West Cedarbrook 1 - World News Tonight
With David Haber
In tonight's headlines:
    * Antarctic Storm Jacob moves into commerce zone
    * Libertarians still trail in Senate election polls
    * Esquarium Games team roster presented
    * Aininian bombardment of Peitoa underway
    * Socialist riots in Kraine
<Camera switches to Anchorman, shows weather satellite image of Antarctic Storm Jacob in background>
Good evening. Antarctic Storm Jacob has moved north, now 1200 miles South southeast of Ironton. Shipping is now restricted in the Southeast Antarctic. Deliveries to Slega and Aissuroup have been delayed. Meteorologists expect the storm to head northeast, reducing to a force 4 storm in the South Central by the middle of next week.

This week's West Cedarbrook 1/Wrycova Morning Star poll shows Conservatives still ahead for the September Senate elections, with an expected pickup of 26 seats. Recently there
has been an effort by Libertarian candidates to put a distance between themselves and Wrycova Mayor Harry Kaplan. Mayor Kaplan has lately busied himself at City Hall, and cancelled
all speaking engagements until late August. Following a meeting between Kaplan, Senate President Kaminski, and former President Steinberg last Friday. Kaplan continues under fire
at City Council meetings for his pacifist views on The Summer War, and is sometimes pelted by soap when visiting outside Wrycova. It appears that the Libertarians in South State have successfully pulled away from the anti-war message, with two Senate seats there now leaning back toward Libertarian incumbents. The gubernatorial race in South has now narrowed,
with Conservative challenger Linda Dautrieve now 2 points behind Governor James Prenevaou.

The West Cedarbrook Sports Association has announced the preliminary roster for The Esquarium Games in Hartly, Ainin. Among the athletes with a good chance for medals are Trap Shooter Cindy Levine, and Heavyweight Boxing contender Bert Hefter.
<cuts to clip of Levine>
Of course I'm thrilled to represent West Cedarbrook at the Harly Games. I've had my eye on international competition for a long time, and I'm sure the other athletes also look forward to this chance to test our skills with the best at these games.

Bert Hefter couldn't be reached for comment at this time.

In overseas news, the Aininian Air Force has commenced bombardment of Peitoa, following the declaration of war triggered by Pietoan acts of piracy earlier this year. Operations are reported underway. No casualty counts are as yet available. At this time no West Cedarbrook ships are in the combat zone, having been restricted from the area by a Red paper. The Department of External Affairs continues to advise divertment of shipping and travel away from the zone and toward safe ports in Ainin and Atlantica. President Feld has voiced support for Ainin in the conflict in the East Namor Sea.

Rioting has broken out in Kislev, Kraine following the defeat of a Socialist faction in recent elections. About 1500 West Cedarbrookese are resident in the city for business or vacation. The Department of External Affairs has commented that the cousulate in Kislev is in contact with all visitors there, and has advised them to be ready to evacuate in the event it becomes necessary. Arc Air's and connecting service to Kislev has not been impacted, and External Affairs continues to monitor the situation.

Peitoan leader Jung Fa dies
Namo to cease attacks, hoping for "responsible actions" taken by successors
July 8, NMR 2368

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - Peitoan state media confirmed that its leader, Jung Fa, has died from "natural causes," as it was explained on Minpo Namora, the Peitoan newspaper.

The news was released 24 hours after his death occurred, since state media said Jung passed on July 4. He was eighty years old. The report, which made headlines in Peitoa for obvious reasons, did not specify on which hour Jung died or how he actually died. Prior to this, there was little knowledge among Peitoa's people or the outside world on the leader's health condition.
Image
A scene from Novi Namor, Peitoa, hours after two buildings were
struck by Aininian air strikes

In its obituary, Minpo Namora claimed that Jung "was loved and looked up upon by all Namorese," and even called him "the epitome of a people-loving, democratic President." It also accused the central government in Namo for "portray[ing] [Jung Fa] as a 'mass murderer,' 'corrupt,' and 'dictator,' but to no avail."

"Jung Fa died a martyr's death," said state media, which went on to say he had died "fighting aggression from the Greens on the mainland, followed by...their lapdogs in Ainin."

It also hinted that despite Jung's death, Peitoa will remain as defiant as ever.

"[T]he struggle to end the aggressors' actions will not end because of [Jung's] departure," said Minpo Namora.

The announcement concluded by saying that the Peitoan leadership is now headed by a "provisional" leader, Ryan Cha, a five-star general in the Peitoan military.

Jung Fa was the grandson of late Republican Namorese leader Jung To, who fled the Namorese mainland following the defeat of his party in the Namorese Civil War. Although born in mainland Namor, Jung moved with his grandson to Peitoa when the Liberationist Party took over the mainland, spending his childhood---and life---in the shadows of the military dictatorship his grandfather set up in the name of preserving order so the regime can focus on "retaking the mainland."

He took power in NMR 2340 in what Peitoa claimed to be a "democratic election," although speculators pointed out that he was the only candidate to take part in that election. Giving himself the unrecognized title of "Lingtonamora (Leader of All Namorese)" and having propaganda paint himself as a national hero and savior, Jung ruled the archipelago for a straight 28 years, until now. The regime gives Jung credit for pulling Peitoa through despite all-out sanctions imposed by foreign countries, although critics denounced Jung for his corruption, repression, and his friendly relationship with other authoritarian countries in Esquarium, including Qianrong, New Zepuha and Arnborg.

The last act which put Jung in the world's cross-hairs was when he issued orders to capture a civilian ferry from mainland Namor, the Changlang, which to this day is still under Peitoan custody. Peitoa's actions---condemned widely as a violation to international law---led to the ensuing Changlang Crisis, in which Peitoa threw itself into a conflict with Namo and Ainin.

The conflict was still ongoing during the time state media said Jung died, and is still ongoing, although the Namorese government is uncertain on whether the new leadership of Peitoa will continue to defy Namo or give in. The Executive House said that it will cease all military activities against Peitoa "for the time being," and has expressed hope that the new leadership will take "responsible actions" in dealing with this crisis.

Namorese dairy imports temporarily 'suspended'

Image
All Namorese dairy products will be banned for 90 days

BETHLEHEM, F.C. - News of the milk scandal that has been breaking out in Namor has resulted in a decision made by the Health Section of the Department of State to suspend all Namorese import for a period of 90 days and to recall all Namorese milk products that have already reached shelves to prevent a risk of contamination.

"This recall," explains Danielle Varanken in her position as Secretary of the Department of State, "only affects Namorese dairy products. All other Namorese products will continue to be allowed in for 90 days. It only will affect specialty stores catering to Namorese imports, since most supermarkets only sell Luziycan, Katranjian, or Geadish milk." She also explains that "Nantainese dairy will not be affected since they follow health guidelines agreed by the dairy industry and the Health Section of the Department of State, which bans the addition of melamine, and it obviously isn't part of Namor."

Out of concern that it could be seen by the Namorese government as retaliation for the recently passed act by the Central Council accusing Luziyca of providing funding to Arnborg, thereby undermining detente, the entire cabinet of the Christian Republic released an official statement, stating that "The decision made by the Health Section of the Department of State of the Christian Republic of Luziyca to suspend dairy imports from Namor for ninety days is solely because of the ongoing health crisis involving contaminated milk, not because of the Luziycan Accountability Act that has been passed by the Central Council of the People's Republic of Namor."

Many Namorese specialty stores have already removed Namorese dairy products from the shelves, meaning that milk, cheese, and other dairy products produced in Namor are not on the shelves, and most likely won't be for 90 days (i.e. until October 6), but if the Namorese government doesn't deal with the problem by then, it can be extended indefinitely in increments of 90 days. The Department of Homeland Security has begun to thoroughly search cargo vehicles for Namorese dairy products with any dairy products seized, but the rest of the cargo allowed to be delivered to its destination.

Standard of living in Luziyca way (!!!) higher than that of Namor's, State Department says

Image
Bethlehem (pictured here) looks better than any Namorese city

BETHLEHEM, F.C. (FASCIST CAPITAL) - A study done by the Department of State, as directed by Lucas Yerevanov, prove that Luziyca has higher standards of living than their slant-eyed neighbors out east. Looking at the numbers and statistics, there is evidence that Luziycans enjoy standards of life that are EXTREMELY higher than that of Namor's.

