement.

Mr Yuan, who has served as First Minister since 2005, announces his planned resignation four months ahead of the September general elections which will see Xiaodongese citizens elect a new State Presidium. Current opinion polls project that the Regeneration Society will lose its legislative majority mainly to the opposition United Democratic Appeal (UDA). This is the first time in Xiadongese o history since the introduction of democratic elections in 1988 that the Regeneration Society have been projected to lose their majority.

Since Mr Yuan was appointed Regeneration Society Chairman in 2005, Xiaodong politics have changed drastically. The face of the new right movement in Xiaodong - a loose grouping of those in favour of historical revisionism, greater state control of the economy and a hardline anti-Senrian stance - Mr Yuan ended the consensus politics established in the 1980's which had strengthened the dang wangluo system of corruption whilst launching the most ambitious economic reform in Xiaodongese history in the form of the New Economic Policy (NEP). Under Mr Yuan the popular (yet controversial) privatisation programme was expanded alongside state regulations and free tradewith the economy having grown continually since 2006 as well as crime being dramatically reduced thanks to tough law and order policies. However, Mr Yuan has been accused of circumventing media freedoms and being intolerant of political opposition especially after marginalising former State Chairman Jiang Zhongyu.

Who will be his successor?
Image
Current Second Minister Xi Yao-tong
Since Mr Yuan announced his planned resignation, several potential Regeneration Society figures have been floated as possible successors. Most prominently are current Second Minister Xi Yao-tong, Presiding Officer of the State Presidium Zhao Guanping and former State Chairperson Jiang Zhongyu.

Current Second Minister Xi yao-tong is seen as the favourite to succeed Mr Yuan as First Minister. Xi (aged 54), who currently represents the District of Jixian in the State Presidium, is identified as being a core supporter of Yuan's policies advocating for economic planning and centralisation, but better ties with Xiaodong's neighbours and toning down historical revisionism. Xi has served as Second Minister since 2006, a role often seen as the anointed successor to the First Minister. However, because Yuan is not stepping down from the Regeneration Society's chairmanship this may not be the case.

Zhao Guanping is also tipped as one of the more likely successors of Mr Yuan. A party conservative, Mr Zhao is commonly seen as a staunch supporter of Mr Yuan's policies, retaining his hardline anti-Senrian stance and supporting historical revisionism whilst also being a "princeling" like Yuan, something the working class Xi lacks.

Former State Chairperson Jiang Zhongyu (currently representing the Daqing District) is considered to be a possible dark horse for the party chairmanship. Once seen as Han Guanzheng's natural successor, Mr Jiang is still seen favourably by the public and party elders within the regeneration Society. If elected, Mr Jiang would almost certainly implement political reforms long neglected by Mr Yuan's administration as well as continue the economic reforms. However, the dominance of Mr Yuan's allies within the upper echelons of the Regeneration Society will likely impend Mr Jiang's chances of clinching the party chairmanship.

How did the opposition react?
Leader of the Opposition and People's Party President Hu Wenjuan called Mr Yuan's announcement "good news" stating that "since 2006, Yuan has acted as a dictator unleashing enormous social damage on the Xiaodongese people whilst seeing a net rise in poverty, unemployment and inequality", and expressing hope that with Yuan's resignation Xiaodong will become more democratic.

Alliance for Democracy leader Kang Yongqing has also agreed that Yuan's announcement is a welcome sign, and has claimed that the Regenration Society "is finally starting to realise that its corrupt policies and perpetuation of the dang wangluo is no longer going to be seen as acceptable by the Xiao people." However, Alliance co-leader Chen Qianshi has emphasised that although Yuan's departure is a significant blow to the Regeneration Society's power, "that doesn't mean that the Regeneration Society should be forgiven for Yuan's mistakes" and that Yuan is still the chairman of the Regeneration Society and as such the de facto leader of Xiaodong.

DEVELOPED NEWS Polls show Lundgren way, way ahead in Freyhillian snap election
Image
The Liberals and Mats Lundgren are ahead - way ahead (Source: Freyhillian Post)

Goldglass, Freyhill - The latest poll released by Freyhillian television shows that the Liberals, led by Prime Minister Mats Lundgren, have the support of 140 percent of the Freyhillian population, placing them in an undeniable path towards victory.

The poll comes less than two weeks before Freyhillians cast their votes in a snap election that was announced after Esquarileaks revealed that the previous election had been corrupted. Although some had predicted that the revelations would damage the Liberals' reputation by just a bit, the numbers tell a different story.

When asked "Which party and candidate do you support governing the Commonwealth?," 140 percent of respondents said Mats Lundgren and the Liberals whereas negative 40 percent of respondents said the Labor candidate - an obscure person whom The Pickle's correspondent in Goldglass tried hard to identify but couldn't because not a single trace of either the candidate or his party could be found in the city streets.

Political scientists are calling the poll a phenomenon, adding that the Freyhillian election has the potential to challenge longstanding assumptions regarding liberal democracies.

"Usually, the only places where presidential or prime ministerial candidates are predicted to win by a very overwhelming landslide are dictatorships like Koyro. You expect election results in democracies to be less lopsided. But if Mats Lundgren can pull off a crushing victory even after his party had just expelled a convicted prime minister and won a skewed election, all in a country where secret police and detention centers are non-existent, then this is unprecedented. We may have to reassess our view of the democratic system," said Odin Hardage of the University of Talon.

But others say this phenomenon will not gain a lot of attention simply because there are other, more important issues Freyhillian voters are contending with.

"Like, are they even Monic? All their politicians appear to be white people," said Josef Hammock, a noted current events commentator from the Ocelot Isles.

Drinking buddies Antelope, Cao hang out at bar
Namo, Capital District - At the Sea Men bar in downtown Namo, Namorese President-General Shohai Antelope and Aininian President Cao Nima were spotted taking shots and flirting with women - acts that the Executive House later said were supposed to reaffirm both countries' common commitment to their mutual drinking buddyship.
Image
Shohai Antelope (left) and Cao Nima (right) having a good time

The Pickle's political correspondent, who was at the bar, reports to have seen President-General Antelope and President Cao hanging out with a crowd of women while holding beer bottles in both hands. The two are said to have locked Namorese Foreign Minister Pao Venzong and Aininian Foreign Minister Remy Micheaux in the restroom before commencing their good time together. Electronic music was playing loudly in the background while Antelope and Cao drank, making it hard for the correspondent to grasp what the two leaders were saying.

"Hey...er...Shohai, I know we're messing around...here, but...wanna talk about how to...further...[hiccup]...contain the Qianrongese and their...nukes?" Cao was heard saying. It was evident that the Aininian head of state had taken a high number of shots, although our correspondent was unable to make out exactly how many he took.

"These damn..[hiccup]..Sissy-Qs," President-General Antelope, who had also taken a number of shots before the exchange occurred. "What we gotta do, Nima...is..[hiccup]..we...load a bunch of beer bottles on our planes...and...then we lunge them from the sky at them. We might be able to destroy their...weapons with our bottles!" Antelope took a shot.

"Good...idea!" Cao responded, taking another shot before continuing. "We...[hiccup]...Aininians can do our part, too. We can...er...[hiccup]...send our Nautasian suicide bombers...[hiccup]...you know, the ones we caught a few months back...[hiccup]...we send them to the island and...[hiccup]...they blow up. And...[hiccup]...we attach them with nukes, so millions die!"

