The most major military conflict to date, and really one of the only truly full wars that Enatai has fought was with itself: forces in favor of monarchy, self-sufficiency and the long Enataian tradition of strictly-secure social rights and adherence to the traditional culture fought against the democratic forces that had been both implemented and dominated by what were seen as foreign and pro-foreign interests. Though official records still refer to it as the Enataian Civil War, it is still referred to by some veterans as the name they used for it while in it: The Great Restoration.

In recent years, we have been involved overseas in two wars:

1. the Auftragsreich/Neurepublik War, which was largely averted due to the peacekeeping efforts of the Crozet (regional) Peace Force, in which we played our part.
   
   
2. the Southland Sudan civil war, in which we are playing an ongoing peacekeeping role since the cessation of hostilities.

We haven't fought in any wars but we have had to deal with several "uninvited incursions", mostly by misguided souls who were intent on saving us from communism. There was some shooting involved but, thankfully, no fatalities on either side.

We have also had a couple of "misunderstandings" that nearly resulted in war:

1. the so-called "Maple Syrup War", in which a tanker filled with maple syrup was seized by a group of overzealous fishermen who were apparently trying to protect Fatatatutti's sugar cane industry. A couple of Fatatatutian submarines were involved in the resolution of that crisis.
   
   
2. a frigate was washed ashore in a remote corner of Fatatatutti after a typhoon and considerable tension was generated when a local constable attempted to confiscate the crew's weapons in accordance with Fatatatutian law.

Other than that, we've been good little boys and girls.

The Royal Vueltean Union has only fought in four wars.

The First Civil War: 100 A.D- 107 A.D. Imperial forces defeated Harbitan rebels.
The Second Civil War: 1453-1461. Royal forces defeated by Republican forces. Led to the creation of the Republic of the Vueltean Union.
The Third Civil War: 1672-1702. Loyalist supporters overthrow Republican government and restore the monarch.
The Vueltean Conquista: 1792-1803. Vueltean military conquers three neighboring islands and brings them into the Union.

Seeing as we never had to fight for our Independence... but here we go:

Calphite-Sucrati War (1745 - 1750): Calphite invasion of Sucrati Proper; Sucrati Victory; Monarchy of Calphite merged into Sucrati proper.
Mataliz Rebellion (1845 - 1860): Several Provinces broke off to form own nation and initiated raids against bordering provinces; Sucrati Victory; Rebelling provinces merged back into Sucrati Proper.
Great Wars (1902 - 1912); (1935 - 1943): Sucrati and several other nations form an alliance against Nationalist, Fascist, and Marxist aggressors, said aggressors are defeated both times; International Alliance victory; Aggressor nations forced to change governments and pay up reparations.
Cold War (1945 - 1982): Sucrati and Vercoso build up military forces in an attempt to ward off the other from invading; Vercoso collapses due to economic fragility; Vercoso and Sucrati now have a economic trading agreement. A significant note: Neither nation pursued large scale nuclear weapon programs.

We have been involved in international conflicts up until 2011, however, we have moved more towards a non-interventionist policy of diplomacy and good will. We still maintain a very large defense force though.

We may have had engaged in countless wars, but here's a list of the most prominent and well-known of these conflicts:

Theran-Sauran War (592 BC-590 BC)

The tyrannical state of Thera wished to crush the tiny settlement of Saurus, which was populated by dissidents who had fled the King's oppressive rule. They sent an army to destroy the settlement, but were routed after the settlers had managed to ambush them in a forest north of Saurus. Afterwards, rival city-states came to Saurus' aid, wishing to bring down their hated foe once and for all. The result was that Saurus was able to live on independently and Thera was utterly humiliated.

Tailian Conquests (53 BC-51 BC)

Sauria had been plagued by decades of disastrous wars with neighboring rivals and tribes who had carried out multiple incursions over the centuries. The ineptly organized army barely could hold off these constant attacks as the Republic experienced a severe decline in its prestige. It was at this time that Consul Julius Tailis reformed the Army and led it to victory over its foes, conquering the Mosa Empire and Kingdom of Pterra as well as subjugating the tribes. Julius was hailed as a hero, however, some in the Senate feared his growing power.

First Saurian Civil War (51 BC-45 BC)

Those Senators and Generals fearful of Julius's power led their own private armies against him and each other, struggling for dominance in the weakening Republic. After years of clashes, Julius emerged triumphant and declared himself Dictator-for-Life of the new Saurian Imperium and promised political stability in the wake of decades of chaos that had inflicted the Old Republic. However, he wouldn't remain in power for very long.

Second Saurian Civil War (44 BC-39 BC)

After the assassination of Julius Tailis by political rivals who had managed to stay in the sidelines of the civil war, the country once again fell into civil war as Bruticus Walkerii, Julius's student and top general, waged a personal crusade of vengeance upon the conspirators who had killed his mentor as well as any in the Senate or in the Republic as a whole who actively opposed Tailis' reign. After every single one of Tailis' rivals lay dead, Bruticus became Consul of a reformed Republic and would rule until his death in AD 25.

