The Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Ewa Beach can be divided into two subdivisions: the Royal Armed Forces [RAF] (comprising the Kingdoms' main military forces and their reserves), and the National Guard [RNG] (comprising the Kingdoms' strict homeland defense force). Intrinsically, preference is given to the RAF in terms of equipment and funding, though the nation's budget allocates over 24 trillion in military spending, providing enough fiscal support for the entirety of Ewa Beach's military operations.

Senior Command Structure

The Kingdom has a strong tradition of civilian control of the military. While the Chief is the overall head of the military, the Department of Defense [DoD], a federal executive department, is the principal organ by which military policy is carried out. The DoD is headed by the Secretary of Defense, who is a civilian and a member of the Cabinet, who also serves as the Chiefs' second-in-command of the military. To coordinate military action with diplomacy, the Chief has an advisory National Security Council headed by a National Security Advisor. Both the Chief and Secretary of Defense are advised by a six-member Joint Chiefs of Staff, which includes the head of each of the service branches, led by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

All five branches are under the direction of the Department of Defense, except the Coast Guard, which was made an agency of the Department of Homeland Security. The Coast Guard may be transferred to the Department of the Navy by the Chief or Congress during a time of war. All five armed services are among the seven uniformed services of the Kingdom; the others are the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps.

Major Military Facilities

Symbolically, the Royal Armed Forces answers to the government in Ewa City, which answers to the King in the symbolic capital of Waipahu. Functionally, the major nerve center of the RAF is located in Hentulu. The Royal Armed Forces Command (RAFCOM), the chief center for military planning and aerospace defense is located in Hentulu, as is the headquarters for the Department of the Navy and the headquarters for the Department of the Air Force. The headquarters for the Department of the Army is located in nearby Waipahu.

During the times of the Crimson War, the Kingdom of Ewa Beach and The Republik of Solm have formed a Joint Task Force; designated Echo-Sierra Joint Task Force. It was originally comprised of 30,000 soldiers, but it has slightly decreased to almost 20 thousand soldiers. Both combat and support. Ewa Beach has devoted 10,000 troops, and Solm has done the same. The ESJTF was planned to be the main military force deployed during the war, yet lately it hasn't been so. Ewa Beach and Solm will deploy their own militaries, but the Task Force will be sent out at the same time. There is a ESJTF Military Base in both nations. One in Fort Catt of Ewa Beach, and it is unknown where Solm has placed their ESJTF Military Base.

Citizenship for Service

All natural born, able-bodied male civilians must begin a compulsory service term with the RAF or the RNG of no less than two years by no later than the age of 25. Following the completion of their two year mandatory service term, the men can opt to remain with their active service branch, become designated to the Reserve Corps of their respected branch (if applicable), transfer to the active or reserve National Guard, or withdraw from the military altogether. Such a structure is designed to award serving men with the status of citizenship in the Kingdom. All natural born men and women of the Kingdom are automatically granted citizenship at birth. Both of the subdivisions of the RAF retain Reserve Corps - the RAF and the RNG. The Reservists from the RAF and the RNG fall into the same organizational structure as the active troop body does.

Matériel

The Royal Military uses a strategy called Simplistic Superiority in its military planning. A more commonly referred colloquial slogan would be "Strong by Force, Virtuous by Simplicity". This refers to the Militarys' policy of using matériel that is easily transferable from one branch of the military to another. Every branch and subdivision of the RAF uses the same basic uniform structure, with color alterations made to order, and all military branches are equipped with the same weapons program, produced by Asken Manufacturing Company. The entirety of the Royal Military Field Weapons Arsenal contains only eleven different platforms: the KA-BAR Combat Knife, the M1A Model Bayonet, the ASP .45 Military Pistol, the AZ Vector, the AR3R1 KRL Rifle, the AA-12 Military Automatic Combat Shotgun, the Remington 870 Military Shotgun, the MK19 Grenade Machine Gun, the M203 Grenade Launcher, and the A57 Squad Automatic Weapon. The Kingdom Military uses three classes of grenades: the AN-M18 Smoke Grenade, the M67 Fragmentation Grenade, and the M1 Incendiary Grenade.

