With both excessive civil rights and political freedoms, the populace would be an unruly one to try and control. Their economy is strong, but they hardly produce anything apart from books.

A simple minded people with a diminished and unremarkable military, their nation would be easy to invade and coerce, however, they would probably benefit the Imperium far better if they were to become a trade partner. They would be easy to take advantage of economically.

Apart from that, this nation barely registers on our radar as an international power. Even with such a large population, their impact on the world is negligible.
