In other camps, the era saw a more positive light with its message of social equality but still has met criticism for alternative faith. The period saw counter-movements which aimed to revive Christianity but that is more relevant with the younger generation. It sparked the interest of young people in acculturation or the attempt to seek the universal truths found in philosophy and classical literature that was compatible with the Divine Law. It inadvertently saw the growing interest in Jewish mysticism but also writings of other religious authorities that did not conflict one another. These writings were deemed shehlih or important relics. It also sparked interests with ancient classical works locally such as of Mohism and foreign such as Greco-Roman.