Luziyca's GDP per capita is $53,000. Namor's GDP per capita is only $52,999.99. There is an ABSOLUTE difference between the GDPs of Luziyca and Namor, and the numbers can speak for themselves, showing that Luziycans are richer than Namorese, because we have freedom, we have democracy, and, most of all, we have LIBERTY.

Luziyca's Human Development Index is 1.000. This is higher than any other Esquarian country, and Luziyca is capable of having no flaws in human development because there are no beggars, no unemployment, no poverty, no slums---the government makes sure all slums that attempt to exist in this country are razed and all inhabitants in it processed. And what is Namor's HDI? It is NOWHERE NEAR 1.000 which is our HDI, but instead, it is 0.999. Namor has a lot of beggars, poor people, and a lot of slums because their socialist government does not want to clear the slums in their country. The difference between them and us is that we have freedom, we have democracy, and, most of all, we have LIBERTY.

In Luziyca, we are so prosperous that, in both men's and women's washrooms, there are toilets which people can sit on. In Namor, men's washrooms are so poor, they only have urinals. Luziycan men's bathrooms do NOT have urinals, because we are prosperous. We have freedom, we have democracy, and, most of all, we have LIBERTY.

In Luziyca, we eat with metal tongs. In Namor, they eat with bamboo sticks. Come on, that reminds all of us of Kofeiyan utensils. Namorese people do not know how to eat with the proper utensils, because they have yellow skin. We have white skin, and, we have freedom, we have democracy, and, most of all, we have LIBERTY.

Another fun fact---Namorese people are so poor, they have to receive annual funds from the government every Namorese New Years' in the form of red baggies. None of that happens in Luziyca, and Mr. Yerevanov explains why.

"We have freedom, we have democracy, and, most of all, we have LIBERTY," Yerevanov told The Constipation.

We hope this news enlightens our people. Continue subscribing to The Constipation to get more news from the FREEST nation on Earth. Until the next story arrives, we wish you peace from our toilet stall in downtown Bethlehem.

Candle Light Vigils and Rancid Milk

July 8th, 2014

Sinro City, New Zepuha - In recent news we have seen the rise and fall of a true freedom fighter. Jung Fa has perished, likely due to infrastructural damage caused by Aininian Airforce bombing raids. Tonight the Deputy Prime Minister will hold a candle light vigil in Patriot Square in the government district. It will run until midnight tonight where a demonstration team from the Royal Guard will fire a 21 gun salute and a bugler will play taps to conclude the night.

The nation mourns his loss, but also for the Namorese people. Though they have suffered through the terrible frights of the conflict, they are most harmed by this terrible conflict. While to government officially denounces the aggressive actions taken by Namor and Ainin they wish to carry on will daily business. The ban on trade with Namor has been lifted, save for the milk, and the MoE encourages that trade begin. The PM hopes that Peitoa will find a new era of stability and reconstruction.

The rancid milk in Namor has sparked growing concerns about the safety of New Zepuhas food supply. Just two years ago GMOs were banned and destroyed by government agents, and now concerns are being raised about the safety of the food supply. The Ministry of Home and Infrastructure says the nation has nothing to worry about, but nay sayers in the public have other things to say.

One leader of the Clean Green New Zepuha movement had this to say after a protest that was peacefully held in Central Plaza Park in Sinro City: "The government continually ignores the fact that with our ever growing population more and more people will be needed to be fed. They are ignoring the filthy practices of factory farming that continue to cause a rise in diseases and suck up government subsidies, I would encourage any of you to write your MP about this issue and speak out at provincial and city-town council meetings!"

The dissenting argument comes from a biologist and animal scientist within the MoHI: "The industrial factory farming process does not pose a serious health risk, rather the eating habits themselves cause the issue. Too many New Zepuhans are ignorant of the harmful foods they ingest on a daily basis. The process in which the animals are raised are not of concern and I say it should stay."

Several MPs are meeting in the parliament for the Public Health and Agriculture Committee to discuss these rising issues.

To: The Board of Directors at the Pickle News Network
From: The Board of Directors of The Constitution

Our company has received reports of a "member" of your news network, on the eighth of July in the 2014th year of our Lord, The Constipation publish an article involving the Christian Republic of Luziyca comparing their living standards with the People's Republic of Namor. On behalf of the company, we fully recognize that it was a satirical article produced by The Pickle News Network.

URGENT: Bombing in Brookopolis
21 Dead, 28 Additionally Wounded, City in State of Emergency

Image

Brookopolis-- A bomb detonated at around 19:30 today in Brookopolis, resulting in the confirmed deaths of twenty-one people. An additional twenty-eight are confirmed wounded at this time. Police are saying that ten out of the twenty-one dead was an entire squadron of Jahistic Youth Corps that were patrolling the area on a nightly watch program. The bomb was in a bus which was allegedly pulled over on a curb.

Authorities have stated that the attack was not a "lone wolf" attack. They have presented a letter during a press conference by the so-called "Great Unolian Society." This group challenges the guiding idea of Jarrod Thuman Thought and the rule of the Jahistic Party. They claim that terrorist attacks like these will continue, with no end in sight. An investigation has been ordered by the Jahistic Party Discipline Committee and the Unolian Court System into this group.

The Party Secretary General for Brookopolis, Alyssa Lancaster, said that Brookopolis will be under a state of emergency for four weeks. Back in the Capital, a dual press conference by the Commander of the National People's Military Police, Alicia Reinman and the Chairwoman of the National JPU Committee on the Jahistic Youth Corps, Ashley Juno said that there would be a "clean sweep" of the Party and an investigation was in order. The General Secretary, Jacob Connors, is set to make an announcement soon on the matter. Keep tuned for updates.

UPDATE 1: 00:38: The Jahistic Party declares one week of mourning in an official press release. Death toll has jumped to twenty-three when two more people succumb to injury from the attacks. One thousand JLF Military Police have been deployed to Brookopolis.

The Constipation to merge with The Constitution?
Editor welcomes The Constitution to join its ranks

Image
Varanken Bethlehemov, Editor-in-chief and CEO of The Constipation,
says merging with The Constitution is necessary in order to combat the
Communist publicity machine

BETHLEHEM, F.C. (FASCIST CAPITAL) - Varanken Bethlehemov, Editor-in-chief of The Constipation, says he believes The Constitution and The Constipation will make a great team, and that he welcomes The Constitution staff to join The Constipation, leading to a merger between the two newspapers. This is what Bethlehemov has to say about cooperating with The Constitution:

"Well, certainly The Constitution is a great newspaper, bent on informin' people on what's really goin' on in this world. They spread good news, unbiased news, unlike the crap everybody's been readin' outside of this friggin' country that's Luziyca. They don't succumb to commie propaganda and nor do we. We at The Constipation are identical to The Constitution, we both spread unbiased news and we both receive lotsa audience. I'm thinkin' that maybe The Constitution's staff can pay a visit here sometime, maybe join The Constipation so we can work together to fight the Communist propaganda machine.

"There is hope for that, y'know," continued Bethlehemov, and he then showed us a letter from our friends at The Constitution. "These Constitution peeps have shown their desire to cooperate with us, to mock our humor, to, eh, print good news with us. This is our response: sure, why not? I mean, there's no better couple than The Constipation and The Constitution. I tell the editor of The Constitution that my paper is more than willing to cooperate with you, so long as the company after the merger retains our name, 'cause I think the 'Constitution' name's just too communist and boring."

Bethlehemov went on to tell us the benefits of a Constipation-Constitution merger.

"A larger newspaper, more readers, more trustworthy content...I can go on and on, but I'm just goin' to stop here," said Bethlehemov. "All I have to say is I love The Constitution and hopefully they love us. We should be brothers and love each other, and merge."

The Masharikan Daily

Mashariki has new national symbols

Mashariki has gained brand new national symbols: a new flag, a new coat of arms and a new national anthem. The new flag consists of a pink flower with six petals with a golden dot in the middle, all inside of a white background. The new coat of arms will simply be the same flower, minus the background of the flag. And finally, the new national anthem will be The Land of the Sun. The 10th July ceremony was held today with the new national symbols being revealed to the public.

The new national symbols were received with much applause and chants for a new, free and developed Mashariki. The people of this nation have paid much respect to our High Esteemed Leader Mayen Shaleen. May Mashariki live a new era of prosperity after half a century of bloodshed and destruction!

