MILLERAINIA JOINS NYSA AFTER LEAVING HL

Senator Lucy Rice
MARINETTE FALLS-An emergency session was called today in Parliament in both the Senate and House of Commons to discuss Millerainian involvement in the crumbling Humanitarian League. Noting the heated rhetoric and increasing hostility of nations in the League, Millerainian Parliament passed leaving the Humanitarian League, which was signed by the Prime Minister in the early afternoon.

"The Humanitarian League has stopped being, well humanitarian. It's personal assaults against world leaders is appalling and unprofessional. We will not wait until Millerainia is the next victim of the ruthlessness of the political banter of the Humanitarian League. I am voting for leaving the Humanitarian League" stated Senator Lucy Rice in a speech to the Senate.

In search for a new region, Millerainia followed previous members Battlion and Kingborough to a new region, Nysa, which was approved by Parliament and Prime Minister Grayson to join late last night.

Millerainians woke up, feeling no different, but the flag of HL were all removed and the flag of Nysa was put in it's place. Millerainians are looking at this as a new beginning.

"Nysa will be a perfect fit for Millerainia, as we are going to be rudimental in it's development." Prime Minister Grayson said in a statement.

PRIME MINISTER WEDDING

Emily Thorne seen in her wedding dress before the ceremony

SILVER SHORE- The big day came for the two famous lovebirds of the nation on Saturday. Prime Minister Daniel Grayson and his fiancee Emily Thorne wed in a private ceremony behind his family's beach house in the seaside vacation town of Silver Shore, a popular destination for Millersport Metro residents.

The couple was joined by immediate friends, family, and other famous friends totaling 50 people in all. Grayson, whose family owns the famous Grayson Global Company that works in investments surprised the nation when he decided that a more subtle wedding was preferred to his family's usual extravagant parties.

Not much is known about Thorne, other than that Grayson and her met just last year and she is very private.Reporters could only catch a few pictures of any of the guests, before they were escorted off the premises by security officials. Sources say Thorne wore a Meradith Bradford dress.

They were married by the local Catholic priest Father James O'Heary, who is from the local St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ellen. Monday, Prime Minister Grayson gave an interview to MNN reporter Lucille Janser on Monday.

Janser: "So Prime Minister, do you feel any different after being wed to the lovely Emily Thorne?"
Grayson: "Well a little, I mean I have this extra ring on my finger now.. "
Janser: "So what are your future plans? Do you plan to start a family with children?"
Grayson: *smiles* "The future isn't wrote for my family right now, Emily and I are going to have to discuss that in the near future."
Janser: "So are you going to be taking time off for a honeymoon?"
Grayson: "No, I have my duty to the Millerainian people. It's sure we can make a foreign trip as a mock honeymoon, but we will eventually take one."
Janser: "Thank you for your time Mr. Prime Minister, I wish you good luck in your marriage!"
Grayson: "Thank you, it's great knowing you'll be able to be with someone you love for the rest of your life."

Millerainia Appoints Delegate for Future Nysa Parliament

MARINETTE FALLS- With the constitution of Nysa passing, Millerainia is preparing the set up of Parliament of the Nysan Organization with the appointment of an official delegate to the parliament who will represent Millerainia in the Parliament. In a ceremony in Winter Garden Plaza, Prime Minister Grayson officially appointed Argentina Williams to be the delegate of Millerainia in Nysa Parliament.

Image
Argentina Williams (Liberty Party)
Argentina is 33 years old and is currently Governor of Maylen District, which includes the city of Massatauqua. She is a graduate of the Webber University in Rockbend. She previously served as mayor of Massatauqua, and of neighboring city of Jacobson. Argentina is a member of the Liberty Party, the same party as the Prime Minister, and is a high profile member in the Millersport Area.

Argentina was seen as a great selection because she represents Millerainia very evenly. She is young, fresh and modern like Millerainia itself. She will be in control of 1 vote in the Nysan Organization Parliament, and will represent the views and goals of Millerainia.

"Argentina is a woman who I can see someday leading this country." said the Liberty Party Majority Leader of the Millersport Area, Robert Johnson said to reporters after the official news was released. "She is strong willed and is very dedicated to her country and causes." he concluded.

However, some members of Parliament are wary. Representative Brenda Oak of the Millerainian Interests Party views the decision as step in the wrong direction. "She is inexperienced in foreign policy, and has barely seen what this nation has been through in the past 40 years. She is simply too young." she stated. Edward Sully of the Green Party agreed with the representative's words, adding that he "hopes the Prime Minister will reconsider someone who is looking out for Millerainia as a whole, not just large cities."

Nevertheless, Millerainian Prime Minister Grayson has confirmed that Argentina will be the representative of Millerainia in Parliament, despite the recent backlash on the decision.

Government Budget Released

MARINETE FALLS- The Executive Ministry released it's annual budget report of government spending on ministries. The report noted some surprising things.

The Millerainian Government's budget is M$2,232,012,138,556.92, and the top spenders are education, defense and commerce. Surprisingly though, the report released that Millerainia is the top spender for three things in the regions.

Millerainia spends more than any nation on the environment, the report said. At $3.34 trillion, Millerainia spends more than 2 trillion more than the next highest spender, Zamonia. Millerainia has the largest system of National Parks and Preserves, something Millerainia is very proud of and gives generously to.

