Breaking News - Government shoot out during a routine meeting have the Nation on high alert! (News Report)

The reporter speaks from behind a makeshift barricade, echoing gunshots are heard from afar and several soldiers are seen in the background rounding up civilians

"In today's story, citizens walking by the military complex holding a confidential meeting fled in panic from the City center today as violence erupted from within the walls of the meeting house. Several eyewitness reports tell of armed combat teams swarming from the nearby bunkers and streets to invade the main meeting building, while other smaller firefights have broke out within the City center itself. One eyewitness recalls the scene". "I don't know what happened, I was walking my dog Max in the park over the road. Then suddenly I heard a gunshot, immediately I hit the ground thinking my life was at stake and realised it came from the Meeting house! Then several shots followed, and then this.. Well you can see it for yourself!" The man points off screen, the camera pitches to several dead and injured soldiers, along with several injured civilians and medical staff. "Near as we can tell, an assassination attempt was suspected and it caused an uproar amongst the officials. We cannot delve any further as we must await from an official response from Authority, as we've yet to receive any word from the Lords. I'm Erin Caern, IBN reporter"

The Kaitan Assassination (The Narrative)

The High Lords of the Imperialis Government entered the meeting house in an orderly fashion, as they've done countless times before. Single file, each Lord entering with their long overcoat, their district insignia emblazoned on a beret with their colours sporting their area of control. A single, armed guard accompanied each member into the room before sheathing their rifle, placing their right fist in the other open, left palm and bowing as they left; Such was the Imperialis creed of respect. The meeting room slowly filled up as each member arrived, one by one they sat in their designated seats in a horseshoe fashion around the main pedestal. The Last to arrive was Deran Kaitus, he was temporarily promoted to Militant Lord due to his General's absence. None knew where the Lord General was, and so Kaitus took his place. After they were all seated, the advisors came second. Dressed in monochrome, black robes carrying a small datapad and earpiece, again the insignia of the district they represented was stitched into their clothing. Kaitus' advisor quickly shuffled over and sat beside him, giving a stern nod, to which Kaitus replied and both set their attentions to the front pedestal.

"Gentlemen, Advisors and High Lords of the Imperialis Legio. We come here to meet over a matter of grave importance".

A coarse, deep voice echoed through the meeting hall. The figure, to whom the voice belonged to stepped out into the light and displayed himself on the pedestal. He looked around at the 15 Lords and their advisors, a keen grin on his face. Kaitus quickly cast a glance at the man, his face set in wrinkles and the callous eyes of a millenium old dictator, gazed back - Lord overseer Eldran Crestenfal, the self proclaimed title he gave himself upon assuming internal control of the government.

"We know not where Lord General Krellan is at the moment in time and can only assume an assassination. This is a time of grievance, my friends."

Crestenfal averted his eyes from the gathering, looking directly towards Kaitus with a sinister smirk creeping across his face. The murmerings of concern spread amongst the officials, and only the omnipresent voice of Cresetanfal himself hushing them in an instant.

"Fear not, gentlemen, for we have a new Lord in our company. General Deran Kaitus, Militant Lord of the Imperialis Legio, come forth and claim your right of Lordship"

Ha! Good riddance to that fool, Krellan. This dumbstruck puppet will be easier to thread along, I can already see his strings illuminating before my eyes.

Whispers became louder and some even erupted into audible shouts. "How dare you forsake our friend so quickly!" "What of the other associates?!" "You can't do such a thin-"

"QUIET!" Crestenfal exclaimed, his voice of power hushing the room oncemore. His fierce, white eyes searching around, his tongue flaring in his mouth and awaiting any fool who would dare face him. "It is in my right of authority that I grant this power to Kaitus, respect such a sermon as this and allow him the grace of this Nation's protection." Kaitus dipped his head politely, he raised to his feet and lingered a moment as he exchanged a look with his advisor, Enoris. He took his steps carefully and slowly, as to assert authority and caution as he aproached the pedestal.

"It is here, that I now appoint you. Deran Kaitus, to the Lordship and power over the Militant arm of the Imperialis Legio to protect us. To fight for us. To die, for us. The Empire Protects"
"The Empire Protects" Follows in unison by all present in the room.

"I thank you, Lord Overseer Crestenfal. I accept the power and responsibility you bestow upon me and swear to Protect, fight and die in service to the Imperialis Legio. The Empire Protects" He bows in the Imperialis way, his breaths become deeper and his heart beat quickens in his chest as he rises.

"Excellent, now be seated so we can continue our work."
"I cannot. Crestenfal" The uproar that usually follows such breach of respect was not heard, silence and shock settled in to all who observed such a defiant act.
"What?! How DARE you undermine my authority!"
"Lord Overseer Crestenfal." Kaitus unsheathed a pistol from underneath his overcoat and aimed it at Crestenfal "By order of the Imperialis Legio, and my right of power as the Militant General of the Imperialis Army, I hereby decree a Dominus Execution for treason of the highest degree. I hereby sign the death warrant of a traitor against our Empire, may you burn in whatever pit you fall to." The words seemed to take a lifetime to reach the minds of all those in the building, even the cold, perverse stare of the Lord Overseer withered away at the sight and words of Kaitus.

Crestenfal had no time to protest, the words reverberated around his brain as though a God had declared righteous death against him, and he knew he wasn't far from the reality. The bullet connected with his forehead and sent blood spewing onto the Imperialis Logo on the wall behind him, the body fell onto the pedestal as a lifeless stump, he turned his pistol to greet everyone who observed. "Blasphemy! You dare decree an oath then murder the Overseer?! TREASON! I DECLARE TREASON!" Medicae Lord Farthing's words were lost to the uproar. "Who put you up to this?! General Krellan no doubt, you're too foolish for such an act!" High Lord Eston exclaimed, again to no avail. All voiced their rage and were silenced by the single, powerful utterance of General Kaitus. "Ask yourselves, who would be so devious as to put me to such a task?" Once again did the deadly silence encapsulate the High Lords, whispers of traitors, alliances and backstabbings floated around. Tensions and old hatred boiled under the skin of all those in the room, all the advisers thumbed their ear piece. The underlying paranoia and suspicions of the High Lords finally arose to the surface, much to Kaitus' expectation; Who merely walked casually back to his desk alongside Enoris, flipping it over and taking cover behind it.

Within a few minutes, squads of armed forces poured into the Meeting hall. Each Lord, surrounded by their privatised soldiers who formed a protective circle around them. Screeches of distrust and years of loathing surfaced as Lord verbally assaulted Lord. Kaitus and Enoris were without protection however, though from behind the desk he removed a combat knife provided to him by Enoris. He carved open the false bottom to reveal a hidden compartment underneath the Desk, he replaced his pistol within his overcoat and removed the assault rifle - Easily slamming a magazine in and loading the chamber under the noise of the meeting hall.

The final moment before the Storm, The Empire will protect.

By this time, guns were raised and many of the "poor" Lords took refuge, either with stronger Lords or behind their desks as Kaitus had. As several intense moments of mental preperation passed, Kaitus listened to the swirling screams of anger and bitterness the enveloped him; it only served to fuel his divine purpose of eradicating such corruption. In what seemed to be a heartbeat, Kaitus raised himself to a firing position on the desk. His military prowess providing him with the speed and efficiency to align his ironsight with one of the guards and squeezing the trigger, only to cower oncemore and discard the assault rifle. One of Farthing's soldiers fell to the floor, his visor shattered from the impact of the bullet, he searched around at the other guards. One of the Lords, damn it. Damn it to hell!. Lord Farthing's soldiers retaliated viciously against whoever they assumed was the assailant; most aimed amongst the other guardsmen, suspecting their rifles to be the cause.

Small firefights immediately broke out as more soldiers rushed in from the complex to defend their Lords, the screaming of gunfire drowned out the screams of the dying as all hell broke loose. Farthing's soldiers dived behind splintered desks and railings as they came under fire from most of the other soldiers, being the more powerful Lord had made him a vital target. One of Farthing's guards quickly gripped Farthing's old, frail body and lunged him over to support him over the guard's back, sprinting towards the nearest exist as the rest provided covering fire. Kaitus and Enoris picked themselves up, after a smoke canister ricocheted towards them and exploded at high velocity. Through the blinding smoke, the two militants choked and coughed as they dropped to all fours and crawled towards the emergency exit, obscured underneath the massacre of the battle. Hours past since the assassination, the meeting house lay bloodstained and desecrated by small arms fire. Most of the High Lords were escorted out, some were killed outright by the carnage, not even with their guards' protection. It was by this time the meeting hall become a battlefield for bloody melee, shock batons and combat knives drew blood and shattered bone as brother fought brother for control, or for their very survival in the savage close combat.