Oil, growth, new identity for Mashariki

Image

The image below is an artist's impression of the new Larua Hall of Arts. That is just one of a very huge amount of examples of the new Larua, whose city centre is entirely filled with architecture influenced from classical architecture of Larena, which for several centuries had controlled Mashariki. Outside the centre, shiny, brand new skyscrapers will fill the other side of the new Larua, as pictured below, again by an artist's impression:

Image

This is part of a huge-scale project to project Mashariki to the outside world, estimated to cost over 150 billion (Iglesian) blynes. Besides a classical-looking city centre and shiny skyscrapers in the city borders, Larua will receive a new, state-of-the-art transportation network which will include, but not be limited to, buses, trams, metro and commuter rail. It will be also the hub of a new high-speed railway network which will use Velo technology and will link Larua with other cities also under giant plans, such as Myrlea (on the eastern Masharikan coast), Ealuda (on the western coast of the country) and some inland cities. Although plenty of people will say this will give a new look for Mashariki after decades of civil war, protests have erupted amongst Masharikan communities across Esquarium because of the massive-scale luxury projects for the country.

Additionally, Mashariki is willing to redraw its borders, wishing to remove the straight-lined borders which still exist in the country and making them look like those from a developed country, based on geography rather than political decisions.

The new Mashariki is receiving mixed reactions. While there are many hopes for a new, developed Mashariki, to give it an example to Esquarium, others fear the large-scale projects for the country will do more harm than good, threatening the native populations still living there and replacing them with high-tech areas mixed with classical luxury.

Radio West Cedarbrook News:

4:00 PM, Wrycova Central Time

At a Kramden House news conference today, President Feld and West Cedarbrook Central Bank Board Chairman Dr. Arthur Levine announced the nomination of Port Yehoshua Director of Accounting Marc Yastremsky to the board of the Central Bank. Mr. Yastremsky will replace board member Susan Weiss at the end of her term in September, pending Senate approval. He has served as the Accounting Director in Port Yehoshua since 1999, and held the post of President of the National Association of Government Accountants in 2003 and 2004. President Feld praised his service in the Port Yehoshua Municipal Government, and Dr. Levine added that "Mr. Yastremsky will add insight into municipal and state finance to the composition of the board. We look forward to working with him to continue providing stable growth, minimizing inflation, and for guidance on the impact of our policies on our states and cities." It is expected that Mr. Yastremsky's service under both Libertarian and Conservative municipal governments will ease the Senate approval process.

Antarctic Storm Jacob has tracked now to 1860 miles East Northeast of Ironton. The Naval Meterological Station at Ironton has downgraded the storm to Class 3. Navigation in the far South Central Ocean is expected to resume by next Tuesday as Jacob continues to lose power and drift further north.

In Hockey last night, the Steinhouse Tigers edged the Steinhouse Cavaliers 3-2. The Charleroi Kings defeated Wrycova North Bears 1-0 at the Bearhouse in Wrycova. Mayor Kaplan attended the Bears game, once again being pelted with soap. In other scores, Ironton topped Port Charles 4-0, Port Yehoshua South over Tsatnz 1-nothing, and Edwardsville topped Lawrenceville 2-1.

A Kildare and Eastern derailment Southeast of Steinhouse this morning caused evacuation of the town of LaVerne, spilling several tank cars of Potassium Iodide solution in the industrial flats north of the town. The railroad has dispatched crews to clean up the spillage, and residents are expected to be able to return to their homes tomorrow evening. Most residents have been evacuated to the nearby National Guard armory. Donations for residents are being accepted by the Magen David Adom.

And Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Greenblat of Port Charles welcomed in five healthy quintuplets today at the Port Charles Central Medical Center birthing unit. The proud parents of three boys and two girls welcomed them into their family of three. This was the first quintuple birth recorded in Port Charles.

Amended Reform Bill Makes it to Vote

An amended form of the controversial Political Reform Act, a bill that would lead to a total reformation of Britanno's political system is due to be voted on in the coming days after it got the go ahead from Parliament's speaker.

Image

The bill would lead to a complete change within Parliament, which would be renamed the Britannon National Congress and be split into two separate houses. The lower house, titled the House of Representatives, would be made up of eight hundred and fifty districts, whilst the senate would compromise of fifty seats. Some argue that this could cause gridlock between both houses if different parties control each house.

The Conservatives and Nationals have unified in opposition to the bill, although small numbers of backbenchers from both parties have claimed that they would stand to gain from the reforms. The Prime Minister, who leads the Conservatives, called the proposals "unnecessary excessive bureaucracy that will simply take more money from the national budget that could be spent elsewhere."

Social Democratic MPs disagree however, with their party being the biggest unified backer of the bill. "These reforms are a much needed step forward for Britanno and its political system. They will get the message of the people across in a much stronger and democratic way, and so it is absolutely right that this bill not only makes it to the floor, but Parliament passes it in the name of the people.

The vote is expected to be tight, with only the Liberals not enforcing a party wide whip on the issue. President Fletcher has refused to comment in her position, simply stating she would leave the issue "to Parliament". Public opinion polls show that a majority do not have a strong view on the issue, but that they generally lean in favour of the proposals. University professor Andrew Hopkins told BNB that the bill is one of the most significant proposals to make it to vote in the country's democratic history.

"What we are witnessing is the possible change of a system that has been around since 1937. If the Political Reform Act passes, which it may well do, then the shock waves it will send out across Britanno will be huge. To some it may seem simply as a system change, but it has a much deeper significance that will influence a variety of different factors."

Monarchy becomes Absolute, State of the Nation speech given by Queen

New Blackstone, Trackerstown, Maryginia

Today, Following a landslide result, and the question passing, The States Rights Congress, affirmed the referendum's results and ceded all authority to Queen Madison Aduana, Creating an Absolute Monarchy n the federal level. According to the referendum, The States Rights Congress, will still exist and will still be elected, However it serves as a mere advisory board to the queen, with its only power being to call a referendum, to remove the provision of the absolute Monarchy, and returning to the constitutional system, which requires a 2/3rds passing to be implemented. In addition, The Queen will appoint advisers to the states t act as an advisory board to them, and it should be noted, The Monarch is absolute on the federal level, The states will still retain their autonomy.

Today following the cession of power to the Monarch, Queen Madison Aduana gave the State of the Nation speech, Highlighting recent conflicts within the region, Calling for peace in Peiota, And while Condemning the bombings in Unolia, said about them, "When the people are oppressed, and denied their rights, the only method they have for change is violence" And that "A government that cannot represent its people loses its reason for existing" She also called for closer ties with the Monarchies of Esquarium, and her hope for regional peace.

4 Days Until Election Day: Khan, Fu and Vang all tour the country for last-ditch support
Khan personally ridicules "Fulanthropy," Fu criticizes Khan administration in dealing with milk crisis, Vang promises "moderate presidency"
Image
Fu Wen, Kaitlyn Khan and Vang Jun are all stepping up their election campaigns as the day nears
July 11, NMR 2368

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - Only four days are left until millions of Namorese take to the streets and head for the voting booths to decide whether President-General Khan should stay in office for another five years or give in to her challengers.

As Election Day (July 15) approaches, Khan, Fu Wen (ND) and Vang Jun (L) are all touring the country to stir up support.

The President-General
The President-General visited DemSoc strongholds in East Namor and Antelopia, meeting supporters and asking people to support her administration.

In Mojing, Khan personally phoned a university student requesting for endorsements. Yana Kuang, 18, has just entered Mojing University and reached the legal age to vote. Receiving a call from Khan, Kuang said she was amazed.

"I didn't know politicians would go so far to get support, and Khan's got my support," said Kuang, who plans on voting for the President-General. "The call left an impression on me."

In a speech to East Namor supporteres, Khan made first jabs at Fu Wen's chopstick philanthropy, an act which Khan coined as "Fulanthropy." She also reiterated that her administration is doing "whatever it can" to solve the ongoing milk scandal in which melamine was discovered to be an element causing contamination in milk products. The scandal, among other things, have been undermining Khan's approval rating.

"Fu has handed out chopsticks to a crowd of businessmen disguised in rags," said Khan, in a humorous fashion rarely seen in her speeches. "But chopsticks aren't money, and they aren't going to make you rich. We wanted to see philanthropy, not 'Fulanthropy.' Or else, Fu would have surrendered his entire bank account to the poor...oh wait, he's a businessman, he can't because he's rich.