Millerainia also spends the most on social equality, with a budget of $2.67 trillion, above Roxinas that is spending $504.65 billion.
Image
Minister of Defense Jacob Craft

But most surprisingly is Millerainia's defense budget. At a whopping $10.02 trillion, Millerainia outspends larger nations on military spending. The closest competitor, Battlion, is $2 trillion off.

Many Millerainians wonder why Millerainia spends so much, for being a smaller country of 75 million citizens compared to the billions of people living in Battlion. Why does Millerainia need such a big military? Minister of Defense Jacob Craft was available for an interview and stated that "Millerainia needs to make sure it's citizens feel safe. And we are successful at that! We are the safest nation in the nation, that only proves why we need such a big military budget."

Image

Prime Minister Grayson has stated explicitly that budget will not be cut, he believes it is very important to the protection and peace of mind of the Millerainian people.

Tornado Rips Through Bergenfield

BERGENFIELD- At approximately 1:30 in the afternoon, the National Weather Ministry issued a tornado watch to the Bergenfield-Hillsborough area as storm clouds arrived from the east. The watch was upgrade to a warning at approximately 3pm. As the afternoon rush-hour began, clouds began to darken over the Bergenfield skies.

Image
Damage to Crysta Electronics Tower
The National Weather Ministry confirms that at exactly 3:35pm an F4 funnel cloud touched down in Bergenfield suburb of Milton Township, a city of 50,000 people, and continued it's journey 8 miles north into the downtown of Bergenfield, a city of 300,000. The tornado ripped through the city center until it dissipated outside of the Banking Center Arena.

At the end of the storm, over 100 people are missing or deceased. Prime Minister Daniel Grayson issued a State of Emergency for the area, and is working with the Health Ministry to help survivors. The stories of survivors themselves are haunting.

"I was in the supermarket, with my daughter, when all of the sudden the lights all went off." Milton Township resisdent Brita Johanason remembers, "My daughter looked out the window and pointed to a huge swirling cloud coming right at us. The sound was like a freight train, but worse. That's when the rocks hit and the windows broke, spraying glass everywhere." The customers there all took shelter in the store's bathrooms.

"I was walking my dog when the storm hit. I saw the funnel cloud coming down and I instantly knew what it was. Tornados are not that uncommon here, but this was bigger than any I had ever seen." Kelly Joe Ranburg stated.

While driving down the road, MNN reporter Janice Meckel saw a man standing in front of a pile of rubble. She got out of the car to ask if he needed anything. The man pointed to the wreckage and said "That's where my wife and daughter were last." before breaking down into tears.

Image

Rescue Crews have already been flocking to the region, along with the Millerainian Red Cross. Relief is needed, this is truly a national tragedy. A donation fund has been set up on bergenfieldtornadovictims.co.mil or at any local Bank of Millerainia. Prominant billionaire Bill Rosington has donated 5 million Metros to the cause and encourages others to do the same.

"We take for granted our big houses, yachts and sports cars. We forget that many of us started there, even I. I grew up in the tough Bergenfield neighborhood of Jennings Square. I got out of there, but so many have not and are now suffering. All of their property is gone, it's time for us to help the rest of our nation by donating a little bit of money. We can all give something." Bill Rosington said in a press conference.

The storm is expected to have caused 2.4 billion Metros of damage to property, the highest in Millerainia history. But no one can forget the horrible damage to life itself that this storm has caused.

New Addition to Millersport Skyline

MILLERSPORT- The City Council of Millersport has approved designs by Jude-Gremmer Architecture Firm for a sightseeing tower in the largest city in Millerainia. The tower is expected to be taller than any other building in the city, and possibly all of Millerainia and be named Excelsior Tower (EX Tower for short), after the Latin word excelsior, meaning 'ever upward'. This architectural marvel will be freestanding and will not require anything supporting it and will be 1,815.4 ft(553.33 m) upon completion.

Image
Artist rendering of the ExcelsiorTower in Millersport.
This comes after a surprising donation of land where the old City Auditorium Stadium was previously, at 1084 Parade Street. The land where CAS has been empty since the demolition of the arena in 1990 due to problems with asbestos. The land has sat vacant and had featured a homeless community during the late 1990s. The plans approved aim to use the space intelligently and incorporating a park at the bottom of the tower.

The tower will be a huge addition to the skyline of Millersport. The tower will serve as not only for tourism, but for telecommunications, TV and radio. The tower will feature a restaurant as well as a sightseeing deck. An admission fee will be charged to support the utilities costs.

This addition is a sign to many economics of the growing economic power of Millerainia. Millerainia's stocks have progressively rose over the past quarter and many expect that this building signals start a construction boom all over Millerainia.

Riots in Harbor Town After Lacrosse Game

Image
Mainland Bank Arena

HARBOR TOWN- Last night, all eyes were on Mainland Bank Area, with a capacity of 18,690 inside, and 3 large screens outside that were being watched by approximately an extra 20 thousand people, where the Ariena Wolves were playing the hometown Harbor Town Bandits at the last playoff game, winner of which would be awarded the Henderson Trophy, the highest award in the Professional Millerainia Lacrosse Association.

The game was a tough one, with the scores being very close or tied most of the game The teams entered the fourth quarter with Harbor Town leading Ariena 10-9. Ariena tied the game by a goal from Art Johnson. There were no scores for the until the last minute of gameplay, where Harbor Town had posession of the ball.

Bandit player Jerald St. Mark was running through neutral territory when he was punched in the face by Wolves' player Derrek August, who then grabbed the ball from the bleeding Bandit. This act is strictly against lacrosse rules, however he was not penalized by referees, so in the last 10 seconds, August scored the winning goal for Ariena.

