The Nihilus class shown is the MAS wolfen, first of it's kind to be put to service, it has a compliment of 2 14 inch cannons for ship to ship warfare, 4 8 inch guns for anti-aircraft duties, and 4 torpedo launchers on the front and rear of the ship.

8 inch guns for anti-aircraft? The round will be too slow to engage aircraft, and the gun's rate of fire will be far too low to make a convincing anti-aircraft emplacement. Use autocannons in the 20-120mm range at varying levels. A good setup might be the American 20mm Phalanx, various types of Swedish 40 and 57mm Bofors mounts and the Italian 76mm Otobreda (which can maintain a rate of fire of 120rpm over short bursts, which is impressive for a weapon firing rounds of the size it does). Then back these up with surface-to-air missiles. Since the Bofors and Otobredas will be capable of targeting light surface ships, it leaves your 14 inch guns (I assume you mean two turrets, not two guns) free to target enemy capital ships. However, ship-to-ship missiles will be capable of engaging at much longer ranges and doing more damage.

I use the Emily class battleship
the ES-Empress is the Empress's flagship and can out run anything in the world and if it gets cornered she has the DSP (Dragovichland Socialist Party) the worlds greatest commandos to defend the ship and she mounts 8 16in guns in double turrets (6 after the GGR conflict) with 18 inch armor and now mounting for primary armorment 8 NS-5 Grand missle batteries she is a modern ship with a bit of an old feel (an added bounus long range anti sub equipment) she may not be a combat ship but the ES-Empress is tough girl that should not be underestimated

As many previously said, there are two ways to answer this question.

If "primary" means most numerous, then the workhorse of the ZMSDF could be said to be the Dragoon-class Strike Cruiser.

The Dragoon Class uses vertical-launch missile systems. Their CIC data allows them to launch both SSMs and SAMs, including the Ultra Hedghog, a non-nuclear anti-submarine missile using MLRV-style technology.

However, if "primary" means most important, then we are talking about the three Leonard Scamwell-Class Command Ships, based on the Sea Shadow class of the US Navy.

Such ships are armed, again, with VLMs. The high-stability SWATH design of the ships allows them incredible precision and rapid acceleration, making pinning down the ships non-visually difficult. Given their ability to attack from over the horizon and move before the missiles have hit their mark, they are highly important in anti-submarine warfare, provided their squadron's compliment of helicopters are deployed (or that the submarines are in one of the stationary SMBG sonar bands.)

Hey, nothing stops you from making a thread for spaceships. I don't doubt there's demand for it. Heck, if I had the time to make an FT version of my nation as well (I've some vague ideas worked out, not much else) I'd be clamouring for spaceships too.

No, not really. This is for "wet" navy contrasts and comparisons. Much like the armoured vehicle thread where tanks couldn't be compared to 'video game' mechas, and where they had seperate threads, it is impossible to compare a death star to a destroyer. Kinda like trying to compare a dreadnaught to a trireme. If you want an FT space navy thread, then make one.

A ok. The backbone of mine is cheaper. DDGs, FFGs, SSKs and A lot anfibian ships. for me CVNs are part of the Capital ship lists.