"My friends in the Conservative camp shouldn't be using the [milk] scandal to criticize my administration," Khan added. "If we're going to talk about politics, we're not going to solve this. So let us please talk about how to get to the bottom of this."

More "Fulanthropy"
Fu Wen also traveled around Namor, giving speeches, shaking hands and exporting more "Fulanthropy."

At Esquarian City, Fu was seen giving one two ramon bill to anyone he sees doing something "commendable by the community." He has called this "rewarding the doing of good," but opponents are saying Fu is "bribing his way to office." Fu came up to a mother holding an infant and gave her a pacifier that read "FU WEN NMR 2368."

He was also seen hanging out with street-roaming teenagers and sharing jokes.

"What do you call a sock that is worn out and needs a wash in the laundromat? A pair of DemSocs," he reportedly told a foreign exchange student in English.

"We need change," Fu told supporters later that day," and now. People think that since we've 'conservative' we oppose change. That is not true---we support change, but in the right direction. Our party and myself support change that gets us somewhere. Khan supported the wrong change."

Fu went on to accuse Khan of "sticking with the stifling, old bureaucratic system," and that "only a new leadership can eradicate the lethargy the Progressives started out to invent."

"I totally agree [with Fu]," one bystander remarked. "Five years under Khan was five years wasted."

Vang: Going "Moderate"
Between Khan and Fu's re-election and election campaigns (respectively), Liberationist candidate Vang Jun is also increasing public presence. The Governor of Txotai, often called the "stability sage" because of his abilities to maintain stability in the autonomous republic, is advocating for a "moderate presidency" he promises to deliver if elected.

"Let's be honest with ourselves," Vang told a crowd of supporters in Nozama City. "The DemSocs don't know what's best for you. The NewDems don't know what's best for you. We know what's best for you, because we're neither of the two."

Accusing both Khan and Fu of "faults," Vang said that the DemSocs have "done a rather nasty job representing the Progressive camp," while, on the other hand, saying that the Conservative camp "is going against the principles of democracy and determination."

"Laissez-faire is not our path, it's the path of other countries. As a large country, we can't benefit from an entirely free market economy. That will be a disaster," said Vang, who says he is supportive of Namor's current social democratic, ordoliberal economic system. "As a Liberationist, I know what others with common sense know---between two extremes we take the moderate path."

Publicity Campaigns Hit the Road
Across the nation, posters are being posted on walls, commercials are being run on local television stations, and text ads were sent to people's phones, urging them to vote for the "right person."

Re-election and election campaigns hit hard at each other. Khan's re-election campaign organizers have even approved of the airing of commercials which label Fu as an "oligarch," "businessman-who-doesn't-care," "fake carer," "Matteryorkist" and "The Person Who Wants to Go Azurite and Not Want You To Go To School."

Pro-Khan commercials even contained fake newscasts made in a world where Fu was elected office and became President-General.

"Attention, President-General Fu has announced that effective immediately, all public schools and hospitals will be closed. Kids are to look after themselves, or seek a private school which teaches people how to consume chopsticks," said the mock newscaster, before the screen changed. "This might happen if Fu becomes President-General. Surely you don't want your children to be stripped of basic human rights."

Fu's campaign commercials are more, ironically, serious, detailing what the New Democrats see as "abuse of power" and "incompetence" in the five years Khan has been President-General. So-called failures in Khan's foreign policy were especially highlighted.

"Simeon Brozhav [current leader of the Ocidenian regime] is laughing now because Khan vowed to have him dead, but he's still there," read an ad. "Such is the consequence of having a President-General that doesn't stick to her word."

The Liberationists centered most of its publicity campaign around the party's "genuinely democratic" track record in its years in office for over a straight six decades (NMR 2290-NMR 2353).

"These were the days when the people mattered. Now, Vang Jun wants to bring these days back," one commercial said.

No way. Khan might have had her faults, but she's preferable over a moneybags businessman who probably has no idea how to rule a country. 377 298

@Chang Pongju "Moneybags businessman?" Are you a communist or what? What's wrong with businessmen participating in the election? Plus, Fu has a successful background and he helps others. He even gave CHOPSTICKS to the POOR! Does Khan do that? Obviously not, because the crippled system of her's doesn't allow her to do that. You're just assuming that he, as a businessman, doesn't know how to rule a country, when MANY countries around the world have leaders who were or are businesspeople, and are successful. 482 272

NATIONAL SECURITY FORCES ATTACK ALLIANCE FOR SOVEREIGNTY IN QIANRONG FACILITY IN XIANGMEN, SEIZE SEVERAL ASQ MEMBERS AND ARMS FROM LIBERATIONIST NAMOR
by DENG WU-HAN - JULY 11 2014
XIANGMEN, QIANRONG - The Defense-Intelligence Ministry announced today that it had destroyed a ASQ stronghold, calling it "a massive success for the NSF and the safety and security of Qianrong". The stronghold in question belonged to the Revolutionary Worker's Party of Minjian, one of the three terror groups that forms the Alliance for Sovereignty in Qianrong, and was located in the suburb of Jianzhou. In addition, the NSF captured several members of the group and large amounts of arms and explosives of Liberationist Namorese make.

"The fine work of the men and women of the the Ministry of Defense and Intelligence allowed us to quickly find this hideout, and destroy the threat it posed," said Acting Defense-Intelligence Minister Guo Tse-Zu. "Chances were it was a hideout like this in Danh Dap that allowed the TLA to stockpile the weapons and explosives it used in the attack on the Central Train Station and the abduction of Chancellor Song Li-Chao. This means that we may have saved countless lives in Xiangmen. It's not yet clear what the nature of any attack would be, but we will find this out." Guo said that there had been no NSF casualties, but said that 12 ASQ operatives had been killed, and that 18 more had been captured. "The captured men will be questioned so that we may get a better idea of the tactics used by the ASQ to inflict death and terror. Who knows what information we might uncover about upcoming plans, other facilities, the organization of the ASQ and WRPM, and how Operation All In works in Qianrong. Once that is over, these people will be tried and punished for their treason to the fullest ability of the law." In addition, Guo stated, Qianrongese forces captured large amounts of weaponry produced by the Liberationist Namorese, further proving the existence of Operation All In. Guo also said that this is likely only the first in a string of raids and attacks meant to cripple the ASQ before it can enact further terror attacks.

Acting Chancellor Hsieh Jiang-De hailed the action as a "massive step for unity, security, and prosperity in Qianrong," saying that "we have begun a path towards crushing these terrorists and preventing Qianrongese citizens from having to face the blood and chaos they would bring upon us." He also declared that the raid was the "first action in a Second Domestic Terror War." (The Domestic Terror War- or now the First Domestic Terror War- occurred from 1956 to 1975, and was led by the three groups that now form the ASQ. The war was incredibly bloody and led to thousands of deaths on both sides.) "Over the past months, we have seen the threats to our internal stability, funded by external enemies, rise again. It has become ever clearer that we must unite and fight to ensure that our liberty, safety, and prosperity can be preserved. I urge all Qianrongese people to join in this fight, however you can- for in this war, we will all play a role. The vile men who stand poised to destroy us do not distinguish between man, woman, and child. We are all soldiers. We must all work towards a future in which stability is restored and these evil forces are defeated." The speech was met with applause from across the nation by Minjianese, Tuhaoese, and Mahusaynese alike.

"Today, I hope to tell the forces of darkness that we will not fall to them," Hsieh remarked. "I want to tell them that the good people of the Free Democratic Republic will stand strong against their fearmongering. I want to tell the world that we will not roll over and cower before our neighbors who would seek us destroyed. I want to let future generations of Qianrongese look back and say, 'here, the powerful and the powerless alike joined to bring about an era of unity and peace and fraternity'. I want to ensure the bright futures of this nation's people; but for that, I will need the people's help. The average person is the backbone of this nation- it is he who makes our goods, it is he who fights for freedom and security, it is he who is the greatest man in this nation. Together, we create an insurmountable force that the ASQ and its allies in terror cannot hope to defeat. Together, my fellow citizens, we can know nothing but triumph. So let us now stand as one and crush the cruelty and chaos of terrorism and division, and let us walk upon the high ground of brotherhood and righteousness," he urged. "We now begin the Second Terror War. This fight will not be easy, but this has not deterred us before. Let us stand to any challenge that may head our way."

