The Republic of Woodstead is an island nation in the intercontinental region of Astyria. With under 5 million people, Woodstead may be seen as insignificant to the untrained eye; however, an additional 500,000 are subjected to our diplomatic and military operations as Woodstead oversees The Protectorate of Cezary and The Territory of Libetta. Woodstead, Cezary, and Libetta produce a sizeable amount of Astyrian industry and business; with tourism, trade, and activity on the up, The Ministry of Global Affairs is here to assist foreign affairs here.

The Republic of Woodstead is interested in helping to improve the world's wealth by contributing small cash incentives. We will limit amounts, and applying will not mean instant success. Certain criteria must be met. In the application form you will be asked a series of questions, and if we find too many answers unfavourable, we will be more reluctant to serve any agreement of foreign aid. We do not want to be a cash-prize, and we will administer this strictly, swiftly, and fairly.
Extradition, in our belief, must sometimes be a fact of diplomacy. Extradition services in Woodstead are to be strictly monitored by a watchdog who will deliver a verdict on ethical, practical, and financial viability of the case. However, for some time, extradition will not be accessible. As part of statute law and precedent, Woodsteasian law upholds certain fundamental rights to all, and will not permit dehumanising torture, though other nations do make it their wish to implement the eye-for-an-eye, we will be more vigilant and track progress of all extraditions.
From April 2014, The Ministry will be operating a 'no-nonsense' policy in which we will not take part with nations and entities who make little effort in requesting services- mostly for foreign aid and extradition. The administration will not tolerate such brevity that a request is wholly implicit. The Ministry should be taken seriously as a political and diplomatic entity like that of a larger nation or organisation.
In Woldland, the capital city, there is a congestion charge which is a contribution for every car driving through central zones of Woldland. We know that it is inevitable that diplomatic cars will be brought through the threshold as the ambassadors live in the Greater Woldland area, and must work in the very zone we charge for. However, we will deduct 80% for all diplomatic number plates.
Diplomatic Immunity Act 2010 is currently being discussed for possible amendment, in detail, on the floor of the National Assembly, though we can briefly disclose expected outcomes:
- Charges for traffic offences by licensed diplomatic vehicles will no longer be waived, if not driven or containing the Ambassador or their family.
- Any misconduct in public by any staff will be disclosed to the guest nation's equivalent of a foreign affairs official.
- Ambassadors will have some entitlements to claim immunity, though some existing provisions will be tightened in later months.
- All authorities opening up new embassies must declare willingness to potentially retract total immunity when cases are too serious.
