Reception of the Twilight books in your nation?

Postby Tryienne » Sat Aug 25, 2012 12:31 pm

What is the reception of the Twilight books in your nation?

In Tryienne, we are neutral towards this book. We have one People of Honour named after these books, and we like not to dwell on that fact.

The common Draugaborgír folk is not aware of the existence of such books, but among the upper echelons of society, it is greatly frowned upon.
The language of Draugaborg is Draugskur. The demonym is Draugaborgskúr(male) or Draugaborgskö (female), both plural and singular. The adjective is Draugaborgar. Draugskur is a constructed and artistic language created by me, and is based mainly on Icelandic and Russian. Please note that its systems and grammar may be modified, so certain posts will be rendered void in retrospect.

There are far better books in the Empire of Ulvena and the Twilight books are just causing tweens to become butthurt when both independent and government raters rate the book a professional F.

We don't care about the Twilight series, since it is generally viewed by most Zokorians as mediocre.

At least we don't give a damn on Bella and Edward's love story though.

Agymnum citizens tend to snub literature that doesn't emphasize some sort of knowledge or character development. It's a big reason you won't find us reading a lot of science fiction (fiction = not real knowledge; science fiction books tend to fail in character development) despite being scientists and why we shy away from a lot of fantasy novels.

Twilight sold rather poorly in our nation, though it did sell. All of the sales were to libraries and data archives, where the book was thoroughly analyzed and then disposed as being 'just another trash romance novel with supernatural elements'.

The Twilight books were viewed as something for American women only, since the cultural differences prevented Zebulorians from understanding exactly what was supposed to be so great about those books. So we are neutral/apathetic towards them, unless you happen to study American population and culture for a living.

Twilight books are really useful here, there's a company called Firebooks Industry which combine them with fuel, they make up for a really good combustible used to start bonfires by campists, they ignite during hours.
