Worplesdon Factbook

Postby Worplesdon » Sun May 31, 2009 5:24 pm

OOC: So this is where everyone is! I have based my economy on a RL nation of similar size, so I have budgets reflecting this, rather then using NS ones. This is because I do not wish to wait for my economy to grow enough to buy anything. I still mainly use the old forum... Don't like it? don't RP with me.
IC:

Worplesdon Factbook.

The uninhabited islands were discovered and colonized by the Portuguese in the 15th century; Worplesdon subsequently became a trading center for African slaves and later an important resupply stop for whaling and transatlantic shipping. Following independence after 2 years of civil unrest, followed by a further 2 years of civil war in 1764, it became a monach state, the first king being King Alonso. After the civil war, the naition fell silent to the rest of the world, with the monarchy belieiving in a private, protectionist state. King Ben by contrast is begining to open the borders.

Military

DEFLERT

The Defence Alert System (DEFLERT) is a measure of the activation and readiness level of the Kingdom of Worplesdon Armed Forces. It describes progressive postures for use between the Monarch and the heads of military branches. DEFLERTs are matched to the situations of military severity. Standard peacetime protocol is DEFLERT 5, descending in increasingly severe situations. DEFLERT 1 represents expectation of actual imminent attack.

DEFLERT 5: This is the condition used to designate normal peacetime military readiness. An upgrade in military preparedness is typically made by the head of the miltary branches and announced by the Monarch.
DEFLERT 4: This refers to normal, increased intelligence and the heightening of national security measures.
DEFLERT 3: This refers to an increase to force readiness above normal. Radio call signs used by Worplesdon forces change to currently classified call signs.
DEFLERT 2: This refers to a further increase in force readiness just below maximum readiness.
DEFLERT 1: This refers to maximum readiness. It is reserved for imminent or ongoing attack on military forces or territory by a foreign military power.

Kingdoma Spaciel Argmi

Kingdoma Spaciel Argmi (KSA) i the most elite unit in the military, consisting of 96 land army soldiers, and 54 WAF pilots. They are hihghly trained in all forms warfare, all imaginable weapons, all vehicles, and all speak at least 6 languages. They only take command directly from the Head of State, being severely loyal to him. though they count as the army and WAF, they are autonomous. When in battle they wear no insignia, so they can act with less chance of Worplesdon being targeted. The KSA are led by The Council, a commitee of 14 soldiers appointed by the monarch. (12 soldiers & 2 Pilots) each of the 12 soldiers have 7 men under his command, whereas the pilots control 26 other pilots. They are usually the first on the ground, and when the regular army arrive, they take command, with regular commander. They tend to be sent into smaller conflicts, or specialised missions, and are excellent negotiators, acting on behalf of the monach in any situation. each KSA soldier has a squad of 10 regular soldiers under his command.