The revolution has begun. The Kaitan rebellion is upon us, I swear that I will see this oppressive regime ended.

Maria Zima Sokolov; LOCATION: Imperialis Legio. AREA: N/A
Mission:
None stated.

Sometimes, things had to be done differently. Behind the backs of those well trusted, behind the backs of people who were dangerous. Things were different now, yet the clear medievalist attitude of many reigned supreme. Zima turned the crisp page of her freshly bought paper, a mug of coffee on the table in front of her, steam rising and the low chatter of the other patrons of the small café filling her ears. As well as the low hum of the TV as it explained the current weather and various other things. She was not interested in either, the TV nor the newspaper; because hidden from sight by the paper was a small laptop, the woman's fingers aptly working the keys. Her face remaining calm and collected, occasionally creasing her eyebrows delicately. Hacking was a difficult business, even for someone who had been doing it most of their life.

Looking up over the rim of her paper, she inspected a man, in his mid-thirties looking her way, though he turned back when he noticed the steely gaze of the blond looking back. Zima was a young woman-27 to be precise- but held herself with high-regard, long fair hair falling down to her shoulders, loose and well kept. Icy blue eyes and a pale complexion giving her an eerie, and yet beautiful appearance. Her eyes fell back onto the laptop screen, typing in a number. She smiled softly and hit enter, hearing the sirens of several vehicles of authority thundering past the café. Closing the lid of the laptop, Zima rose, folded her paper and left it on the table with a tip, giving the man she'd seen a wink and a soft, but deadly smile as she left the establishment and joined the throng of busy people.

News update: Assassination attempt confirmed, Government in chaos.

"Earlier in the week an alleged assassination attempt was suspected to have been carried out in the meeting hall at Meridas city centre. We now have confirmation from Medicae Lord Farthing that the Lord Overseer Crestenfal has been murdered at the ha-" *The broadcast phases out and a video recording of Farthing takes precedence* "Murder, my friends. Murder is what has befallen upon our great Lord Overseer, whom is bold enough for such a task? Kaitus, the foolhardy traitor of the Legion. This is a message to ALL to stand with the true Lords, Kaitus must be stopped before he brings anarchy, chaos, bloodshed to our nation! Heed our calls brothers and sisters. Stamp out this heresy to the Imperialis creed, defy Kaitus and his traitorous ways. The Empire protects those who seek its favour, citizens!" *The transmission is abruptly terminated, resuming the normal news reports*

The mystery donation

Kaitus ducked under the sandbags, ejecting his spent clip and slamming home a fresh one with a speed that would impress most commanders. He knew his skill well, and he'd be damned if he hid in a bunker and let his soldiers die for him. By now the rebellion had indeed begun, only small scale however, with skirmishes happening in secluded locations. One such location as this had Kaitus found himself in. A quiet, lush forest area on the north eastern part of the Legio's borders. Kaitus peered over the sandbags, seeing a few Imperialis soldiers blind firing from behind a large oak tree. Kaitus raised two fingers and tapped his right eyebrow, he proceeded to draw his hand foreward and clench his fist; His soldiers nodded and ran low through the heavy foliage of the forest. His men knew how to fight, upon his command as a Lieutenant he trained his men well, honour and discipline were the few virtues of days gone - When such values were regarded with as much respect as a Lord would be given. The two Rebels leaped from a nearby tree upon the enemy soldiers, one somersaulted into a crouching position and scored three bullet holes in the enemy's chest, felling him quickly. The other retaliated viciously, firing as fast as his semi-automatic rifle could he sent three bullets spilling blood from one of the rebel's shoulder guards - The armour was poor, but these men were hardened warriors. The second of the rebels took an oppertunity, he unsheathed his combat knife and gripped it two handed overhead as he sprang behind the firing traitor, sinking the blade deep within the esophagus and turned it slowly. The stinking smell of blood freshened as the life fluids trickled onto the already stained forest floor. The rebels helped one another back behind the sandbags, Kaitus gripped the wounded man's hand and patted his back "Every wound is but a mark of experience one can learn from, thank you", the man nodded respectfully and was escorted behind the front lines by a medicae officer.

The front lines of the traitors were almost disintegrated by now, the cool, collected discipline of the rebels easily put up resistance. Kaitus removed his detachable scope and fastened it on his rifle, twisting the dial to get a better view of the landscape before his line. "Sir, sir!" Enoris, Kaitus' military advisor sprinted foreward, sliding on his back and hitting hard against the sandbags. "Enoris, have you got the archival data yet?" "No, my Lord, I would need a main hub to access that intel. However something.. Unusual has occured." Kaitus frowned, picking up on Enoris' mixture of weariness and joy "Show me". Enoris unhooked the Laptop from his oversized backpack and loaded it up, Kaitus watched in suprise as they saw their military deposit was almost quadrouple that as what he expected. "Find out who or what put this money in here, how the hell did we even get-" he was lost in sheer confusion at such a large balance. Does the Imperialis vaults even have that much money? It was a secure line. His thoughts came to an abrupt end as Enoris continued "no named source, only the initials "MTA" "Cross reference it with any agency or privatised-" the conversation was cut short as yet more traitors blind fired through the foliage as they formed a loose line behind whatever cover they could find. Kaitus and several other rebels instinctively brought themselves along the sandbags into firing position, Kaitus himself aimed carefully down his scope and quickly pulled the trigger, fracturing the visor in one shot and tearing the flesh in another. The battlefield was too active for him to contemplate such an action, he was thankful that he now had the funding to elongate the rebellion. But he'd be a fool if he dismissed it as anything but suspicious.

"How long until we can mobilize into the city?" "when the reserves arrive from the south, we've recruited quite a large number of soldiers I must say. They are inspired by your words and wisdom, Kaitus". He bowed his head appreciatively and returned to looking at the tactical map "Perhaps, but I must show I will provide more than words if I am to win this rebellion with as little bloodshed as possible, after all, these are our people." "I know, but we must press on if were are to restore order and honour, to both parties. We will respect the dead by carrying out their wishes". Kaitus nodded once more, he looked out from the makeshift bunker and through the foliage of the nearby city. "Let me know when we are ready, I want to be there to lead them to our first victory." "As you wish, my Lord."

Kaitus paced back and forth among the line of troops aligned infront of him, long-sword in one hand and a semi-Automatic pistol in the other. "Soldiers of the Imperialis! Today we begin our first liberation here in Meridas, where the assassination of the traitorous Lord Overseer was carried out!" Screams of cheer and praise for his deed drown out the noise of nearby city life for a moment. "Our mission is three fold. Firstly, we must push quickly and push hard to establish a front line deep enough to set up a forward base within the city walls. Secondly, we must infiltrate a government research estate, only a small team has been selected for this job. And ultimately, we must storm the Militum Aedificium to secure the main military structure and convince Lord Ferren to join us or be executed. The True Empire protects!" "The True Empire protects!" is repeated from the rebels.