The game whistle ended the Bandit's hopes of scoring again. The trophy was awarded to the Wolves, while the Bandits fans, angered by the loss and mostly intoxicated by the cheap alcohol sold in the stadium, started to cause meley in the stands.

Starting with some fans throwing beer cans and assorted concession food onto the turf field, hometown fans began to let loose their anger. Stadium security was called first to a fist fight between a Wolves fan and a Bandits fan, which soon escalated to many fights.

The first 9-11 call was placed at 11:14pm of a man stabbed with broken bottle. At 11:17pm the fire alarm was pulled, activating the sprinkler system and forcing the heated crowd out onto the streets of Downtown Harbor Town.

The crowd was joined by the angry crowd who watched it outside on the television screens. They started by damaging cars and store fronts. This led to burning of jerseys and Wolves' flags and fan wear.

The fire department responded to the arena at approximately 11:21pm and were welcomed by burning cars, and a whole city block of bars on fire. The riot continued down Mulberry and Nagasett Streets, where rioters broke the window to the Maxwell Department Store, Grapefruit Electronics, and Harbor Town Downtown Mall, which were all looted extensively.

The rioters were joined by arsonists and criminals who infamously reside in the city's East Side. These people were hiden with masks and armed with gasoline, baseball bats and other assorted weapons.

Riot police along responded and quartered off the Downtown district with road blocks to prevent the riot from spreading to other areas from the city. They attempted to stop rioters with tear gas, and forming blockades with shields.

The riots lasted until 4am when the last rioters were aprehended by city police. Area hospitals were full of burn victims as well as many other riot related ailments, reaching 160 injured victims in all. Regular citizens were affected as a group of rioters attacked a city bus, in which 9 people were injured including a five year old child.

City officials blame the overall attitude the sports teams provided with maintaining a large rivalry between the two teams. The game itself was full of fights and penalties, totally at least 20 penalties total, one of the highest in lacrosse history in Millerainia.
Image
Rioters in the street with police

The damage is estimated to total M$4.5 million, says the government of Harbor Town.

"This not only places a bad mark against our city, our country and the great sport of lacrosse...this is costing the city money that it needs to fund schools, shelters and utilities." said Harbor Town Mayor Nancy Coughlin.

As Harbor Town picks up the pieces from the riot, Ariena is on alert for potential there as the Henderson Cup travels to the city for a celebration and event.

Immigration Rises 260% in Millerainia

ROCKBEND- The northern Millerainia city of Rockbend is known for it's Appleton Bank Tower, and it's lovely beaches. But more recently, it is known for it's immigrants. According to the Ministry of Population and Statistics, Millerainia's immigration rate has increased 260%. Social Analysts note that while instability rocks major nations of the region, Millerainia still stands as a stable beacon with it's multitude of civil and political freedoms, it's successful economy, welcoming spirit and distance from other nations.

The Millerainian cities of St. Catharines, Rockbend, Ariena and Millersport have all seen large increases in immigrant communities. Districts of cities are soon filling up with immigrants from certain nations. For example, citizens fleeing Cielomare during the Cielomare Civil War have established "Little Cielo" in Rockbend, due to it's closer proximity to the Cielomarian Island than other cities.

Image
Multiculturism in Millerainia
According to the Immigration Act of 1967, immigrants must wait 1 year before being able to apply for full citizenship of the State of Millerainia. However, unlike many countries, Millerainia grants temporary residency of 2 years automatically to immigrants who fit the requirements of speaking enough English to understand the common person, pledging to abide by Millerainian law or face deportation after convicted, and must be able to pass a 10 question quiz on Millerainia.

Due to the recent rise in immigration to Millerainia, industries like agriculture, automobile making and steel making have all seen large increases. Millerainia is also seeing a rise in the service industry.

Millerainian immigrants are occupying more apartments and houses than ever before. As more and more people immigrate, the more political power the minority groups of these people gains, social analysts say.

When asked why he decided to move to immigrate to Millerainia, a teary-eyed father named Jackson Arbor stated "There was nothing for me in the old country, here I can afford to live in a safe neighborhood with a working police force, and not have to worry about my house being blown up in the middle of the night. I just feel safer here, and I know my children are getting the education they deserve without the threat of being attacked or killed at any second. Civil wars are ruining my country."

Millerainian officials welcome the immigrants, but sources say they worry about how the cost of living will rise in Millerainia due to huge increase in residents. Millerainia has already begun importing more and more products to make up for more people, which is rapidly increasing.

Prime Minister Creates New Job: Deputy Prime Minister

MARINETTE FALLS- As the State of Millerainia continues it's transition from a constitutional monarchy to a democracy, jobs have been added to create governmental

stability. This is true when Prime Minister Daniel Grayson announced the creation of a new seat in the cabinet, the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Deputy Prime Minister will be second in command, and will always be there in case the Prime Minister cannot fulfill his duties. The position is one of many added to the Executive Ministry in the last few months. The Deputy Prime Minister will also be in charge of organizing any and all committees created within the Executive Ministry as well as heading Parliament.

Along with the creation of the position, Grayson announced the person who would fill it. He announced that Spencer Davis, a member of the Liberty Party, would be the first Deputy Prime Minister of Millerainia. All Deputy Prime Ministers after her will be elected with the Prime Minister candidate that wins.