Message from Provisional Leader Ryan Cha to mainland authorities
Image
Ryan Cha delivers a message to mainland authorities and compatriots
URGENT

NOVI NAMOR, PEITOA - Provisional leader of the Republic of Namor, General Ryan Cha, gave a message to the authorities in mainland Namor today. The message goes as follows:
People of mainland Namor, and members of the mainland Namorese authorities. My name is General Ryan Cha, provisional leader of the Republic of Namor, and on behalf of the government I want to wish peace upon you all.

I do not want to spend this whole message having to reiterate the Republic of Namor's sincere condemnation of the mainland authorities' reckless aggression against the inhabitants of the Peitoan archipelago. Instead, I want to tell mainland authorities and our compatriots on the mainland that we acknowledge that this conflict is one without base, and one that does not deserve to go on any further. The casualties inflicted upon both sides, our side and yours', have been, for the most part, unnecessary, and inflicted over the most trivial of reasons. In the past days, attacks from the mainland have decreased, but we fear that they might not stop so soon, until a solution is reached.

I do not appeal to mainland authorities as the leader of a nation, but as a person who understands what is going on. The Republic of Namor has evaluated the situation and declares today that it does not want to continue fighting any longer. It will call for an end to the conflict if the opposing sides call for it, too, and they have.

The Securitate has completed its examination of all persons on board the captured mainland Changlang ferry. While we still suspect that some on board have some relationship with mainland authorities, we acknowledge that there are also innocent civilians on board that have not been spared from the administrative punishment process. We also acknowledge that our detaining of the ferry has caused much unneeded conflict. Therefore, at my order, all charges imposed upon all persons on the ferry shall be cleared effective zero hours tomorrow, and we will review clearance that will be given to the ferry to return to where it came from. Effective said date, negotiations on when the ferry will be handed over to mainland authorities shall also begin. We hope, and expect, that the above announcement will be met with enthusiasm from mainland compatriots, and those working for the mainland authorities.

In turn, we hope that the return of the captured ferry to mainland authorities will warrant a decrease in international economic pressure against the Republic of Namor. The people of Peitoa have not only been negatively impacted by WETO airstrikes, but above all, they have been stripped of the right to commerce thanks to the sanctions imposed by other countries. We urge the leaders of the world to think from a humanitarian standpoint and soften the burden these sanctions have on the people of Peitoa, and our government. The Great Lingtonamora Jung Fa has died; let him rest in peace. The patriotic people of the RON want to spend this time honoring his achievements and mourn their loss, and without interruption and without the thought of hardships in their minds.

The Republic of Namor will also, in the spirit of supporting peace in the East Namor Sea, cease all attacks or planned attacks against targets on the mainland and other areas. These attacks have been the cause---and effect---of needless bickering.

In regards to non-mainland troops captured by our government, they are still under administrative detention, and will be until they receive clearance to be handed back to the lands they've come from.

Thank you, and I wish you peace and a good day.

URGENT NEWS | Ryan Cha says Peitoa will agree to negotiate Changlang's release
July 12, NMR 2368

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - Peitoa's "provisional leader," Ryan Cha, said this morning that Peitoa will drop all charges of espionage against "all persons" on the detained ferry Changlang effective tomorrow, and starting tomorrow the regime will voluntarily join meetings set up with Namo to negotiate the release of the crew and passengers on board the ferry.
Image
Ryan Cha, "provisional leader" of Peitoa, shown here in a military
parade before the crisis began

In a statement titled "Message from Provisional Leader Ryan Cha to mainland authorities," Cha deviated from the rhetoric of his predecessor, the late leader Jung Fa, by acknowledging that there are "some" on board the Changlang that weren't and aren't alleged spies for the Namorese government. Calling the conflict between Peitoa and mainland Namor "unneeded," Cha said that the Peitoan regime will take all steps required to broker a peace deal, including the release of the Changlang in turn for softened economic pressure against Peitoa.

Peitoa will also cease missile attacks against mainland Namor, said Cha, which he himself called "the cause---and effect---of needless bickering." In the past weeks, around thirty missiles were fired from Peitoa at mainland Namor. Most of them were intercepted before they reached their targets, and only three missiles eventually made their way into mainland Namor and made contact with ground, causing a moderate level of property damage in towns throughout Southern Namor. The Defense Ministry of Namor said Namo was fortunately not hit by Peitoan missiles, although it added that it believes the city was the target of some of the missiles launched.

"The Great Lingtonamora Jung Fa has died; let him rest in peace," said Cha. "The patriotic people of the RON want to spend this time honoring his achievements and mourn their loss, and without interruption and without the thought of hardships in their minds."

Although the message was directed against "mainland authorities," Cha also hinted that despite his willingness to release the Changlang at any given date, the process will be complicated. Besides announcing that the ferry is free to go starting tomorrow, he didn't make it clear when exactly Peitoan authorities will give clearance for the ferry to leave Peitoan-controlled waters.

He also referred to "non-mainland troops captured by our government," saying that they are "still under administrative detention." Many believe he is referring to the captured crew of the ANS Evergreen, an Aininian ship that was attacked and sunk by the Peitoan authority. The attack has lured Ainin into the crisis.

Many in mainland Namor are seeing as a sign of a sooner return of the Changlang home. Entire families are hopeful, while others remain skeptic.

“I haven’t seen my son for years,” said one mother of a young passenger on board the Changlang. “They said they’re going to return the passengers. Well, they better.”

The Defense Ministry ecstatically welcomed the news.

“[This] shows a significant shift in the policy of the new leadership in Peitoa,” said Defense Minister Daiki Jun. “We have hoped that the new leadership will be moderate, and it appears to be moderate. But back to the gist of what we have to say, the Executive House is now working to see whether the Peitoan intentions are genuine. But still, this is a great development that has lightened the hearts of all of us here.”

Skirmish in Qianrong Leaves Three Dead; ASQ Routed by New Zepuhan Jaeger Kommandos

Image

July 12th, 2014

Sinro City, New Zepuha - Yesterday evening the Jaeger Kommandos stationed in Qianrong to fight terrorism began movements against the ASQ. While leaving Saorao Province, a platoon of kommandos was attacked in the jungle by ASQ fighters. This firefight erupted in Tuhao province whilst in transit. The kommandos were driven from the main road as small arms fire erupted around them from the jungle foliage. Whilst the ASQ fighters had used the element of surprised MSgt. Derrik Pretel managed to rally his men to respond with vehicle mounted fire. They used the 20mm auto-cannon mounted atop the lead Striker APC to suppress the ASQ.

During this firefight several men were hit and injured. After a brief 15 minute firefight the ASQ were routed and forced to turn back into the jungle. Two kommandos were wounded and three killed, but the rest were able to safely arrive in the Co Lap province. Lt. Jurgen Jungbauer, Cpl. Patrik Raion, and Pvt. Mikeal Schumaucher perished during the firefight. this brings the loss of life to a whopping three in Qianrong.

PM Bergmann praised the resolve and strength of the kommandos and their brave actions against terrorists in a foreign land. The firefight is one of many upcoming battles expected while attempting to root out and destroy terrorism. The central government considers complaints against the deployment of New Zepuhan troops to be nothing more than liberal propaganda. Protests in the capital city were put down by the Sinro City Police, these protests were due to the deaths of the three kommandos. Liberal propagandists organized the protest to object to the deployment of troops to foreign lands, the organizers are under investigation by the Homeland Security Agency.

Foreign Affairs Minister Tran Minh Triet speaking to the press

40 DAYS

Li-Chao was abducted
FREE NAMOR TO RETURN CHANGLANG TO LIBERATIONISTS; MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS REQUESTS THAT LIBERATIONISTS RETURN TRANG VAI
by ZHENG LI-ZHI - JULY 13 2014
YUCHENG, QIANRONG - Ryan Cha, provisional leader of the Republic of Free Namor, announced yesterday that the Free Namorese government will drop all charges placed against the persons taken by the Free Namorese Coast Guard following the seizure of the ferry Changlang, saying that the ship and its passengers would be returned to Liberationist Namor. The move, greeted warmly but suspiciously by the Liberationist authorities, has triggered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to request that Liberationist Namor return the Trang Vai.