Furthermore, all soldiers, marines, airmen, and sailors make use of the Meals Ready to Eat, a series of ration kits used in the field, dependent on the environment and situation. All MRE Kits maintain the same basic composition:
-main course (entree)
-side dish
-dessert or snack (often commercial candy, fortified pastry, or HOOAH! Bar)
-crackers or bread
-spread of cheese, peanut butter, or jelly
-powdered beverage mix: fruit flavored drink, cocoa, instant coffee or tea, sport drink, or dairy shake.
-utensils (usually just a plastic spoon)
-flameless ration heater (FRH)
-beverage mixing bag
Accessory pack:
-xylitol chewing gum
-water-resistant matches
-napkin / toilet paper
-moist towelette
-seasoning; including salt, pepper, sugar, creamer, and/or Tabasco sauce

Personnel Grades and Decorations

The RAF uses a three-phase, twenty-five tier rank structure to denote personnel levels in the two subdivisions: the RAF, and the RNG. The three phases are unilateral across the board, and encompass the three levels of Ewacian military personnel: Enlisted Personnel, Warrant Officers and Commissioned Officers. The enlisted personnel phase holds nine levels or grades, the warrant officer phase holds five rank levels, and the commissioned officer phase holds eleven rank levels. In both subdivisions, the RAF uses the same Military Decorations.

:Current Size of the Royal Armed Forces:
1,033,175 Total Personnel [2.5%]

"The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function: without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it."

HISTORY OF THE ARMED FORCES

Past Engagements

    Ewacian Revolution [1773-1774]

In December of 1773, centuries after the discovery of the native Ewacians by the Solmians, the Ewacian people took first blood against the tyrannical Solmian government. At the time, taxes set up by Solm were high, and they were corrupt, murdering those who opposed them, causing chaos, and left the Ewacians with a bitter taste of revenge, and a wanting for freedom.

A small band of men attacked one of the Solmian outposts, destroying any who may have been in there. Soon after, news got out, and the Solmians sent out a massive armada of troops to put down this "small outburst" as they called it. T'was a revolution. And the Ewacian people fought the Solmians on every front, in every town, but it was too much.

The Solmians soon reached the then capital, Ewa City. Little did they know, a majority of the Ewacian military was stationed in Ewa City, and the Solmians were torn to shreds. While millions of soldiers fought them in the city, others went out of the city and snuck in behind the Solmians. Cutting off their supply line, and ultimately surrounding them, and killing them all.

After this major loss of life on the Solmian side, the president of Solm granted Ewa Beach their independence. And thus, on January 15th, 1774 the United States of Ewa Beach was born.

    First Judean Regional War [1939-1946]

At the start of 1939, new nations arose, others fell, and people grew tired of the same old governments. Ewa Beach had grown to be a massive superpower, leading it's forces to victory in every war or skirmish they faced. Ewa Beach and Solm had managed to stay bitter enemies ever since 1774, yet they never touched each other after that dreadful date, knowing that it would amount to a massive loss of life.

Ewa Beach, at the time the Allied States of Ewa Beach (ASEB), had bordered a small colony of theirs, Real Southern America. RSA, as some liked to abbreviate, was a menacing nation, killing those who entered its borders. The ASEB grew furious of its citizens all of sudden disappearing, and so it came to war. There was a massive invasion of the RSA. Millions upon millions of Ewacian troops penetrated their borders, obliterating everything in sight. And so far, this war had remained a speck in the eyes of others.

Only weeks after the invasion, other nations became curious, and soon enough, alliances started popping up out of nowhere. Some nations planned to protect the RSA, others wanted to help with the invasion of it. This brought together a massive build up of allies and enemies, and it pulled most of the region into war.