The two leaders laughed, but were cut off by the sound of an airhorn and old school music, which they started dancing to. Afterwards, security found our corresponding snooping around and removed him from the bar.

EBF Championship Race Fires Up
Who Will Make It to the First Multi-Team Edition of the Cup?

Unolian Major Baseball:

Well, it won't be Luziyca's Jerusalem Swedes, that's for sure. The experimental expansion team that plays in the United League's Southern Division was eliminated earlier this week, and currently holds a win-loss record of 48-95. They'll need to win two more games out of the remainder of their schedule, or else they'll exceed the Amespark Union's 1983 record of 112 losses to be the worst team in Unolian Major Baseball History.

Switching leagues now over to the Unolian League and the Garapple Yellows practically have their division locked up with their record of 109 wins and 34 losses. With nineteen games left in the season, they need to win seventeen of those games to beat the 1990 Montway Rebellion record for most wins ever in professional baseball history. If they want to simply beat the Unolian League record, the standard drops to only fourteen. In the Unolian League North Division, the magic number is at three for Garapple. The Chesterdale Fortsguards still are technically in it, seventeen games behind Garapple.

The most contentious race in UMB is the United League's North Division, where defending Unolian Champions Brookopolis Lightning (87-55), can't get the Plaincroll Brawlers (84-59) off their backs. Plaincroll is definitely hungry for it as they haven't seen a playoff appearance since 1988. Technically, all teams in that division besides the recently added Milopolis Shark (43-100), are still in the race, but it seems like a two horse competition.

The Unolian League South, objectively the most mediocre division this year, has the Perryslayne Patriots (78-64) seeking to get their first Division Championship since 2006, when they also went on to win the Unolia Series. The defending Division Champions, the Roosmore ABCs, are statistically eliminated from contention, with a 55-87 record.

Aininian League:

The playoffs are set with nine games to go. The Hartly Prowlers (90-51) and the Radisson Silver Wolves (88-53) clinched their respective Conferences in the inaugural season. They will meet in two weeks for a best of five Aininian Championship Series, which will determine the first Aininian representative to the Esquarian Club Baseball Cup.

Namorese Major Leagues:

Surprisingly no team in Esquarian City.

The Namor Series begins in two days as the Lau Runners of the People's League will face off against the Arra Speed Devils of the All-Namor League. The two leagues were reformed after joining the Esquarian Baseball Federation. Qi-Zhen Ouyang (Haidi Red Stockings) took home the batting title of Namor, with a phenomenal .345 batting average. Zhaodao Chan (Lau Runners) was named the new Home Run King of Namor, with 35 HRs on the season.

The winner of the Namor Series will go on to the Esquarian Club Championships as Namor's inaugural representative.

Freyhill League:

The largest round-robin style league in the EBF is still up for grabs at press time.

After being behind most of the season, the defending Freyhill and Esquarian Champions Choneung Blowfish (73-51) have come back to have a five game lead against the presumed winners Sinhung Blackhawks (68-56). With 22 games left, our statistics manager game the Blowfish a 93.1% chance of winning the league for an eighth consecutive time, proving that they are, in fact, a dynasty.

Technically, all teams in the league are still in contention.

Roubao League:

The most controversial expansion league in the EBF, the thought of a Jahistic Unolian team playing a Roubao team on each other soil is the scariest reality of the expansion.

Roubao City Blazers clinched the title easily with a record of 70-50. Since their winning percentage was only .583, it seems certain that they will have to play in a three game qualifier. Also, since their hitting champion, Jing Luo of Roubao City, only batted .286, it's hard to think that they'll get far in the actual tournament.

Pisdari League:

And the team the Blazers will likely have to face is the Zalalal Red Dogs from Pisdara. The Red Dogs put up a record of 48-43 to win their title, a remarkably low .527 winning average. This will be their first appearance in the Club Cup.

POLITICS: FRINGE CONSERVATIVE CALLS CONSUL GENERAL MARIES A BITCH, AGAIN
Michael Gavils, a radical conservative nationalist calls Consul General a bitch for the second time
June, 1, 2016 (9:03)

Image
Gavils during a rally

Michael Gavils, the mayor of Junae and an executive member of the National Populist Party has called Consul General Juillet Maries a bitch, for the second time in just 48 hours! The whole of the incident was started at a political rally Gavils hosted to help boost his re-election cause. During which he said -
Consul General Maries claims to a true Conservative who fights for conservative values. But I don't think so. She , a member of the Conservative-Liberal Party, has repeatedly said that she would stand for true conservatism. But again and again we see Maries being pushed toward liberal and communist ideas. Again and again we see her compromising with the liberals! She isn't even compromising with the people in her own government coalition! Scandal, corruption, insider politics is everything she knows. She is a liar, a thief, a scumbag and a bitch."

These comments were taken with great condemnation by members of the coalition and even members of his own party. Consideration to suspend him was almost issued with five ayes, six nays, and one abstain. However, the crowd took it with thundering applause and cheers. Many have took to social media to commend Gavils. It appears that the coalition is more scared over a breaking of coalition unity rather than the comments.

You'd think that Gavils would have learned his lesson, but no. Today on local news, Gavils reiterated his comments and supported his claim even when faced with the threat of suspension. Again, public support for him grew. Two hours later, the National Populist Party executive board issued the suspension unanimously.

This isn't the first time Gavils has name-called. In 2015, he called the Deputy Consul General a 'liberal gaylover' and called the Chief Procurator a "retarded bastard." You would think this guys political career would be over, but no, he's only getting more popular. Gavils political career is just as controversial as his speech. In 1988, Gavils was elected to the House of Magistrates as a member of the National Populist Party. He soon took on a reputation of being outspoken, rude, and having no regard for the rules. He rose to the top of the party even being considered for party leadership. However, in 1996, after a scandal with the Ethics Committee, Gavils did not seek reelection. In 2001, Gavils sought election for mayor has won all three times. His term was riddled with tax cuts, austerity and social conservatism.
Maries has declined to comment on Gavils statements and no statement has been made regarding the comments. However, the administration is obviously disgusted. So, what comes next? Is he going to call the Emperor a liberal abortionlover?

Johannes Sikari inaugurated as President of Sinhako
June 3, 2016

Image
Headshot of Johannes Sikari
PRASANTA, SINHAKO - Nationalist Party candidate and president-elect Johannes Sikari has been sworn in as Sinhako's first President, taking the position after over one year under the rule of interim president Helga Duta.

During his inauguration ceremony, Sikari was surrounded by countless supporters and members of his government, who would later be inaugurated as cabinet ministers. He took the presidential oath just outside of the Sinhakese Congress, where he swore to remain loyal to Sinhako, defend the rights and integrity of Sinhakese citizens, and maintain his responsibilities as president.

In his in auguration speech Sikari declared that he "will make Sinhako a true safe zone for the Shudri, one that is capable of securing its borders and citizens from racism". He also promised that under his leadership, "every single Shudri and non-Shudri will be under one banner as equal Sinhakese citizens," despite allegations of racism against Ocelotians and favoritism towards Shudri.

"Racism is the force that prosecuted the Shudri for many generations," Sikari said, "but as a new chapter in our nation's history unfolds, I will ensure that equality prevails over racism. With me in power, no unjust division shall split Sinhako apart nor submit us to unjust whims."

