-200bc: Terrible warfare devastated the ancestral homeland whose original name has been lost, and now only known as dai yuen, the Great Origin. In desperation, the populace eager for better lives and facing only death and starvation in their wartorn home fled the continent in a massive exodus fleet. Numbering in their hundreds originally, the junks soon swelled to thousands of ships fleeing the continent, sailing west ward in a vain attempt to seek a better life. Surviving blast furnaces were salvaged and put to use in melting down salvaged metal, which was a precious commodity in the early days of the shipwreck.
At the mercy of the waves, dehydration and other merciless horrors of a prolonged sea journey with little planning, majority of hastily made ships were lost at sea. Eventually the scattered survivors were caught in a massive storm that swept their ships and scattered the exodus fleet across the stretch of coast the natives called Drackonisa.
-190 bc: Utilizing their thousand shattered ships as makeshift buildings and living quarters, the survivors eked out a living using whatever they could find. Farming implements were fashioned from melted down iron found in scattered wrecks and swords, bows and other equipment were reused as makeshift axes, hunting equipment. Trade began with the savage natives and eventually they founded a new city with which to recreate their lost civilisation. To interact and survive in the strange lands, they took up the native language and helped enlighten the barbarians with their own knowledge as well. City named Drackengarde in honor of the new land the survivors called home, utilizing the tongue of the barbarians.
-187 bc: Invention of paper, alongside pulp papermaking process and established the use of new raw materials used in making paper revolutionized record keeping in the country and following of which, detailed records of family history details etc were made avaliable in the national records. First junks repaired and pressed back into service as merchant ships. Exploratory fleet of 4 junks sent out to explore the region and establish trade ties 3 years after. Major mines discovered and mining communities were founded in the western and southern reaches. State exams introduced for key government positions.
-150 bc: Exodus from city to found new towns and villages as overcrowding begins in the city of Drackengarde. Qiong Chun, the beginnings of the second city was set up further south as a nexus of trade between the outlying farming communities and villages. Silkworm cultivation expanded in the eastern outlying communities.
-140bc: Centralized government established in Drackengarde with a massive building utilized as the national archives, paper books containing family histories were now mandatory and every clan in Drackonisa has each member's name born to it recorded inside. First population census put the total population at 1 million citizens. 8 clans rose to eminence in the central government and seized control, creating a aristocracy though none acquired power enough to crown an emperor. State exams introduced to test new officials and ensure competency opened to peasants who can afford the fees. Aristocracy linked families take up majority of government positions due to privileged situations leading to better educational opportunities.

-8BC: Kanslavia port city of Kraj discovered by the merchant fleet led by merchant captain Liu Huaqiang. Official trading ties with Kanslavia established 2 years later. Exploratory fleets was sent to discover more efficient sea lanes to the port city. Silk, paper and food was traded for precious metals. Formal diplomatic ties established in 5BC.

-1 AD: For 100 over years, the nation's borders are expanded ever outwards and native tribes and barbarians sought shelter and opportunity in the cities and towns. They are required to be absorbed into the clans and learn both national languages to be accepted as citizens. Assimilation of tribes brought further diversity and increased population to the country.
-500AD: Steel forging was discovered and revolutionized the military of Drackonisa.
-600 AD: New stranded settlers from Dai Yuen arrived, shipwrecked along a stretch of coast 200km away from the original landing site. They were discovered by a scouting party and welcomed back into Drackonisian society. With them came, inventions such as woodblock printing. With this, record keeping was revolutionized and education centres were now widespread in the country with every city and major trading town having a school stocked with teaching material. Gunpowder was the second invention, and a terrifying new weapon brought to the attention of the rulers. During this period, one clan above all rose to power. The Wongs, with the stranded shipwrecked people being distantly related in the clan, they had the greatest access to gunpowder and with it, gained eminence over the other 7 clans.
-700 AD: Ministry for education set up, and given overview of the examination process used to test future government officials. State examinations were standardized in the capital and the competition for the top spots became more intensive. Peasants were given their first chance to improve their station in life. An extreme form of meritocracy began to form, with education linked to a person's success. The chief way to advance one's station in life was to study for better paper qualifications and obtain top spots in national examinations.
-900AD: Gunpowder was refined, and with it came the first firearm. The huo jian or 'flaming arrow', basically a small metal tube with a dart and gunpowder charge, it was a cheap and powerful self defence weapon for militias and soldiers. With it, came the massive expansion of the borders and subjugation of savages who refused to submit to the country. The Wong's guarded the secret of gunpowder manufacturing jealously and all major alchemists experimenting with the substance owed their allegiance to the clan.