The Changlang, a ferry launched from Liberationist Namor, was seized by the Free Namorese on suspicions that the vessel, ostensibly civilian, was in fact being used to transport Liberationist intelligence agents to Free Namor. The seizure of the vessel led to a series of Liberationist missile attacks against civilian targets in Free Namor and a military assault on the Ilhas Belas, as well as naval action from Ainin. An attempt made by the Liberationists to reclaim the captured agents failed drastically. The Trang Vai, a Qianrongese-flagged and New Zepuhan-manned cargo vessel, was assaulted by Namorese naval forces while en route from Sinro City to Novi Namor via Xiangmen. The vessel was containing weapons that would have gone to use defending the Free Namorese from mainlander aggression. The Qianrongese and Zepuhan governments, which have not enacted any sanctions on Free Namor, said that the Liberationist assault on the vessel and its capture are illegal and an act of piracy. The Liberationist regime never responded to the claim.

The announcement made by Ryan Cha came as a surprise to many. The deceased Lingatonamora, Jung Fa, had taken a hardline stance in opposition to the cruel deeds of the mainlander Greens, which resulted in heavy sanctions. By contrast, Ryan Cha has taken a far more open and prudent stance, denouncing the missile wars between Free Namor and Liberationist Namor as "the cause and effect of needless bickering," and stating that charges would be dropped against the Liberationist's agents. It is hoped that these conciliatory moves will end further mainlander aggression. However, Liberationist reaction has been mixed. Liberationist Defense Minister Daiki Jun said that, while the announcement was "a great development," Liberationist Namor doubts that they are genuine in their words.

In response, Foreign Affairs Minister Tran Minh Triet announced that the Liberationists can prove that they genuinely want goodwill and reconciliation by releasing the Trang Vai and its crew. "As the Free Namorese push towards returning to peace in the East Namor Sea, the mainlander authorities have made no such moves. If they are truly committed to restoring calm in this part of Esquarium, then the Liberationist authorities should return the Trang Vai as they are having the Changlang returned to them, among other things. It is thusly that I, on behalf of the government and people of Qianrong, request that the Trang Vai be returned to the Free Democratic Republic of Qianrong, and that its crew be returned to their homeland of New Zepuha." Tran intentionally did not demand that the cargo be returned, which many analysts believe was done as a symbol of Qianrong's commitment to peace in the East Namor Sea, seeing that the weapons would have gone to further the war between the Khan clique and the Free Namorese government. He also did not explicitly mention Operation All In, again possibly to avoid aggravating tensions in a period of reconciliation.

Only time will tell if the Liberationist Namorese will return the Trang Vai and end their destabilizing operations, or if their words of peace and cooperation are empty.

Don't expect much if anything from the Liberationist bastards. You'll be greatly disappointed.

How can the Khan clique claim the moral high ground when it has those blockades and missile attacks to pin to its name, as well as the Green Fever and All In and the Trang Vai? Why do foreign people trust them?

@Kao Si-Huang, because lots of people are either just as bad or total idiots.

Anarchy and the Arctican Unity Plan: What is Going on Now?
Version: International
Date: July 14, 2014

Image
Map of divided Arctica. Golden boxes indicate capitals while grey ones
indicate other cities. Green is True Arctica (us), blue is Revivalists United,
brown is Arctican Socialist Provinces, dark red is Servicemen of Aquilonis.
It is almost one month since the Arctican Unity Plan had been initiated, and slow progress and disaster are the only noted outcomes of the scheme as yet. The True Arcticans are struggling to defend against enemy states occupying other portions of Arctica, let alone producing success from the scheme.

The entire scheme is mostly concentrated in revitalizing the True Arctican Military and preventing the riotous period of time and division that is the Anarchy from proceeding further. Negotiations are sometimes included in the progress and, according to the True Arctican Government, should be able to establish at least some temporary peace if successful. In all cases, the Arctican Unity Plan is purposed to attempt unification of divided Arcticans under a single state, as they were before the Anarchy. It is clear at this point that unification of all Arcticans would not only be difficult, it could take years to succeed. There is also a chance that the Anarchy would never be concluded, casting an eerie doom for all Arcticans should the scheme fail.

So what caused all of this Anarchy? What drove the Arcticans to divide and fight each other? It is best if one takes a look into what were known as the Arctica Conflicts.

Arctica Conflicts
The Arctica Conflicts and the pre-Anarchy Arctican Government (or Old Government) can be said as the direct causes of the costly Anarchy. Before the turmoils of today, the Old Government (led by democratically-elected presidents, the last being Zachary Thompson) was often seen as cruel because it, seemingly without opposition, supported rampant capitalism, interrogation via torture, compulsory military services at a young age, et cetera. The Old Government had passed policies that many people saw as inhumane and abusive; one of the policies included extension of powers for the executive branch (e.g. bill can be immediately signed after passage) and law enforcement (e.g. searching without warrant if needed). However, the culmination of the Old Policies came with the passage of the People-to-Biofuel Procedures Act, which calls for the mandatory use of [rudimentary] biomass conversion technologies to (!Warning - Questionable Part!) turn any needy and criminals (almost always against their will) into biofuel.

The act caused multiple nations from varieties of corners of the world to frown upon the Old Government. Among the condemning nations was a former ally of the Old Government, both known and hated (save for True Arctica) in the states of Arctica as Pavonistade. Its President, Mattheu Azurite, attempted to talk Old President Zachary President out of the People-to-Biofuel Procedures Act, but with mounting pressure on the Old Government and with Thompson's secret hatred against Pavonistade, he announced a declaration of warfare between Old Arctica and Pavonistade. Uncovered documents revealed that Thompson ordered the mobilization of Old Arctican armed forces for an invasion of their former ally. The talking part backfired for Azurite, but quickly an international coalition was formed between Pavonistade and the others that condemned the People-to-Biofuel Procedures Act. Within a short span of time, the planned invasion of Pavonistade transmuted into a hopeless defense for Arctica as an international coalition crushed the Old Arctican armed forces.

Fall of United Arctica
Image
Several towns have been abandoned after fighting between
Old Arctican armed forces and an international coalition. Even
more were left behind when the Anarchy began.
President Zachary was forced to surrender to the coalition, apologize for the Old Government's cruel acts, and resign as president. With the resignation, outrage sprung across civilian populations of Arctican cities. These people put tremendous trust into their Old Government and armed forces, believing both of them could protect Arctica from any invasions and ensure their policies would stand. As the state and armed forces crumbled to the coalition's demands, Arctica was soon plunged into a rebellion against the Old Government. Soon after the rebellion started, a myriad of conflicts between the people appeared because they had contradicting ideals and plans on how the post-Conflicts government should operate and what its values and ideals should be. The conflicts, which became violent and armed like the rebellion, devolved into the Anarchy seen towards today as Arctica is officially dissolved into multiple states.

The first of these states to emerge is the Revivalists United, which aims to restore the policies and structures of the Old Government. By successfully doing it, the Revivalists United would be violating the demands and requirements of the international coalition set out just over a year ago. Soon there came the Arctican Socialist Provinces, which sought to formally promote socialist, communist, and leftist policies, and the Servicemen of Aquilonis, a state consisting of conservative members who supported substantial gender inequality (man over woman/others. Finally, True Arctica should not be ignored. It is technically led by the same government prior to the Arctica Conflicts, but it has more centrist and liberal values.

To a foreigner, it can be stunning that a country of united people can suddenly collapse into several countries of varying opinions. To an Arctican, however, it is not so stunning. There exists different political beliefs and viewpoints prior to the 21st century, and this drives increasing division throughout the modern era. The division was not very significant since people were typically united in the past, but it is only from 2013 and beyond that Arctica was undeniably split apart. It is also important to note that the opinions of Arcticans can shift fairly speedily.

The Arctican Unity Plan
After the states of Arctica rose and warred against each other, the Pavonistadian Government had announced a year ago that it will be planning on intervening in the Anarchy to restore national order. It was President Azurite that personally declared that intention to establish a single state covering all of Arctica.

If the plan is successful, it will make sure, as mostly mentioned in the beginning of the article, that the supported state will have a strong military to fend off attacks, a strong civilian/military/economic infrastructure, an efficient system to quickly address damages and other issues, revamped educational/healthcare/sustenance distribution systems, and other improvements. The state will be backed up extensively as it is hoped to defeat the other standing opponents in hopes of a reunited Arctica. That state would not necessarily turn to invasions and military actions to unite the fallen land; the state would also turn to any possible negotiations to include negotiating opposites into its side and lead to any possible positive outcomes from the [rare] negotiations. The state being supported in the Arctican Unity Plan is, as clear as sunshine, True Arctica.

