Create a state in Generex

Postby Generex » Sat Apr 28, 2012 10:59 am

In my nation, each state has its own independent economic, political, and social system. Since im kind of afraid of making my states politically biased, i've decided to let other people create there own states in generex based on there idealogies so its more realistic. I don't think i'll be able to fill all of the slots with ns states, so I'll try to make some of my own when i get the time.

Here's the state map of Generex:

Image

You can actually create as many as you want, but there are a few rules and guidelines:

1. If you create multiple states, they cannot be exactly the same. They should atleast a bit different in name, system, and even culture if you want to get in depth.

2. #53 is the capital state, so its not available for the taking.

3. Try to avoid making really strange or fantastical states. It is FT though, so alien refuge states are allowed a long with other species in general.

4. If you do make a... unique state than try to put it in one of the smaller territories.

5. Unless you have a good reason for it, please don't make your states directly related to your nation.

6. Note that states cannot be too war mongering, as states aren't allowed to attack other states or countries without permission from the main council. They can be somewhat unstable or aggressive, but not blatantly war mongering.

Name: The Bachalia Economic Zone
Territory Number: 30
Political/Social System: A purely capitalist society, with every organization private, and only the loosest restrictions, to ensure basic human rights. There is an Overseer Council, appointed by the Federal Government, but all amenities and resources (electricity, water, law enforcement, hospitals) are paid for through tolls.
Economic System: See above, an uber-capitalist state.
Relationship to Main Council/Federal Government: A content member of nation, for the most part, although it seems that there is a growing movement to leave the Federation and so become a more truly free Economic Zone.
Bio/Other: Formed as a reaction against the growing socialist trends in much of the nation. Now contributes a large proportion of the nation's GDP, and is highly multicultural. Its extreme capitalist policies have both positive and negative effects. On the upside, the region is a hotbed for innovation, and much of the population is very skilled. On the other hand, in some areas dangerous products are sold freely, what some would call crime is at high levels, and those who do not manage to succeed have no support, unless they migrate out of the state. Fortunately, the rich primarily come into the state, and the poor leave, keeping standards of living at reasonable levels. This does, however, exert a strain on the neighbouring states.

Territory Number: 38
Political/Social System: Mandirist Republic - Republican government with a single, nonpartisan legislative body, informed by the Mandirist civic philosophy and influenced by agrarianism and conservative rural liberalism.
Economic System: Agrarianism. The œconomy is based on agriculture, and landowning farmers make up a majority of the population. The government has some socialistic policies, mostly aimed at helping farmers.
Relationship to Main Council/Federal Government: Generally distrustful
Bio/Other:
Coscivian-speaking. Despite beïng rural in character, the population is highly literate and intellectual. As they don't trust outsiders that don't share their language, heritage, or philosophy, they are distrustful of the Council and of neighbouring states. The people are highly religious, following a syncretic Monotheïstic faith, and the church is an important force in society. Many political views are represented, but all follow a framework of pragmatism and Mandirism.

Alcohol production (Beer & Whiskey) is a major industry, and the locals are more than willing to sell alcohol to citizens of the dry states.

Most accepted, but The Sword and Colia should add names to there states. For now i'll just call them what their creators names are.

Theres a lot more states being created than i even expected  Although i do prefer capitalism, it would be nice to see some communist nations create states to add variety. Thanks everyone :)

The Fights are a single-elimination tournament of one-on-one bouts, fought to first blood without time limits in a stadium constructed for the purpose. Participants fight naked and unarmed, no holds or strikes barred save attacks to the eye. At the end of the tournament, when only one person remains undefeated, that person is crowned Chaner ("hero", the ch is again pronounced as in "loch") and rules Eschaskerd with absolute power until the next Fights, the only laws they are prohibited from changing being those governing the fights themselves.

Economic System: Presently capitalist with some public services including health, education, and law-and-order, but little welfare provision.

Relationship to Main Council/Federal Government: Presently benevolent, as long as the Main Council does not object to how Eschaskerd chooses its leaders.

Bio/Other: Escha Rules Fighting remains the state's most popular sport, with professional leagues and amateur clubs running year-round independently of the main annual tournament, and it being seen in some private, though not state, schools. There is however a vocal minority that consider its commercialisation an affront to the true spirit of the Fights. ERF also faces competition from imported sports.

Despite their passion for combat, Eschasemons (the demonym, meaning "people of blood") are an amicable people; to feel malice towards those who have bettered oneself, or gloat over those one has defeated, is ill-regarded. Their fairly small military spends much of its effort indoctrinating its recruits into the idea that war is to the death. Eschasemons are not especially artistic; they've produced a handful of great authors and musicians during their history, but such individuals are few and far between. They are also at best average at engineering; while interest in pure science is good, developing machines to help oneself is considered almost cheating.

Besides fighting, Echaskerd is known for its distinctive architecture. Their traditions are said to arise from the legendary Chaner Robert, who had held the position through over three decades, beating all challengers. One day Robert went out to practice for the upcoming Fights with his sparring partner, in the edge of a wood planted by Robert's predecessor. As the Sun was setting, Robert's eyes were briefly dazzled by it, and when he swung his punch at what he believed was his partner his fist instead slammed into the bark of a tree, cutting open Robert's knuckles. The tree having done what no person ever could, Robert passed a law that houses were to be built without cutting down the trees used to make them.

Thus, the people did just that. Trees were planted in specific arrangements, and their branches trained to grow in just the right places to form the walls, floors, and roofs of buildings. Not only houses either; the introduction of redwoods enabled the construction of many living skyscrapers topping 90 metres (30 floors), with a handful reaching 50 floors by growing from one set of trees, then setting up irrigation to support a second 'upper deck'. The supertall types are difficult and costly to maintain and since one suffered a catastrophic collapse no more have been built, and with the law having long been repealed the traditional living architecture has been supplanted by more conventional construction in most new building, the knowledge to construct the living buildings being expected to become a dying art in the next few decades.

Impractically, I would prefer (atleast government wise) for something like generex. Than (theoretically), most people could be satisfied.

Very nice entry, SquareDisc. I'll put it as #3. Apologies if its a bit small.

For the most part, the history of generex in my factbook doesn't really matter in relation to what kinds of people live here (Many groups from other nations have migrated here).