In the midst of battle, the two nations that hated each other the most, decided to team up and defeat the evil axis that was haunting Judea, and ever since then, Ewa Beach and Solm have been allies for the rest of time.

Technically, the war stopped in 1944, but the last treaty was signed in 1946, marking the end of the First Judean Regional War.

    New Ewacian Revolution [1953-1957]

The First Judean Regional War had just ended over seven years ago, and most of Judea had considered a new era of peace to have started. However, this wasn't the case. The Federation happened to have a few colonies in its possession. A certain one decided to cause some trouble in late 1953. This one was New Ewa Beach had demanded its independence, and just like Ewa Beach did so long ago, would fight for it.

Ewa Beach had become the same thing it hated and defeated, yet nobody in the government saw it that way, and the war rolled in. Considering the little amount of Ewacian military presence in the colony, and the regional war, it took a long time to mobilize the amount of troops needed to be victorious in ending this revolution. Only a month after they demanded independence, the first task force rolled out. A large amphibious assault occurred soon after, and only four years later, the Ewacian task force entered the capital, and executed all government officials, installing a puppet government to insure no more problems arise from the colony.

    NEMA-VIPER Wars [2009-2009]

The Federations' pride and joy, its' baby, the Northern Eagle Military Alliance was formed in the beginning of '09. Since its formation, it accomplished things no other alliance could ever dream of. Though like any alliance or organization, there were people who opposed them. One of our trusted allies of the time, a member of NEMA, New Azura, betrayed the alliance, saying it was for "the greater good of the alliance."

New Azura formed an opposing alliance, VIPER, which was comprised of multiple alliances and nations that hated NEMA, and its members. The members of VIPER had planned on taking the first shot, but that wasn't what was going down. NEMA was furious, and appalled that so many nations had decided to team up and attempt to destroy the alliance. NEMA decided to strike first, attempting to invade one of the leading members, Birkaine.

A massive naval battle occurred just off the shores of Birkaine. Unfortunately, the VIPER members pushed away NEMA naval forces, and NEMA forces rushed to protect its' members from invasion. The VIPER members were on a mission, and they weren't going to stop until they obliterated every single member of the Northern Eagle Military Alliance.

They attacked the Federations' closest allies at first. Striking the hearts of Lintyland, and Albrante first. The United Kingdom of Albrante took the biggest hit of the war, as New Azura had fired nuclear weapons upon their cities.

VIPER had wanted to invade Ewa Beach, Solm, and the other NEMA members, but never got the chance. After the destruction of Albrante, New Azura decided it could not cause this much harm and destruction. A treaty was brought up, the war ceased, and the Northern Eagle Military Alliance was disbanded for good, as was VIPER, as there only use as an alliance was for the destruction of NEMA.

Though this was not the end of the war; weeks after the disbandment of NEMA, a new alliance was formed. A more exclusive alliance, with the only loyal members that were left of NEMA. The Cobra Alliance. Immediately after it was formed, Birkaine declared war, and VIPER was brought back to life. Officially, the war had started, but no shots were really ever fired. Another treaty was formed, and all members signed. A non-aggression pact, all members agreeing to never commit an act of war against any of the signatories.

    Crimson War [2010-2010]

Only a year after the NEMA-VIPER wars, a new enemy bared its ugly head. Tergnitz, a nation Ewa Beach had never even heard of, got a hold of a secret Solmian package. This package contained information that no nation could get their hands on, not even their best ally, Ewa Beach. So it immediately went to war. A small naval bout occurred off the shores of Tergnitz, and although plans were made to invade, there was no actual invasion.

There was no need for an invasion, the naval forces of Tergnitz sacrificed themselves. Detonating a nuclear weapon in the sea, destroying a majority of the ships, on both sides, and ending war. Although there was still a lot of tension, and this tension ended when Tergnitz offered up a treaty, the Hiller Cease-Fire, and it was officially over.

