In the Name of His Majesty King William I

Over the recent years of both the last government and this one, New Kaledor has been attempting to forge stronger and more lasting relations with the other nations of the world. As such, I am proud to declare on behalf of the King, Parliament and people that our counrty now offers a warm welcome to representatives from other nations to establish embassies in Nottford, our capital. Provided nations accept this invitation in the friendly, cooperative spirit in which it was intended, all applicants are welcome.

Rules and Regulations

+As long as it is occupied by an ambassador from another soveriegn state, the embassy is the territory of, and subject to the laws of, that soveriegn state. However, should there be no ambassador for longer than two (2) years, than that embassy will revert to the soveriegnty of New Kaledor to be dealt with as the Kingdom sees fit.

+ All Ambassoadors posess diplomatic immunity.

+As stated above, all laws and customs of that nation shall operate within the embassy and grounds. However, for certain aspects of law, custom or culture that are likely to impact upon the surrounding residents, please give due notice to said neighbours, as well Nottford City Council. Examples of this would include: fanfares, amplfied voice calls, bell-ringing or other activities making a significant ammount of noise after 8pm (20:00 hours). Please give due notice of use of fireworks or other pyrotechnics at any time of day.

+ All embassies are exempt from local city planning laws for building modification.

+ Embassies may employ armed guards, however they may not carry firearms other than pistols or sub-machine guns in pistol calibre. Non-lethal weapons are encouraged. Applications for ceremonial weapons (flintlock firearms, swords etc.) will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

+ Alcohol, tobacco or other drugs, including those currently illegal in New Kaledor, are allowed to be imported duty-free. However, the Government reserves the right to confiscate these supplies if they are found to be sold by embassy personnel to non-embassy workers or nationals not of the embassy's country.

+ The Police forces, intelligence agencies and military forces reserve the right to search an embassy or embassy grounds if they have reasonable intelligence that the embassy is being used to assemble weapons or equipment with the intent of harming the New Kaledorian people. Any states found to do this will have their embassy and any assets in the country seized and may have their ambassador or other personnel stripeed of any immunities and arrested.

1. This is dependent on the recipient party in the contract, but generally, the contract is indefinite, as it is intended to be a rehabilitating alternative to lifetime imprisonment or execution (in other words, as punishment for a felony). Government-owned servants who signed such contracts for misdemeanors and felonies alike will usually have a quantified condition for completion of service, such as a specific duration or a diagnosis by a licensed criminal psychologist. Privately-owned servants are released from servitude at their owners' discretion, but lifetime servitude is rare for an obedient and hard-working servant; YellowApplan culture frowns upon unfair treatment of others, and supports the rewarding of others for hard work.

2. There is no legal provision regarding the commercial distribution of servants, and such sale is thus legal by default. Such commerce is rare, however. If the sale is of a government-owned servant to a private party (or vice versa), or if it involves export from YellowApple, it is only legal if the servant consents to a redefinition of contractual obligation. Import of slaves from foreign entities for the purpose of contractual servitude is no longer endorsed by the YellowApplan Department of Commerce, but such import is, at this time, still legal; such slaves are not legally considered servants until they voluntarily sign a contract binding them to servitude in YellowApple, and thus an imported slave without a signed contract of servitude is automatically freed.

3. The answer to this is dependent on whether or not the child is born during servitude. If the child was already born, he/she undergoes a psychological examination; if the examiner(s) determine the child to be behaviorally inclined to repeat the crime committed by his/her parents, and/or the child has no suitable parents or guardians, the child will also enter involuntary servitude or be entered into psychiatric care and indefinite parole at his/her parent/guardian's choosing. Otherwise, the child retains status as citizen or legal immigrant.
3a. If the child was born during servitude, his/her citizenship is decided by the owner, and is not granted by default. The YellowApplan government automatically grants citizenship to children born of government-owned servants.