Unification War (1616-1629)

After John Horridus became President in 1589, he set out building up the army and navy, preparing for the eventuality of the unification of the lands around Reptilia. In 1616, the League of Drakonis, whom had been enemies with the growing Republic for some three hundred years, launched a surprise naval raid at the port city of Mosopolis. This proved to be the opportunity that John had been waiting for and in no time launched offensives against the League. His forces clashed with the League's multinational armies and triumphed in most encounters. One by one, the member states of the League fell to the unstoppable armies of Horridus and his allies. Finally, in 1629, the Saurian, Khazad, and other allied and mercenary forces battled the army of King Arkon II of Drakonia at the Battle of Blacktip Ford which resulted in a Saurian triumph. Humiliated, the King agreed for his state and the other League members to be absorbed into the burgeoning Republic. This was to lead to the founding of Saurisia as it is today.

Napoleonic War (May 1812-September 12, 1812)

During the Napoleonic Wars, the British Empire had sent a small force to establish a colony in an uninhabited (for the most part) region of Reptilia, with the beleaguered French Empire establishing their own colony soon after. Both countries built up their forces over the summer until finally, they clashed in a large battle in the south of the continent. It was then that the Saurisians, who had been keeping an eye on the Europeans for months, sent in a force of 65,000 troops which routed both the British and French from the battlefield, frightened by the appearance of these strange Reptilian creatures. They evacuated their colonies, which were burned to the ground by the Saurisians, and fled back to Europe, thus ending the fourth and final Human Incursion.

First Saurisian Civil War (1860-1868)

With the growing discontent of most of the Mammalian dominated states and territories, the Saurisian government to try to suppress it. However, it blew up into outright war when a group of drunk Saurisian soldiers raped several Mammalian females, leading to outrage and to the states seceding. This led to civil war between the Mammalian secessionists and the Saurisian Federal government, finally resulting in the crushing of the secessionists and the return of those states and territories back under Saurisian control.

Great Furry War (1913-1918)

The assassination of Archon Blaktis, Crown Prince of the United Kingdom of Wyvernia, as well as decades of heightened tension between various states led to outright war. This would prove to be one of the most brutal wars in Saurisian history, as thousands of Saurisian soldiers perished fighting against the armies of its enemies. It would also devastate Saurisia's coffers as the government spent thousands of Dino Dollars building and raising an army to fight multiple fronts, consisting of tens of millions of young males (and in some cases even females) conscripted into the military. That war ended in the Treaty of Wilmington, where the Central Alliance, humiliated and worn down by the superior might of the Talon Pact, surrendered and gave up a significant amount of their power and land to the victorious Pact nations.

Second Civil War (1916-1924)

Before the Great Furry War was even over, Saurisia was ravaged by a second civil war. This was sparked by a surprise coup attempt in Saurus City, attempted by Communist, Socialist, and Anarchist militias, unions, and student groups. The rebellion was crushed, but led to a wider war as left-wing groups all over the nation rose up against the capitalist government. Desperate and with most of its forces overseas, the Federalists fought a defensive war, with private militias, armed citizens, and even mercenaries and police officers who were sent to hold off the Red advance. After the Great Furry War ended, the government was able to move thousands of troops, hardened after years of fighting overseas, to fend off the Communists. This proved to be the turning point as the Reds' offensives were turned back and the government pursued them back to their strongholds. After months of combat, the Reds were finally finished and their leaders captured, where they were tried and executed before a joyous public.

First Nazi Dinosaur War (1938-1947)

Amidst the political turmoil during the recovery from the double-whammy of the Great Furry War and the Second Civil War in the late 1920s and early-to-mid 1930s, several groups which preached a newfound ideology called National Socialism began to be popular in certain sectors of the country. In the late 1930s, they fully took over these areas and seceded from Saurisia, leading to a cruel conflict that lasted nearly a decade. That led to a stalemate in which the government called out a truce, which would last for nearly sixty years.

Summer Revolution (June 7-June 10, 1947)

Amidst the cruel oppression and tyranny of the totalitarian Damon regime, a collection of political groups came together to plot a revolution against the tyrannical dictatorship. Among them arose a young Triceratops couple who had the boldness to lead the effort, Paul and Cera Hayworth. Cera in particular possessed great wisdom beyond her age as well as immense cunning. In early June, they launched their revolution, in which those few troops still loyal to Leonard Damon's cruel regime were soon overrun, leading to the dictator's overthrow and the Hayworths coming to power as Duel Presidents of Saurisia.

Second Nazi Dinosaur War (2001-2006)

Inspired by their humiliating of Saurisia in the first conflict, the secessionist UDR launched a surprise attack against nearby island territories, swiftly conquering them. However, they soon felt the full wrath of the Saurisian military and were swiftly pushed back. After a steady progression of setbacks for the UDR, they were finally destroyed by the Saurisians and all their leaders were captured, tried publicly, and executed.