The first hours of the battle were smooth, upon the break of dawn the rebels swiftly emerged from foliage of the nearby forest. Quickly and quietly they managed to gun down the first defenders on Meridas' city walls, Ferren never had a large army at his disposal and relied on defensive structures to withstand attacks - A tactic Kaitus himself understood to ensure it would never happen. The sound of gunshots immediately alerted the guards stationed at a pillbox by the main city gate, they hurriedly raced to their gun turret with no such luck; a citizen ran up to them, a sense of panic in her eyes. "Step aside, civilian the blasted rebels are at our gate!" "Th- They are?! Oh my, please let me assist!", the two guardsmen ignored the pathetic help and pushed her aside but she chased on after them. The first guard leapt inside the pillbox and quickly loaded a large magazine into the chamber and cocked it back, the second turned to the frantic lady and gripped her shoulder. "I have no time for this, you idiot we're under attack! Remove yourself at once or be shot". The woman nodded, her worried expression sank into a mischievous grin and she shook her head a little "You have no idea do you? You follow the blind traitorous ways and you do not deserve the chance of life". He attempted to retaliate by bringing the butt of his rifle up to connect with her jaw. The woman had already removed a combat knife from her overcoat, forcefully slammed it against the unprotected portion of his jaw and penetrated his skull. The brain hemmorhaged violently and only his helmet stopped the blood from soaking the concrete, she gently helped the body fall to the floor silently and ran towards the pillbox. She risked a chance to glance at the clocktower behind her Six thirty eight.. Two minutes and counting. By now the guardsman gunner fixed his sights on the approaching rebels and grinned with a sadistic lick of his teeth come you rebel bastards, i'll gun every one of you down. His excitement couldn't contain himself and he quickly began firing on full automatic into the approaching soldiers. Those who could react dived to the ground and began crawling towards cover, several were ripped apart easily by such high caliber rounds and the bodies showered their closest comrades in gore. Such was his downfall, under the covering sounds of gunfire, the 'civilian' gripped the mesh wiring of the pillbox and pulled out her knife in reverse grip and torn the mesh open. She dived through the narrow gap with her slender form and rolled into an effortless crouch, the guardsman became alerted to her presence and laughed heartily as he draw his own knife to meet her's.

The brutish form of the guard overpowered the parries of the woman with every blade stroke, though she could easily dodge his bulky form. He reversed the grip of his hilt and rested the palm of his hand on the hilt as well, lunging it down in a piercing strike - The woman timed herself accordingly, crouching in a heartbeat and readying her elbow, she used her position to push ahead of her and pounced around the side of the guard and slammed her elbow into his back. He dropped his knife as what air he had escaped him, although he recovered quickly it was all she needed. Still with his back to her she sidestepped left as he tried to turn and lunged for his spine, sinking her knife into an exposed portion of his flak jacket and used it as leverage to cling onto him, the guard screamed as muscle and sinew split under the force and he struggled to remove her - After a desperate wrestle for control she managed to wrap her arms around his gargantuan head as the guard flailed himself around to dislodge her. Her entire lower body was thrown about recklessly as she was slammed into crates, walls and weapon racks. The final blow hit when she managed to place her feet on a nearby wall and push herself off it, the force managed to cause the guardsman to stumble towards the crates opposite and she leaned backwards, using her weight to drag him to the floor and, in one swift stroke she took his own knife from beside her and drew it across his neck. Several moments passed and her heartbeat threatened to erupt from her chest with every thud, she killed her first traitors, and it felt good.

The battle for Meridas

Days have passed since the initial invasion of the district's main city and the once impregnable walls have been all but diminished. The rebels managed to establish a base in a large supermarket by the outskirts of the city - The head of the company happily lending it and its provisions to Kaitus and his soldiers, who worked tirelessly to fortify the building. But now the main battle was at hand, the brutal conflict of urban warfare in an attempt to force Lord Ferren's hand in defeat, lest it be taken forcefully.

Enoris sighed and looked up to Kaitus, who rubbed at his short, cropped beard as he gazed at the weather channel. He spun his head to greet Enoris' eyes and tilted his head.
"The Imperialis Network?"
"Aye sir, the general database is inaccessible to Lords without proper permission."
"Is there any way to crack it?"
"Hold on a moment" He swiveled on his chair to another station and swiftly worked at the keys until he pulled up the map of the Ferren District. "Well, it appears there's a Government archival building near the district's military complex. But it's too heavily guarded to storm it"
"Zoom in on the left most wall" The tactical map's display zoomed in upon command and revealed a manhole nearby an emergency escape exit in a narrow alleyway "There's our target"
"Lord, with all due respect but you can't be serious. They've got gun emplacements everywhere!" Kaitus grinned whilst he walked to a nearby gun rack, pulled up a shotgun and loaded fresh shells into the chamber.

"Broadcast the frequency and have them meet me in the cobra battle loadout near the Imperialis national bank on Envus street."
"As you wish, Lord Kaitus, but what of operations on the front lines?"
He grinned, zipped up his flak jacket and turned to Enoris "Well, i've got the best damn tactician in the Imperialis army on my side"

Operation: Hirudo
The torrential downpour was beating down against Kaitus' visor, he smiled to himself. Just as they predicted, least I can still rely on the old, conventional methods of warfare.
"Lord Kaitus, preparations for Operation Hirudo are ready. By your command, sir" The nameless soldier was dressed in a long, dark coloured trench coat worn over a thickened flak jacket; an earpiece and visor secured over the right eye. Each soldier behind Kaitus also wore a similar attire, silenced auto-pistols in one hand and a straight edged blade in the other. They must have totalled to about 25 troopers, hidden underneath the misty haze of the heavy rainfall within a city ruin, opposite an enemy patrol station.

"Soldiers, you know our objective. We shall await the signal from Enoris before mobilizing, the Empire protects"
"The Empire protects" repeated by the soldiers. Five minutes must have passed of pure silence, masked away by the sound of rain. A loud echo broke the silence as a large explosion rallied the attention of the traitor guards looked down the end of the road that they were stationed on.
"That's it! Go go go!"
The troopers unsheathed their blades and raised them in the air along with a glorious roar, they rushed with a speed and grace of a veterans. The first soldier dived into a forward roll towards his enemy, dropping his pistol for a moment and drove his katana two handed upwards to rend the soldier from crotch to stomach; he fell to the floor with a blood curdling scream that alerted all others nearby. A second soldier hopped left, dodging an approaching bayonet and slammed her elbow in the traitor's back, finshing him off with a swift shot to the rear of the head. The troopers fought in close combat with a true indication of power, the enemy Lieutenant watched in horror as his primitive station was overrun with rebel troopers. Lieutenant Alnin readied his rifle and fired aimlessly into the crowd infront, two fell - Though in such hazy conditions it was uncertain who, or if they actually died.
"Stop, stop I surrender! For the love of the Imperialis stop!" the Lieutenant dropped his rifle and backed towards the door of a debris strewn house, his surviving comrades followed.
"I.. I can give you intel, I swear.. I know things!"
Kaitus shook his head "Do you think me a fool? As the Lord of an Army I know anything of value will not be held safe by you."
"No! That's not true! F.. Ferren told-Gyah!" his words were cut short as a sharp object ripped through his throat, the blade belonging to a trooper. As Alnin fell to the floor, the figure of a woman in filthy civilian clothing and a primitive mask removed the blade and looked around the rebels, she wiped a soaked portion of her hair behind her ear and cleared her throat.
"I saw it from the rooftop, they have a tank hunter hiding in that house." Suddenly, a trooper slammed her back against the wall and sheathed her pistol, gripped the katana two handed and cleaved it around and into the door way; blood and screaming followed. Kaitus approached the masked lady and bowed in the Imperialis way "thank you kindly, but I thought all civilians were evacuated days ago"
"What makes you think i'm a civilian?" she grinned under the mask, resting her fist against her hip and wiping the katana on a nearby corpse. "Your assistance is appreciated anyway, but please allow let me get you to our-"
"I'm not going to run away from this, I'm not going to sit by and let people fight for me, nor am I willing to take no as an answer. Even if I will die, it's worth the risk." Kaitus sighed, his eyes lingered over the woman for a moment and then he nodded. ".. From the wall, aren't you?"
"A story for another time, my Lord, let's finish off this mission shall we?"