Image
Spencer Davis
Spencer Davis is a lawyer from the small populated District 15, and is originally from Blaketon, a small town near Morgan Pier in Lighthouse County. Her parents, both prominent lawyers in the area, died when Davis was only 10, leaving Davis to be cared for by her older sister, Melissa. Working nights at the local MacMilliman's, Spencer graduated top of her class with a law degree from local public university, Lighthouse Public University. After an internship at the local District Attorney, she rose to become to most repected lawyer on the east coast of Millerainia.

"I chose Mrs. Davis because I am trying to let this country, and this region know that even though Millerainia may be young, it does not set us back. We are ambitious, and we are hopeful and hardworking. Millerainia is a rock in this tumultuous time. Our strong leaders give us the power to get more done. Mrs. Davis is perfect for the job, she's hardworking, she's charismatic and smart as a whip. I am looking forward to working with her." the Prime Minister commented on his reason for his choice.

With the regional troubles going on, the Prime Minister is going to need all the help he can. With a Deputy Prime Minister, he has someone else he can consult with before making the hard decisions.

Parliament Election Results:
New Changes for Millerainia

ImageImage
Liberty Party| Conservative Party | Millerainian Interests Party | Liberal Party | Green Party

MARINETTE FALLS- Last night, Millerainians went to polling stations to vote for their representatives to Parliament. Results for both the Senate (left) and Commons House (Right) surprised many political analysts and politicians alike.

In the tough times that Millerainia sees all over the region, and with uncertainty at all corners, Millerainian voters responded with a surprising amount of votes for the Millerainian Interests Party. The party, a more radical conservative party, focuses on a return to what Millerainia needs. Their policies include the rise of Millerainia as a power with the continuation of Millerainian culture without it being tainted by the surrounding world at the same time. They have been described by their moderate and liberal counterparts as "self-centered" and "unwilling to adapt to fit the ever-changing world", but the MIP has seen progressive political gains over the few months due to regional uncertainty.
Image
Millerainians at polling stations

Conservative parties (Conservative Party, MIP) hold majority in both the House and Senate, which some say will conflict with the moderate leaning Executive Ministry.

The Liberty Party, the moderate party of the Prime Minister and a lot of his cabinet, lost seats to the MIA and Conservative Party. After the Conservative party, they hold the most seats in both the Senate and Commons House. The Liberal Party also lost seats.

No one can predict what exactly this shift of power in Parliament will do to Millerainia. Time will tell if this change is for the better, or for worse.

Millerainia Bombs Cielomare del Norde Capital

Image

MARINETTE FALLS- Minister of Defense, Jacob Craft issued a statement today that Millerainia bombed the rogue state of Cielomare del Norde's capital city. Craft has confirmed that two fighter jets were destroyed in the attack, but that Millerainian's reached all of their targets by taking out influential buildings in the northern city.

Image
Minister of Defense Jacob Craft
The attack was executed in the late evening. The famous Death Angels pilots from Fort McKillip in Port Abuela flew from a aircraft carrier along with the North Shore Bomb Squad to CDN's capital of Campi Verdi. The targeted buildings were the center of CDN's rogue government, and a large arsenal of weapons held in a large warehouse. CDN armed forces discovered the air raid, and shot down two of the fighter jets. The convoy reached Cielomare airspace before the northern forces could continue their defense.

News of this attack shocked the Millerainian people. Millerainia has been historically anti-involvement in non-Aureterra affairs, especially civil war conflicts. But the newly established State of Millerainia is changing up that position. Prime Minister Grayson has pledged that Millerainia will do anything necessary to protect it's allies and interests abroad. Deputy Prime Minister Spencer Davis and Minister of Defense Jacob Craft have confirmed that status.

"The world needs Millerainia to be the voice of the civilized world, defending democratic freedoms and supporting Millerainian as well as our allies' affairs in all corners of Nysa." stated Deputy PM Spencer Davis in a statement to the press.

Millerainia's continued involvement in the conflict is unsure. CDN and Cielomore have yet to release statements regarding the aerial strike.

Citizens Protest Military Involvement

Image
PM Grayson and wife attempt to leave Executive Ministry Building
MARINETTE FALLS- Today protesters lined up outside the Executive Ministry and Executive House in the capital in opposition of Millerainia's recent military involvement in Cielomare's civil war.

The protesters voiced their opinion on Millerainia's air strike on the Cielomare del Norde capital city while holding signs and camping out in front of the Prime Minister's home and place of work. The crowds swelled to over a thousand people at around noon as social media spread to event to residents of the Capital Region.

"We need to mind our own business. Otherwise, we will get ourselves into trouble." said Taylor Nathan, a tattoo artist from Starchester.
Image

"The problem is that Millerainia can't be militaristic if we want our products to be able to be sold worldwide. We need to be able to trade with all nations, military involvement is only impeding on the global interests of Millerainia." said Mark Shepherd.

A worried stay-at-home mom stated that "The last thing we need is for someone to make an enemy of Millerainia! We don't want to be attacked, we are of the most civilized nation on the planet.. and do you know what a war would do to my hair?"

When Prime Minister Daniel Grayson and his wife Emily Thorne attempted to leave the Executive Ministry to get home to the Executive House, they were swarmed by an angry mob, and Executive Security had to protect the Prime Minister. Marinette Falls Police Department arrested 28 unruly protesters who made threats to the Prime Minister and his family or were attempting to touch the Grayson or Thorne.

The Executive Ministry has not made any comments on the protests or any future military involvement in foreign affairs, but as of now, the protests are spreading to many major Millerainian cities including Millersport, Ariena, Rockbend and Asuta.

