Darağan - At least ten Sunni citizens have been sentenced to death by firing squad after a State Tribunal declared that they had committed acts "inciting sectarianism in the name of the Takfiri movements", all ten were also sentenced on charges of being members of the so-called "Caliphate". The State Minister of Justice, Ocan Gündoğdu declared the case the "most clearest indication of the efforts being made by the takfiris to bring violence and death upon us Shia in our homeland".
Since the so-called "Caliphate", known as the Takfiri Movement in Ankoren, rose up in 2011 and formed officially in 2015, the Union has faced numerous attempts at infiltrations and attacks from Takfiri held Irvadistan. In April last year, 11 Takfiri fighters were killed after they attempted to cross the border to escape airstrikes, then in December 2014 the Ankoreni National Army was forced to bombard areas of the border with artillery following a failed Takfiri attack on a border crossing.
The Union has been blessed by being left untouched by the horrors these Takfiris have unleashed upon the innocent and weak. Although the Union has not become directly involved in fighting the movement, it has offered both Kraq and Irvadistan financial and materiel assistance in fighting the movement. Since the Movement lacks the means or will to make an enemy of the Union of Ankoren it has chosen instead to recruit Sunni citizens that are found mostly in the regions bordering Irvadistan.
Last September, 78 Sunni citizens were arrested for declaring loyalty to the Movement and its leader Ebrahim Ridha Ahmad, all 78 were sentenced to death for inciting sectarianism, treason and terrorism. In October last year, State President Evren Volkan declared that any Sunni mosque that is found to be recruiting for the Takfiri Movement will be shut down and its Imam arrested, he also signed the executive order forming the Popular Committee for Combating Takfirism (MTPK), which has grown to over 80,000 members and concentrates its efforts on identifying recruiters for the Movement and ensuring the continued loyalty of the Union's Sunni Muslims.
The ten sentenced today were arrested four weeks ago following a raid on a house in Çukurören, a predominately Sunni town some 10km south of the Irvadi border. The State Gendarmerie was informed that a large group of young men were meeting regularly in the flat of Said Halim, further intelligence gathered by the Devgübak showed that these men were recruiting Sunnis on behalf of the Movement online. Said Halim's flat was found to be full of Takfiri symbolism, posters and flags all of which were burnt by the State Gendarmerie following the raid.
Including Said Halim, Rafiq Al-Abdul, Abdullah Maliqi, Ahmet Kaya, Hüseyin Erkän, Mehmud Yasin, Seyyal Taner (only female among the group), Erdal Akdarı, Mustafa Bulbay and Ɵkan Buruk. The Devgübak investigation found that all ten were avid users of an illegal online chat room that is blocked by the State, on this forum they were advertising the Movement's actions as righteous and a means for Sunni Muslims to finally contribute to Islam in a meaningful way. They also appeared highly talented at dismissing the Ankoreni Union and the harmonious idea of Islamic Collectivism, turning weak minded citizens to turning against the ideals of the Eternal Father of the Union, Nurcan Taylan. The Devgübak have now begun a separate investigation in the aim of tracking down all users of the forum for interrogation and possible charges should they have had declared loyalty to the Takfiri Movement.
Due to the charges against them, all ten were subject to a State Tribunal - According to the Union's constitution, the state is infallible, untouchable to revolutionary hands and above all citizens, this is reflected in the nature of the State Tribunals where it is intended only to demonstrate how the offender’s guilt was determined.
Thus the purpose of the trial is not to establish facts – these are already known, and cannot be disputed – but to provide an educational experience for the populace, so trials are broadcast throughout the Union. A good trial demonstrates that the state is not only always right, but is strong enough to capture and punish all offenders.
The State Tribunal was headed by Prosecutor Ali Sistani and held in the eastern city of Daraĝan, he decried the group as a "fifth column dedicated to the destruction of good society and Ankoreni unity. You are all guilty of serving the Movement that is neither human nor Islamic. You abandoned your nation, your people and the Eternal Father of the Union, let alone God and his Prophet, peace be upon him, you also abandoned your true selves.
"What makes matters worse is that you attempted to spread this evil to others. You took advantage of weak minds and weak souls and gave them nothing but lies and poison to serve your so called Caliph, who I pray will meet a fiery end for his sins and crimes against Islam. Know that the State has recognised your guilt and as such, I Prosecutor Ali Sistani sentence you to death by firing squad effective immediately. May God offer compassion to you all."
All ten were then transported to the Darağan Provincial Detention Center and executed at 14.14pm today - their families were permitted to attend.
The head of the Popular Committee for Combating Takfiris, General Ismet Öcalan has vowed that the organisation will strive for greater success in rooting out domestic cells loyal to the so-called Caliphate. Speaking at an anti-Takfiri rally in Zahedan, Gen. Ɵcalan said that "the enemy which aims to kill all Shia intends to come here into our Union, as they burn and pillage Irvadistan, Kraq and both Nautaryas they plan and plot to commit atrocities against us. Our Eternal Father of the Union, Marshal Nurcan Taylan stated clearly, that any threat to the Union and its one people, must be obliterated without mercy, know that we shall show these Takfiris no mercy, we will show them no compassion, no pity. We shall do so in the defence of Imam Ali's name and shall do so for it is the will of God" receiving roaring applause.
State Minister of Interior Affairs, Kemal Devatoğlu has already announced a further ₺500 million for the MTPK, which will allow them to recruit more officers and establish a permanent presence in Daraĝan province. The MTPK also receive authorisation from the State Council for Unity and Progress to begin interviewing Irvadi refugees currently based in a camp some miles north of Daraĝan, in an effort to rooting out any possible Takfiri terrorist who is hidden among the weak and dispossessed. State Minister Devatoğlu has already stated that any refugee found to be assisting the Takfiri Movement will be deported back to Irvadistan without due process.