The troopers separated into four groups of five, and one of seven; the latter also having the lady and Kaitus in. A trooper lay prone on a nearby roof from the compound and pulled up her binoculars, she thumbed a button on her headset: "5 anti personnel turrets, 30 or so guards and 2 APCs. No snipers or spotters"
"Excellent, just make enough distraction but keep your head down. Mission priority is NOT to fight, retreat is a must if you come under heavy fire."
"Received, firing at will. Tertius squad out." Kaitus paced his breathing and climbed up the ladder, rested his hand on the manhole cover and waited. The sound of retaliation screeched against that of a single sniper shot, immediately drowning out rebel gunfire. Kaitus pushed upwards and forced the cover open and crawled out. The other troopers followed him and formed a defensive perimeter around their Lord, pistols and blades on standby as he rigged the door to a satchel charge. After a few moments of deft wiring he set the charge and the group fled down the alley way to await the explosion. Kaitus spoke into his headset, "secundus squad, initiate". Moments before the satchel charge detonated, the second trooper squad began hurling shrapnel grenades from another rooftop onto the compound.
"Rebel grenadiers, seek cover you blasted fools. NOW!" bellowed the Lieutenant as he himself ran behind the barricades of the front entrance. The satchel charge exploded, taking the door clean off its hinges and filling the interior with smoke. "Primus, MOVE IN!" the troopers stormed through and the front most troopers attacked with blade and pistol. One fell in the beginning onslaught and the other managed to wound a trooper, Kaitus grabbed her shoulder guard and dragged her behind the covering fire of the other troopers. "First soldiers down Quartus and Quintus squads move in and fan out. Use caution and stay on target", the two squad leaders voiced in a reply and began sweeping the building. The civilian picked up a rifle from a dead guard and checked the magazine before clearing her throat "It should be in the basement, it's safer fro-" "From bombardment", replied Kaitus. Primus squad set off navigating the compound's underbelly, the close corridors and sharp turns made navigation tricky, but simple for combat. The two troopers at the front held their Katanas two handed and at a slight crouch as they moved forward, two others behind them with pistols drawn, the remainder checked the rear and side rooms when they passed. Resistance down here was minimal, mostly filled with panicking government personnel armed with a pistol at best. Half an hour passed as the sound of heavy caliber weaponry grew quieter, Tertius squad leader voiced in "Tertius and Secundus making a tactical withdrawal, thirteen reported injures and five casualties." Kaitus dashed into a room and pumped his shotgun, shelling the closest target in a mess of shrapnel and flesh. The guard took and and scored a shot on Kaitus who recoiled at the force of the impact; the civilian strafed into the room, firing in a burst until the assailant's lifeless body fought back no more. Kaitus slid a shell into his shotgun and scanned the room. "Over there, server control room", the lady pointed to the end of the hall and lightly pushed past the troopers and headed towards it. She removed a small, handheld device and forced its external port into the door's keypad. Kaitus watched in amazement as she spliced the code and followed her in. The other troopers drew their pistols and covered each corridor, some coming under fire from stray soldiers. Their advanced training and skill easily kept attackers at bay, long enough for Kaitus and the woman to retrieve the data.

The lady smiled as she removed the drive and handed it to Kaitus, who watched with amazement. "Wow, that was impressive"
"Aye, you pick a few things up when under oppression huh? Now let's go, they'll probably overrun us soon." Kaitus nodded and signalled for all squads to regroup. The remainder of the troopers managed to reclaim an APC along with a few rifles, they provided covering fire as the rebels ran hastily into the APC's confines. Not even the turrets of the compound could penetrate the thickened plating of Imperialis APCs. She can hack, fight and knew Imperialis system codes... She's not just a rebel. There has to be more.

Zima; LOCATION: Imperialis Legio. AREA: N/A
Mission:
Infiltration.
Sabotage.
Assassinate.

Despite the fact most of the civilians within Meridas had been evacuated. Zima, remained. Though this time she was not reading a newspaper and enjoying a cup of coffee, she was pushing bullets into a clip one by one. Having sat herself on the counter-top of the deserted Café, the femme-fatal looked up and then back over her shoulder in response to a voice. "Deniska has located five prime targets Tovarishch Zima, we should aim to eliminate these before moving onto the high values. The war efforts otherwise, will be halted." a man spoke his face covered by a grey half-mask, a metal piece that covered his entire lower head, a tube running down and up over his shoulder. To anyone outside of the conversation, all that would be heard was silence. Another two entered from the kitchen, both wearing an identical mask, all three were dark haired and cropped, mid-height and probably in their early thirties. Each one held a nasty looking Assault rifle.

Zima nodded to the one who had spoken, before dismissing him with a flick of her hand, jumping down from her perch. She made her way around the counter to the two who had approached. Both of which inclined their heads curtly before the one on the left spoke; "Tovarishch, Imperialis troops have been sighted heading towards our direction, checking the buildings as they go. It will only be a matter of time before they discover our operation-" the man was cut off by the one on the right, who took a step forward, his voice not as deep, evidently younger.
"An APC has also been sighted, we suspect Imperalis, as it has no indication of being Rebel... My Tovarishch Zima." the man added, after being elbowed by his comrade. Zima noted both the men and turned to the front entrance of the establishment. Almost zero cover, the majority of the firing zone would be made of glass and thin tables. Leaving them in a rather precarious situation.
"Prime the charges, we will meet them."
"Yes Tovarishch Zima" the two men once again inclined their heads and the older male issued commands to the other five, identically dressed men in the kitchen of the Café. Zima merely slid the clip into her automatic pistol and cocked it, lifting her mask up over her mouth and nose, feeling the rush of cold, purified air run down into her lungs.

Minutes passed and the charges had been primed under the tables. The eight of them all crouched behind the counter. Zima eyed the one who'd previously spoken to her, who held a detonator in his hand. In the ears of all present, a count down had started.

"3... 2... 1... Engage, APC inbound!"

Upon the count-down finish, charges detonated beneath all the tables in the Café just as four Imperialis soldiers entered, expelling a thick cloud of white dust in every direction and shattering the windows, disorientating the men inside and outside of the café, before any of them could even think about what had just happened. A spark ignited the phosphorous cloud and caused a booming explosion of licking flames. Scorching the café interior and blasting the three troops all the way across the road. The other four outside dropped simultaneously to a clean sniper shot to the skull. Zima and her men remained low, their white and grey leather military grade, hooded coats and fire-proof clothing beneath keeping them from harm. The masks on their faces allowing them to breath. After the crackling of fire subsided, all was silent. Eight of them inside of the café, five snipers on the roofs and a team of two anti-tank squads positioned in the flanking apartment complex. The APC wasn't going anywhere.

"Targets eliminated, holding."

The APC managed to leave the compound easily, the chaos of the attack helped get the vehicle out of there without the required checking procedures. The main road from which the troopers set off down was tranquil. They were behind enemy lines and the fighting and soldiers were few and far between, still, a sight worried Kaitus and the rest of the group - An explosion rocked the very foundations of a café near the APC, only the mere sight of blackened fumes and scorched bodies of the traitors put the whole team on guard.

What the hell?! No one in this district was authorised with ordinance... Mercenaries perhaps, contraband? He shook his head clear of such thoughts and gestured for the driver to slow to a stop, he turned back to the seated troopers and ordered them to pick up their weapons and be on guard.
"I don't know what the hell that was, but stay alert. We have four dead traitors and questions to answer."
"My lord, may I check the surroundings?" Kaitus looked back at the civilian with a confused expression, but he agreed and stepped aside, the woman shuffled down the cramped APC and peered over the driver's shoulder at the various screens.
"The building on the left, I can get a good sight of whoever's in the café from here." Kaitus looked ready to protest, but knew the lady wanted to assist and he agreed.
"Alright, but be careful okay? Who knows what weaponry or side they may be on." She nodded and took one of the earpieces offered by a trooper and bowed in thanks. "Empire protect, miss", she smiled gently and saluted back as she dragged open the rear door and forward rolled outside, quickly forced herself to a stop and leapt inside the shattered window of a grocery store.
"*Crrzzk* Do you see anything, miss?"
"I see, what appear to be renegades, definately not of Imperialis' citizens" She hesitated another glance around the wall into the Café "They seem to be taking orders from a woman, speaking in a strange language, look organised and in uniform". The group in the APC were silent for a moment, who knew what weaponry they could have mustered, and what side did they join?

Uniform, organisation, infiltrating behind enemy lines. This is a squad from outside the Imperialis, for sure, but what is their purpose? He bit his lip and pondered his actions, still, they eliminated those Imperialis. Diplomacy before war, as Krellan would say. Kaitus picked up the transceiver and cleared his throat.

The speakers bellowed Kaitus' words from the APC with a stern, collected and calm voice "In the name of Militant Lord Kaitus, exit the café slowly and identify yourselves. We seek a cease fire, I repeat, we seek a cease fire." Kaitus gently rested the transceiver back in its cradle and un-holstered his pistol, and glared at the screens anxiously.

