Same as their reaction to any other word. Seriously speaking, though, being popular is not a major achievement that is valued in the TBRE - it leads to potential to abuse. People here prefer other qualities, like intelligence and compassion.

Classrooms in Dyste tend to be fairly small - one teacher usually teaches no more than five children. They tend to become fairly close due to spending anywhere between 10-30 years together, perhaps even more if they choose the same field of work to become an apprentice at 50 years of age. As far as popularity, the most talented students tend to be the most popular, but we try to enforce not having cliques or social standing; after all, Draconids are all equal aside from the Royal Family, and even they do not hold it over the rest of us.
