The nation of Espartius, which is recognized to be existing in the "second universe" of the God of Jesus and His most esteemed servant Jupiter, guiding the people through the Espartius Church, officially uses the "pure" Julian calendar - thus today is March 23, 2013, rather than April 5 in the Gregorian calendar.

The government refuses to recognize modifications to the Julian calendar implemented in the Gregorian one, which was initiated by the "corrupt" Catholic Church of the "first universe". The Gregorian calendar is used only by the small Catholic communities, consisting of descendants of those first universe people who, somehow, made it to the second universe.

Detectatia uses the Gregorian calender for its months/days.

That being said, however, it does not follow the year counting aspect of the Gregorian calender. For this, Detectatia rather suitably splits up the years into political eras. There are currently 4 eras used:

Before Era (pre-founding of the city-state of Ayand) - Similar to BCE, the years go up the further back in time you go.
Ayandish Era (during the existence of the city-state and later nation of Ayand) - This Era lasted for 158 years.
Reginaldian Era (during the reign of Duke Reginald IV, People's Duchy of Detectatia) - This Era lasted for 37 years.
Detectatian Era (now, during the existence of the current basic framework of Detectatian democracy, unlikely to enter another Era) - This Era has lasted for 306 years.

Dates are written (m)m/(d)d/(ERA) (y)(y)y.

Symbols in parentheses may be omitted if the date does not apply--or the Era may be omitted if the date is obviously referring to DE.

For example, a date incorporating every symbol would look like this (The date is October 12, 156 in the Ayandish Era. This date has no historical significance): 10/12/AE 156.

An example of a date incorporating the minimum number of symbols would look like this (The date is February 4, 8 in the Detectatian Era): 4/2/8.

The Darian calendar for Martian timekeeping.

There are twenty-four months, which works well because the Martian year is roughly twice that of Earth's.

Here is a calendar converter:

http://pweb.jps.net/~tgangale/mars/conv ... _clock.htm

For instance, today it is 2180-04-05 (yyyy-mm-dd) on Earth. In the Martian calendar it is 303-Cancer-26 (yyy-MONTH-dd).

We know the length of the year but we don't use traditional Roman Calender.
There are instead 4 months.
Each one has 91.25 days.
Deusani runs from January 1st till April 1st.
Marsulatian runs from April 1st till July 1st.
Kurarai runs from July 1st till September 29th.
And finally Treton runs from September 29th till January 1st the next year.

The same type of calendar that the USA uses, only that we changed the month names since we didn't like the fact that most the names are named a bit after mythology.

The original Soviet Revolutionary Calendar:

360-day year
12 months per year
6 weeks per month
5 days per week
5 national holidays per year
Every leap-year a party congress and elections fall on the extra day.

Every 5th day being work-free on rotating shifts, so that resulting about 1/5th of the populace is free of work every day except on national holidays - those are excempt from the work calendar which continues normally after they have passed as if they didn't exist. The national holidays are:

1 January – New Year's Day
1 March - Spring Day
1 May - Worker's Day
1 August - Summer Day
1 October - Day of Revolutionary Victory
(leap years) 1. July - Election Day

One of the requirements for choosing the planet we would establish our nation on would be so we don't have to abandon the Gregorian calendar, so we use that.

Years with approximately 365.25 days, simplified in to 365 days per year with an extra day on a leap year (fourth year), unless it is a century however centuries divisible by 400 are included. years are numbered with a.t.b (Ascension Throne Britannia).

The Gregorian Calendar was officially adopted throughout The High Tatras in 1700. Attempts had been made to replace the Julian Calendar with the Gregorian since 1582, but many Protestants objected believing it was part of a Roman Catholic conspiracy.

We use the Conclave Calendar, which begins with the founding of the Conclave Region (now defunct) in 2480 AD. The current year is 2513 CR (Conclave Reckoning), so it's a fairly new calendar.

Its only major difference from the Gregorian Calendar is that it begins the New Year on November 1st in keeping with Pagan traditions, rather than using January 1st (called in Olwe "The Christian New Year").

Note: Before 2480, Olwe was called Athan. If you see this word in a thread, it's because you mentioned a year incompatible with Olwe in that thread but still made it open to all techs and therefore are allowing Athan's magic.

When dealing with drógclótën (foreigners), Yannians use the Holocene Era (HE), a year numbering system that adds exactly 10,000 years to the Common Era (CE) system, placing its first year near the beginning of the Holocene epoch and the Neolithic revolution. The year 2013 CE can be transformed into a Holocene year by adding the digit "1" before it, making it 12013 HE.

Among themselves, Yannians use their own calendar, the start date of which is reckoned to be 17 March 10787 HE, the year in which the first Yannians are thought to have arrived in what is now Yannia.

There are 12 months in a year:
  • Óstërmánþ (Easter Month),
  • Wonëmánþ,
  • Bluymánþ (blossom month),
  • Ligtmánþ (light month),
  • Zómërmánþ (Summer Month),
  • Hóymánþ (Hay month),
  • Ógstmánþ (Harvest month),
  • Yagtmánþ (Hunting month),
  • Slagtmánþ (slaughter month),
  • Yulmánþ (Yule month),
  • Wintërmánþ (Winter month),
  • Hórnmánþ (horn month).
A month consists of 29-32 days, with the longest months in Summer, and the shortest months in Winter. This year, the first 6 months (from Óstermánþ to Hóymánþ) have 31 days, while Yulmánþ has 29 days, and the others have 30 days. Next year, Ligtmánþ will have 32 days, and Wintërmánþ will have 29, while the rest have the same number as this year.
Years with 366 days occur 8 times in 33 years, making the Yannian calendar one of the most accurate with regards to the seasons.

The week consists of 7 days:
  • Zondag (Sun day),
  • Mándag (Moon day),
  • þiñsdag (Things' day),
  • Wódënsdag (Odin's day),
  • þonnërsdag (Thor's day),
  • Freydag (Frey's day), and
  • Drácsdag (Dragon's day).
The first day of the Yannian calendar is the vernal equinox, thus today (Saturday, 6 April 12013, HE) is Drácsdag 18 Óstërmanþ 1227 YR (Yannian Reckoning).

The old clock, having 8 stondën, subdivided into 12 wárodë (twelfths), each further subdivided in 12 conodë (144ths), each again subdivided in 12 burodë (1728ths), is all but forgotten, and only used by the military, and ultra-nationalist Yannians, as the new clock is consistent with the dozenal numbering system, having 2 dozen hours, each subdivided into 5 dozen minutes, each further subdivided in 5 dozen seconds. In other words, the new clock is the 24 hour clock used world-wide.
Yannia's nation page contains an error. The population should be in millions, not in billions.
