Ten Sunni Citizens executed for inciting sectarianism and promoting terrorism

Image

Officers of the State Gendarme on patrol along the Irvadi border, extra forces have been deployed over concerns of attacks by Takfiris in the name of the so-called "Caliphate"

25/04/16 17.35pm

Darağan - At least ten Sunni citizens have been sentenced to death by firing squad after a State Tribunal declared that they had committed acts "inciting sectarianism in the name of the Takfiri movements", all ten were also sentenced on charges of being members of the so-called "Caliphate". The State Minister of Justice, Ocan Gündoğdu declared the case the "most clearest indication of the efforts being made by the takfiris to bring violence and death upon us Shia in our homeland".

Since the so-called "Caliphate", known as the Takfiri Movement in Ankoren, rose up in 2011 and formed officially in 2015, the Union has faced numerous attempts at infiltrations and attacks from Takfiri held Irvadistan. In April last year, 11 Takfiri fighters were killed after they attempted to cross the border to escape airstrikes, then in December 2014 the Ankoreni National Army was forced to bombard areas of the border with artillery following a failed Takfiri attack on a border crossing.

The Union has been blessed by being left untouched by the horrors these Takfiris have unleashed upon the innocent and weak. Although the Union has not become directly involved in fighting the movement, it has offered both Kraq and Irvadistan financial and materiel assistance in fighting the movement. Since the Movement lacks the means or will to make an enemy of the Union of Ankoren it has chosen instead to recruit Sunni citizens that are found mostly in the regions bordering Irvadistan.

Last September, 78 Sunni citizens were arrested for declaring loyalty to the Movement and its leader Ebrahim Ridha Ahmad, all 78 were sentenced to death for inciting sectarianism, treason and terrorism. In October last year, State President Evren Volkan declared that any Sunni mosque that is found to be recruiting for the Takfiri Movement will be shut down and its Imam arrested, he also signed the executive order forming the Popular Committee for Combating Takfirism (MTPK), which has grown to over 80,000 members and concentrates its efforts on identifying recruiters for the Movement and ensuring the continued loyalty of the Union's Sunni Muslims.

The ten sentenced today were arrested four weeks ago following a raid on a house in Çukurören, a predominately Sunni town some 10km south of the Irvadi border. The State Gendarmerie was informed that a large group of young men were meeting regularly in the flat of Said Halim, further intelligence gathered by the Devgübak showed that these men were recruiting Sunnis on behalf of the Movement online. Said Halim's flat was found to be full of Takfiri symbolism, posters and flags all of which were burnt by the State Gendarmerie following the raid.

Including Said Halim, Rafiq Al-Abdul, Abdullah Maliqi, Ahmet Kaya, Hüseyin Erkän, Mehmud Yasin, Seyyal Taner (only female among the group), Erdal Akdarı, Mustafa Bulbay and Ɵkan Buruk. The Devgübak investigation found that all ten were avid users of an illegal online chat room that is blocked by the State, on this forum they were advertising the Movement's actions as righteous and a means for Sunni Muslims to finally contribute to Islam in a meaningful way. They also appeared highly talented at dismissing the Ankoreni Union and the harmonious idea of Islamic Collectivism, turning weak minded citizens to turning against the ideals of the Eternal Father of the Union, Nurcan Taylan. The Devgübak have now begun a separate investigation in the aim of tracking down all users of the forum for interrogation and possible charges should they have had declared loyalty to the Takfiri Movement.

Due to the charges against them, all ten were subject to a State Tribunal - According to the Union's constitution, the state is infallible, untouchable to revolutionary hands and above all citizens, this is reflected in the nature of the State Tribunals where it is intended only to demonstrate how the offender’s guilt was determined.

Thus the purpose of the trial is not to establish facts – these are already known, and cannot be disputed – but to provide an educational experience for the populace, so trials are broadcast throughout the Union. A good trial demonstrates that the state is not only always right, but is strong enough to capture and punish all offenders.

The State Tribunal was headed by Prosecutor Ali Sistani and held in the eastern city of Daraĝan, he decried the group as a "fifth column dedicated to the destruction of good society and Ankoreni unity. You are all guilty of serving the Movement that is neither human nor Islamic. You abandoned your nation, your people and the Eternal Father of the Union, let alone God and his Prophet, peace be upon him, you also abandoned your true selves.

"What makes matters worse is that you attempted to spread this evil to others. You took advantage of weak minds and weak souls and gave them nothing but lies and poison to serve your so called Caliph, who I pray will meet a fiery end for his sins and crimes against Islam. Know that the State has recognised your guilt and as such, I Prosecutor Ali Sistani sentence you to death by firing squad effective immediately. May God offer compassion to you all."

All ten were then transported to the Darağan Provincial Detention Center and executed at 14.14pm today - their families were permitted to attend.

The head of the Popular Committee for Combating Takfiris, General Ismet Öcalan has vowed that the organisation will strive for greater success in rooting out domestic cells loyal to the so-called Caliphate. Speaking at an anti-Takfiri rally in Zahedan, Gen. Ɵcalan said that "the enemy which aims to kill all Shia intends to come here into our Union, as they burn and pillage Irvadistan, Kraq and both Nautaryas they plan and plot to commit atrocities against us. Our Eternal Father of the Union, Marshal Nurcan Taylan stated clearly, that any threat to the Union and its one people, must be obliterated without mercy, know that we shall show these Takfiris no mercy, we will show them no compassion, no pity. We shall do so in the defence of Imam Ali's name and shall do so for it is the will of God" receiving roaring applause.

State Minister of Interior Affairs, Kemal Devatoğlu has already announced a further ₺500 million for the MTPK, which will allow them to recruit more officers and establish a permanent presence in Daraĝan province. The MTPK also receive authorisation from the State Council for Unity and Progress to begin interviewing Irvadi refugees currently based in a camp some miles north of Daraĝan, in an effort to rooting out any possible Takfiri terrorist who is hidden among the weak and dispossessed. State Minister Devatoğlu has already stated that any refugee found to be assisting the Takfiri Movement will be deported back to Irvadistan without due process.

"No Constitution Before Referendum": De Lotbinière
IN FACE OF LIKELY REJECTION, PISDARI CONSTITUTION DRAFT WITHDRAWN AND SENT BACK TO PISDARI LEGISLATURE
In a major defeat for supporters of the Pisdari sovereignty-association agreement, the House of Deputies has a passed a motion to return the bill to Pisdara's Territorial Council, effectively killing it.

The proposal calls for changes to the relationship between Pisdara and Ainin and would axe all but the advisory roles that the Aininian government plays in Pisdari governance. However, it controversially includes a section that grants free trade rights to Ainin, a provision that activists day encourage exploitation and the development of sweatshops.

This recent turn of events comes one day after the National Federation of Civil Servants, Ainin's largest public-sector union, urged the Social Democrats, leading party of the governing coalition, to withdraw their support from the bill. In the day that followed, member after member of the SDP caucus crossed the party whip to declare their public opposition to the free trade provisions. By morning, it was clear that the government had lost its majority on this bill. It was quietly withdrawn around 9:30 by Prime Minister de Lotbinière and returned to Pisdara's Territorial Council.

"Public opinion has spoken, and we cannot pass this Constitution proposal as it does not enjoy the clear support of the Pisdari people," she told STA International in a statement. "We will not take up consideration of this bill again until it has obtained a popular mandate through a referendum."