Inside the café, the eight soldiers stood anxiously. The APC hadn't opened fire and other than one lone civilian, no one else had exited the vehicle. So it didn't really makes sense wasting ammunition. Though when the voice resounded from the personal carrier, Zima couldn't help but look surprised. “That was easy.” she said simply, before motioning to the men to exit the building and ordering the snipers to remain wary.

Walking out after the eight Prizraki agents she ruled, Zima stood in the middle of the road. Looking down towards the APC with her soldiers aimed and at the ready, able to see the AT guys in the building straight ahead. “Exit your vehicle Lord Kaitus, we are not here to fight.” Zima shouted, her voice laced with a heavy Russian accent, the words almost clumsy when exiting her mouth, she could hear the men behind her cocking their guns, aiming down the sights and ready to run to the sides if anything went wrong. Zima simply stood, arms folded, mask in place giving her voice an odd metallic sound.

Kaitus watched the foreign soldiers form in front of the APC and knew they had a good standard of training, it was both inspiring and worrying. He gave the order and the troopers picked up their blades and pistols, filing out the APC in pairs, one either side until they formed a line in front - The civilian still watching from the ruined block. Kaitus stepped down warily and walked in front of his troopers, his shotgun was tight in his grip but hung low - As did the other troopers, he'd rather not show hostility to such soldiers.

"You are not from these lands, that I know. But tell me, if you are not here to fight, what are you here for? This rebellion was taken under oath of myself and those of the Imperialis who take up the mantle of revolution, so my question is this: Who are you, and why do you come to Imperialis territory, foreign military should hardly be interested in such a war stricken country such as this." Although his words were clear cut and stern, a sense of intrigue and anxiety undercut his pitch - The entire nation's bubble-like status has rendered foreign Intel nothing more than "That landmass of people over there" or "That odd ship in the ocean", thus any attempt of determining her land of origin was beyond him.

Still, with such an obvious elite squadron, he was at least flattered that such elites of a possibly stronger power were assisting the war effort; regardless of what side. It was a sign of change, a sign of the bubble-shattering revolution. Kaitus couldn't help but smile gently as he awaited a reply, change was truly being realised, just as he and Krellan hoped for.

Zima; LOCATION: Imperialis Legio. AREA: N/A

Negotiation...?

Zima couldn't help but grin beneath the gas-mask, looking over her shoulder, she motioned for them to lower their weapons, then waved a signal past Kaitus and then to her right, five snipers becoming visible over the edge of the building, eyeing the retinue below curiously. Each of the soldiers wore the same outfit, a grey leather coat with fur around the edges, a darker grey bullet proof vest with pockets for ammo and supplies and pair of combat cargo pants, shades of grey, white and black accompanied by black knee high leather boots. Only Zima seemed to not follow the dress code, apart from the coat, she wore a rather tight white and grey military jumpsuit. Striding purposefully across to Kaitus, the woman held out her hand and introduced herself. "I am Zimnyaya Noch and these are my Prizraki. Our purpose here is assassination and infiltration because my higher ups see your country as a valuable asset."

Having explained herself, she shook Kaitus' hand firmly and then folded her arms, her men behind her had taken to talking amongst themselves, some even having sat down to count their ammo and supplies with their comrades. Due to the fact when Zima introduced herself, there was no threat remaining. To give Kaitus more ease of mind, she lowered the mask from her face, her features beautiful and yet stern, in control and stoic. A real military leader. "We have been searching for you, hence the diversion in hopes you'd stop. If not..." Zima motioned behind the man at the building down the road, where two figures stood smoking with RPG's slung across their backs. "... As you can imagine we are glad you did indeed stop and not show any hostility, we'd hate to waste ammo." she said, followed by a few chuckles from the Prizraki agents behind her. Zima rolled her eyes and turned harshly, clapping once and spit-firing orders at the men, who jumped up from their casual poses and saluted, before jogging off in pairs to secure the perimeter, even if there was nothing that could catch them by surprise. "We have been ordered to follow under your command until told otherwise, twenty six of us in total. So I'd appreciate it if you would call your scout or sniper off."

Kaitus responded positively to the greeting and bowed in the Imperialis creed, offering his thanks. He cleared his throat and eyed the uniforms and Prizraki soldiers:

"Thank you for your much needed assistance, Zimnaya, although i'm curious as to what this "valuable asset" is. However we are behind enemy lines, I suggest we relocate to a more safer place-" His words were cut short when a radio frequency pitched in, Kaitus pushed in his ear piece and scanned the vicinity carefully as he heard the broadcast:

*Crrzzk* This is the Imperetor of the fourth battalion, Eston District, broadcasting on frequency one-two-zero-five. We've breached the southern wall and are proceeding to sweep across the city, any nearby squad captains respond."

Kaitus grinned, the reinforcements from the south have arrived, and in force it seemed, he turned to Zima and excused himself.

"This is Lord Kaitus, responding on frequency one-two-zero-five. Continue a sweeping advance towards the North-Western front and meet up with the rebel frontlines, any commanding officers respond on channel one-two-zero-eight. Use your third grade digit to radio in." After a few brief moments a few voices signed in over the frequency.

"This is Legionnaire Dranus, fourth battalion II - three hundred strong plus rebel assistance. Reporting in"
"This is Legionnaire Enkus, fourth battalion IV - two hundred and thirteen strong. Reporting in"
"This is Legionnaire Leadron, fourth battalion XI - eighty five strong plus rebel assistance. Reporting in."

"Excellent, welcome to the Ferren district gentlemen. Radio in frequency one-two-zero-six to request personal tactical data from advisor Enoris, battalion II join the rebel forces to the eastern front and assist in suppression fire. Battalion IV proceed to breach the southern reach of the district and push on, be advised anti-personnel turrets are in use. I repeat, anti-personnel turrets are in use, proceed with extreme caution. fourth battalion IX, divide into two fourty-man teams and seperate to assist both flanks. Legionnaire Leadron, send the remaining five back to command point Primus. All Legionnaires are to receive necessary information from Advisor Enoris and relay it to the battalions before requesting transport to command point Primus. We have some new allies in this conflict and I require your personal attention. Kaitus out, Empire protect you."

"Empire protects" radio'd back from the Legionnaires before signing out. Kaitus turned back to Zima and smiled.

"First order of business is to relocate back to our primary base, I suggest we walk on foot seeing as we are now many." He pressed the button on his earpiece a final time "Enoris, we're returning allies, twenty-six additional soldiers. Allocate them as friendly and oversee our return home safely, advisor."

"As you wish, Kaitus. Empire protect you."

Zima had noted the Lords way of command and she had to admit, it was rather impressive for a lowly rebellion, behind her, fifteen Prizraki stood to attention, five snipers, two AT personnel and the eight assault. Once Kaitus had finished issuing his orders, what sounded like an attack, she saluted and so did the rest of the Prizraki agents. "Lord Kaitus the other ten of my retinue will meet us halfway, though may I suggest taking the vehicle, we have our own to accompany you." she said, waving a hand behind her and standing, hands on her hips as her men ran off into the buildings, evidently around the back and into the alley ways, where the sound of engines starting echoed. Moments later three Jeeps equipped with HMG's rolled around the corner, coming to a halt as the Prizraki boarded the vehicles in three groups of five. Zima simply raised an eyebrow, hearing her men cock the machinegun's and rattle the ammo strips.

Kaitus watched the elusive lady and her soldiers as they boarded their vehicles and awaited the APC to take charge. The civilian grinned softly as she walked over to Kaitus' side.

"Troopers, back in the APC. I want one of you manning the turret and four more at the fire ports, we've still got pockets of resistance from here to central command. Our main priority is to escort those vehicles back to base and assist any rebels pushing towards the front lines, move out!"

The echoes of acknowledgement from his troops followed and they filed in to the APC, in pairs again in the usual methodical way. One of the troopers mounted the gun with the others picked up the standard Imperialis rifles on the gun racks inside and positioned themselves at the fire ports, Kaitus and the civilian stared at each other as they drove on.

The ride went on easily for the first twenty minutes, whatever traitors were left either let their seemingly allied APC pass easily; others retaliated, only to be cut down by the combined fire of the Prizraki jeeps and Imperialis APC's mounted weaponry. Meanwhile the two spoke as Kaitus kept watch over the battlefield from the driver's screens.