Government Responds to Protesters and Falsean Claims

Image
Prime Minister Grayson
MARINETTE FALLS- Due to recent developments with the anti-military protests and claims by General Bernard Thompson of Falsea, the Executive Ministry of Millerainia has released the following statement on the subject of the Cielomare Intervention Air Strike that occurred late last week.
Millerainia has dedicated itself to the peace and prosperity of the region and in the protection of free-people everywhere. When our ally Cielomare announced it's internal struggles, Millerainia stood and up attempted to keep the peace and reduce any further war by bombing the capital of a rogue state called Cielomare del Norde. This is all a part of Millerainia's Prosperity Act which was enacted by Parliament last May, which states that with the Prime Minister's approval, the military has the right to attempt to keep peace in any ways necessary. We also question Falsea's claims that our acts are 'shocking and destructive' as they themselves are not contributing to the well-being of the nation. While Millerainia promotes diplomacy on all levels, with a potential of weapons of mass-destruction which the Intelligence Services of Millerainia (ISM) was given a tip about, we knew we had to intervene and stop the nonsense violence. We call for any foreign government to reduce their troop numbers and cease supporting such an illegitimate state. We hope that peace can be achieved soon in the area, and we will continue to monitor the situation. But as of now, we have chosen have no further continued military involvement in the conflict unless necessary.
- Prime Minister Daniel Grayson, Executive Ministry of Millerainia

This statement was released today by the Executive Ministry and shows that Millerainia is officially out of the Cielomare Civil War as of now. This seems to be a response that the people have been waiting for, and hundreds of thousands across the nation protest Millerainian involvement in the foreign conflict. Others say that Millerainia sends a message to the world that they speak softly and carry a big stick, as Millerainia has not been known to use their military that much. All that is known is that Millerainian Defenses have almost all come back to national shores, with only a few ships monitoring the Cielomare Coastline.

Defense Minister Calls Out On Falsean Lies

MARINETTE FALLS- The Ministry of Defense released a statement today in response to the audacious claims made by Falsean Minister of State, Royce Lawrence, who openly

criticizes the governments of the world. Defense Minister Jacob Craft made this speech today:

"Millerainia is appalled by the hypocrisy that has been mentioned by the misguided Falsean Minister of State. Apparently, he doesn't know everything. Millerainia is not an imperialistic power, we do not have colonies, we do not invade to 'take control' of a nation, or for our own interests. That is what Falsea has been doing, however. Falsea is desperate for a 'communist buddy' in the region, as there are none. They want it so desperately that they are willing to just have a full-scale invasion of an island to make sure that it happens. If you haven't noticed, the war is ending... and what caused that? Could it possibly have been from the complete destruction of the rogue government and weapons arsenal? And the people of Cielomare del Nord are realizing that they will be more restricted under the most restrictive ideology out there, which happens to be the socialist one.If you want to talk about our interests, consider your interests first. Second of all, we are not taking away any freedom from Erina Isle, we are protecting them from the harms of belligerent nations that hope to intervene and supportany opposition to the democratic and capitalistic governments, even if it is of little numbers. And the government in Suoyon asked for Millerainia to defend them in the first place. If anyone is being inappropriate, it is Falsea, for you are only complaining because of our ideologies, which you proved in your statement. We are disgusted by your lack of professionalness in this, by personally insulting nations that you believe 'have it out for you.' Let me make this clear, you are not better than the any of us. Stop acting like you're above us, for you are not. Millerainia is not to blame for the violence that has occurred in Cielomare, we only responded in a way that would reduce the amount of casualties, compared to a full scale invasion like that of the Falsean military."

All over Millerainia, people are disgusted by the Falsean government, and approval ratings of Falsean relations are at an all time low. However, the Minister of Foreign

Minister of Foreign Relations, Catherine Lark
Affairs assures that "Millerainia and Falsea are diplomatically no different than before, we are still working with them in our embassy in Falsea and their's here in Millerainia. No citizen of Millerainia should be afraid in Falsea, as no Falsean citizens should fear anything in Millerainia. We do not blame the individual citizens for their government's actions or comments."

Minister of Defense's Affair and Child?

Image
Jacob Craft
MARINETTE FALLS- News has surfaced that affects the Minister of Defense, Jacob Craft. It has come to the media's attention, that he may have had an extramarital affair, and he may even have a child, without is wife Hannah knowing.

30 year old Marina Delcott came forward Tuesday, claiming to be the mistress of the Minister of Defense. Marina Delcott, previously a member of Craft's Senate campaign in the city of Putnam near the capital Marinette Falls, is now a secretary for a modeling agency in Marinette Falls. Delcott claims that Craft had sexual relations with her during 2007 and 2008. In 2008, she found out that she was pregnant, and 9 months later gave birth to her son Andrew. Delcott said that Craft did indeed know about the birth and send a basket of baby-supplies along with a check for over $1 million. "I thought he would be happy, because I thought our feelings were mutual, that we loved each other. Then he dumps me off a basket with a check and leaves forever."

On May 6, 2009, Andrew was born at Holy Trinity Hospital in Putnam, which the hospital has confirmed. Delcott produced a birth certificate for her 3 year old child, which lack a signature on the 'father' line. "He wasn't there, I haven't seen him since I got pregnant." Delcott said. Delcott confirms that she cashed the check, and bought property in the middle class neighborhood of Augusta Heights in Bellingham.