Citizen-Protector Alain Bergeron has expressed "disappointment" in the turn of events, but urged the Territorial Council to promptly authorise a referendum.

QIANRONGESE TEAMS DOMINATE GROUP F
THUNDERBIRDS CRUSH EAST NAUTARYA AS FIREBIRDS DEFEAT AININ

Image
The Thunderbirds before their match against East Nautarya

APRIL 25 2016 MINAKBIR, LIVANCIA- The teams sent to participate in the Sixth Coupe d'Esquarium by the Qianrongese Soviet Republic and the traitorous oppressor regime have both triumphed in their first matches of the Coupe, with the Thunderbirds defeating East Nautarya and the Firebirds defeating Ainin, in both situations two to zero.

The Firebirds- the team sent by the traitorous opppressor regime- faced off against the Aininian Coyotes shortly after the traditional Islamic noonday prayer. The match got off to a strong start for the Aininians, with both Emmanuel Brosseau and Xavier Laurent making shots at the goal within the first fifteen minutes; both shots, however, were blocked by goalkeeper Ma Yi-Ping. Qianrong retaliated in the 28th minute, however, when left forward Nhanh Dinh Diem got the ball into the goal past Yves Fontaine. The score remained 1-0 until the second half, when right forward Jasnoran Omejecov successfully got the ball into the goal in the 61st minute. A late-game push by the Aininians, spearheaded by Moustafa Javed- who made three shots on target, all blocked- ultimately failed to get Ainin on the board.

The match between the Thunderbirds and the East Nautaryans followed shortly thereafter, and saw the Thunderbirds convincingly dominate the match. Center forward Deng Chao-Zi took the ball from the Nautaryans shortly after kickoff and managed to score a goal in the 2nd minute. Though the East Nautaryans were prevented from getting to the goal by the Thunderbird defense, the East Nautaryans managed to prevent the Thunderbirds from scoring again until Nguyen Sinh Tan slipped the ball past the Nautaryan goalkeeper in the 55th minute.

As a result of the matches, the Thunderbirds and Firebirds currently sit on top of the rankings in Group F. Many citizens have used the rallying cry "two Qianrongs, two victories" and expressed hopes that both Qianrongese teams will make it to the knockout rounds. Venerable Chairman Long Jiao-Dan also greatly praised the work of the Thunderbirds in defeating the East Nautaryans, saying that the Thunderbirds were "shining proof of Qianrongese athleticism and fitness." He wished them the best of luck in their future matches, and said he was "confident" that they would continue to be a proud reflection of the Qianrongese nation.

The Thunderbirds play the Aininian Coyotes later today; the Firebirds will face off against the East Nautaryans.

MATCHDAY 2: THE JIHADIS WIN FIRST MATCH

Image
The match against West Cedarbrook

MINAKBIR, KHUSUBA GOVERNORATE - A victory was achieved today against the tiny island nation of Pucamha in the Hakera Archipelago, as the Livancian Jihadis score a 3-1 victory over the Pucamha Islanders.

Highlights of the first half
At the seven minute mark, the Pucamhans took a lead as they score a goal. However, this only awakened the Jihadi: Quraish iben Osman wound up seizing an attempt by a Pucamha forward at the eleven minute mark and managed to turn it against them: at the 12 minute mark, the score was tied at one to one.

There was relatively little action for the remainder of the half, save for Amjad iben Muammar's attempt at a goal, which was repelled at the thirty-nine minute mark. The half ended at 1-1.

Highlights of the second half
At the fifty-two minute mark, Amjad iben Muammar broke the tie, scoring a goal for the Jihadis, and bringing the score to 2-1 in our favor. After much celebration on the pitch and in the stands, there was fury as the Pucamhans attempted to score a goal to try and tie the game: Louis Mahdavi managed at the sixty-two minute mark to repel an effort at the goal: it was so close to the goal line!

But after the seventieth minute, there was a decline in action on the pitch, until the eighty-third minute when a Pucamha forward attempts yet another goal to try and even things: José Cartier manages to seize posession of the ball and passes it to Louis Mahdavi, who then passes it to Quraish iben Osman at the eighty-fifth minute. Quraish passed it at the eighty-seventh minute to Amjad iben Muammar: the ball was close to being intercepted, but Amjad was swift in taking control of the ball. By the eighty-eighth minute, Amjad scores a goal, raising the score to 3-1!

The match ended with a 3-1 victory for the Livancian Jihadis.

An incident in Belt tal-Lvant
After an incident where Senterland forward Aksel Humbert and substitute defender Jon Larsen were sent home following an escapade at a hotel, as well as the team being kicked out of the hotel, police chief Ra'adi iben Saddam said to reporters that "what they have done is unforgivable: it caused a massive disturbance in the Karimi Hotel," and stated that the offenders will be deported for violating moral standards and would be issued a lifetime ban from ever returning to Livancia.

In addition, Ra'adi iben Saddam stated that "the Senterland Football Association must pay Đ19,000,000,000 ($2,000,000) in damages to the Karimi Hotel as a result of this incident."

Can the Stallions make it to the knockout rounds?
A victory over Sandhelm would see Atlia advance to the knockouts in its first Coupe

Image
Several Atlian soccer fans with the jerseys and scarves of their preferred Atlian club teams-
All were united to rally in support of the Stallions.

April 25, 2015 | Şehiray, Atlia - When the sixth edition of the prestigious Coupe d'Esquarium began in Livancia, predictions for Atlia's Stallions were bleak. As a debuting team, especially one from such a small country, many expected the Stallions simply would not be tough enough to face down traditional soccer powers. When Atlia was drawn into Group G, many predicted they would buckle under pressure from battle-hardened teams like Pavonistade's Fearless. A prediction from Aucuria's News of the Republic proclaimed that the Fearless and Sandhelm's Foxes would be the two teams to break from the group- though, it conceded, there was always the chance for the Coupe to surprise us all.

And this Coupe, that has indeed been the case. Battle-hardened Crolacia lays at the bottom of Group A, effectively eliminated without a single victory. Nevanmaa's first match, against the far less prestigious Lydish team, saw the Nevans lose 0-2. Lyonsland, who hosted the fifth edition, have failed to win a single match. Vyvland, the team with the most Coupe titles in history, lost 2-0 to the Pisdaris before being blown out of the water by Montecara 6-1. Both North Qianrong's Firebirds and South Qianrong's Thunderbirds defeated the greatly respected and very prestigious Aininian Coyotes. Pavonistade, whose Fearless once took bronze in the Coupe, were defeated 3-2 by the Stallions and now lay at the bottom of Group G.

And as a result of some of these surprises and upsets, Atlia is on top of Group G, and possibly poised to advance to the knockout round of the Coupe in its first time participating- an impressive feat, and one that would upset all the predictions. That, of course, brings us to today's question: can the Stallions make it to the knockout round?

Unfortunately, while some teams have done well enough to guarantee advancement- Kraq, the Qianrongs, Osonia, and Luziyca, respectively- Atlia is not one of them. Presently, Atlia has four points, tied with Sandhelm, and only leads the group because of goal difference. If Atlia loses its next game and Sandhelm wins or ties its next game, then Atlia remains at four points while Sandhelm rises to seven or five points; if Atlia loses or ties its next game and Senterland wins its next game, then Atlia remains at four or rises to five points while Senterland rises to five points, meaning who advances and who fails would be decided by goal difference.