-1000AD: Major trade links established to the foreign countries(to be confirmed). Silk, paper and spices were among the exotic spices traded. Foreign mercenaries were hired, gun powder became a controlled substance traded with regional civilisations in exchange for valuables.
-1100AD: The last of the shipwrecks arrived, each bearing tales of more horror and bloodshed in Dai Yuen, culminating in tales of massive earthquakes and natural disasters tearing apart what little remained of civilisation. Eventually the ships stopped coming and the ancestral homeland was presumed lost. Plans to return home or establish contact with the old homeland were abandoned. Formula for gunpowder stolen by agents working for the other clans, forcing the wongs to lose much of their advantage, though the years they utilized to accumulate wealth worked to their benefit. Balance of power begins to shift in the government.
-1118AD: Refugees from Kingdom of Lindblum(Currently Commonwealth of Yohannes) makes landfall in Drackonisa.
-1200AD: Cannon invented, a vase shaped cast iron object called the huo long quan, or 'fire dragon's fist' was introduced to the military. The first example weighed 40 kg and fired a 1kg cannon ball. Larger versions were introduced during the coming years. Central authority set up to improve research in the new field of firearms. Universities begin a streamlined course with alchemy as a focus to groom new talent into improving the technology.
-1350AD: smoothbore firearm in the form of an early flintlock invented by researchers at the national Drackengarde University. Mass production of said weapons began replacing swords, spears and the huo jian as the premier firearm. Trade with the neighboring country of Archisland from sea routes begins as first Archisland traders make first contact with the merchant fleets. With it came a widely popular commodity, olives.
-1356AD: Expedition fleet sponsored by the Lindblum's Tsung family and the Li family attempts to make contact with the Kingdom of Lindblum and succeeds. Balance of power in Drackonisa shifts once more.
-1400AD: Inter clan rivalry threatens to split the government. Central government splits along factional lines. Wong, Tan, Li formed the strongest faction, pushing for increased trade with the 'gwai lo' or foreigners. Tsung, Zheng, Hao, Qiu, Po formed a separate faction pushing for isolation and reduction of foreign trade, essentially the minimization of the foreign barbarian influences.
1420 AD: Wong family head Kai Yat assassinated in a plot, interclan rivalry breaks out into open fighting. Drackengarde wracked by civil war as loyalists to either factions begin launching attacks and raids into districts controlled by the rival factions in retaliatory strikes. Military stays out of conflict and remains neutral pending resolving of the civil conflict.
1422 AD: Fighting stops as military leaders pledged their allegiance to the Wongs, rumors of undertable dealing which placed the general's loyalty to the clan led to the imposing of martial law to the city. Infighting in the open is suppressed and conflict melts away into the underbelly and politicking of the government, continuing all the way into the modern age.
1500 AD: Several interior trading towns and coastal merchant towns had expanded into major cities in their own right, threatening the power of Drackengarde. Port Jing, Lung Tuo, Fai Di, Tai Fung were annexed into Drackengarde. Military bases established to maintain security. Qiong Chun, Tai yang, Shen Di, Tian Xia, Tian Shang had heavy taxes and other policies introduced to limit their growth and funnel their resources into Drackengarde. Unrest grows but remains suppressed by the government.
1652AD: Raionese refugees fleeing religious persecution following Korechika forcibly banishing Shintoism, Buddhism and Confucianism from his realm and implements the Cult of Amatersu instead; Raionese convert en masse to avoid persecution or fled to Drackonisa to the west seeking a new lease of life. They largely made landfall in what was once the coastal town of Tai Fung, now annexed into Drackengarde territory and began settling in there.
1670AD: Raionese immigrants establish themselves in Drackonisa, with members of the Akita family setting up the early Akita Zaibatsu. A major trading conglomerate, they quickly secured exclusive trading rights with Raion no Kumi. While never reaching the influence or resources of the other clans, they were a significant financial power in Drackonisa. Their support would tip the balance of power within the Tai Fung district of Drackengarde.
1700 AD: Drackengarde grows at an exponential rate and overcrowding begins to become a problem. Crime rates and diseases spread among the ghettos, leading to several purges by the military, the government's increasingly iron fisted rule grates on the populace. Tsung Hoi was set up to cater to the mining communities and grew into an economic powerhouse. Eventually becoming its own province.
1711AD: A coalition by the interior cities of Qiong Chun, Tai Yang, Shen Di, Tian Xia, Tian Shang demands repeal of biased, oppressive policies that hamper their development to enrich Drackengarde and threatens secession. Military units based in those cities defect and announce their allegiance publicly. Central government, deciding not to risk a civil war that will tear the country apart, accedes to the demands and lifts centuries of oppressive policies. Second major territorial expansion begins to settle new lands to alleviate overcrowding was launched. Drackonisa divided into 3 Provinces named after the capitals. Drackengarde, Qiong Chun, Tsung Hoi.
