SHAHBAZ MILITARY STRUCTURE:

The military forces of the Emirates of Shahbaz is known as the Emirates Defense Force, which in turn is divided into other smaller branches. The Emirates Ground Forces is the largest branch of the EDF, and includes five brigades: the “Asad”, “Luay”, “Mahbeer”, “Mahrus”, and “Sarab” brigades. These are numbered as well but are generally referred to by name within the command structure of the EDF. The Emirates Ground Forces mobilizes a standing force of roughly 20,000 soldiers. In addition to the regular brigades, there is a Presidential Guard Brigade that is listed within the EGF OOB, but is in fact a independent unit for the specific defense of the President and the government as a whole.

The next largest branch is the Emirates Air Forces (EAF), which is currently going through expansion and modernization. Currently we know of two active wings: the “Shahbaz” wing and the “Haytham” wing. Both have their own security and maintenance personnel as well as pilots.

The smallest of the mainstream branches is the Emirates Naval Forces (ENF), which is based out of the port city of Nubiur and maintains patrol vessels for patrols along the coast and in harbors.

The last branch is the Special Operations Corps, or SOC. It is led by Colonel Mahfuz Hasna Bakr, who is the son of the Minister of State Security and a close friend to the President and the Prime Minister. The SOC, while officially a branch of the EDF, is commonly used by the internal ministry in what is described by Minister Hammad Aasif as “domestic security and stability” missions.

In addition to these standing forces branches, each Emirate also controls a Defense Force of its own numbering over 5,000 per Emirate, which is used for the emergency defense of that Emirate, assistance in local disasters, and civil service. This is lighter equipped than the standing forces but is fully trained as infantry.

HISTORY OF THE EMIRATES OF SHAHBAZ:

The Emirates of Shahbaz is a country that has been in existence for hundreds of years. However only recently, through its inclusion in the Nordlanda Pact, has the country actually begun developing at a fast rate. The country is led by a traditional council of Emirs which elect a President, who then selects a prime minister. The council of Emirs is made of up the high offices of the country: The President, Prime Minister, Minister of State Security, Minister of religion, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Interior. These ministries then have sub-ministers, know as the Lower Cabinet, that cover specific areas within the broad spectrum.

Unlike some countries, the Emirates of Shahbaz has never actually seen true civil war or internal conflict, and has avoided foreign attacks simply because of its isolationist attitude and lack of interest in becoming involved in international conflicts. This policy only recently changed with the ascension of the country to membership within the Nordlanda Pact, and has recently obtained status as a recent world power despite its still developing economy and social strengths. Only time will tell what this country makes with its new-found power and influence.