Atlia's next game, somewhat conveniently, is against Sandhelm. As a result, an Atlian victory guarantees advancement to the knockout rounds, because Senterland would not be able to make up the points difference even if they win their next match, against Pavonistade. By contrast, if Sandhelm wins, then Atlia's fate hangs on whether or not Senterland beats or ties Pavonistade. If Senterland ties, then Atlia advances, albeit by the skin on its teeth. But if Senterland wins, then Atlia and Senterland are tied for points and it comes down to goal difference; right now Atlia has a narrow lead, but that narrow lead could vanish entirely if the Stallions have a bad time tomorrow.

So what are the odds that a perfect scenario occurs? Sandhelm's Foxes are indeed a battle-hardened team, having participated in multiple previous Coupes, but that alone was not enough to save the Fearless from their 3-2 loss to Atlia on the first matchday. Both the Foxes and the Stallions have similar records in this Coupe- one win, one draw, four points. Atlia has gotten more goals in than Sandhelm, and has a better goal difference- but Sandhelm has had no goals scored against it yet. Ultimately, it's hard to predict whether the Foxes or the Stallions will emerge triumphant.

The Senterland-Pavonistade match might be even harder to predict. While Pavonistade is at the bottom of the group, it is also true that a cornered animal fights the hardest. And, adding to the chaos, Senterland forward Aksel Humbert and substitute defender Jon Larsen have been deported from Livancia after a bizarre sexual escapade involving dildos, a waterslide, and a fire extinguisher (look it up- we're not joking). With two players missing and the team expelled from their hotel, the Senterist team may be in a very poor condition for tomorrow's match.

Regardless, Atlia's players are confident. Speaking to a press conference following the Atlia-Senterland match, center forward and captain Abdilâh Aydoğan said he was sure that Atlia would advance. "We have truly been blessed by God to have this wonderful opportunity, and I am convinced that every single person on this team has the skill and the drive to make our dreams into a reality." Coach Anar Bölükbaşı echoed Aydoğan's statements, saying that the Stallions had "struck some fear into the Fearless" and were "more than ready to take on any opponent the Coupe can throw at them." No doubt these opinions are shared by the thousands of Atlian fans who traveled to Livancia to see the Coupe in person and the thousands more cheering the Stallions on from home.

The Atlian Stallions play Sandhelm's Foxes tomorrow. The match will be broadcast by the Atlian Radio and Television Corporation, as well as by Aucuria National Radio and Television, Independent Aucuria Television, and Sports Network Aucuria.

Pisdara wins 2-1 over Korivania, may make Group of Sixteen
The Pelicans are sure partying tonight. The Pisdari football team has just beaten Korivania 2-1 in today’s match, continuing a successful bucking of expected failure to tie with former champs yesterday during its match with Vyvland and now win against one of the previous Coupe d’Esquarium’s stronger contenders in the group stage.

Scoring a goal early into the game, the Pelicans faced heavy resistance by the Korivanians, who were able to score a goal and tie the game mid-way through. Despite this, the Pisdari offensive stayed strong, with forward Ekur En-Me-Nuna coming to the challenge and scoring another goal quickly after the Korivanians leveled the field. With their first international win, the Pelicans are currently riding a streak that may now take them to the Group of Sixteen and even the finals if luck is on the side of the Pisdaris. The team colgatulated Korivania on playing such a great and sportsmanlike match (no major instances arose between the two teams or their fans) and wished them luck on their match tomorrow against Vyvland.

The Pelicans themselves will play against Montecara tomorrow once again at Qasam al-Qadhar stadium in il-Duhl. Montecara, a well-known name in Coupe d’Esquarium, defeated Vyvland in their match 6-1, showing that they are starting strong. Despite the heavy competition, the Pelicans stated they will hopefully make it to the Group of Sixteen.

Constitutional draft sent back, referendum called for Wednesday
With the constitution sent back from the National Assembly of Ainin after a rather quick opposition to various amendments pertaining to free trade, the Territorial Council has confirmed it will hold a referendum on a second draft on Wednesday, according to Governor Alain Bergeron. “Between now and then, we will hopefully create a draft that shows Pisdara is willing to regain its status as a shining beacon for Nautasian democracy.”

The free-trade agreement, which saw both Ainin’s largest union and the Social Democratic Party rally against, is the offending piece that will be changed, or if the Liberals have their way, simply worded differently, before the Wednesday referendum. All major political groups on the islands have supported a ‘yes’ vote, hoping that they will be able to draft the second document towards their liking within the two-day span.

Redemption or Damnation: After tonight's loss to Pisdara, how will we fare against Vyvland?
Image
Logo of the Korivanian ShadowEagles.

Qasam al-Qadhar, Livancia Tonight was an unexpected and disappointing loss for the Korivanian ShadowEagles, losing 2-1 to the team from Pisdara. Many in the sports analyst community were shocked as well at the unexpected Pisdaran victory. But in truth, what has been done has been done, and our ShadowEagles played their hardest against the Pisdaran Pelicans. Now, let's see what the future holds for the Korivanian ShadowEagles. Tomorrow, our beloved ShadowEagles will be going up against the Vyvlander team. The Vyvlander team has been through many CdEs and has a large track record of success, so in this match the odds would be against the Korivanian ShadowEagles. However, this doesn't mean that it's a given that the team from Vyvland will crush Korivania in tomorrow nights match. When the ShadowEagles entered their first Coupe d'Esquarium, they were not expected to do as well as they did by the majority of analysts. However, the ShadowEagles surprised a lot of people when they crushed Montezelo in the ShadowEagles first game ever. However, most were not surprised when the Korivanian team defeated the team from Vitoria, considering that's the CdE is the only time when the nation of Vitoria was even somewhat relevant.

Snarky comments aside, although the balance of power may be in Vyvland's favor tomorrow night, there is still a significant chance that the Korivanian ShadowEagles will surprise the world once again, and they may just end up defeating the team from Vyvland.

Anna Soûmmé elected President!
A STUNNING VICTORY FOR THE CONSERVATIVES
It sure is a great day for the conservatives in Monthuhasse and the Conservative Block* in the Senate. Both of whom breathed a sigh of relief when news came that Anna Soûmmé was just elected first female President of Monthuhasse. After a drawn-out battle with former Prime Minister and Democratic Unionist Mar Sough, Soûmmé only won by 2% of the vote! From voter analyzes, it seems that Mrs. Soûmmé won the support of the middle and upper-middle class families and mainly those within medium to small sized towns.
Image
Anna Soûmmé during a press conference with the
Hassinian Globe

In fifteen days, President-Elect Soûmmé will be expecting a very large crowd as she is publicly sworn in by Chief Justice Sadbh and gives a televised speech with an audience expected to be around ten million. She and the Vice President-Elect Alfed Alaníí will be hosting the annual Welcoming Dinner. Just hours after the results were announced, current Prime Minister Hhyiee submitted his letter of resignation. The current Conservative Party leader, David Shougholgêr is expected to take over as Prime Minister when President Soûmmé takes office. In fact, Shougholgêr personally went to go congratulate Mrs.Soûmmé. As of right now, no new cabinet positions have been announced, however, both the Commerce Minister and the Foreign Affairs Minister have resigned. President-Elect Soûmmé has said publicly that she has no plans for dismissing the Senate or the current cabinet.

Just three hours after the results were announced, a crowd of 20,000 met Mrs. Soûmmé in her victory speech. There, she reiterated his conservative plan for the nation and gave many thanks. She is currently in Hotel Duree in the heart of the capital city Victorē.

