C indicates civil rights rating, P indicates political rights rating, number off to the right is composite score (average of C and P):
Fill out the following form to receive your rating. There are 40 questions. Please be specific if needed.
You will be rated from 1 to 10 (the lower the number, the more free the nation is).
1-3: Free country. These countries are usually democratic and citizens are guaranteed the right to freedom of speech, religion, and press. These countries do not trample on human rights.
Examples: A 1 might be Norway, 2 might be Monaco, and 3 might be Mexico.
3.5-7: Partly free country. These countries are usually hybrid regimes where certain political parties or ideologies are banned. Freedom of speech, religion, and press are a bit shaky. These countries may have minor human rights violations.
Examples: A 4 might be Turkey, 5 might be Thailand, 6 might be Russia, and 7 might be Egypt
7.5-10: Unfree country. These countries are usually dictatorships where one person or a small group of people exercise nearly complete control over politics. Freedom of speech, religion, and press are non-existent. These countries may have moderate to severe human rights violations.
Examples: An 8 might be Belarus, a 9 might be Laos, an a 10 might be North Korea.