Sikari did not directly address controversial projects or motions that he cited during his campaign, most notably the proposed Sinhakese-Ocelotian wall. He said that "security of Sinhako, at the border and within the border, will be one of my top priorities," but he did not explicitly refer to the wall or other measures such as carding.

Helga Duta, who was present during Sikari's inauguration ceremony, said she "wishes the best of luck for Sikari as the new leader of Sinhako." Duta is to serve as the leader of the Labour Party, now the opposition party in the new congressional session. Aside from Duta, opposition leaders Markos Putrivaya and Durga D'Arpino offered heartwarming words for Sikari.

The Nationalist Party narrowly defeated the Labour Party in Sinhako's first elections on May 6, securing 128 districts compared to the latter's 124. The party formed a minority government, which is likely to encounter fierce opposition from three other parties.

One Nation Campaign ad; Authorised by Karolina Crusenstolpe.

- (Goldglass, Freyhill)Although we have just entered the 2016 Snap Election Campaign, political support is quickly picking up momentum throughout the nation. Therefore, its vital for the major parties and their leaders to build their campaign platforms quickly. Lundgren’s Liberal/National Coalition is “Right on the money” with their campaigning; with the Prime Minister recently announcing the “Modernisation of The Serene Forces of The Commonwealth”. Whereas Labor leader Myo Sung has been campaigning on Health & Education reform.

Both Lundgren & Sung have been working tirelessly across the electoral field to secure much needed marginal seats and effectively the realms to the Commonwealth Government. Therefore it's vital for both leaders to promote their the benefits their party policy brings to the voter. Lundgren has started the Coalition’s campaigning alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Nationals Leader Won Chi Hun in rural electorates across the nation; campaigning along the Coalition’s lines of supporting Small Business, Agriculture & Innovation.

Whereas Labor Leader Myo Sung has left Liberal Stronghold Pohae to target the Electorates of The Province of Kusan. Furthermore, Sung visited the University of Saricheok during his visit in Pohae; with the opposition leader expected to continue his visits to educational facilities throughout the electoral campaign. It's all about repairing “The Liberties of Twoksan” according to Labor’s campaign platform; with Labor President Oh Sang Chol hoping that “The Freyhillian people will wake up from the mess of the Former Jong-Ji Administration”.

Karolina Crusenstolpe has also launched One Nation’s “Protectionist Aspect” of their campaign platform during community Meet & Greets in her electorate of Congnan. Furthermore, Crusenstolpe is quoted to say “Freyhillians are sickened by the amount of Toll Roads in Freyhill’s road system”. Crusenstolpe is expected to announce the rest of One Nation’s campaign platform later this week during their campaign launch.

Lundgren & Sung are set to “Fight for the future of Freyhill” during the 1st Leaders Debate on Chaeneol Yeonbang tomorrow night. Lundgren is predicted to seek a mandate for supporting Innovation & Defence, whilst Sung is expected to ask Freyhillians to vote for Labor to fix the “Liberties of Twoksan” such as Health & Education. Furthermore, Won Chi Hun & Nu Kwan will meet later this week in a “Deputy Leaders People Forum”.

Debris has begun filling the streets nearby and more fires have reportedly started as a result of the collapse. The collapse is broadcast live on television from the chopper-cam.

THE WAR IS OVER!
Negotiations conclude with Treaty of Szimóngôcz; major reforms agreed upon, Juchany I to abdicate, elections slated for July 5

Image
Fireworks being lit in Ricérzów to celebrate the conclusion of the Second Civil War.

June 3, 2016 | Szimóngôcz, Lecistan - The Second Lecistani Civil War has ended after 7 months, 2 weeks and 5 days with the signing of the Treaty of Szimóngôcz by leaders of the Second Lecistani Republic, Grand Duchy of Lecistan, Nevan Realm, and other associated parties earlier today in Szimóngôcz. In addition to ending the conflict, the treaty sets the framework for the dissolution of the Second Republic, major reforms to the government of the Grand Duchy of Lecistan, internationally-monitored emergency elections to be held in roughly a month, and the abdication of Grand Duke Juchany I in favor of his granddaughter, Katariina Kaarenmaa-Hennala, Grand Duchess of Kaarenmaa and Princess of Palomar.

The Second Lecistani Civil War began on October 15, 2015, when, in the wake of an election rigged by then-President Jóvanne-Márco Sáltucéri and a brutal campaign of repression by troops loyal to Nevanmaa and the Grand Duchy, the Solidarity Alliance declared the Grand Duchy government illegitimate and named Solidarity Alliance leader Łukôsz Grzéskowicz as President of the Second Republic of Lecistan. Far-rightist leader Wicus Wilczewski and his National Socialist People's Community for Lecistani Revivalism operated their own rival government, the Lec Social Republic, until Wilczewski was captured by forces loyal to the Second Republic on November 4, 2015. At its peak, many feared that the war could potentially destabilize Conitia and possibly even Esquarium as a whole. A ceasefire had been in place for an extended period of time, but the brutality of the conflict had left much of Lecistan in ruins and the uncertain nature of Lecistan's governance and future had hampered reconstruction and reconciliation.

The Treaty of Szimóngôcz is something as a compromise for both sides, with neither the monarchists nor the republicans being able to claim total victory. The treaty does establish the Grand Duchy as the legitimate government of Lecistan, and stipulates the Second Republic will be dissolved. Tobéasz Dunôjski will remain acting president for the time being. Nevanmaa will be allowed to keep one division of troops within Lecistan.

But in many ways, the treaty is a massive victory for the Lecistani people and for the Solidarity Alliance. While the Lecistani throne will continue to exist, it will no longer be held by Juchany I; as part of the treaty, he will abdicate in favor of his granddaughter, who will become Grand Duchess Katarzyna I, on July 5, 2016. Furthermore, executive authority will now rest in the hands of the President, not the monarch; the monarchy will effectively be reduced to a figurehead role. Freedom of thought, speech, petition, assembly, and press have all been guaranteed, as have free and fair trials, the right to a legal defense, and protection from exorbitant fines and torture. The punishment for lese majestie has been significantly reduced. Suffrage, once limited to males with a certain amount of wealth, is now extended to all Lecistanis- regardless of gender- over the age of 21. Protections have been established to guarantee the rights of ethnic, religious, and linguistic minorities. In lieu of reparations, Nevanmaa has promised to support the reconstruction of Lecistan. And fair, open, internationally-monitored elections for the Royal Chamber are slated to be held on July 5.

And there are several features palatable to both sides. A general amnesty for supporters of both the Grand Duchy and the Second Republic has been declared, meaning that the thousands of Lecistani dissidents jailed in Lecistan and Nevanmaa will be able to return home- though supporters of Jóvanne-Márco Sáltucéri and the Lec Social Republic are not included. The Governor-General of Lecistan and Lec Secretary for State in Nevanmaa will continue to exist, serving diplomatic roles by conveying Nevanmaa's concerns to Szimóngôcz and Lecistan's concerns to Nevanlinna, respectively. Och Lekkëbë, the national anthem of the Grand Duchy, will become the royal anthem while the Piesniô Lekkëbã, the anthem of the Second Republic, will become the national anthem. And perhaps most notably, a new flag for Lecistan- a simple gold-and-blue bicolor- has been created.