"Ever been in the military? You fight with an Imperialis style of training."
"Nope."
"Hrm, I shall remain skeptical of that. How else would you have been taught to fight, part of the military?"
"Nope."
Kaitus sighed, he turned to look in the APC and at the lady "Well, could I at least get your name so I can properly thank you?"
"Ellin, Ellin Krellen" The lady smiled and simply turned away from Kaitus' shocked gaze.
"N- No you're lying, Ellin was killed in the off-shore explosion of the Northern military front.. I read the article!"
"You did? Oh excellent, seems we were as convincing as we hoped to be then"

Lord Krellen had a daughter, yes. I'd seen it once or twice in his Imperialis records, but she died in the explosion. Military exercise or something, though I never found an official document. And then it struck him, in the old Military Codex of the Imperialis Legio "Militant Lord has the authority to maintain confidential information from both the Government, public, media and High Lords in favour of national security" Of course it made sense, Krellen staged the explosion as a military mishap so he could withold information. He must have kept her on Ordo Militum Island. Of course, her training. Damn that Krellen was smarter than he ever let on. Kaitus turned back to the lady, they silently acknowledged her statement as Ellin.

"Welcome aboard, lady Ellin. I'm sorry about your fa-"
"Don't. He knew what he had to do and knew he had to take his own life to give you a chance for this, i'm also here to make sure you don't fuck it up. Eh?" She winked slyly, to which Kaitus nodded slowly - Still humbled by Lord Krellen's determination.

"Anyway we'll be there shortly. Wanna update me on the situation here or what?"
"Certainly.." As the ride continued, Kaitus informed Ellin of what she had missed and how he killed Crestenfal, along with everything that led to this point; as did she tell Kaitus of her own upbringing after her alleged death.

About fifty-three minutes passed and they finally reached command point Primus, by now it was worthy of being called a command base. LMG's and APCs from other districts, sandbags and reinforced metal sheets coated the once glass windows of the supermarket. Several computers, machines and weapon racks littered the place - At the foremost of them lay Enoris, in Kaitus' absence he'd become a true tactician; Directing the other personnel and radio'd through countless frequencies. As Kaitus, his troopers and the Prizraki entered the complex he greeted Enoris in the Imperialis way.

"We've broken the eastern front already I hear."
"We did indeed, those additional reinforcements greatly assisted in pushing the eastern front back to Meridas' city center."
"Excellent work Enoris, and it seems we've also had assistance from two other additions as well."
"Oh?" Enoris flipped away his optical lens and looked about the Prizraki but immediately spotted Ellin. "My dear, you're safe!" He scurried over and embraced her, she giggled in his arms and smiled warmly
"Heh, seems you're still the lovable ol' man Krellen raised eh? He never could break your compassion"
"Well my passion is the people, and they are indeed still alive, as am I."
"I thought as much, it's good to be back. Advisor" She bowed in the Imperialis Creed and so did he, then turned to Kaitus and Zima.
"And whom is this lovely lady and her associates?"
"This is lady Zimnaya, she has been sent to assist us in the rebellion and help with the stability of the nation."
"Well, 'tis a pleasure to meet you and your comrade, my lady. Feel free to speak with the personnel and get relevant tactical information of the city map. Now, Kaitus, were you successful in your mission?"
"Indeed we were, with the help of Ellin here we managed to get what we needed." Kaitus gestured for Enoris and Ellin to accompany him to the old stockroom, now renovated to house several monitors and machines.

Ellin inserted the data slab into the port and Enoris decrypted the data with a relative ease, in much a similiar style of Ellin herself...

Kaitus frowned, he scanned over the screen several times, coming to the same conclusion. "Farthing must have shut himself in, even from national data"
"That's a bad tactic, Kaitus. We can systematically destroy his allegiances with no repercussions. But still, there's only ten battalions to deal with. Minus the one being destroyed in Ferren. Minus about twenty-five percent from fourth battalion."

"Still. I dislike having to destroy ten battalions of my own soldiers." Kaitus sighed and rubbed his rugged beard, turning to Ellin.
"This this all we got? I thought you downloaded a fair amount."
"I did, you just gotta put it on a neutral database. They wouldn't be as stupid as to let sensetive information work on an Imperialis OS. Use a neutral computer"
Enoris took out the data slab and inserted it into his private laptop, booting it from a non-military OS and inspected the first file on the data slab.

Current High Lords
Medical - Medicae Lord Farthing
Economical - Tributum Lord Eston
Military - Militant Lord Krellen
Administration - Admin Lord Aster
Mechanicus Lord Eroniaeus

Current District Lords
District One: Lord Overseer Crestenfal // Lord Farthing
District Two: Lord Ferren

District Four: Lord Kain
District Five: Lord Laronsus
District Six: Lord Eliphor
District Seven: Lord Rensus
District Eight: Lord Marentus
District Nine: Warrior-Lord Zarentoso
District Ten: Lord Arrelias

The three looked over the current data, they were currently fighting in District two; Or "Ferren District" as it was commonly known.
"We must Await the Legionnaires of the Fourth battalion to arrive and then we will discuss our next strategy." He spoke as though distracted by something on screen, he tapped three times on a particular name. Warrior-Lord Zarentoso.. I'll keep that name in mind.

The three Legionnaires reported into command point Primus and bowed in the Imperialis way.

"We got here as fast as we could my lord. Your orders?" Asked Legionnaire Dranus.
"We're preparing for the final invasion, it requires all your attention"
"The Eastern front is ours, the push to the south towards Meridas has grinded to a halt." Enoris interrupted as he scanned past various terminals and tactical maps.
"Why is that?"
"They positioned most of their heavy support there, in your absence I managed to scout the eastern sector and found it barely defended."
"Excellent work, Enoris." Kaitus turned to the Prizraki and Legionnaires, along with all the administration staff.

"Soldiers, today we will push on through into Meridas and take Ferren by force. He will be executed for treason and plans will begin immediately to surround the capital, Legionnaires join your battalions and join the Eastern front. Zima and the troopers will accompany me to the south, we could use your RPGs. Enoris, you're more updated about the tactical situation here, I will leave the orders of this invasion to you. I must assist with the southern front. Empire protect, soldiers." Kaitus bowed oncemore and headed to the nearest weapon rack to gear up, his troopers refreshed their equipment and supplies and followed to the APC.

Enoris sighed, he was a military genius, but lacked the authority of Kaitus and his tone weakened over the military radio frequencies. He snapped his Opti-Lens back over his right eye and walked over to the main terminal, displaying the satalite view. "Kaitus and the Imperators of the second and fourth Battalion, respond on frequency One-three-four-eight, please. Use your second grade digit to radio in"
"This is Imperator of the second Battalion, signing in"
"This is imperator of the fourth battalion, signing in"
"This is Lord Kaitus, signing in"

"Second Imperator, maintain focus fire on the main complex entrance, the more they're suppressed the easier it will be; casualties are NOT a priority. Understood?" Enoris used his index finger and thumb to zoom in the tactical map, he tapped on the 2nd Battalion interface and dragged his finger across - Detailing the line of movement towards the military fortification, the tactical data was sent to all optical-uplinks given to the commanders.
"Tactical display received, advisor. Moving to provide suppression fire, avoiding casualties"

"Fourth Imperator, maintaining your position is an absolute priority. There are approximately... Eighteen gun emplacements situated in the designated areas" Enoris dragged the map across and located the gun turrets, double tapped on the locations and selected the Fourth battalion interface.
"Keep out of concentrated fire until support arrives. Then push through when gun turrets are no longer a threat."
"Locations received and distributed, we'll keep entrenched."

"Kaitus, mobilise the Prizraki and troopers towards the designated area" Oncemore he dragged the map towards the bank Kaitus had grouped at earlier in the battle, sending the relevant co-ordinates. "Your priority is to distribute the Prizraki RPGs around the buildings to get clear sign of the gun turrets, the troopers should proceed through these four buildings towards the bunker three blocks north of the bank, it has minimal risk of enemy fire and should get you close enough for melee combat. Be advised, smoke grenades should be used. I repeat, smoke grenades should be used."
"Understood, Enoris. Keep a tracer on the troopers and myself, the assault on the east may force some soldiers to retreat southwards to fortify the area."
"Received, i'll get one of the admin staff to track your progress."
"Thank you, Kaitus out."