What impact does this have on the government?
Seven months ago, the nation's conservatives partied on and on as for the first time in twelve years, the Conservative Party was elected into government, putting it at odds with Soûmmé predecessor, the Democratic Unionist President Bushâ Sýnscḣo̊. Since then, calls for a conservative in the presidency have been long expected. Political scientists note that having the same party or coalition in both the government and presidency results in more activity and progress.

However, to answer the question, very minimal.

Because the President is very much a ceremonial role, their beliefs and ideas are not as important as that of the Prime Minister. Mr. Shougholgêr's policy is similar to that of his predecessor with some differences in social beliefs (Shougholgêr is considered more socially liberal than former Prime Minister Hhyiee). It seems to us that the government will continue course regardless of the outcome of the election. From looking at the data, the Presidency of Sough vs. that of Soûmmé would not be very different as both are considered moderates within their respective political parties and Sough is sometimes categorized as being on the right-leaning camp of the Democratic Unity Party (DUP). As previously mentioned, no major cabinet or government changes will be made as a result of the election and the government will most likely stay its course. All President Soûmmé could do is push the government ever so slightly to the moderate right.

Reactions
Reactions, like most elections, are mixed. Most mainlanders have praised the election results. The left camp has even come out with positive statements on the election. Perhaps the strongest critics come from the Autonomous Kingdom of Vyuel. Soûmmé has come out against Vyuel on many occasions and even shared insulting slurs about the independence movement with her husband. Other critics include many religious minorities (as a result of Soûmmé's anti-refugee and conservative immigration beliefs) and members of the LGBT+ community.

*The Conservative Block reffers to the current government coalition. It is made up of the Conservative Party and the Libertarian Capitalist Party.

Two members of the ShadowEagles celebrating their victory after last nights game.

Qasam al-Qadhar Last night, the Korivanian ShadowEagles defeated, or as an excited ShadowEagles fan put it, "destroyed" the Vyvlander team, in an unexpected victory that had even the ShadowEagles manager, Matthew Conicalaj, surprised.

In the first half of of the match, there was heavy resistance from both the Korivanian side, and the Vyvlander side. As a result, the game was in a stalemate, and many thought it would end in a tie. But in the latter part of the middle portion of the game, the tide started to change in the ShadowEagles favor. This happened when ShadowEagles player Josef Patan managed to maneuver past the Vyvlander players and score the first goal for the Korivanian ShadowEagles. A substitute DF player who was sitting on the bench Artim Feraj commented on it, saying "It was like he was pointed one direction the next, and then one way the other. Next thing you know, he scores a goal and you hear the crowd go crazy." A possible reason for this sense of surprise is probably because many people expected that the game would stay in a stalemate and end up a tie, or even that the ShadowEagles might lose. Later on, the ShadowEagles scored another goal, and the game ended with a 2-0 victory for the Korivanian ShadowEagles. Another result of this match was that Vyvland was booted out of the Coupe d'Esquarium.

Despite this shocking and amazing victory for the Korivanian team, another challenge lies ahead. On April 28th, they will be going up against another nation that, like Vyvland, is also a skilled team. However, despite debuting back in CdE V, Lydland has been doing a little better than Korivania during this CdE. However, our analysts believe that this match will most likely be a toss-up, a will likely be a close match.

Esquarian Community referendum date set at August 5
Opposition vows strong campaign against membership
April 27, NMR 2378

QUESTION OF THE REFERENDUM:
"Should the People's Republic
of Namor apply to become a full
member of the Esquarian Community?"

CHOICES: Yes, No
SYSTEM: Majority vote; referendum
is valid if turnout is or exceeds 50% and over
50% of voters choose "yes"
NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - The Central Council decided that the referendum on Esquarian Community (EC) membership will be held on August 5, NMR 2379.

President-General Shohai Antelope, who had called the referendum a few days earlier, recommended to the Central Council that the vote be held on August 5. The Popular Front-dominated CenCo readily approved of the date in spite of objections from opposition legislators, several of whom moved to hold the vote on the day of the next general election in November NMR 2383. Because the referendum had already been called, the CenCo may only delay, not prevent, the vote from occurring.

In a press conference held after the CenCo vote, People's First Coalition (PFC) legislative leader Chia Bovang (#1) accused President-General Antelope of trying to "sell out Namor" and vowed to wage a strong campaign against EC membership.

"The first priority of the President-General is supposed to be the revival of our economy. Unfortunately, the Antelope administration has disregarded that and instead decided to pursue membership in a union that may have unimaginable political and economic consequences for the Namorese people," Chia said. "Our party calls on every Namorese to resist membership regardless of where they come from or what party they're aligned to."

The New Democrats also expressed their disapproval of EC membership, arguing that the latter is a burden on Namorese taxpayers.

"Namorese will have to pay more taxes to maintain the institutions of the Esquarian Community. It is unwise for President-General Antelope to throw this weight on the people when they need it the least," said Jiang Hua (#13).

Highlights of our journey
Image
Isaac Dobrev, head of the Luziycan football federation

MINAKBIR, LIVANCIA - Yesterday, there was a disappointment as we faced the Nevan Lions and got defeated, breaking our victory streak, and staining it with a loss. Isaac Dobrev has issued a statement regarding the CdE VI, and we take a look at the odds of us winning tomorrow's match against the Chiefs.

The highlights of yesterday's match
At the 11 minute mark, the Patriots score a goal: forward Mario Rusenov shot and scored, giving the Patriots a 1-0 lead over the Nevan Lions. After celebrations, at the 22 minute mark, Niko Väisänen attempted to score a goal, but was repelled by Andrei Rusik. Rusik kept the Nevans out of the goal, and by the end of the first half, the Luzzies were leading 1-0.

The second half though saw a decline in Patriot performance: at the 53-minute mark, defender James Rostov attempted to intercept Johannes Eklund's pass to Niko Väisänen failed, and Niko was able to tie the game in favor of the Nevans, evening the score. At the 61-minute mark, A.B. Normal scored a goal, retaking the lead for the Patriots at 2-1. But this lead would not last long, for at the 70-minute goal, Tero Kolkkala managed to tie the score once more.

At the 89th minute, just as it seemed like the match would go to overtime, Johannes Eklund scored a goal, ending the match with a 2-3 loss for the Patriots.

When asked by reporters, Karl Jung explained that "we did a decent job. We played well, we had a great time, and I have hopes that the match in two day's time [April 28th] shall end in a Luziycan victory. We will break the curse, and we shall win our second title this edition!"

Isaac Dobrev states that this is the "most peaceful" he's ever seen
Today, the head of the Luziycan Football Federation, Isaac Dobrev said that "this edition, despite being marred by boycotts, is, compared to the previous edition of the Chaska i Esquarium, the most peaceful that I have ever seen."

He stated that "apart from an incident in Belt tal-Lvant involving some players in the Senterland national team damaging a hotel, there has been a virtual absence of hooliganism and violence. I have absolute faith that compared to CdE V, CdE VI shall live up to its motto, and be genuinely fair and peaceful."

Our prediction for the immediate future
Now that we are in the Round of Sixteen, this match determines our fate: if we win tonight, we get to go on to the quarterfinals. If we do lose, we will have to pack our bags and head home.