However, the battle with Tergnitz was not the only invasion at the time. Slazenagara, an old ally, made the decision to invade another ally, Lintyland. Solm, and others, including Ewa Beach, declared support for Lintyland. Solmian, Ewacian, and Lintylandian forces pushed out the Slazenagarian forces, and the war ended, instead of causing more damage and death by invading Slazenagara.

    Ewacian Civil War [2010-2011]

The Federation of Ewa Beach, an extremely violent nation, had finally shown its true colors. While the Federation always said that their population was happy, it was all lies. The population grew tired of the lies, and tired of the death. The government was murderous, executing those who opposed them, and lying about it to the international community.

A small band of Ewacians, freedom fighters, or resistance fighters, decided to fight. They considered the current government as an occupying force, leading Ewa Beach onto a deadly path. Firefights raged on all across the lands, and it was rumored that there was a third party in the war, that helped the resistance fighters.

Nearing the end of 2011, the resistance fighters pushed for victory. Invading the capital of Resburg, and in the end, executing all government officials. With the government destroyed, a new one had to be installed. Thus, the Kingdom was born, and is here to stay.

Military Advancements

Since its declaration of independence from Solm, and even before then, Ewa Beach has experienced wars of many different varieties. Each war introduced a new kind of warfare. Before independence, there were tribal wars, introducing the use of firearms, brought over by the Solmians. The Ewacian Revolution introduced for the first time in Ewacian history, the idea of naval warfare. As a colony though, the Ewacians did not have a navy. Solmian ships were armed with dozens of guns and carried several dozens of men. The musket, armed with its bayonet as well as the cannon proved to be worthy weaponry advancements in the infantry together with various pistols.

As Ewa Beach progressed through a time of peace, so did military advancement. By the time Ewa Beach entered the First Judean Regional War in the early 1940's, the military had undergone several technological advancements in many different areas of the army. The grenade was introduced, which aided the troops of the frontline in close combat as it created a small explosion able to kill small numbers of enemies in one throw. Machine guns such as the Thomson M1 or the “Tommy gun” fired up to 700 rounds per minute. Rifles such as the M1 Garand were one of the first gas operated semi-automatic infantry weapons used on the frontlines. Heavy machine guns were introduced that aided in powerful superiority for frontline combat such as the M1919 which fired over 500 rounds per minute and required a 250-round belt magazine and a team of two soldiers to operate. Anti-tank weapons such as the Bazooka were introduced as well. This rocket launching power weapon required both a loader and a shooter to operate it. Tanks became more powerful and destructive while armored cars and Jeeps became dominant vehicles in the aid of transportation and armor. The Air Corps experienced major advancements in both Fighter planes as well as Bombers. The P51 Mustang was able to travel over 400 mph at the range of over 25,000 feet in the air. The Navy, although weak, also experienced a major technological advancement as the Aircraft carrier was introduced carrying up to dozens of aircrafts all throughout the ocean. The invention of radar and sonar aided the military in locating enemy troops, planes, ships as well as submarines.

The technological advancements in the military continued to flourish through yet another time of peace, with the addition of helicopters and new and improved fighter planes. The A17 machine gun was introduced as well and proved to be useful in its firepower of almost 1,000 rounds per minute, durability through harsh weather conditions and a light weight frame. The introduction of mines aided in sealing perimeters from enemies for night encampments while walkie-talkies enabled troops to maintain conversation-like contact while standing many yards away from one another. However, the invention of nuclear missiles changed the worlds approach to war forever. At this day in age, the advancements made in military technology are far beyond the minds of any regular person. The Ewacian military now has in its possession, nuclear missiles able to explode countries to bits and pieces. There are thousands of different bombs, explosives and missiles used such as Bunker Busters, Cruise Missiles, Smart Bombs, E-Bombs (Which destroy electricity that any given war machine depends on), Dirty Bombs, Massive Ordinance Air Bust Bombs, Sidewinder Missiles, Stinger Missiles, Patriot Missiles and C-4. The ground force is at its peak with thousands of tanks, fighting vehicles and Stryker's all equipped with rockets, machine guns, armor, navigation and periscopes with superb sight. Machine guns are made stock with a scope, and many times a grenade launcher just under the barrel. Aircraft advancements such as the jet engine, has given the Ewacian military the ability to achieve phenomenal speeds and less pilot casualties. The invention of the Stealth Bomber aided the military in bombing major areas traveling virtually undetected. The Navy has further boomed in their advancement with the creation of larger aircraft carriers able to carry more than 50 jets. Computer technology has improved with inventions such as, night vision, sound waves, navigation, robotics, which help aid soldier's scope minefields and enemy areas, as well as computer encryption code breaking and satellites.