Ferren District overview:
1200 hours, Prizraki forces successfully removed enemy gun turrets and allowed the advancement of the fourth battalion onto the doorstep of Meridas' military complex.
1357 hours, Kaitus and the troopers succesfully intercepted a military convoy en route to Meridas and reclaim weapons and supplies for the southern frontlines.
1400 hours, Eastern frontlines hesitated under enemy fire and were forced to fall back, resulting in enemy forces distributing to enforce the northern front.
1745 hours, Intercept--4-r'#]4from0#-09ERROR~}ARCHIVALREMOVE//PROCESSING//

Kaitus pulled the trigger, the scream of a dying traitor echoed in the city center ensured a kill. *Crrzk..* What the hell was that? He thumbed the radio button on his earpiece "This is Lord Kaitus, anyone else receiving static over frequency zero-five-five-five?" A number of troops radio'd back, all denying any claims of static. *Crrzk.. Ka-..L..*Crrzk* L.. Lord Kaitus, do you read?" Panic washed over him as his eyes searched over his fellow troopers for anyone who may have heard the voice; yet none seemed to hear it.

"Lord Kaitus, this is an intercepted private frequency. Mechanicus Lord Eroniaeus, I request you stay in position until exactly 1745 hours. Am I clear?"
"Lord.. Mechanicus Lord Eroniaeus? How di-"
"Nevermind that, okay? Sit tight and hold fast. I'll be at the frontlines in about two hours, stay where you are and observe the concrete wall exactly fourthy-five degrees from the truck you're hidden behind."
"Got it, Kaitus out." He looked at his watch, 1738... So in seven minutes, and ye's coming to the battlefield? I thought he never made any off-shore contact unless absolutely necessary.. Still, he seems eager to help. I never even considered his side in this conflict, I best be wary.

1745 hours, Intercepted call announced the explosion of the major concrete wall defending the Meridas military complex. Causing several hunderd tonnes of concrete to collapse from the walls.

1830 hours, inclusion of Mechanicus warriors and unidentified soldiers assisted in forcing the enemy into the complex for a desperate last stand.

1913 hours, more explosions bordering the Meridas complex brought the final walls to a collapse, leading to a surrender of the fifth battalion survivors.
1920 hours, Elite troopers proceeding to infiltrate Ferren house... Stand by.

"This is Mechanicus Lord Eroniaeus, breaching successful, obviously. Proceed inside unhindered but watch for shotgun soldiers and trip wires, chaff grenades issued to Mechanicus personnel will scout first."

The Primus squad of the troopers and Mechanicus warriors formed up in the courtroom, aiming at all possible entrances. "Court room secure, Kaitus, proceeding to neutralize all security measures and identify possible trip wires." Some of the Mechanicus warriors sat on the floor, opening their laptops and tapping away at the keys - Others racked their shotguns and readied a chaff grenade and ran off into the many hallways.

"Troopers, split up and escort the warriors to their targets safely."
"As you wish, Lord Kaitus" Replied the troopers, then headed off, leaving Kaitus and the hackers in the courtroom."

I have never seen Mechanicus soldiers before, not even knew they existed. But so far they managed to shut down most of their power grid and neautralise their auxiliary generator.. Who knows what else they're up to. Kaitus snapped out of his thoughts and reloaded his own shotgun to move out before being stopped.

"Wait! Turn to face the Imperialis crest and aim three inches below your eye level"
"Bu-"
"Please do so, our intel is never wrong."

Kaitus sighed, but knew not to insult their capabilities or their temperament. Slowly he walked towards the crest and assumed the required firing position, shaking his head at how pointless this seemed.

"Restarting auxiliary power now. Hacking Ferren panel console now and bringing up the lift"
".. Lift?" Wispered Kaitus, as the Imperialis logo split apart - A lift carrying a rather worried Ferren and two Custodes guards. Kaitus gave no respite, he immediately fired the first slug, impacting in the first of the guards who recoiled against the wall, the vest reducing most of the shrapnel damage. The second aimed the rifle at Kaitus and fired in a three shot burst, tearing bullet wounds an inch from his collar bone vertically. Kaitus growled in pain as blood spurted from the open bullet holes, his nervous system flooded his body with adrenaline; in a surge of renewed vigor he racked the shotgun again and fired from the hip, blasting small chunks of flesh from the second guard and sending him to the floor. Kaitus raced over and gripped the first soldier, removing his auto pistol and smashed the pistol grip against his visor until it shattered under such brutality - Kaitus spun his pistol back into his grip and shot a clean hole through the guard's temple. The second guard rose to his feet, unsheathing his shock baton and clutching his exposed ribcage with his other hand. "I die in Ferren's name!" Yelled the guard as he took the first swing, Kaitus threw his pistol at the guard and ducked under the swipe. In his crouching position, he leaped forward and drove the guard to slam against the wall oppsite. In a blind rage Kaitus began throwing fist upon fist against the guard's cowering body, with each rising fist, came more blood as it prepared to land again. "You traitor, you BLASTED TRAITOR.. Join Crestenfal's rotting corpse where you belong!" Ferren, who had been frozen in shock since being caught off guard, finally came to his senses and scrambled for the pistol on the floor. Kaitus swiftly threw back his elbow, the sound of cracked sinew and blood spatter preceeded a howl of pain. Ferren clutched his blood draped nose and shook violently as he tried to keep conscious from the threat of heavy blood loss.

"Lord Ferren of district five. As my right as Militant Lord of the Imperialis Army, I hereby decree a Dominus execution. I hereby sign the death warrant of a traitor to the highest degree. May your blind oppression be payed for by the blood of you and your soldiers." Kaitus panted heavily as he spoke, struggling to pick up the pistol and take aim as he placed his free hand over the bullet wounds.

"No! I.. I was or-" Lord Ferren's words were cut short by Kaitus' pistol sending a round into Ferren's skull, leaving only a small stream of blood to slowly pour from the hole.

Kaitus dropped the pistol and leaned against the wall, using it to prop himself up as he radio'd in. "E.. Enoris, place a national br. Broadcast on my.. My current frequency, and dispatch a medic.."

"Right away my Lord." Replied the advisor.

"This is Militant Lord Kaitus, traitors of the Imperialis Legio, your beloved Ferren has fallen by my hands. It is my right of Lordship that I protect this land and its people from harm, removal of Ferren as Lord of District five places me as its successor Lord. The battle on the North East is won in the name of the true Legio supporters. May all those who dare stand against us prepare for immediate annihilation for the righteous cause. Those who wish to stand down, do so now, for I wish not to harm our own beloved people, nor force them to die in vain for protecting the illusion of oppression before them. Know this, enemies of the Imperials, we will restore morality and glory to this nation, by force if necessary. By my right as Militant Lord, I hereby decree mobilisation of all twenty-five reserve battalions for use in war effective immediately. I declare war on the Lords of the Imperials Legio for the highest degree of treason, may your deaths be merciful."

And so, the 25 Battalions marched from their respective areas of Legio, recruiting a rebellion and slaying those who stood in their way. Most of the traitors who were too stupid to back down were either killed or taken as prisoners of war. Although three of the Lords surrendered, their execution was indefinate. Despite casualties of war, the rebel army numbered to roughly 1.3 million rebels and organised soldiers.

The attacks on the districts went swiftly, when one fell - Another was ready to collapse, as hope and justice inspired those in the district to incite rebellion against their oppressive reign. One by one the districts were overthrown by the rebel forces and officials captured for purpose of execution, thus began the final battle to slay Medica Lord Farthing in the capital.

The Battle of the Aeternus Citadel

Despite the Legion's best effort to assault the Capital city, it was all for naught - Buried half deep within the Imperialis' largest mountain range, it was build to withstand attacks against all manner of aggression. Rows of manned turrets and barricaded soldiers fought endlessly to protect their corrupt tyrant. Kaitus ducked behind the makeshift barricade in time for a few stray shots to fly past his head, he took a moment to heave a sigh and remembered to thank the soldiers who came to his aid when flanking a machine gun nest.