Speaking after the signing of the treaty, Solidarity Alliance leader Łukôsz Grzéskowicz said that he believed the Treaty of Szimóngôcz was "the first step towards bringing about a better, freer Lecistan". "We have been able to bring about massive reform in Lecistan- reform that will hopefully guarantee freedom for generations of Lecistanis," Grzéskowicz told a group of reporters. "We are now faced with the task of rebuilding our homeland, and working together towards reconciliation." Interim President Tobéasz Dunôjski also praised the treaty, saying that he was "incredibly grateful to see [his] homeland no longer at war with itself."

With the civil war over, and reconstruction to begin, Lecistan's future is looking up, say many analysts. "With the uncertainty of military conflict gone, we should soon no doubt be seeing boosts to the economy and the recovery of wages and living conditions," one economist told Trzëfarwa. Analysts have also expressed hope for the success of the new Lecistani government. "The Second Lecistani Civil War might have been devastating, and divisive, but the Treaty of Szimóngôcz is a good compromise and a solid foundation for a new government," wrote political sciences professor Jerzy Michôłski in an opinion piece.

The signing of the treaty was also greeted by widescale celebrations across Lecistan. "I'm so glad that the war is over once and for all," an inhabitant of Szimóngôcz told Trzëfarwa reporters. "I'm looking forward to being able to live without fear." A citizen of Brzny, which served as the de facto capital of the Second Republic, said they were thrilled with the promise of general amnesty. "My son was arrested by the Nevans in October, and I haven't seen him since," he told us. "But with amnesty, he should be coming home again soon. I can't wait to see him again." Others were more excited with other provisions of the treaty. "I'm looking forward to voting in the upcoming emergency elections," a female inhabitant of Ricérzów told us. "I've finally got my rights. I can't wait to use them."

Emergency elections, open to all Lecistanis over the age of 21, will be held July 5, 2016. July 5 will also see Juchany I abdicate in favor of Katarzyna I.

An unforgivable crime, President offers economic, moral support to affected nations
Image
President Sera Svensson

BETHLEHEM, F.C. - In light of the terrorist attacks in the Nordanian nations of Vjaarland, Lyonsland, and Arkaisis, President Sera Svensson has made an emergency announcement on national television, condemning the terrorist attacks and offering moral and economic support to all of the Nordanian nations who have suffered through these attacks.

Svensson stated that "This morning, an unforgivable crime has been committed. In various cities across Nordania... in Vjaarland, in Lyonsland, and in Arkiasis, terrorists have committed crimes against ordinary civilians. What gain do they have from committing such a barbaric crime?"

"They won't. They may believe that they are doing this for a greater cause, but... many, many nations will make sure that the third of June, shall be the beginning of the end of the cause that the terrorists have supported," Svensson declared.

"On behalf of our government, we would like to offer economic support to all of the nations affected by this inhuman terrorist attack. We hope that our economic aid will help ensure that you may rebuild and recover," she said.

She then added that "We would also like to provide moral support. On this horrifying day, you are not alone. Every Luziycan, from Askatasuna to Jerusalem, from Kenyen to Gijirokastra, shall send their prayers towards you in this trying time."

More as the story develops.

With the election campaign starting, Aininian Union tops poll in surprising lead
Image
A possible makeup of the Legislature according to a recent poll.

It seems surprising that the Aininian Union Party (PUA), an organization that is for all extant and purposes the successor to the far-right white supremacist Radical National People’s Party, has topped a recent poll done by Ninhir Ashuragar. Leading with roughly twenty-six percent, the PUA may gain the most seats in the new Legislature. However, political analyst Ishtar Ur, who helped with the poll, stated that “the Aininian Union’s lead may be due to polling irregularities. For example, we had more answers from New Bounesque, a heavily Aininian district, and one that has since the 1970s politically leaned towards the right, then from other districts. If the turnout is high, the PUA may suffer immensely. If turnout is like in the 2016 territorial election [which brought the far-right into power for the first time], that is, below forty-five percent, the PUA may even reach above thirty-percent of the popular vote.”

The Aininian far-right’s lead isn’t the only surprising result of the poll. Both the Liberal Party of Pisdara and the Popular Action Party, who currently make up part of the provisional government, fail to even reach above four-percent, the mathematical threshold to possibly gain a seat in the Legislature. Instead, their platforms and programs have been taken over by other parties considered more anti-establishment. The Progressive Party, with its libertarian and conservative values, seem to be the party economic liberals are flocking to, while Popular Action’s populist and Esquarispectic agenda has been hijacked by the PUA and the Islamist People’s Movement. Other, more smaller parties, are making waves as well, such as the Pirate Party and the New Pisdari Libertarian Front.

The results of the poll:
Aininian Union Party - 25.61%
Social Democracy of Pisdara - 17.33%
Islamic People’s Movement - 13.95%
Pisdari Progressive Party - 9.42%
New Pisdari Liberation Front - 8.84%
Pirate Party of Pisdara - 6.20%
Other parties - 18.65%

LYONSLAND UNDER ATTACK: Hundreds feared dead after two bombings in the city centre and a hijacked plane plunges into a suburban commercial centre, the nation mourns in shock, Carl vows to "rout out" terrorists
Attacks in Aspatria, Leighton and Strandhavn have also likely killed hundreds more as a continent asks "Who?"

Image
Clockwise, from top left: The partially-destroyed Den Gardds headquarters in Rirracånslann, a major administrative area of Ettsten city; Students of Attij Community School in north-east Dencom grieve over the deaths of their classmates on-board Flight 42; A mass memorial in National Park, Ettsten; a fire breaks out after a bomb explodes in the Bhillem VII metro station in Ettsten; A firefighter stands atop the rubble of Craggbhen Shopping Mall which collapsed alongside several other buildings after it was hit by a plane crash.

The nation is still trying to come to terms with what has been the most devastating series of terror attacks on our nation. What was a frankly beautiful, warm and sunny Friday morning was rapidly turned into a scene of chaos, destruction and tragedy. Two bombs, one at the focal point of the Ettsten Metro system, the Bhillem VII Station, the other at the headquarters of the police force, were followed by a devastating plane crash as an A320 plane belonging to Scotian low-cost airliner TweedAir with 146 passengers on-board plunged into the commercial centre of Craggbhen, an Ettsten suburb. Officials fear that as many as 800 maybe dead from the three attacks, and that's only the start of it. Attacks in the Vjaarlandic capital of Standhavn as well as the Arkiasian cities of Leighton and Aspatria have killed a combined estimate of 500. It is one of the deadliest days in Lyonese history.

It began at ten past nine in the morning as an Ettsten Metro subway train was about to dock at Bhillem VII Station, on time for its 09:10 arrival into the heart of the inner city. However, moments before it was due to exit the tunnel, an IED (Improvised explosive device) exploded on-board the subway, decimating the train and causing a massive fireball to erupt into the station, causing several fires to erupt. This was followed no more than 80 seconds later by an explosion at the front lobby of Den Gardds headquarters, the seat of administration of the federal police force. The blast immediately destroyed almost half of the front building.

As the initial shock and panic begin to make way, reports of explosions in Strandhavn, Leighton and Aspatria began to make rounds through the airwaves. Two bombs exploded at the buildings of the Vjaarlandic Ministry of Defence and Strandhavn Stock Exchange, killing as many as 300 and causing both buildings to partially collapse. Then, word of explosions at Aspatria's Lima Airport and the Central Station in Arkiasis, followed by another explosion, this time in the Ministry of Finance building in the Arkiasian capital.