Here are the standings as of the end of the Group Stage:
  • West Cedarbrook has 2 wins, and a loss: it scored 5 goals, and only had a goal scored against it
  • Luziyca has 2 wins and a loss: it has scored 7 goals, but has five goals scored against it

West Cedarbrook is the leader of Group A, while we are the runner-up, behind the Nevan Lions, who will be playing against Arkiasis tomorrow.

If we were to compare them, we may as well be at a disadvantage, it is quite clear that while we have a lot of fans travelling to Livancia, and they have done quite well in our group, the recent loss against the Nevan Lions may hamper their morale. We know that the Patriots are training well, but with the morale of the Patriots and the Chiefs, the Chiefs may have a bit higher morale than us.

Thus, we predict a 2-1 victory for the Chiefs. Sorry, Patriots.

Yrrek Jury Appears Near Verdict
Treason Jurors in Deliberation Since January 7; Judge Summonses Prosecutor, Lead Defense Counsellor

Image
Jon Yrrek, Accused Traitor
The 15 jurors in the treason trial of Jon Yrrek, accused of passing nuclear secrets to the West Cortoguayan regime may be close to a verdict at the Wrycova Central District Criminal Courts, after Judge Romek Nehemiah met with lead prosecution and defense attorneys following a 90 minute discussion with the jury foreman late yesterday. Lead Prosecutor Lechzek Tennenbaum, and Louis Jourdain, head of the defesne team met with Judge Nehemiah afterward in a conference that broke up about 9:15 PM yesterday. The tight lipped prosecutor did acknowledge to the press that he had been in contact with Attorney General Elliot Arnstein during the conference with the judge, but otherwise said nothing about whether or not the jury was about to announce a verdict. Mr. Jourdain had no comment to the Morning Star, and has been largely absent from Judge Nehemiah's courtroom following the Judge's denial of a motion for mistrial in mid-February. Strict limits on the reporting of the trial had been imposed by Judge Nehemiah, citing the sensitivity of much of the evidece regarding The Kramden's handling of nuclear fissile material, under control of the Council for Thermonuclear Material Planning and Control (CoTheMPC). Yrrek, a former commercial attache at the West Cedarbrook embassy in Sevoya, East Cortoguay, had been apparently blackmailed by the pacifist organization Organization for Military Arms Banishment in the Antarctic (OMABA), allegedly in the intersts of preventing nuclear proliferation in Conitia, but since designated by the Senate as a terrorist group. Judge Nehemiah had allowed a redacted summary of weekly proceedings to be released to the press since both sides opening statements. During the lengthy proceedings three of the jurors took ill, and were replaced by alternates. Two jurors have since returned to the deliberations, with the alternates that had served staying on as non-voting members. At the onset of the trial, prosecutor Tennenbaum's bench had been joined by attorneys from Attorney General Arnstein's office, and the Defense Intelligence Organization, who continue to monitor the proceedings.

Coach Gutman Meets the Press
In soccer, the Chiefs defeated the Islanders of Pucamha to lead Group A in the Coupe d'Esquarium VI, now underway in Livancia. The Screamin' Naciremans will face Luziyca's Patriots today at Minakbir (al-Watan). The Constitution of Luziyca predicts a Chiefs victory, 2-1 over a more experienced Patriot team. Coach Gutman, speaking to reporters after the Islander game said "Well, things have worked out well for the boys. Getting back on the world stage of soccer, we were looking forward to testing our skills with the best, and this game against the Patriots will sure do that. I've run into their coach, Al Smith, and win or lose, I'd be happy to have a few beers with him. Of course, that couldn't happen here in Livancia, it being dry and what not. But maybe after some meeting anywhere else, at least anywhere else we can get a drink. That's not my major task right now. I've got to get these boys ready for a real challenge". Captain Henri Fromstein added "Yes, confidence is up, but this will be a real test. Defense was good so far in the round robin, but now reality sets in. We're drilling hard". DM Doron Witzj and RM Eliahu Greene both told the Morning Star that they were considering meeting with sponsors of a fledgling Kramden Professional Soccer League, including representatives from the Bank of Wrycova and Steinhouse, Wolf Steel, Turing Machine, and ArcAir. The exposure to soccer spurred by participation in the games has attracted interest in the sport from the business community, and after the initial win against the host country, ratings for the matches have steadily increased. Attendance at the games in Lviancia from West Cedarbrook has been limited mostly due to unavailability of alcoholic beverages in the mostly Muslim country, but also by strict rules for inspection of travellers and their luggage for Cedarbrookese citizens upon return from the Emirate.

With 67% in favour, the new constitutional draft is surely set to be adopted after successful referendum
Image
This may be the new flag of a fully sovereign Pisdara after the success of
today's referendum.

Cheers erupted in the main street of Ashuragar tonight as the results for the constitutional referendum were released. A staggering 13,451 (66.62%) voted for the second draft of the constitution to be sent to the Aininian National Assembly, where it will most likely successfully pass and become official. The remaining 6,739 (33.38%) voted against the constitution and its enaction. According to the ballot counters, the turnout was a surprising 20,190 votes, or 84.91%.

The referendum, suggested by the National Assembly after the rejection of the first draft and called for since early April, has confirmed that the new draft will be most likely passed and adopted by mid-May. “I am very excited that the constitution has been approved, and I hope we can build a new and independent Pisdara within its framework”, stated acting Governor Alain Bergeron. The new constitution officially declares Pisdara an independent and democratic state, with Ainin’s role regulated to that of mere advisor and companion, rather than metropole. Celebrating crowds confirmed this by flying the blue-yellow-and-green Independence flag, and chanting “Long live a free Pisdara!” in both Pisdari and French. Even the Pelicans, Pisdara’s football team currenting in Livancia for the Coupe d’Esquarium, were able to congratulate and celebrate Pisdara’s newfound independence via social media, with team captain and forward Ekur En-Me-Nuna starting on Twitter that “Today may be the best day I ever had since the opening of CdE. Wish I was back in Ashuragar to celebrate!”

According to the Territorial Council, the offending free trade amendment was the main section of the rejected first draft that was amended, to the visible disappointment of the Liberals, who championed the agreement, but even Liberal leader Enmerkar Ibnatum was seen smiling as news of the referendum was released. “To be honest, the trade agreement is something I do feel was right, but I cannot complain about finally seeing an independent Pisdara.” With the constitution finally popularly approved and on its way to the National Assembly for a final vote, it now seems a free and independent Pisdara is on the horizon.

Pisdara tops Group D, to go against Deacon in Round of Sixteen
The Pelicans have topped Group D in the Coupe d’Esqaurium after their surprising 4-2 win against Montecara last night, and now will face off against Deacon in the Round of Sixteen tomorrow.

Successfully fighting off a defeat from the Montecarans, the Pisdaris were able to score constantly throughout the game, scoring 4-2 and seeing the Pelicans rise to the top of the group, with seven overall points in its favour. Tomorrow, the Pelicans will face off with the Deaconese team in Belt tal-Lvant, hopefully making it to the quarter finals. Deacon itself has been a relatively strong player, ending the Group E stage in second with four points and one win, against Atlantia Creek on April 24th.

Salbish Broadcasting Network
National Transitional Government Declared; Constitutional Convention to Convene May 1st
April 28, 2016

Karlsburg, Salbeiland - Citizens across the nation rejoice today as an official armistice has been signed between the remaining royalist forces and the new Federal Republic of Salbeiland. The conditions of the armistice include the exile of the royal family from the country and a military tribunal will prosecute former government and military leaders for crimes against humanity and the nation. These trials are expected to commence April 29th at Camp Kresthof in Northern Helmund. It is hoped that a swift end to the old regime can be reached and healing of the nation may begin in earnest.