Despite the envision that True Arctica and Pavonistade (the only members of the scheme as of now) have of the ultimate outcome, the plan is not going very smoothly and some people are even claiming it is backfiring. Likely causes for the early failures of the Arctican Unity Plan include the inability to quickly repair and set up infrastructure (the war is hampering such progresses), the lack of staff for education/healthcare/etc., poorly-maintained roads and routes, and enemy attacks on both True Arcticans and Pavonistadians. The Pavonistadian Government warned that the deployment of its units to Arctica may be necessary to better achieve a United Arctica.

The future is quite bleak for many people, nationals or foreigners. It is without a doubt that the war will drag on for some time, but an even bigger issue continues to question of the Arctican Unity Plan can really put an end to the Anarchy and all of the civil wars between Arcticans.

@PeaceManPeace
Are you kidding me!? What do you mean by "FAILING" scheme? The Arctican Unity Plan is our only hope of getting what remains of fallen Arctica as one single geopolitical entity, a state. The plan will eventually keep all Arcticans from annihilating each other like matter and antimatter does to each other, even if it goes live with a slow and discouraging start. If we don't have the Pavonistadians helping our butts up, who else in the world would help us get back to our feet and leave behind the horrors of the Old Government? I doubt many other than Pavonistade and some others would come to the rescue. We cannot let the Arctican Unity Plan fail, because if it does, our society as we know it will cease to exist and I bet the survivors will become nomadic savages for God knows how long!

If only the Old Government lifted its cruel acts... if only the Arcticans demanded a better government... I don't know how many "if onlys" I could come up with. We could have avoided all this terrible Anarchy thing, but we were blinded and forced to head straight to it. I hoped this would have never happened...

By the mother of President Rodriguez... that spam is offensive beyond words! When will the ANN moderators actually do something and remove those Toloupumian Bar botspams? They've arrested, convicted, and jailed the hell out of those spammers in Pavonistade, and here we can't fork out a few aurumpupas to fight off these still-active botspammers...

Well... I could only hope the situation in all of Arctica gets better. 365+ days and we're still fighting each other.

Fu wins election with significant majority
E68 marks first time Conservative camp takes control of Executive House, bitter Khan concedes to victorious NewDem philanthropist
July 15, NMR 2368

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - The results of the election for the 18th-term President-General of Namor are out, and it is now verified that New Democratic candidate and challenger Fu Wen has won the election, defeating runner-up incumbent Kaitlyn Khan and the Liberationist challenger Vang Jun. Fu's victory in the NMR 2368 election came as a moment in history for many, as 15 years after Alicia Wolf became the first female President-General, this time a party other than the Liberationists or DemSocs is to control the long Progressive-dominated Executive House.
Fu Wen: 63.2%
(424,482,376)

Kaitlyn Khan: 25.0%
(167,912,332)

Vang Jun: 10.7%
(71,866,478)

Others: 0.1%

Total: 670,977,679

on the '68 election.

Turnout was reported to be 73.9%, a 2.9% increase from last election in NMR 2363.

Fu's campaign headquarters in Hoy Phong was filled with pandemonium and excitement when the news broke out. Fu appeared minutes later with his victory speech, which some believed was improvised or done at the last minute.

"I knew that this moment will come, citizens," said Fu. "This is why, I can tell you honestly, that I did not prepare a concession speech. Had I lost...oh my, well, the good thing is that I didn't."

"A new moment in Namorese history is about to begin, but I'm not doing this alone," said Fu. "This is a People's Republic, not Fu Wen's Republic," a statement which evoked laughter. "On a more serious note, though, I'll need all the help that I can get. The New Democrats, as I've said before, is not a conservative party. We are a party that seeks rightful change, change that would get us where we have to be, not where we can't afford to be. Let us work together, let us suffer pain together, let us eat together so we can see the change we've been hoping for, so we can see competence, efficiency and transparency working in all aspects of our lives."

election with 63.2% of all votes

On a less important note, Fu announced that on inauguration day, he will officially step down as CEO of Xhinan Pangchu Chopsticks Company, the largest producer and distributor of chopsticks in Esquarium.

"I can't be a President-General and the leader of a corporation at the same time," Fu said. "Why? Because I can't manage a country and a company at the same time. I can't do it, and even if I do it wouldn't look good."

Fu's election victory was predicted by some polls which have been running for the past few months, which suggest that the Progressive camp (which Khan is part of) is losing support, giving the Conservatives---more specifically the New Democrats---a chance to take control of the Executive House.

The election results for Khan are considered by some as to be the "worst setback" the DemSocs suffered in years, while the Liberationists found themselves equally flabbergasted.

To many of Fu Wen's supporters, the election has a very significant and memorable meaning. It will be the first time they will have a fellow member serve as the nation's President-General.

"I am never going to forget this moment," said one supporter who was there at Fu Wen's victory speech. "This is not a victory for the New Democrats, or for Fu, but for the entire country."

The election results for Khan are considered by some as to be the "worst setback" the DemSocs suffered in years, while the Liberationists found themselves equally flabbergasted. A bitter-looking Khan, accompanied by Vice President Namsa Singho, delivered the concession speech.

"I congratulate Fu Wen for his hard-fought campaign and victory in this election," said a melancholic-looking Khan. "As a politician, I recognize that the Namorese people cast their votes and made their choice, and as a fair politician I will not fight with that. I've been President-General for the past five years, and I must say that I enjoyed every second of it. Most importantly, I feel fortunate to be one of the very few people, out of 900 million people, to be given the chance to lead this country. I love the people, and despite this setback I still do. Which is why I tell the country to follow our successor, my successor, as he leads this country forward. Time has to go on, and the clocks of history cannot be reversed."

Liberationist Vang Jun's concession speech was regarded as more sharp and critical than Khan's.

"To be honest, seeing voters choose a leader of a party that has no interest in the populace whatsoever is disappointing," Vang said, "but this is a democracy, and choices have to be respected as absurd they may be."

Fu Wen will be officially inaugurated on July 17.

(Opinion) NPC elections show Communist Party has lost its dominance

Numerous Contributors - Moscow
Tuesday, July 15
With the National People's Congress elections now over, Sakatia now has the upcoming Presidential elections next week. The Congressional elections showed that the Communist Party of Sakatia, especially after the party split into two separate parties - the Communist Party of Sakatia and Party of Sakatian Communists - the Presidential elections are not in favor of the party that has ruled Sakatia for over half a century. The Communist Party is in disarray and the polls reflect that, with the CPS originally having 234 out 400 seats in the Senate to 136 out of 400 seats. The opposing party's have taken the upper hand because of the CPS's internal struggle, with the Progressive Action Party taking the clear majority. However the Presidential candidates are still campaigning and with the different issues ongoing in Sakatia, things can get a bit confusing, so we have a guide.

Let's review the candidates

Image

Progressive Action Party
Vladimir Salkov
Salkov is the leader of the Progressive Action Party, founded in 2006, which has a right-wing viewpoint, and is highly supportive of Sakatian nationalism. The party is a major supporter of a Free Trade Agreement with Luziyca, and wishes for further integration of Sakatia into the regional economy. Salkov is widely popular in the major urban centers of Moscow and Omsk. He said he will change the common viewpoint that Sakatia is communist. He has also stated that he will increase Sakatia's competitiveness in the regional economy. Salkov also owns the Omsk HC, the largest hockey team in Sakatia.

Image

Communist Party of Sakatia
Yuri Perfilyev
Perfilyev is the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Sakatia, which has ruled Sakatia since 1955. He was previously Party Secretary for Omsk when the recent coup happened in Sakatia. He was opposed to the coup and led the resistance movement within the party. He has said he will continue the economic and social policies of the Subetrov administration, however focus more attention to stopping a growing rich-poor divide in Sakatia. His sudden appointment to General Secretary caused more than half of the Communist Party to split away and form the Party of Sakatian Communists.