Many feared that this was just the beginning of a disastrous day, and they were right. At around the same time of the attacks across the continent, TweedAir Flight 42, an A320 plane, is hijacked shortly after taking off from Dencom International Airport for its daily routine flight to Aberlefen William Wallace International Airport in Scotia. At 10:13 Lyonese time, it crashes into the commercial centre of Craggbhen, a large suburb of Ettsten. The crash kills the 146 passengers and 9 crew members instantly, although it is believed that some had already been murdered in the midst of the hijacking. Many on the ground are instantly killed also, as the plane crashed directly into one of the country's largest shopping malls. Over an hour later, the entire complex collapses at once, the horrifying incident is captured by several news choppers who directly feed the footage to live television. Other nearby buildings also collapse, including several apartment blocks and retail stores on the main street of Craggbhen, the buildings succumbing to the initial impact of the plane and the flying debris of the shopping mall. Much of downtown Craggbhen is left looking absolutely destroyed, almost like a warzone.

There is, at this point, an untold number of casualties. Between the two explosions in the city and the plane crash and subsequent building collapses, as many as 700 could be dead and that only counts the victims of the Lyonese attacks. At least 152 are dead in Vjaarland, and more than 200 is the estimate in Arkiasis. Many, both dead and alive, are believed to be trapped in the rubble in both Den Gardds headquarters and Craggbhen. Thousands more are injured.

The response by the people, the government and the wider nation is one of shock, sorrow and tragedy. Television and radio stations all but ceased to carry on normal programming as the sheer scale of the attacks was brought to light. The main networks, RTL included, have been broadcasting non-stop news since the attacks and virtually nothing else. Cable and satellite channels suspending broadcasts to instead relay news bulletins. Schools, workplaces and daily life was halted as the nation watched on in horror. A state of emergency was rapidly declared and following the plane crash, the Lyonese Aviation Network ordered a shutdown of Lyonese airspace. All borders were shut. A defiant Prime Minister Johanna Carl spoke at a youth summit in Lasdan shortly after the initial attacks, and then in the afternoon via Twitter. Shortly after 19:00, she made a televised speech to the nation. King Riccard spoke at 21:30 in another televised address, tearing up as he offered his condolences to those personally affected by the tragedy.

Today was, for many teenagers in Dencom their last day of the school year before an eleven-week break, but the joy was quickly shattered in Attij Community School in north-east Dencom. There, students were confronted with the unimaginable news of the deaths of 35 Year 9 students and three teachers on-board the ill-fated Flight 42. The school instantly suspended classes upon hearing the news and the canteen quickly became a scene of mourning and grief. As the nation continued to try to understand the events, crowds gathered across the country to mourn. The biggest site of flowers and candles is now in the National Park at the very centre of Ettsten's CBD, very close to Bhillem VII Station. Parliament held an emergency meeting late Friday evening and declared six days of national mourning, beginning Sunday and ending Friday.

The hunt is now on for those responsible, both here and in Vjaarland and Arkiasis. All motorways and major roads have been closed in order to try and stop the terrorists' escape, although police say it is 'very' possible some of the estimated five terrorists managed to get away from the city quickly. Authorities have denied to speculate on the possible perpetrators, but rumours are suggesting that it could be the Caliphate, Free Mburi People's Army or possibly a state-sponsored organisation. In her televised address, PM Carl said that those responsible would be "discovered and destroyed", promising to bring the terrorists to justice.

The international reaction has been mostly of shock and disgust. Luziycan president Sera Svensson condemned the attacks in a national address on Luziycan television and declared that "the third of June, shall be the beginning of the end of the cause that the terrorists have supported". President of Pavonistade Yksteldehs Oppenheim described the attacks as "horrifying and inhumane". Queen Elis of Katranjiev tweeted "You are all in our nation's thoughts and prayers during this trying time.". Freyhill's Foreign Ministry has confirmed two of its citizens, a passenger and a crewmember, were on-board Flight 42. On a more disturbing and worrying note, thousands gathered in Estovnia's Shrine of the Eternal Fire to celebrate the attacks.

State President Evren Volkan praises Pisdara's Islamic People's Movement

Image

State President Evren Volkan addressing the Islamic Union Front congress members today.

06/06/16 10.00am

State President Evren Volkan has praised the success of the Islamic People's Movement (known as RUI in Pisdara), the Islamic Collectivist party in Pisdara. Speaking before the Islamic Union Front in Congress today, he also praised the successes of the Ankoreni National Armed Forces as they continue to push the Caliphate back in southern Irvadistan. He declared "Nautasia is being transformed every day and our Union is leading the way, the future we all dream of, is becoming a reality".

State President Evren Volkan was delivering his monthly address to the Islamic Union Front in the Hassan Gülbaran Chamber of the Union Congress, all 580 members of Congress were present. The monthly address enables the State President to explained government plans, address questions from the Union's political party and to make comments on any matter he sees fit. State President Volkan's address last month focused on education reform, where he controversially denounced teachers who pushed for a more "imperialist natured curriculum", he denounced calls for history lessons to cover the Great Wars from certain perspectives of the combatant nations; State President Volkan denounced that as "repressing the truth of the wars being the result of the imperialist nations' innate flaws".

Arriving in the chamber, the State President received a standing ovation from every member of the Islamic Union Front, which continued uninterrupted for five minutes. When the applause died down, he requested that the chamber applause the armed forces and the nation's 386 martyrs, taken from the state fighting the Caliphate, that applause continued for ten minutes, with some members of the IUF shedding tears for the martyred.

He addressed the war against the Caliphate first, declaring the nation "fully supportive of the righteous operation to free Nautasia from the evil of takfirism and salafism. The so-called Caliphate can be defeated and it will be the armies of Islam under our flag that will defeat them, not the imperialist arrogant powers." State President Volkan assured the party that the Union government will ensure that the operation as full support in resources and expenditure.

"The Union Government will ensure that the operation is supported, to the end. Should our government surplus be wiped out funding this glorious operation, then so be it. For victory we need to embrace the culture of martyrdom in life and in assets. There is no cost in martyrdom too great, nor is there any financial cost too great, for victory is inevitable and unavoidable" he said to loud applause.

"We have seen exceptional success across southern Irvadistan, the Caliphate's efforts to retake lost territory have failed, the people who have been liberated greet us as liberators, those who assist the Caliphate and swear loyalty to it are punished for their, role in the Caliphate's crimes against the kind and noble Irvadi people. We are succeeding, our Union's soldiers and pilots are succeeding" he said to loud applause.

His speech then moved onto the Pisdari elections, the first of its kind following the Pisdari people's vote to eject their former Aininian colonial masters. State President Volkan praised the Pisdari people's democratic declaration of independence, calling it a "major blow against the country that see Nautasia downtrodden and held back from its true potential. Pisdari freedom, is an event to be beholden by all Nautasians, as a beacon of hope, that Nautasia will be free."

He congratulated the Islamic People's Movement for its apparent success, coming close third in the latest poll done by Pisdara's principle newspaper. The Islamic People's Movement was formed following independence, as a splinter group from the Front for an Islamic Pisdara, formally adopting Islamic Collectivism as its ideological platform. The IPM is led by Shadar Kabari, a veteran political at both local and national levels, he has visited Ankoren at least 20 times in his career, meeting with key Islamic Union Front officials to discuss Islamic Collectivism. The IPM is also lead to some degree by Kabari's personal friend, Eketanna Jabar, a former fisherman who was raised in an Islamic Collectivist family, who opposed Pisdara's subjugation under Ainin. The two men have been exceptionally well received in Imana district, where they're polling exceptionally high.