"My Lord! It's no use, this was of attrition is taking a toll on our less equipped allies." The lady spoke with a familiar voice, that of Ellin - She looked different now, her black, long trench coat and facemask obscured her feminine physique, only the gentle tone to her voice betraying who she was.

"I'm aware, but our ordinance battalions are a couple of days away, there's no chance they'll get here in time." sighed Kaitus, as he risked look over the barricade to the battle before him.

"Lord Kaitus, do you read?" crackled Enoris' voice over the radio channel
"Kaitus here, please tell me you have good news."
"... I'm not sure it could be classified as that, it appears DIstrict-Nine's Lord has finally revealed himself."
Kaitus took a moment to wonder what purpose he had in revealing himself, the Militant Lord already discussed neutrality with the District's administration.
"He's en route to your position in approximately eighty-three minutes, hold fast Kaitus"
"Aye, will do. Kaitus out"

Those 83 minutes struggled to move, every body that fell only lengthened the struggle which seemed to last a lifetime. This was a pure war of attrition, two sides wasting thousands upon thousands of bullets purely to keep the other side's heads down long enough to resupply. When one fell, another was always there to pick up the weapon and press on with the attack, this is what the Aeternus Citadel was built for; Kaitus knew this, and he knew it wasn't long before their attack lost force.

A jet black APC pulled up a few meters from the rear lines of the eastern front, the entrance slammed open and a dark skinned man walked out, followed by several armed warriors. Kaitus turned to greet the man, noting his kabuto and Dai-Katana sheathed over his back. So this is the famous Zarentoso, from the old records they were the strongest clan to ever resist assimilation into the Imperialis empire some five hundred years ago.. But this is no time for a history lesson. Kaitus shook himself from his awe and moved to greet the Warrior with a firm handshake.

"It's nice to finally see the Lord who's managed to stem the tide of corruption" The Warrior grinned, eyeing Kaitus and Ellin's appearance; recognising the similarity of clothing.
"Thank you, Lord Zarentoso, it's an honour to hear such words from someone as renowned as yourself. But, why are you out here?"
"I've been watching you since that little incident in Meridas.. Mhm, you fight with a vigor and charisma that could rival that of our late Emperor Shinnen. Which is why I respect you, I saw how you negotiated with my District and how you've honoured the time old agreement of neutrality. For that I wish to provide my own service to you."
It took Kaitus a few moments to find the words, to be compared to an Emperor who united this land as one, was beyond his comprehension." I thank you, Lord Zarentoso, we could use all the assistance we can get."
"Very well, Kaitus. I request three Chinooks and mountain equipment, I'll deal with the rest." Zar waved his hand as he returned to his APC with his warriors. Kaitus shrugged, thinking he should trust Lord Zarentoso, but dismissed it from his mind - His main priority was keeping the frontline strong, and his troops alive.

"Lord Zar, we're thirteen meters from the first bunker. Permission to perform Operation: snake bite" The warrior knelt on a crude mountain path some distance above the Citadel's first machine gun nest, speaking into his radio.
"Permission granted, strike swift and strike hard. Until we fall, brothers."
"Commencing radio silence, Until we fall. Lord Zar" The warriors turned off their radios and drew their Dai-Katanas, they secured their grapple lines and tugged one last time.
"Warriors, Initiate operation: Snake bite!"
The warriors roared in cheer and lunged down their grapple lines, slamming into the concrete tower and pushing themselves off again for one final swing into the nest's firing port. The first soldier roared in a Japanese-Like language and trust his blade into the stomach of the traitor manning the turret, tearing open his organs in a sea of blood. Many others followed in, hacking through their foes with a speed and precision that left nothing standing within the few couple of seconds. Some stayed to collect supplies and secure a permanent grapple line, others ran through the narrow corridors of the Citadel to maim the other gun nests.

Some hours later, after most of the nests were either overrun or destroyed by the Zar soldiers. Kaitus began his assault, pushing over their dwindling barricades and positions to rush the enemy's base before the enemy had a chance to regain internal control. Breaching charges were set immediately and within moments of their detonation, only the Mechanicus Lord's maniac laughter could be heard over the high explosive impact.
"Bwuaha, perfect composition ratios! Just as predicted, Mechanicus soldiers accompany Kaitus' army and neutralise relevant objectives" Bellowed Eroniaeus, the warriors charged off to flood the citadel's halld. Kaitus, Ellin, Zar and Eron all banded together with the Inquisitors before joining the charge. Although the citadel's narrow hallways and countless fireports allowed easy defense, they rebels had the advantage; both in numbers and skill. Hallway by hallway, traitors were either gunned down or sliced in two by the awesome forces of the Inquisiton or the Zar's finest. And so it came to be, the final chamber where Medicae Lord Farthing was held. The ingenuity of Eron easily hacked the door's system and granted quick access.
"Well, it's good to break into a system I designed, though it sort of takes the fun away though huh?" Eron grinned, accepting a shotgun from one of his elites and gesturing for Kaitus to enter first.

"Well, well well. If it isn't the little rebel boy himself hm? I see you've gathered quite a party eh?" Farthing's words betrayed no sense of fear, only a sheer arrogance that only Crestenfal himself could equal.
"Your traitorous ways end now, Farthing. You and your sickening counterpart Crestenfal oppressed this country for far too long, your people rebel against you, Farthing. Even if I die and you live, they will kill you. It is the end of your tyranny, of all corruption in the Imperialis."
"Oh don't talk to me like a self-Righteous god, you're a mere orphan. Too pathetic that you couldn't even protect your own family, you're WEAK KAITUS!"
"HOW DARE YOU! My family slaved away under YOUR reign while we tried to make a difference, and we did, Krellan died so we could capture this moment."
Farthing shook his head, walking around his office with a selfish pride that disgusted the group.
"Do you not see? You're a fool! You could of had it all, money, power.. You little bastard.. You ruined everything! If I die, NO ONE WILL ACCEPT MY DEFEAT!" Farthing frantically reached into the office drawer and produced a pistol, aimed directly towards Kaitus and pulled the trigger.

The shot echoed around the room, those who flinched still recovered from the shock, wondering if Kaitus had been him - Yet he was unharmed. Farthing stood behind the desk, white as a sheet and in total shock, his hand lay bloodied and desecrated; the pistol lay on the floor. Lord Zarentoso moved infront of the group, holding two more throwing knives between his fingers.
"You broke the code, the code of honour, the very principle of discipline that the Emperor united us for. How DARE you forsake such a tradition!" The old veteran threw one of the knives with a speed that none could react to, it impaled deep within Farthing's shoulder and easily tore through his robes. Farthing groaned in agony as the blood began seeping from his wounds.
"You broke the peace between our districts, choked us with your vile taint and now, you try to defy our supremacy. Your cowardice and sense of injustice disgust me" Zar threw the last of the bladed, it lodged above Farthing's collar bone and he wriggled and squirmed as his gurgled in pain through his blood filled throat.
"Krellan died because of your actions, Farthing. It is only right that one person delivers justice." Zar stepped back as Ellin walked forward, she accepted Lord Zar's Dai-Katana as she passed him. They exchanged a brief glance, hers was confused, as though asking if such a deed was allowed; his was a warm smile, accompanied by a nod. Ellin smiled and took a deep breath, taking the Katana and wielding it in a reverse blade fashion.
"Farthing, you pathetic worm, I would happily sit here and watch you die. But, we have a country to reform.. But don't worry, we'll make sure your children pay for the deeds your afterlife won't. Enjoy your death, be lucky it isn't any worse". Farthing attempted to yelp in refusal, his blood caked throat and wounds denied any speech, only to be silenced by the swift Katana through the chest.

It was won, everything that Kaitus and the group fought for, everything that had been prepared for years and years in advance, was came to be. The Kaitan rebellion came to a swift end shortly after. The remaining traitors were executed publicly and plans were immediately put into place to reform the Imperialis. But one thing was certain, the people of the Imperialis looked up to Kaitus almost as a God, they needed a leader to inspire them through the road ahead, they needed a Lord.

And so it was by indefinite acknowledgement of the Imperialis Codex, that he ascended to a new title: Inquisitor-Lord Derran Kaitus. Emperor of The Imperialis Legio, and High-Lord to the elite organisation soon to be known as the Inquisition - The finest collective of warriors loyal only to the Emperor and act as his protectors and National Intelligence.