1715AD: Lifting of unfair economic sanctions on the interior and frontier cities led to loosening of education restrictions. A more streamlined education plan under the Ministry of Education led to standardised tertiary education for all universities, state owned and private in all Drackonisian cities. University exams now set by the Ministry of Education to ensure a level of quality for the students produced. More funding was also released for tertiary education funding and monetary awards as well as recognition given to fund potential research work by students.
1757AD: First contact made with the newly founded Western Republic. Diplomatic overtures to the Westerners fail and relations remain lukewarm and sporadic for many years after.
1760: First contact made with the Prutenia Kontor, alongside the introduction of a new technology set to change the face of Tetrakon: the steam engine.
1770AD: A student research group working on their final year projects produced the country's first indigenous steam engine and awarded substantial funding to continue their research into the technology.
1780AD: First commercially avaliable steam engine produced locally and became widely spread through the country. Industrialisation begins.
1810AD: Drackonisa begins preparing to begin another round of annexation southwards as the growing population demands more farmlands. Large steps were made in innovations for firearms development as focus began to be shifted towards warfare. The first rifle was produced by firearms developers in the University of Qiong Chun. Improvements were made in the University of Drackonisa to the existing gunpowder mixture, namely the first discovery of smokeless powder. Competition between universities for research funding intensifies as students are pressured to innovate and design to ensure their faculties obtain the largest cut of tertiary education funds.
1811AD: Offensives against the Ougadouga held lands to the south begin, breaking centuries old peace treaties. A prolonged period of conquest begins for the next 9 years.
1820AD: Large gains were made in 9 years of warfare, with major tracts of land from indigenous Ohrang Ashli Ougs seized. Offensives were halted to avoid overextending supply lines and to consolidate holdings. Talks were held with the Confederacy to assuage concerns over the recent expansion.
1842AD: First breech loading rifle designed by the University of Tai Yang. Mass production of the new rifles led to the re-equipment of the army. Experiments began with utilizing rifling on a larger scale, namely naval guns to rearm the nation's future warships. Tests of said weapons would reshape warfare and tactics in Drackonisa forever.
1880AD: Construction of first Ironclad warship, Wu Gui, or 'turtle' began in the Drackengarde shipyards.
1882AD: Sea trials of the Wu Gui deemed successful, and a line of ironclads began to be put into production. Lack of perceived overseas threats led to a limited procurement of 12 vessels as the formation of a new fleet. The navy retains its current warships as military funding continues to be funneled to the army.
1883AD: Reports of increase in truancy and misbehavior amongst children leads to national outrage. Under pressure from parents, Education reforms enforcing compulsory education introduced. Legislation passed allowed for the creation of a separate arm of the police force to deal with delinquents and students playing truant. Truancy drops drastically in the coming years.
1910AD: First Dreadnought produced, the DNS Phoenix began patrolling sea lanes of Drackonisa.
1944AD: First successful attempt in the splitting of the atom. An experimental atomic initiation was carried out later that year.
1954AD: Ougadouga militant organization OLF(Ougadouga's Liberation Front) seeking 'justice' from discrimination, bombs several government offices in the southern city of Frontier. Military units sent in to keep order.
1958AD: Ougadouga's face even stricter laws and more discrimination within Drackonisa. Violence escalates and OLF elements driven into the forests. Believed to be defeated, the country sets into a period of peace for the next 14 years.
1960AD: Western-Drackonisan Nuclear Treaty signed following 10 years of nuclear arms race. This leads to warming of ties as suspicions cease and markets to both countries open.
1961AD: First trade agreement between Western and Drackonisian Governments signed. First ambassador also sent to The Western Republic in over 40 years.
1972AD: Resurgent OLF, garnering support from overseas backers began launching new attacks on various southern cities in Qiong Chun province from their hidden holdings in the rainforests. A large swathe of rainforests are now declared OLF territory and announced their independence from Drackonisian rule. Calls were made for local Ougadougas to join the OLF.
1986AD: 1st Drackonisian Division under the command of Yolanda Wong led a major offensive into the OLF held territories.
1987AD: A year of fierce fighting left the OLF exhausted and on the defensive. The battles culminated in the deployment of chemical weapons on OLF holdings. Multitudes of Ohrang Ashli were killed in the crossfire. Use of sarin gas on OLF is officially denied by the Drackonisian government and all records sealed. Key OLF leadership slain and the organisation officially surrenders. Public outcry by Western Republic.