"Should the Islamic People's Movement in Pisdara, secure their desired four seats or even the seven seats that they could obtain, they will emerge as a major force in Pisdari politics. To know that our ideals, the beliefs of Nurcan Taylan and Hassan Gülbaran reaching the noble people of Pisdara warms my heart. To know that Islamic Collectivism could bring harmony, unity and strength to Pisdara warms my heart. But I want Pisdara to know, Ankoren will stand by you as you enter the world free of Ainin, we offer you our hand in friendship, in guidance and protection. Never again will Pisdara be abused, let Pisdara be the shining example of self-determination in Nautasia" he said, receiving a standing ovation from the IUF members.

Foreign Minister Hüseyin Dündar earlier today expressed his own excitement at Pisdara's elections, in his address to the Islamic Union Front, he declared "Nautasia is awakening, it is awakening to the reality of its situation. Its political situation and its socio-economic; that the ideals of liberalism, sunni extremism, socialism and communism have all failed the continent, now they also realise that only Ankoren is stable and that is owed to Islamic Collectivism. Nautasia is seeing its Islamic Collectivist Awakening."

The Foreign Ministry has expressed its desire for State President Volkan to meet whoever becomes the first President of a free Pisdara after the elections, the ministry's spokeswoman Dilek Өzkan said that "the Ankoreni nation wishes to assist Pisdara in developing as a free nation, as such we have begun looking into areas of investment and joint-cooperation, including the modernisation of Pisdari infrastructure and its fishing fleet."

State President Volkan also expressed the possibility of greater cooperation between Ankoren and the Armin Kamel regime in Irvadistan, despite major criticism and concerns over Kamel's government in wake of its failure to defeat the Caliphate.

"If it is in the interest of the Irvadi people, that we negotiate and cooperate with Armin Kamel then so be it, but this will be done when it is clearly in their interest and not his, we would also expect in exchange for our cooperation, efforts to improve his position with regards to the Irvadi people" he said.

Xiao government to fast-track anti-terrorist legislation in light of Nordania attacks
By Fu Bingbing

Image
Interior Minister Xú Bāngguó announces that
the measures will "ensure the safety of Xiao citizens"

In the wake of several terrorist attacks by the Nordanian National Socialist Front in the Nordanian nations of Vjaarland, Arkiasia and Lyonsland Interior Minister Xú Bāngguó has declared that Xiaodong will "step up its anti-terrorism measures to ensure the safety of Xiao citizens". As part of these measures, the Xiao government has called for all Xiao citizens currently staying in Nordania to return to Xiaodong as well as strongly discouraging Xiao citizens from travelling to Nordania in the event of further attacks. Mr Xú speaking on behalf of First Minister Yuán Xiānniàn has also declared that the government will also fast track new immigration, policing and surveillance laws as part of the government's Anti-Terrorism Programme which would impose much tougher rule for Nautasian immigrants as well as expand police powers, allow the government to unilaterally strip ones citizenship rendering them stateless, collect telecommunications data without warrants and impose curfews.

Mr Xú has defended these proposed laws as being necessary for the defence of Xiaodong against terrorism and that the laws have "long been in the process of implementation". Mr Xú went on to state that the attacks in Nordania have merely "given greater public attention to the matter of terrorism and has sided with the First Minister in insisting that the laws will "seek to protect the lives and rights of Xiao citizens."

The laws in question have been in various forms proposed over the past year, but have faced opposition due to their perceived anti-democratic nature. Xiao4Liberaty, a pressure group concentrated on protecting civil liberties, have attacked the proposals as "seriously threatening the civil liberties of Xiao citizens" and has gone on to denounce them as unconstitutional, a view shared by the opposition People's and Progressive parties. Lawyer Zhōu Yǐshēng stated that "there is no legal or moral justification for [the government] to react to terrorist attacks from halfway across the world by a white nationalist organisation with no interest whatsoever in Xiaodong by restricting the rights and freedoms of Xiao citizens" and has especially criticised proposals to extend the meaning of unlawful assembly, a crime potentially punishable by death in Xiaodong. The government rebuffs claims that the reaction to terrorist attacks in another continent was overblown, citing domestic terrorist groups such as the Xiao Communist Party as reasons to "seriously address the issues of terrorism".

"Fighting terrorism" Mr Xú said in a speech addressing the State Presidium "is a global effort. By passing these laws we will be denying terrorists whether they be sponsored by states or independent actors a potential safe haven, as well as root out any that currently reside here". The government's justification has been criticised by the opposition, who contend that Xiaodong's tough immigration and crime laws has been effective in quelling domestic terrorism within Xiaodong outside of the aforementioned communist party. People's Party president Hú Wénjuān has claimed that the proposals are "merely a way for the government to suppress dissent in the run-up to the upcoming election".

Despite opposition to the proposals, the government intend to fast track through the State Presidium - i.e, put the legalisation up to vote in the State Presidium without debate, review or amendments. Opposition leaders have unanimously stated that they will vote against the proposals, whilst some republican backbenchers have voiced reservations over the decision to fast track the proposals.

Foreign Minister Chén Qīnglián has also announced that the Xiao government would be willing to send humanitarian and economic aid to the nations affected by terrorism if requested, stating that the "Xiao people are disgusted by these brazen acts of terror by the Nordanian National Socialist Front and stand in solidarity with the people of Nordania".

BREAKING Nordania attacks: Nordanian National Socialist Front claims responsibility, Teutonian intelligence operatives arrested during police raid
Death toll reaches 244 for Strandhavn bombings, President vows “swift and decisive justice”

The Internal Security Police has arrested members of Teutonian intelligence following a counter-terrorism raid linked to the recent attacks across Nordania, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The raid comes hours after the Nordanian National Socialist Front (NNSF) claimed responsibility for the coordinated strikes that killed over 1,000 people, including 244 in the bombings of the Strandhavn Stock Exchange and Ministry of Internal Affairs buildings in Strandhavn.

The operation began at 02:59 VDT when an Internal Security Police counter-terrorism team assaulted a house in Kilvik, a satellite city of the Strandhavn metropolitan area. Neighbors reported hearing heavy gunfire for several minutes as confederal agents stormed the building. Police officials say that two of the individuals arrested during the raids have been identified as members of Sicherheitsdienst, the foreign intelligence service of Teutonia. Three other individuals, including two suspects previously identified by security camera footage at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Strandhavn Stock Exchange bombing sites, were also arrested.

Hours before the raid, a militant group known as the Nordanian National Socialist Front claimed responsibility for the attacks in Strandhavn and elsewhere throughout Nordania in a video released online. The footage, which features self-proclaimed NNSF leader Mikael Hermansen, condemns immigration into Nordania and globalization and claims that the purpose of the organization is to “defend [Nordania’s] very way of life.” Hermansen states that the attacks were “acts of retaliation against the establishment Jewry” and that the Front will “continue [its] struggle against them for as long as we live.”