Craft's office dismisses these claims, stating that Delcott, a previous drug user, should not be trusted with such outlandish information. Putnam Police Dept. as well as the Capital Corrections Ministry do confirm the fact that Marina Delcott was previously sentenced for 1 year in Riverside Juvenile Detention Center of at age 17 for possession of heroin in her 45th Street apartment. Delcott has said that she has not done or sold drugs since her incarceration and release, and now volunteers with at-risk girls to try and prevent drug use.

Delcott is pursuing for Child Support Money from the Defense Minister. She claims that the high cost of living in the Capital Metro Area is hard on single-parent's income, which is around $36,000 per year for Marina. She has suggested the use of DNA testing; Craft's office has so far denied doing the tests.

Craft's wife, Hannah has reacted different than what many may think; she has since separated herself from Jacob Craft. This does not support the Defense Minister's claims that he is indeed not the father. Hannah's family released a statement today, saying that "[Hannah] just needs some time away from all the media and reporters." But, many believe that she knows the truth behind the whole scandal.

Since the story hit the news, many have asked why the Conservative Party member had the affair in the first place. Conservative Party Leaders worry about the possible repercussions of the high media spectacle that the scandal has caused. No word if they plant to do anything about the matter.

Delcott plans to take Craft to court if he refuses to voluntary give DNA, which would prove truly who the father of the child is. Delcott said that she had not come forward until now, because she thought she could just keep it a secret forever. "I thought I could do it, but the feeling in my gut when I look at my child, knowing his father doesn't recognize him.. it just kills me." she said.

Christmas Season Starts in Millerainia

Image
MARINTETTE FALLS- With the lighting of the downtown Marinette Falls Christmas Tree, the holiday season has officially started today.Christmas music floods radio stations and houses start to put up decorations for the holiday season on all corners of the country.

Millerainians, known for their retail appetite, will soon pack shopping malls and districts as holiday deals start. It is expected that holiday season profits will hit an all time high this year, as the economy has been growing very fast. But that's not the only thing that is up this year.

Tourism to Millerainia has been steadily increasing during the past 5 Christmas seasons. The beaches of Northern Millerainia and the ski slopes of the Lava Mountains bring people from all over the world to Millerainia during the holiday seasons.

However, it is not all retail that holiday money goes to. Millerainia has been one of the most charitable nations in the region, and on the continent for the past 15 years. The average Millerainian donates over $550 to charity throughout the holiday season.

In all ways, Millerainia showcases a lot of what modern Christmas has become in the world, but continues to maintain some tradition with midnight masses in churches all over the nation.

Also being recognized is the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, which is followed by a sizable Jewish population of Millerainia.

ELECTION RESULTS: CONSERVATIVE PARTY IN OFFICE

MARINETTE FALLS- Millerainians hit the polling stations today to vote for the next leader of the State of Millerainia in the election with the highest voter turnout in 50 years. Conservative Candidate Patrick Baker of New Nutmeg came out with the win and right to the Executive Ministry after Christmas, beating out candidates from the four other major parties.

Popular vote decides all Millerainian elections, the candidate with the highest percentage of voters wins. Patrick Baker if the Conservative Party won 48% of the popular vote, with majorities in his home district of New Nutmeg, Mauritina, Lagota, Buena Terra and Lawrentka. Next in popularity was the current Prime Minister Daniel Grayson of the Liberty Party with 38% with the majorities in Cambria, Millerox and Montdell. The Liberal Party candidate Jenna Morrison won 18% of the popular vote, with a majority in Haukii and in Mauvatii. The Millerainian Interests Party candidate Roland Downing and Green Party candidate Vita Thomas only one 1% of the vote each, and did not have the majority vote in any district.

Patrick Baker and wife Rachel waiting for the results
Patrick Baker, a senator from New Nutmeg, grew up in an impoverish section of Stony Beach, a suburb of St. Nicholas. His parents were immigrants from Nutmeg, and worked as a steel factory worker and a hospital nurse. Patrick Baker was a very bright student. He attended the public school of Stony Beach High School. His 11th grade chemistry teacher Brooke Auburn said that "He refused to fail at anything.. if he didn't understand a concept, he asked for help, and didn't rest until he fully understood it. He was my best student, often the only one who asked questions, which is why he got the highest grade in New Nutmeg District for the chemistry final exam." Patrick graduated valedictorian and soon received a scholarship to attend Nichols University in Henrietta, New Nutmeg, studying political science.

Patrick Baker then continued his political career all the way, to now Prime Minister of Millerainia. When he received the results of the election at 12:00 AM local time, he turned to his wife Rachel and kissed her, his first show of public affection with his wife, who has tried to remain private in this election and in Baker's political life.

Prime Minister Daniel Grayson, even though losing this election, promises to remain a part of politics. The other candidates have expressed similar aspirations.

Patrick Baker has two weeks to prepare a cabinet to work underneath him, but will most likely have one already prepared and will announce it within the next few days. He will be inaugurated as Prime Minister On January 1st at Prime Minister Plaza in downtown Marinette Falls. He will then serve a four year term.

Conservatives (Conservative Party, Millerainian Interests Party) are excited about this election, especially since they now control the majority of Parliament as well. They now will have little opposition in getting bills passed. Time will tell what change Millerainia will see under the new Prime Minister.

Egyptos Revolution Overthrows Government-No Government Running Currently

Image
AL QAHIRA, EGYPTOS- Reports from the Millerainian Embassy in Al Qahira, Egyptos has confirmed that after a 10 day mass-protest of the Egyptos government, the rebel forces have overthrown the government and killed the Prime Minister in a coup d'tat.