Interim President Springstein has called for a constitutional convention to convene on May 1st and work until they have delivered forth a suitable constitution for ratification by the states. This convention will be made up of three representatives from each of the twelve new states, which is to include the interim governors and two other delegates. They have also been delivered the instructions that the government will not accept a new form of monarchy. Meanwhile Johann Goepper has been appointed to lead the National Transitional Council, responsible for ensuring that old regime forces are mopped up and transitioned into the new nation peacefully.

Military forces formerly loyal to the King will be thoroughly inspected and combed for seeds of corruption before being integrated into the provisional government's own armed forces. The new Salbish Defense Force will primarily focus on providing security in suppressing anti-revolutionary activity across the nation as mop up operations continue in major cities. It is to be noted that large demonstrations or gatherings of 20 or more people are temporarily outlawed by the National Transitional Council and will be punishable by death. The SDF and NTC thank all of it's citizens for cooperation in this transitional period.

Questions have risen with the provisional government on what to do about the approx 72,000 troops deployed overseas. Interim President Springstein has handed down orders that they are to continue their missions abroad, and the withdrawal from Irvadistan will go ahead as planned. Springstein said today, "It is still in Salbeiland's interests abroad to keep troops in Kraq to continue working to destroy the caliphate and ensure peace and stability in the region." when asked about whether he planned for a third escalation in the region he declined to comment. Instability in other neighboring nations has lead leading political analysts to believe that intervention in the region is far from over and that the new government will be just as interventionist as the monarchy. Announcements from the provisional Ministry of the Exchequer note a likely tax hike to support ongoing war efforts.

Updates on the upcoming trials will come shortly. Until then, this is SBC nightly news.

The light at the end of the tunnel

Coach Gutman of the West Cedarbrookese Chiefs

MINAKBIR, LIVANCIA - Today, the Luziycan Patriots have advanced from the Round of Sixteen to the quarterfinals, with the Patriots scoring a 2-1 victory over the West Cedarbrookese Chiefs in the pitch at the al-Watan Stadium in the capital.

The highlights of the match
At the 16 minute mark, Chief forward William Shiffmn shot and scored a goal, giving the West Cedarbrookese Chiefs a lead (by one point). The celebration did not last long, for at the 27th minute, Phillipe DeSoliel's attempt at a goal would be intercepted by Patriot defender James Rostov, who then passed it to Gregory Todorov. Gregory then went on to make a pass to Mario Rusenov, who then scored a goal, tying the first half 1-1.

For the rest of the first half, both sides stonewalled each other's attempts to score further goals, meaning that at the end of the half, the results were a goal for the Patriots, and one for the Chiefs.

The second half was met with further stonewalling: attempts at the 52nd, 61st, and 72nd minutes by the Patriots, and at the 58th, 63rd, and 78th minutes by the Chiefs were met with fierce resistance and a failure to break the tie. It was only at the 86th minute when Gregory Todorov managed to score a goal for the Patriots, breaking the tie in our favor. The match came to an end with a 2-1 victory!

Our predictions for the quarterfinal match on April 30th
Our next opponent is Arkiasis: having defeated the Nevan Lions 1-0, and being runners-up in Group C, it may be a good thing that we aren't facing the Nevans again, considering what they have done to us this past Tuesday when we got trounced by them, and lost 2-3.

Compared to us, Arkiasis has a poorer win-loss record than us, with them only having a single win, a draw, and a loss (much like Estovnia, who they only failed to get in due to scoring less goals than Arkiasis). We could thus logically say that we can easily dominate them.

Except there is a catch: we confidently predicted a Patriot defeat, but somehow, we were able to scrape by and win the match. Arkiasis has scored 4 goals for during the group stage, but it took 4 goals against, so it has zero. We scored 7 goals for, and took 5 goals against us during the group stage, so we got +2.

Since both of us have won their most recent matches, this would be a match worth watching for, because while the odds appear to be in our favor, the Arkiasis national team may be able to pull off an upset and throw a spanner into our plans to bring the trophy back.

PCG responds to its designation as terrorist organization by Svensson

Image
Valdis Kortchens, "Pure Guardian"
of the PCG, pictured 2008
BETHLEHEM, LUZIYCA - As the riots in Firenze were dying down, President Sera Svensson signed an executive order that designated the Purity Congress as a terrorist organization. This massive blow to the white supremacist organization - involved in the Firenze riots and revealed to have infiltrated police forces - received criticism from PCG members such as the leader Valdis Kortchens.

Kortchens, the "Pure Guardian", condemned President Svensson's decision to sign the executive order. He claimed that "liberals and race traitors such as Sera Svensson have turned a blind eye on the threats to our existence. [...] For many years this country [Luziyca] has been hope for advocacy of the white people and celebration of white culture, but Svensson's bigotry have squandered our rights to take pride in our ancestry and race.

"Bigots complain of racism whenever the PCG or the whites try to benefit from the right to heritage, but there are no complains whenever non-whites do the same. What Svensson did was to outlaw the preservation of the very race she belongs to, and this is not in any way fair when the non-whites rise expotentially. [...] I can only hope that she and I will not get to see a Luziyca overrun by undesirables."

Some people joined Kortchen's side. The Ocelot Isles Guardian (leader of the Ocelotian PCG branch) Ulysses Warrenson states that "the government of Luziyca should wish that there won't be a massive influx of degenerates, leftists, and traitors at their doorsteps in the near future" after being notified of the executive order. Frontier Party council member Calvin Heites said "as much as [he] hate[s] the Purity Congress, painting every single member with the same brush isn't the way to go. The right and freedom of speech must be universal, even if we must bear hateful and illogical speech as a cost."

To others the executive order over the PCG is a victory to the anti-racists. Sinhakese interim president Helga Duta called this a "historical move" and said "the recognition of the Purity Congress as an organization that terrorizes people - children, youth, adults, seniors - for no justifiable reason will save the generations of today and tomorrow from further PCG trouble." Pavonistadian president Yksteldehs Oppenheim declared, "The executive order is a very commendable move on Svensson's behalf." Even several former PCG members, most of whom are maintaining anonymity, praised yesterday's developments.

The recent proposal to outlaw the PCG or designate it as a terrorist organization in Luziyca was brought up by Vice President Hardage but the idea is not new. In a presidential debate in 2015, then-candidate Svensson mentioned of a possible PCG ban, which was opposed by former president Breuvi Shjoraski and former PCG member Narsete La Via.

LEUWIK HEEBEN, MINISTER OF IMMIGRATION "WE SHALL GRANT THE RIGHT TO SHOOT ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO THE COASTAL DEFENCE FORCES"

Image
Leuwik Héeben, Minister of Immigration, Territories and Francilian Nationals outside the Union, in August 2015.

PONTNOUVEAU, L'AUBE CAPITALE - The first Council of Ministers under the Liet leadership was relatively quiet, however, someone made a lot of noise: the new Minister of Immigration, Leuwik Héeben, claimed to a RTF reporter:

The Prime Consul, Mr. Liet and the government are concerned about the massive arrival of illegal immigrants from the Nautasian war-torn countries, notably Kraq and Irvadistan. We understand that they need a new life, but there are legal ways to do it. And there are a bunch of liberal bobo countries that are willing to do it. The Union is full, for f*cks sake. The Minister of Security, Mr. Méneult, and me, are agreeing on the fact that the Coastal Defence Forces should be granted the right to shoot illegal immigrants coming by the sea.