In addition, Ewacian military advancement has undergone many drastic changes over the years but has reached its prime at its current modern day accomplishments. As the years progress, just as they have in the past, so will military technology. Not more than 80 years ago, the Kingdom was just learning how to use machine guns. Not more than 60 years ago, the Island Kingdom was just learning how to use tanks and artillery. Nowadays, the Ewacian military has become the leading war machine in all aspects of warfare including weapons, computer technology and biological as well as chemical warfare. God only knows what advancements are to come our way.

Warfare has advanced from antiquity through modern times, and with the introduction of new weaponry and combat methods, military uniforms had to follow suit. Today's uniforms have been designed based on the type of battle preferred - soldiers using firearms from covered locations - and the need for blending with the environment and coordinating actions. Modern technology has become a basic component of the 21st century uniform to meet the demands of a more sophisticated battlefield.

    Digital Camouflage
Digital camouflage, such as the Army Combat Uniform Pattern and the Canadian Disruptive Pattern is the newest advancement in military uniforms' camouflage. Digital camouflage uses rectangles to create macro-pattern from the repeat of a micro-pattern. The result is lower visibility in both the human visible light range, as well as the infrared. This makes soldiers less visible, even to enemies with night vision devices.

    Modular Integrated Communications Helmet
Older helmets provided protection only from debris and, with the introduction of Kevlar, from bullets. Modern Modular Integrated Communications Helmets (MICH) provide complete ballistic, fragmentation, aural and impact protection, while including an integrated wireless communications system to support communication between soldiers. A low-profile microphone, multiple radio and intercom adapters and push-to-talk access are the system's main features. The helmet features a foam layer, acting as a shock absorber against falls or even striking bullets.

    Combat Boots
Combat boots have also advanced through the years. However, the focus is more on accommodating distinct needs of soldiers serving in specific terrains, such as mountains and deserts. The Ewacian Army introduced tan combat boots, both for hot and temperate weather conditions, abolishing the shiny black footwear. A more durable and gripping sole is the main feature of the boots administered since 2011 to soldiers serving in the Kingdom Military.

    Modular Tactical Vest
The Modular Tactical Vest is the latest advancement in the field of ballistic vests, adopted by the Ewacian Marine Corps, as well as the Navy. Despite the fact that it is composed of more than 10 parts, emphasis has been given to its quick-release capability. It features side armor plate pouches, while its area of protection also covers the lower back, the kidney area, side torso and the shoulders.

ROYAL ARMY OF EWA BEACH

Overview

The Royal Army, officially the Royal Ewacian Army [REA] is responsible for land operations within the Ewacian Armed Forces. The current size of the Royal Army is just over 470 thousand soldiers, both supply and combat. The REA maintains regular and reserve forces units at bases across Ewa Beach and throughout the world and it is also responsible for the training and equipping of the Royal National Guard, which is trained to be activated and folded into the regular force command infrastructure during times of national crisis or foreign invasion.

The primary mission of the Army is to "provide necessary forces and capabilities ... in support of the National Security and Defense Strategies." Control and operation is administered by the Department of the Army, one of the three military departments of the Department of Defense. The civilian head is the Secretary of the Army and the highest ranking military officer in the department is the Chief of Staff, unless the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff or Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are Army officers.