What is becoming known as the Qahira Revolt, started 10 days ago after the government of Egyptos gave permission to set up an embassy in the now Jewish country of Avelhol. A group of about 250 citizens protested at the Al Qahira Centre Monument at The citizens who participated claimed that the embassy "went against Egyptos principals and Islam itself" and that "No Muslim country should support the evil Jews".

Using the power of social media, the protesters soon began to gain more and more supporters, swelling to well over 50, 000 on the third day of the protest. This continued to swell to over an estimated 100,000 people who gathered in the center of the capital city, angered by the support for the legitimacy of Avelhol. They burned flags of Avelhol and pictures of the Prime Minister. They also targeted several other nation's including Nutmeg and Millerainia's support and establishment for Avelhol. The rebel forces turned militaristic and has been fighting with the national military for the past few days, with high power weapons of an unknown source.

"[Nutmeg and Millerainia] will rot in a fiery hell as scum supporting governments intent on ruining Muslim principals! They will rue the day they ever gave rotten Jews the land of Muslims" a rebel told an Egyptos correspondent from the Al Qahira Times Daily.

"The Prime Minister is a dirty scumbag that supports satanic nations like Millerainia, Nutmeg and Avelhol. He will truly burn in Hell" said another.

The protests has caused all trade and commerce in the capital to grind to a halt. Whole city blocks have been set on fire and the small military is going up against groups of citizens armed with weapons. Citizens of other nations sit trapped in their embassies, as many cannot get to the airport. The government had tried to quell the rebellion by turning off power to large sections of the city, and sending out the military and reserves to try and disperse the rebels.

Today at 10:00 am, a large group of protesters stormed the Prime Ministers office, another the Parliament and a third the High Court of Egyptos armed with AK-47s and knives, slaying all of the high power individuals including the Prime Minister. They were still stuck in their offices from when the protest grew to it's height. The Egyptos goverment currently has no leadership, and is considered to have collapsed by members of the international community. Millerainia issued for citizens to be sent out of the country, and the embassy workers including the ambassador will leave also, but no information on when this will be possible, as the airport is being held by rebel forces. No word on what or who will take over the country, and what their agenda might consist of.
Image

Political analysts believe that the revolution may have sinister roots. It has been speculated that the government overthrow is a cause of the radical terrorist Muslim organization of Al Araba, which many believe supplied the protesters with firearms and weapons and encouraged the violent revolt. The Millerainian government has considered the rebellion's source to be terrorism.

Avelhol Becomes Official Millerainian Ally
Signs Arms Deal With Avelhol

Image
Female Avelhol Defense Forces holding Millerainian-Made Queenston Rifles
TEL JAFFA, AVELHOL- Prime Minister Patrick Baker met with top leaders of Avelhol's government and military today to establish a treaty and a contract with the small Jewish nation.

Millerainia declared it's dedication for promoting and protecting Avelhol, the nation's newest ally. Millerainia has agreed to set up a peace treaty with the small Jewish nation and to make trade faster and easier. Avelhol will be allowing Millerainians use of their military bases if needed, and will be opening up trade to Millerainian businesses. Furthermore, the two governments have agreed to a contract of Millerainia's arms industry, which is dominated by Millerainia's Military.

The government of Avelhol has agreed to sign a 7 year arms contract with the state of Millerainia, a major military technology and weapons provider. According to the signed treaty, Avelhol can only purchase arms from Millerainia, and may not use the weapons it uses to inflict harm on Millerainia or her allies. Avelhol will not be able to legally purchase arms from another nation for 7 years. Millerainia will be their only arms supplier. This includes both military and civilian weapons, and all other foreign weapons found will be confiscated and destroyed. However, the contract has allowed Avelhol to manufacture smaller handguns and rifles at the civilian level. Millerainia also set which guns can be sold to the general public, and which are strictly military-grade.

With Avelhol already having troubles with civilian crime, it is not expected that the many guns will be made legal to buy by civilians. In the two years since tougher gun control laws enacted, crime has gone down 43% overall, and 24% in the low-income neighborhoods. Avelhol now requires all citizens to buy guns from the government after passing strenuous background checks by the AIS. It can take months to obtain a permit for even a household pistol. Because of this reason, most civilians do not have such permits, and non-Jewish residents are denied the permits at high rates in the Jewish majority country.

Museum Heist Continues in Millerainia: Artifacts Stolen

Image
Davidson Museum in Millersport
MILLERSPORT- The theft of priceless artifacts continued after last night's theft at the National Museum in San Martin, Kingborough. For the second night in a row, a museum has been broken into and it's most valuable contents swiped. Tonight, it was the Davidson Museum in Millersport.

At approximately 9:45 pm,after the museum closed at 8 pm, the security measured were manually deactivated in the Security Room. All sensors were turned off, the cameras were turned off and the locks were all disabled. The robbers stole several priceless artwork from around the world, including "Millerainian Gothic", "Shout", the "Mina Losa" and "Portrait of Liz the Mad". Also stolen was an ancient piece of Native Millerainian writing, a Royal dress from Nutmeg and a small statue from ancient Cielomare. The estimated values of all the items put together is well over $400 billion.

Luckily, a camera from the apartment building managed to recorded the whole thing on camera. Several robbers, dressed fully in black attire, stashed their stolen property into a generic imported white panel van with Maurtina license plates. The van was recorded by another camera, entering onto the A-10 heading west towards Asuta and the border with Belhorizon.