Image
The Prime Consul, Cédric Liet, and the Minister of Police
and Security, Daniel Méneult, said that the proposal of Mr.
Héeben "is a good solution"

Yes, he said that: the Coastal Defence Forces shall be granted the right to shoot illegal immigrants coming by the sea. Mr. Héeben is known for his radical stances (he wanted to totally close the borders, in 2013), but some said that he has gone too far this time. The Prime Consul himself said that "he does not approve the formulation of the sentence".

Mr. Héeben's proposal is a good solution, but I do not approve the formulation of the sentence. I do not want to be figured as a blood-thirsty tyrant, killing women and children. But the Coastal Defence Forces should definitely have the right to use force and firearms if necessary.

The reactions to this proposal have more or less been negative. Republican Jean d'Aussy said in a press conference that "this proposal is not a good one. No. It simply isn't.". Former Prime Consul Claire Journay: "This government is mocking the Human Rights, no more, no less. The Constitutional Court shall decide on it."

But the harshest reactions came from the left. Coline Leroy said that "the biggest mistake of the Francilian history was electing Liet." The resigning president of Peace & Liberty, Renée Amstein, ally of Alain Laval, posted a caricature of Liet, Méneult and Héeben dancing on the dead corpses of an immigrant family on her Twitter account. "Put the fascists out" she then said.

Meanwhile, Héeben announced that he will submit this bill after the next parliamentary elections, in late May.

Some say he waits for the Patriots to win the majority of the seats.

2016 Federal Elections

Goldglass, Freyhill – With the Federal Elections coming to a close after a 42 day long campaign, Freyhillians are finally getting their say on their future for the next four year across the Commonwealth. Whatever the result, The Commonwealth will have a new Prime Minister for the first time in sixteen years, an extremely historic event that the Freyhillian People have been celebrating throughout the campaign. Freyhillians now get to drive the future of the government, whether they voted for the Foreign Policy and governmental expenditure restructure of Liberal Leader Mats Lundgren, the social spending of Labor Leader Myo Sung or the diplomatic neutrality and immigration of electoral wildcard - One Nation Leader Karolina Crusenstolpe. Freyhillians will now expect big change from the Commonwealth Government, with the next four years expected to be progressive in same-sex marriage, transparency and free internet. Since 8:00am, Freyhillians have been hitting the polling booths across the country to get their names marked off the rolls and vote.

Saricheok, Pohae - Along with the rest of the Commonwealth, Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Leader of the house and Liberal Leader Mats Lundgren has just submitted his vote in a local polling booth in his electorate - Saricheok. Being a very safe liberal seat, Minister Lundgren is expected to keep his electorate and remain Liberal Leader and possibly the next Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of Freyhill.

Borneung, Congcheon - Although that Won Chi Hun’s electorate of North Borneung is traditionally Liberal territory for the Coalition, Won Chi Hun has held the seat for the Nationals for the last sixteen years, effectively making it an unusual safehold for the National Party. Currently Interim Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of Freyhill, Won Chi Hun has just submitted her vote in a local polling booth and has begun to interact with constituents for the rest of election day.

Wonjin, Kusan - Being one of the strongest Labor seats in the Commonwealth, Myo Sung is most likely to be re-elected with a relatively large margin from Liberal’s candidate Wang Seung Eun. Although that Myo Sung may keep his seat, it's not all happy days in the Labor Party establishment - Most of Northern Freyhill is expected to go towards the Liberal/National Coalition.

Gangbaek, Sokwon - Being used as a weapon to secure electorate stability in Gangbaek metro, former Prime Minister Mangjol Chihye has been announced as the Liberal candidate for the electorate, causing a eventful campaign between Labor and the Coalition to secure one of the most volatile seats. Reported to just have voted in a local polling booth, Mangjol Chihye is now working with volunteers to try and persuade constituents to vote for Liberal.

Manhae, Congcheon - Since the election of Lucas Widforss in the electorate of Manhae, the seat has successfully turned into safe liberal ground, with the Minister expected to win big in today's election. Widforss has just voted in a local voting booth and has gone to social media to remind constituents that today is election day. Minister Widforss is expected to continue to work with constituents for the rest of the day.

Cognan, Congcheon - Although the incumbent of the seat is Karolina Crusenstolpe, the leader of the One Nation Party, Liberal is expected to close the margin between herself and their candidate in tonight's election, with Crusenstolpe expected to win through preferences. Although that Crusenstolpe’s seat is in danger, the party is expected to win big as a whole with an estimated 10 seats dedicated to the party. Crusenstolpe has just voted in a local voting booth and has gone to multiple functions throughout the electorate to celebrate the future of the Commonwealth.

State President Evren Volkan steps up efforts against the Caliphate

Image

Hundreds of thousands witnessed his speech, as the nation celebrates the birth of the late Hassan Gülbaran; Great Commander of the Union.

29/04/16 10.30am

Estanban - State President Evren Volkan has led the national celebration of Hassan Gülbaran's birthday with a landmark address to patriotic citizens in Estanban this morning. Before a crowd of well over 300,000 on the shores of the Siyahsu Defne, the State President declared that the "Union could no longer stand idly by and watch our continental kin become ever more defenceless before the unrelenting tide of death that is the Takfiri Movement [Caliphate], we must offer more, show more solidarity and take care of those who have nothing because of this tide of death". The State President also called for the Union to rally together in preparation for a new Nautasia.

The 29th April is an official national holiday in the Union, marking the birth of Hassan Gülbaran one of the founding fathers of the Ankoreni Union following the Ashura Revolution in 1923. Hassan Gulbaran was not only a close comrade of Nurcan Taylan the Eternal Father of the Union and first State President, but also his closest friend. Following Taylan's death in 1944, Gülbaran was elected State President by the Union Congress and held the position until 1960. Hassan Gulbaran was a key thinker behind Islamic Collectivism, the guiding principles of the Union and its 89 million inhabitants.

Other events have taken place across the country, with Prime Minister Qassem Akbari leading celebrations in Zahedan, the National Armed Forces are saluting Hassan Gülbaran at his tomb in the Monument to the Union, whilst schools and universities conduct rallies and special seminars reminding their students the value and importance of Islamic Collectivism to not only their well being but also the prosperity of the Union.
At the rally in Estanban, State President Volkan praised his predecessor.

"I firmly believe deep in my heart that if Hassan Gülbaran was not present at Nurcan Taylan's side, our Union would not exist today. I firmly believe if there was no Hassan Gülbaran, we would still be the victims of the tragedy that was the Republic. We would, like billions of others across the world be subject to the same pains and horrors that democracy and liberalism produce.

"We owe our Union to the work of both its Eternal Father, Nurcan Taylan and its Great Commander, Hassan Gülbaran" he said. Yet State President Volkan used today's festivities to raise the issue of the Takfiri movement, also known as the so-called Caliphate.

"Yet when we all remember the life, the contribution and the magnificent man that is Hassan Gülbaran, I also reflect upon him and the world today, especially the so called Caliphate. What would Hassan Gulbaran do, were he with us today? I believe that he would ensure that Ankoren is assisting its continental and Islamic kin as much as possible.