Image

National Liberation Front
Oleg Zharkov
Zharkov is part of the extreme far-right in Sakatia, and represents the National Liberation Front. His party is completely opposed to the FTA with Luziyca, and he publicly claimed he will "send every single nuke, every tank, and every soldier to destroy them (Luziyca)". He says he will restore Sakatia to its former glory and prevent "outside influence" from "them". His views have previously caused him to be arrested by the SGB in 1992 for "inciting provocative thoughts" and "inciting disapproval against a government official" (Those laws don't exist anymore). The National Liberation Front was outlawed in 2002 for promoting "terrorism".

Image

Party of Sakatian Communists
Gleb Belomestnykh
Belomestnykh led the split of CPS, leading half of his followers into forming a new Communist Party, the Party of Sakatian Communists. They are in support of a return to Communism and ending the market reforms. They also say they will release Gao Guiying who is facing treason for the coup in June. Belomestnykh says he will lead Sakatia to its ultimate goal, communism. He was previously Minister of State Thought from 1991 to 1995, when the Ministry was abolished. He served as Party head for Solmblabursk until 2007.

Image

Social-Democracy Party
Natasha Sinovech
Sinovech previously ran for President in 2011, however was defeated in a widely contested election. She wants to continue social programs from previous Presidents, however wants to ensure that free-enterprise can grow within the country. The SDP was the second largest political party in Sakatia until 2012 when they were surpassed in size by Progressive Action Party.

First rightist government to take power in Namor since 1950

Image
New President-General, Fu Wen takes power

NAMO, NAMOR - With 63.2% of the popular vote, the New Democratic Party, the country's main rightist party has taken power, making the NDP the first rightist government in Namor since the Republicans fled to Peitoa in 1950. The new President-General is Fu Wen, succeeding Kaitlyn Khan, who took a distant second with 25%.

Turnout for the elections was around 74%, according to PTH. The Liberationists only took nearly 11% with Vang Jun, making it third place, and the remainder went to other candidates.

In Hoy Phong, Fu declared that "I knew that this moment will come, citizens. This is why, I can tell you honestly, that I did not prepare a concession speech. Had I lost...oh my, well, the good thing is that I didn't."

"A new moment in Namorese history is about to begin, but I'm not doing this alone," he said. "This is a People's Republic, not Fu Wen's Republic. On a more serious note, though, I'll need all the help that I can get.

"I can't be a President-General and the leader of a corporation at the same time," Fu said when he announced his intention to resign as CEO of the Xhinan Pangchu Chopsticks Company. "Why? Because I can't manage a country and a company at the same time. I can't do it, and even if I do it wouldn't look good."

However, in the capital, second place and outgoing President-General Kaitlyn Khan said in a melancholic tone, "I congratulate Fu Wen for his hard-fought campaign and victory in this election. As a politician, I recognize that the Namorese people cast their votes and made their choice, and as a fair politician I will not fight with that.

Liberationist Vang Jun's concession speech was regarded as more sharp and seemed to be in total opposition of liberty. "To be honest, seeing voters choose a leader of a party that has no interest in the populace whatsoever is disappointing," Vang said, "but this is a democracy, and choices have to be respected as absurd they may be."

The first official statement came from the Republic of Nantai where President Kung Alicia has stated from her office in Kenyen, "I have sincere hopes that his excellency, Fu Wen and his excellency, Breuvi Shjoraski come to an agreement regarding the Republic of Nantai, so that we can harness our potential to become a major hub of world trade instead of only being known for the territorial dispute, but without having to adopt the socialist policies."

Shjoraski was the next, saying from the Presidential Palace in Bethlehem, "I wish Fu Wen the best of luck in administering the country and improving its standard of living. I have full confidence that with Fu Wen in charge, we can come to an agreement over our existing political issues, especially over the Nantai region, so that both of us can emerge stronger in the long run."
He then went on to say that "If he wants the Treaty of Tatra to be repealed, and for a new treaty to be negotiated that recognizes the current borders, in exchange for promoting cross-cultural ties and increasing trade between our two nations without jeopardizing Namor, I will do so. If he prefers the way things are, I am content with that."

Some are skeptical that Fu Wen would improve ties with Luziyca. Former President William Bush personally said that "Fu Wen may seem willing to improve ties with Bethlehem, but when we get down to the specifics, he will be the same Liberationist mouthpiece who demands territorial restitution and that we give up our right to Nantai that we obtained legitimately through the Treaty of Tatra."

However, compare to in 2000, when officials of all levels demanded an end to communism in Namor, and for the return of the Republican regime that administered Peitoa to Namo, it is a tremendous improvement. It is rocky, but many hope that relations will improve under his rulership of Namor. May he administer his country well.

QIANRONG HAS SUCCESSFULLY DETONATED A 10-KILOTON NUCLEAR WEAPON IN WATERS SOUTH OF SHENGSU PROVINCE AND THE CREATION OF A STRATEGIC WEAPONRY CORPS, NATIONAL SECURITY FORCE SAYS
by CHO KOU-NO - JULY 16 2014
YUCHENG, QIANRONG - Commandant of the National Security Force Chin Ya-Xian, in a surprise announcement, declared that the National Security Force has successfully detonated a nuclear weapon in Qianrong's national waters, and that the National Security Forces would welcome a new branch entrusted to handle such missions.

"Yesterday, the National Security Force detonated a nuclear weapon, codenamed Dafeng, in Qianrongese national waters south of Shengsu Province," Chin told the press. "The weapon was detonated in an atmospheric test over the East Namor Sea and had a blast yield of 10 kilotons." The announcement was particularly shocking because it also revealed the existence of a Qianrongese nuclear program. In fact, the news came as a shock even to many in the upper eschelons of government, who either had not known about the program or did not know how far along it was. Nonetheless, the announcement was generally met with enthusiasm among Qianrongese.

In addition, Commandant Chin also announced the creation of a new branch of the National Security Forces. "Joining the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Intelligence Agency, National Police, National Constabulary, and Home Guard is the Strategic Weaponry Corps," he said. "The Strategic Weaponry Corps shall be charged with handling Qianrong's nuclear program, as well as any future chemical or biological programs that the FDRQ may have, and Qianrong's conventional missile programs. It will also deal with experimental research."

Perhaps the biggest question for many is where Qianrong got the uranium or plutonium(it has not been specified which was used) and the technology required to produce a nuclear weapon. While Qianrong has some uranium and plutonium deposits and several high-level scientists, the project was almost certainly not entirely home-grown. Most scholars believe that the nuclear program was largely made possible by shipments of technology and weaponry from the Christian Republic of Luziyca. Last month, Luziyca's legislature passed the Protect Aininian and Namorese Trade and Shipping(or PANTS) Act, which contained a rider increasing uranium and weaponry shipments to Qianrong. It is highly likely that the equipment(if not the radioactive elements as well) were Luziycan-made; however, this has not been confirmed, as the Ministry of Defense and Intelligence has refused to divulge this information to the Ministry of Information.

"However, let it be perfectly clear that this is not a sign of belligerence from Qianrong," Chin concluded. "The Qianrongese nuclear weaponry program is only to guarantee the continued safety and security of the Free Democratic Republic and the citizenry of Qianrong. While it is true that we cannot use nuclear weapons against the ASQ for obvious reasons, it is hoped that this program will act as a deterrent to those who seek to destabilize Qianrong and interfere in her internal affairs. In short, the program, while primarily focused towards defending ourselves from foreign interference, this program will also have domestic security benefits," Chin said. "The National Security Forces guarantee that these weapons will only be used defensively, never offensively, in accordance with our preexisting policy of not firing the first shot. It is our hope that efforts to secure Qianrong's security are not erroneously taken as belligerence by our neighbors in the East Namor Sea or our allies globally. Indeed, Qianrong remains as committed to peace as it has been. The NSF has a duty to guarantee the security of Qianrong, and this program is that and nothing more."

NOVI NAMOR, PEITOA - The Republic of Namor will hold an election to elect the official President of the Republic of Namor who will lead the government, replacing the Provisional leadership which leads the RON as of now following the unfortunate departure of our leader, Jung Fa. The election is a sign of the continued tradition of democracy the RON continues to hold dear to its heart despite the loss of the Lingtonamora.

Provisional leader Ryan Cha has nominated Ma Yuanchao to be his running mate. Cha will run for President of the Republic of Namor, and asks for popular support.

"The people of the Namorese Republic will make a really fateful decision on who will lead this free country for years to come," said Cha. "and I hope they make the right decision."

The election will be held on July 20 and its results will be announced on that day.
