- The Secretariat

The Secretariat for Defence manages the defence and national security of the Republic of Socorra as a governmental department. Established in 1860 as a coalition of Revolutionary militias and ironclad flotillas to protect domestic commerce, it has since evolved into the civilian bureau commanding the Socorran military, the Combined Services, despite historic military insurrection including the 1977 Officers' Coup. The Combined Services' role is Socorra's national defence from both internal and external hostile actors, currently undergoing substantial reforms outlined in Plan 15.