"Because the truth is simple, we have been content within our own borders for too long, we have been content for too long, with this tide of death consuming the lives of thousands of innocents in our fellow Islamic countries, simply because they have not consumed us. Yet we risk being drowned in the blood of innocents through our inaction, I know that Hassan Gülbaran would never let such a travesty engulf Ankoren, I know that we cannot.

"We owe it to the Islamic World and indeed to all of Nautasia to be the state that can be trusted to assist them when it is needed, to offer them the helping hand they crave. We owe to Nautasia to be the builders of the new Nautasia, to be the architect of the new Nautasia that will be built atop the ruins of the Takfiri movement.

"That is why I am using this day to announce that the Union will be taking ever greater action against the evil that is the Takfiri movement. As of today, any man or women found purchasing oil produced in the Takfiri held territories will be arrested and the oil destroyed. I have also ordered the Habroun border crossing to be reinforced and completely blocked. The Union will also be granting Irvadistan $500 million to assist in its war effort, as well as an assortment of weapons and ammunition to arm its proud citizens in their fight for survival.

"We have been blessed by escaping the pains of their evil, we have been blessed with escaping the grief of war, but that does not mean we should nothing. If we are to be the state that brings order and harmony to the Islamic World then we should begin by offering Irvadistan financial and materiel assistance, whilst also clamping down on the vultures within our own society that would purchase the oil produced by this death cult.

"They [the Caliphate], can never truly comprehend the hatred the world feels for them, the fury and will to see them destroyed. I want the world to also known that this Union, the harbinger of order and harmony for all Nautasia will assist in its destruction and we also be at the forefront of the effort to build a new Nautasia out of its ashes. But I also believe, that the Caliphate has been a force for good in one sense, the same sense that an earthquake or hurricane can be a force for good; by tearing down the old, the dilapidated and antiquated structures, allowing new, stronger structures to emerge in the aftermath.

"The time has come to finally prepare the way for a new Nautasia, a new Islamic World, built with order and harmony, built by the hands of the Union" he said.

Today's events came as news broke that the Popular Committee for Combating Extremism has arrested a further 26 people implicated in last week's raid which shut down a pro-Caliphate internet recruitment group. All 26 face charges of terrorism and treason, whilst the Shia clergy has successfully lodged charges of apostasy against them. All 26 face the death penalty and will be sentenced by a State Tribunal next Friday.

Muslim populations causing unrests in Tas-Ġazzja

  • Local Islamic movements being suspected
  • State of emergency in San Ġwann and Port ta'Ġazzja
  • Minor incidents in Il-Ħersa

Image
The Islamist protesters attacked policemen while saying "Crusaders must be beheaded"

This saturday saw the neighbourhoods of San Ġwann and Port ta'Ġazzja in Tas-Ġazzja being invaded by hordes of radical Islamists protesting in the streets, screaming things like "Allahu Akbar", "Shariah for Al-Falitah", "Behead Christians" and attacking policemen. The strong Muslim minority in Tas-Ġazzja is hiding several radical Islamists and potential jihadists in it, while, of course, a lot of stay quiet in their homes and coexist peacefully with Christians and the irreligious. The organizers of these Islamist protests, the Imam of the radical Rasheed Ben Ali Mosque Sajjad Ikraam Qasim Amirmoez, and a West Naturayan "missionary" tied to the Caliphate, Rasheed Imen Bassem Saqqaf, were arrested tonight and placed in provisional detention, but the unrest, at this hour, still wasn't stopped.

Facing those Islamist unrest, the Chancellor, Pawl Briffa, declared a state of emergency concerning the neighbourhoods of San Ġwann and Port ta'Ġazzja.

Tonight, several minor incidents apparently caused by Islamists have been reported: cars were burnt, broken or had "Death to the Infidels" written on it, in the capital city of Il-Ħersa.

Incoming Freyhillian Prime Minister interacting with constituents during election night.

- (Goldglass, Freyhill) With the results ratified by the Electoral Commission of The Commonwealth of Freyhill, we can now officially say that Liberal/National Coalition Leader Mats Lundgren is going to be The 13th Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of Freyhill. With the Coalition enjoying a healthy five seat increase in the House of Representatives, The Government can comfortably run office for another term. But where did the seats come from? Political Analyst Henrik Hedberg explained to The Freyhillian that the Labor party has lot enormously in electorates within the Northern Provinces of Pohae, Sinchon and Congcheon from the leadership of Mats Lundgren and the growing emergence of One Nation within the Diet of Freyhill. Along with the ratification of the Electoral Commission, Governor-General Pyon Jung Min declared Lundgren as Prime Minister through her Constitutional Powers - Setting the opening of Diet and Swearing in of Cabinet on the 14th of May, 2016.

During her Commonwealth address, Pyon officially stood down from her post of Governor-General of Freyhill, being effective on the 20th of May, 2016. Believing that the moments she had cherished since receiving the post must be shared with once another Freyhillian, she wished Prime Minister luck in finding a strong replacement for representing our Sovereign. Although that Governor-General Pyon only had Dae Jong-Ji serve as elected Prime Minister whilst representing the Emperor Incumbent, she still saw large transition of Government over the last sixteen years - Through times of economic prosperity and recession.

Karolina Crusenstolpe, The Leader of Freyhillian One Nation has grown immensely during the electoral campaign, with her party picking up a total of eight seats - A massive improvement from the 2013 elections. A result seen not just by Freyhillians, but the International Community as a whole. Though its not all smiles in Goldglass, Labor should be extremely worried throughout this term - Polls suggest that One Nation will take over their party as Opposition after the 2020 Federal Elections. With growing tensions across Esquarium, Karolina has pledged to reinstate diplomatic neutrality towards the Commonwealth - Ending decades of diplomatic tensions between Freyhillian allies.

Freyhillian media in the last few days were flooded with images of Liberal
candidate Mats Lundgren

Goldglass, Freyhill - The results of the Freyhillian general election are out: Mats Lundgren of the Liberal Party outperformed the other candidates with a large majority of the popular vote. The Pickle send a correspondent to Goldglass to cover the election and ask locals about who they think is best suited to be prime minister. Our correspondent was quite surprised to find out that a majority of residents supported Mats Lundgren because they didn't have any good idea who the other candidates were and what exactly they stood for.

Young Jun-Ho, 24

PNN: Mr. Young, who are you voting for?

YJH: Mats Lundgren, obviously.

PNN: Why?

YJH: I believe Freyhill will be better off under a Lundgren administration.

PNN: Just a curious question, what do you think sets Mr. Lundgren apart from the other candidates?

YJH: ...

PNN: You don't know?

YJH: Wait, there are other candidates?

Joon Young, 45

PNN: Who are you voting for?

JY: Lundgren administration.

PNN: I understand that Mr. Lundgren is very popular in this country. But tell me, why do you think other candidates such as Myo Sung or Karolina Crusenstolpe are unfit for the Freyhillian leadership?

JY: Because I never heard of these other people. Like, you don't know who they are, they don't have any social media platform, and their pictures rarely show up on The Freyhillian or Chaeneol Yeonbang or Twitter. Lundgren on the other hand, he is actually there, like, you know? He's there. You see him and his smiling face everywhere. Obviously, you got to vote for the person who has some sort of appearance.

Hyun-Woo Sung-Hyun, 37

PNN: Tell me why Myo Sung is not suitable for Prime Minister as opposed to Mats Lundgren.

HWSH: ...Myo Sung? Who the ____ is he?