President Adlerberg responded to news of the raid and the NNSF’s claim of responsibility during a public address three hours later, saying “there can no longer be any doubt that the Greater Teutonian Reich and its proxies do not seek peaceful coexistence with the free nations of Nordania. We refuse to accept anything short of swift and decisive justice against all responsible parties for these vile and invidious attacks." The President also invoked the Northern Sea Treaty and Nordanian Joint Security Agreement, calling for the assistance of the Northern Sea Defense Organization and Nordanian League's respective member states.

Aininian President Cao Nima's visit to Namo
NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - A Mojing Sibo poll showed that more Namorese are harboring isolationist attitudes in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Nordania.

This is the second survey released by the Mojing Sibo since President-General Shohai Antelope formally announced a nationwide referendum on EC membership. Respondents were asked about their stances on the Esquarian Community, the Esquarian Treaty Organization (ETO) and world affairs in general.

When asked "Do you support Namor becoming a full member of the Esquarian Community?," 46 percent responded "no," 30 percent responded "yes" and 24 percent said they are unsure. Prior to the Nordania attacks, 42 percent responded "no," 43 percent responded "yes" and 15 percent were unsure. From the previous poll to the latest one, support for EC membership has slid by 13 percentage points, while opposition to membership climbed four percentage points.

72 percent of respondents agreed that Namor should withdraw from ETO, compared to 67 percent in NMR 2377. 65 percent agreed that "ETO has no purpose as an alliance," compared to 60 percent in NMR 2377.

In light of recent attacks in Francilie and Nordania, the Mojing Sibo asked whether respondents agree with the statement that following the attacks, "Namor should expand its role in world affairs for the sake of its interests and security." Only 26 percent agreed, whereas 74 percent disagreed.

Analysts interpret the numbers as signs of a growing isolationist sentiment among the Namorese populace, one driven by uncertainty overseas.

"Everything stands in stark contrast to the era from the NMR 2320s to NMR 2350s. Those were the most internationalist of times, when Namor was opening up to the rest of the world and reaping the benefits," said Yi Heng, a retired diplomat who served as the Namorese ambassador to Luziyca under the Wolf administration. "But now, Namorese are looking at the rest of the world and they think it's a mess that they aren't destined to clean up. They don't want any part in it."

Yi added that the recent figures may pose a challenge to President-General Shohai Antelope's intentions to revitalize the ETO alliance and get Namor into the EC, especially as the country holds its second-ever nationwide referendum on EC membership in August.

"The President-General will definitely have to reckon with the significant portion of Namorese who believe he's getting the country into a quagmire when such is neither inevitable nor necessary."

But Shen Wuhong, former foreign minister to President-General Fu, said growing opposition to the EC and ETO is unlikely to scale back Namor's role in the Velkias. Rather, it will frustrate efforts at expanding such a role.

"Do not expect Namor to retreat into total isolation as some dynasties once did a long time ago. The days of isolation, for better or worse, are over," he told PTH. "The real question isn't whether we should retreat, but whether we should advance, when it comes to dealing with challenges abroad."

An official for the Antelope administration told PTH that while he does not deny the accuracy of the poll numbers, many of the poll's ramifications are "not new."

"Namor never was and isn't the world's policeman, and Namorese people has always had a modest view of their role in the world," he said, adding that it is "very natural" for the public to be skeptical and fearful in the aftermath of terror attacks.

SHACHIN, WEST NAMOR- The entirety of West Namor, Xhipei and Txotai as well as parts of Thalassa held a massive civil defense drill on the anniversary of the war of defensive counterattack against Luziyca (Third Namo-Luziycan War) in NMR 2336.

Each year, cities and towns across western Namor hold civil defense drills meant to prepare the civilian population for any imminent Luziycan attack. The drill mainly focuses on protecting residents from air raids and incoming missiles, especially those carrying chemical and biological agents.

Starting 10:00 am Namo Time, air raid sirens sounded throughout West Namor, signaling the beginning of the drill. The sidewalks and streets were evacuated as people made their way to the nearest bunker. Local police and military units were mobilized.

In the Frontier Security Zone (FSZ), all movement across the border had been halted hours prior to the drill.

Kansky Nominates Mioritious for OMK; Cites Efforts Leading to Treaty of Szimóngôcz
Image
Department of External Affairs, Wrycova
External Affairs Secretary Kansky, home in Wrycova after attending the signing of the Treaty of Szimóngôcz in Lecistan has requested the Board of Governors of the Order of Merit of the Kramden to award the honor to Mrs. Ilene Mioritious, the Director of External Affairs Legal and Treaty Division.

In his letter, Secretary Kansky cited "her many days laboring at the negotiations in Krasimir, away from friends and family, tirelessly working on this agreement that gives new hope for peace to the people of Lecistan, and indeed, greater security to all of Conitia. As Head of Delegation for the Kramden at the talks, she stuck to her bargaining points, supporting the Lecistani Republicans most crucial issues at the most critical times. At the same time, she continued her administrative role as Director of the department's Legal and Treaties Division, keeping up a workload that would have exhauseted a lesser, less dedicated public servant. Mrs. Mitoritious richly deserves the Order of Merit, and the thanks of millions of Cedarbrookese."

In addition to ending the conflict, the treaty sets the framework for the dissolution of the Second Republic, major reforms to the government of the Grand Duchy of Lecistan, internationally-monitored emergency elections, and the abdication of Grand Duke Juchany I in favor of his granddaughter, Katariina Kaarenmaa-Hennala, Grand Duchess of Kaarenmaa and Princess of Palomar.

Emergency elections, open to all Lecistanis over the age of 21, will be held July 5, 2016. July 5 will also see Juchany I abdicate in favor of Katarzyna I. Monday saw the first contingent of Cedarbrookese troops, part the 7th Division, return at Wrycova's Iamus Carlus International Airport.

Investigations Continue Into Nordania Bombings
Police in Arkiasis, Lyonsland, Vjaarland continue their investigations into the recent terror bombings of several institutions in those countries. Results have not been entirely released. President Issac Feld messaged the leaders of the three stricken nations on Saturday that "The people of the Kramden stand with you in this time of grief and anguish, as do civilized nations across Esquarium.
Our hopes go out for healing for your peoples, and for rapid apprehension of those responsible for this terror." Unspecified security arrangements have been reported involving travellers from the region at Cedarbrookese airports, seaports, and land border crossings, but there have been no delays in processing of passengers or freight to or from West Cedarbrook. The Estovnian government has not made an official statement regarding the bombings. In today's developments, The Vjaar Internal Security Police has arrested members of Teutonian intelligence following a counter-terrorism raid linked to the recent attacks across Nordania, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Vjaar operation began at 02:59 VDT when an Internal Security Police counter-terrorism team assaulted a house in Kilvik, a satellite city of the Strandhavn metropolitan area.

Politics in the Kramden
Polls Show Conservatives Trailing Libertarians in Senate Contests
The West Cedarbrook 1/Wrycova Morning Star Poll taken the week of May 30th shows a shift toward the liberal Civic Alliance candidates. The poll, inclusive of all 693 Senate districts shows a stiff dropoff in Conservative support, with a relatively small fallback for the opposition Libertarians. Analysts cite robust recuritment of candidates by CA chair Gerard Zeller, including his candidacy in a Steinhouse district, and that of Wrycova Symphony Orchestra conductor Norman Yontiff in the capital's Rosewood neighborhood.
Others are noting a leftward drift, indicated by the rise in expected seats for the socialist Independent List. If the trend continues, this will be the strongest showing by left parties since the collapse of the Liberal Party and it's merger with the Libertarians. Libertarian hopes were buyoed with the formal end of hostilities in Lecistan, giving an opportunity for regionalist former President Louis B. Steinberg to bury the hatchet with Wrycova Mayour Harry Kaplan, leader of the isolationist faction in the party.