Police have released a picture of the van, but have not confirmed any suspects. It is not yet clear whether the robbery is connected with the one in Kingborough.

Image
The director of the museum, Terry Jepson said "I am appalled.. how could someone just walk in and steal something that belongs to everyone. Those art pieces are not property of this museum in a way.. they are property of those who can enjoy it within the confines of the museum. Museums are meant for people, when one person steals from them, they are stealing from the whole community and the whole nation. I hope they find it in their heart to return these to their rightful owners... the Millerainian people."

Police have been able to find small amounts of DNA and two fingerprints in the museum, but cannot confirm any of the identities of their many suspects. It is suspected, however, that it could be an inside job by several employees of the museum. Which has an eerie echo of the Kingborough robbery.

Millerainia's Intelligence Agency, Agudeza, has been called in to investigate the theft, and the museum will be closed until further notice. Police and border patrol agents have been informed of the car's license plates and the description of the suspects, and will hopefully catch the criminals before priceless pieces of history are damaged.

Image

His four year term began today at 12 pm at Old Henderson Square in Marinette Falls, Cambria. He will serve as Prime Minister until the year 2017. And he is expected to release his cabinet later today.

A crowd of over 40,000 people crowded into Marinette Falls' Old Henderson Square, commonly referred to as Prime Minister's Square due to the location of many inaugurations since the capital's founding. The inauguration was attended by mostly members of the general public, however a large amount of celebrities flocked to the downtown center to weigh in on the country's new Prime Minister.

Model Adrianna DeMarco said "I think these next four years will be some great ones. We will get a lot accomplished with the conservative Parliament and Prime Minister."

Some of Millerainia's top politicians gave speeches before the official ceremony, congratulating Baker and looking forward to the future.

"Millerainia will shine and be an even brighter beacon of light than it has ever before. We will prosper, we will grow, and we will change, but we will only change for the better" said the 73 year old Congresswoman Jessica Langley (Conservative-Buena Terra).

Image
Observers of the Inauguration at Old Henderson Square
As tradition, the Principle High Court Justice swore in the new Prime Minister, who placed his left hand over the Bible and his right hand in the air. He then proceeded in saying his first Pledge to Millerainia to complete his inauguration. The Prime Minister's song play after this, and then the national anthem. Following the official ceremony, the square turned into quite the party scene, with concerts and performances by top-entertainers.

Tonight there will be a fireworks show that will celebrate the new Prime Minister, and he will spend his first night in the Executive Mansion, which all Prime Ministers have access to.

Millerainia has entered a new era, with Prime Minister Baker at it's lead.

with fiancee Julia Clark
PORT ABUELA, BUENA TERRA- Minister of Foreign Affairs David Mathewson began his first foreign tour today, visiting the troubled Nysa continent. He departed for his first stop in Tel Jaffa, Avelhol from Fort McKillip in Port Abuela during the night. His route started in Avelhol, where he discussed their current alliance and the current situation in Egyptos. He will then visit Nutmeg, where he will discuss the possible regional alliance and trade agreements. He will continue to Battlion, Elemeno and finally Kingborough. Mathewson is quoted to be excited and ready to promote Millerainia in all of the nations he visits. His fiancee Julia has accompanied him on the trip.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expects to come home with much progress with the Nysa continent nations. Prime Minister Patrick Baker believes he has what it takes to promote Millerainia to the foreign nations and to develop good relationships for long-lasting peace with some of Millerainia's closest allies.

UPDATE
Mathewson landed in Avelhol at around 12pm, and where he was seen going through the Avelholi customs with his fiancee Julia Clark at Esther Haifa International Airport in Tel Jaffa. He met with Avelholi Prime Minister Kalanit Tzita and later attended a gala where he spoke of Millerainia's special relationship with Avelhol.

"As a Millerainian, I have the upmost respect for this country. You are strong, you are free and you are young. Millerainia was once in the same boat that you are in, we feel you. We now must bond together as brother nations and form a great alliance that our grandchildren will endure. I am sure that Avelhol will prosper, and Millerainia will be at its side the whole way. We are dedicated to preserving Avelhol's freedom, country and people." Mathewson spoke.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs will stay for two more days in Avelhol and will meet with head military officials of Avelhol and discuss trade options.

Trade Embargoes Placed On Merish

MARINETTE FALLS, MILLERAINIA/BATTRONIO, BATTLION/SUOYON, ERINA ISLE- As a response to the human slavery, Millerainia, Battlion and Erina Isle officially placed trade embargoes against the human-rights violating nation Merish.

Image
St. Catherines Port to see less international traffic
All three nations made announced their trade embargoes in response to the current situation in Merish, which all three nations deem to be deplorable and inhumane. Merish is currently fighting a war against the nation of Sovreignry, the trade embargoes are an attempt to weaken the violating state.

The trades cease all trade and economic business between Merish and the three countries. All three promise to keep the embargoes until Merish promises to cease human slavery within it's borders. Millerainia encourages other nations to follow suit. Prime Minister Baker said this today:

"We need to all be a part of stopping the inhumane treatment of humans in Merish. It is sickening to think that such a race believes it can hold these people against their wills in the combines of slavery, while the Merish expect to be treated the same around the world. Millerainia has officially passed the Sapient Rights Act into our own constitution, as most of the nations in Nysa have. If Merish does not pass this, the impact of Nysa will not only been economic. We will force this nation to stop it's terrible actions, and pay for what it has done."
