Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs
Greetings,
As Minister of Foreign Affairs it is with greet honour and distinction that I have the opportunnity to formally announce the successful passage of Foreign Relations & Cooperation Realignment Act 2012 and its approval by way of royal assent. Introduced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the act seeks to reform the structure of the ministry and stream line the process for ministry in its capacity of completing its responsibilities and ease the burden of foreign entities interacting with the Carminican government.
The most significant adaptation of the ministry, as sanctioned by the act, is the establishment of the Department of Trade & the Department of Foreign Investment. The Department of Trade will be eliminated from the Ministry of Commerce and adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Department of Foreign Investment will be established. It is our hope that the reforms adopted will ensure a lively and health development between Carminican and foreign industry. Leading the Department of Trade will be the newly appointment Minister of State for Trade and leading the Department of Foreign Invest will be the Minister of State for Foreign Investment, both of whom will report to the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, the Diplomatic Service Directorate will annex the Diplomatic & Royal Protection Agency as well as the Office of His Majesty's Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps. Together, as stated by the act, the three entities will be resposible for all embassies and consulates within Carminica and Carminican diplomatic missions abroad. All current embassies in Carminica will be informed of the changes and any changes that will take place concerning their specific missioner. Currently, the Diplomatic Service directorate is in the process of establishing an alternate embass program that is more conducive to the new mandate of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
It is our hope that the new advances in Carminica's Ministry of Foreign Affairs may allow for a strengthen in relationships with the international community.
Signed,
The Right Honourable Emily Roots