According to the poll, the Conservatives lead in 254 districts, down from their current 369 seat majority. Regionally, they are behind across the board, and some say President Feld is not devoting enough time to the September 17th election. The Libertarians are leading in 300 districts, a bit less than their 307 seats in the current Senate. Incumbents are generally holding up, except in Steinhouse, home of Mayor Maurice Oppenheim's Conservative organization, and in Central State, which appears to be more fertal ground for the Civic Alliance.

The CA is showing strength across the board, mostly in urban districts. It is now leading in 93 contests, compared to the 15 seats it now holds. The Independent List is ahead in seven districts, including in Wrycova, Port Yehoshua, and Northwest State. It currently has two senators.

39 districts are too close to name a leading candidate at this time. This covers a broad middle belt across the Kramden, through Coastal State, Steinhouse Municipality, and into Central State. It is here where many believe the makeup of the Senate will be determined, and it is viewed as a test of the viability of Zeller's Civic Alliance.

Latest Northwest, Coastal Gubernatorial Poll Results

ImageNorthwest Governor Kelly Pietruszka

Polling in Northwest State shows imcumbent Conservative Kelli Pietruszka leading her challenger, Libertarian Assemblyman Renate Davidson by 24 to 22 percent. The Governor is favored strongly in areas bordering Wrycova, an among upper middle income voters. Davidson polls strongly in suburban Edwardsville and Lawrenceville. They are followed by the Civic Alliance candidate Kaitline Flechner, a Assemblyman and former Libertarian at 17%, with Deniel Wender, curretnly unemployed, representing the Independent List at a surprising 15%, mostly in Edwardsville. 22%
of Northwestern voters polled are undecided at this time.

Coastal State Governor Victor Kurszewsky
In Coastal State, the Civic Alliance candidate for Governor, Zino Speigel, a Civil Attorney from Ironton has pulled ahead of incumbent Libertarian Victor Kurszewsky, leading by 29% to 22%. Conservative Pawel Bochensky, a Port Charles businessman lags at 15%, and Michael Rheingold, a Criminal Attorney also from Ironton trails at 4% for the Independent List. 30% of Coastal State voters are undecided as of the latest poll.

29 patriots martyred as helicopter is shot down

Image

The area where the CH-47 Chinook was shot down is seeing heavy fighting.

09/06/16 15.30pm

At least 29 military personnel of the Union have been martyred after their transport helicopter was shot down by terrorists in southern Irvadistan. The State Ministry of National Defence first reported that a transport helicopter had been lost some 10km east of the Caliphate held town of Kifri at 10.32am, it was transporting logistics personnel to the main frontline at the time. The Ministry of National Defence has now confirmed that the helicopter was shot down and no survivors were found. The incident marks the single greatest loss of life for the ANA since Operation Undeniable Victory began on 10 May.

The Ministry of National Defence's spokesman col. Cem Aşık gave the confirmation an hour ago, in which he explained "the CH-47 Chinook carrying 26 soldiers, from the 23rd Logistics Company and three crew men was shot down 10km east of terrorist held Kifri, we believe it was downed by a shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missile and crashed 11km east of Kifri. Subsequent patrols of the area by ANA reconnaissance units failed to find any survivors, as such we can confirm that all 29 patriots onboard the helicopter were martyred and will be forgotten."

Prime Minister Qassem Akbari addressed the Union Congress this afternoon in wake of the news, he said "with this horrific event now for all to know, we must not lose conviction or let our resolve to be weakened. In fact, we must ensure that every martyred patriot strengthens our resolve to destroy terrorism and rebuild Nautasia, they will never be forgotten of course, but they cannot become a source of weakening resolve, let the odds make each heart bolder and let each martyr strengthen our national resolve to win" he said.

Chief of Staff of the General Staff Headquarters, General Burak Güven announced via a statement by the operation's spokesman, that in wake of the helicopter's downing, a further 35,000 ANA soldiers and 18,000 Grey Wolves fighters will be deployed to the operation to "further enforce our desire for terrorism's end and to ensure that these events do not go unpunished."

The Ankoreni National Army has released the names of those martyred aboard the helicopter and announced a memorial will be built in their honour at the base of the 23rd Logistics Company, whilst the People's Association for Jihad and Unification, the umbrella organisation that leads the hundreds of pro-war movements in Ankoreni society - has announced that it will hold memorial rallies across the Union to "ensure that people remember all martyrs and share the feeling of fury and revenge against the terrorist".

Secretary of the PAJU, Mohammad Jassim Al-Jabouri, speaking on Ulusal Kanal News this afternoon explained that the movement was finding public support for the war against the caliphate growing with each day.

"We go to many doors to enquire people's opinions and feelings about the war against the takfiris and many explain that they support it beyond words, no mother would argue about their sons fighting, nor would wives stop husbands from carrying out the most sacred duty - fighting for the Union and the state, people are fully understanding of the ultimate sacrifice that can be made for the state" he said.

"We receive on a daily basis, thousands of letters and diary entries of people explaining how they feel about the war, because we in the People's Association for Jihad and Unification think its vital for the population to express their thoughts on the war, letting people keep emotions bottled up will only undermine the war effort at home" he said further.

At least three journalists have been arrested since the start of June, following articles being published, offering critical accounts of the war effort, the Interior Ministry has vowed to "crackdown on pacifists that would surrender the continent to takfirism", the State Commission for Press, Publication, Radio, Television and Film Standards has announced that it will be increasing its coverage of newspapers and magazines to protect "national unity in face of this great war effort against terrorism".

Reconciliation Begins

The Popular Committee for Combating Extremism has begun efforts to root out supporters of terrorism from areas liberated from the takfiris. The PCCE has reportedly arrested and tried over 2,000 Irvadi Sunnis reported for supporting the so-called Caliphate during its murderous occupation of Irvadistan, most of whom were mothers, wives and children of their fighters - many of whom are responsible for mass killings, rapes and grotesque executions of innocent people.

Head of the PCCE's Irvadistan Reconciliation Revolution (IRR), Farhan Al-Jabbari said that "we have found much of the liberated Irvadi population to be highly supportive and crucially; cooperative in rooting out the support base of the so-called Caliphate, without them, we could find ourselves defeating the terrorist gangs on the battlefield but lose the war in homes and minds." On May 13, three days after the operation began, the State Ministry of Justice had announced that the Union's anti-terrorism laws would be extended to areas under ANA administration and that Irvadis would be subject equally, to Union laws.

The PCCE's IRR operation also involves the managed reconciliation of Shia and Sunni Irvadis, at one reconciliation event in Taf'Qareem, Sunni and Shia citizens sat opposite one another in the main public square and asked to express their feelings, the IRR also hopes to unite the divided peoples through the message of Islamic Collectivism, which proclaims all Nautasians equal before Allah and that through collective effort peace and harmony will succeed in becoming the norm. The IRR operation is fundamental to the Union's success in building a new Nautasia according to the Ministry of National Defence.

State President Evren Volkan will meet with the families of all 29 personnel martyred in the helicopter downing, at the Taylan Saray tomorrow, where a public memorial will be held following their funerals this evening.