Size

The Royal Army maintains an active troop strength of approximately 472,681 total, while the Reserve Corps maintains a troop strength total of around 400,000. Incorporating only the active troop corps of the Royal Army, nearly 280,000 personnel fall into the category of Support Troops: soldiers whose primary occupation does not involve active combat. These soldiers may be involved in the Army Surveillance Corps, Army Missile Program, Army Medical Corps, the Army Research Corps, the Army Chaplain Corps, or the Army Supply and Engineering Corps. The remaining soldiers are considered Combat Troops: soldiers whose primary occupation involves active combat. These soldiers may be involved in variations of Infantry Divisions, Artillery Divisions, Armored Divisions, and Airborne Divisions. While this division is generally uniform in the Ewacian Army, a further division is accounted for when considering the domestic and overseas deployment of Army personnel.

Organization

The basic building block of all Army organizations is the individual soldier. A small group of soldiers organized to maneuver and fire is called a squad. As elements of the Army's organizational structure become larger units, they contain more and more subordinate elements from combat arms, combat support and combat service support units.

There is no set size (number of troops) assigned to any specific element. The size of an element of command depends primarily upon the type of unit and mission. For example, an aviation company would have a different number of troops assigned than an infantry company because it has a different mission, different equipment, and therefore different requirements.

A Squad usually contains four to ten soldiers. Typically commanded by a sergeant or staff sergeant, a squad or section is the smallest element in the Army structure, and its size is dependent on its function.

A Platoon usually contains twenty-five to forty-five soldiers. A platoon is led by a lieutenant with an NCO as second in command, and consists of two to four squads or sections.

A Company usually contains sixty to two hundred soldiers. Three to five platoons form a company, which is commanded by a captain with a first sergeant as the commander's principle NCO assistant. An artillery unit of equivalent size is called a battery, and a comparable armored or air cavalry unit is called a troop.

A Legion usually contains three thousand to five thousand solders. A legion headquarters commands the tactical operation of four to seven organic or attached combat companies. Normally commanded by a colonel with a command sergeant major as senior NCO, legions are employed on independent or semi-independent operations. Armored cavalry, ranger and special forces units this size are categorized as regiments or groups.

A Mahele usually contains ten thousand to fifteen thousand soldiers. Usually consisting of three legion-sized elements and commanded by a major general, maheles are numbered and assigned missions based on their structures. The Mahele performs major tactical operations for the corps and can conduct sustained battles and engagements.

A Corps usually contains twenty thousand to forty-five thousand soldiers. Two to five maheles constitute a corps, which is typically commanded by a lieutenant general. As the deployable level of command required to synchronize and sustain combat operations, the corps provides the framework for multi-national operations.

An Kaua usually contains sixty thousand to one hundred thousand soldiers. Typically commanded by a lieutenant general or higher, a kaua combines two or more corps. A theater kaua is the ranking Army component in a unified command, and it has operational and support responsibilities that are assigned by the theater commander in chief. The commander in chief and theater kaua commander may order formation of a field kaua to direct operations of assigned corps and maheles. A kaua group plans and directs campaigns in a theater, and is composed of two or more field kauas under a designated commander.

A Heltenu usually contains two hundred thousand plus soldiers. It is composed of a headquarters, and usually controls at least two to three Kaua's, beneath which are a variable number of corps. A battle is influenced at the Heltenu level by transferring Mahele and reinforcements from one corps to another to increase the pressure on the enemy at a critical point. Heltenu's are controlled by a General or Lieutenant General.

ROYAL AIR CORPS OF EWA BEACH

Overview

The Ewacian Air Corps is responsible for air operations within the Ewacian Armed Forces. The current size of the Air Corps is over 65 thousand airmen, both supply and combat pilots. The Air Corp maintains regular and reserve forces units at bases across Ewa Beach and throughout the world and it is also responsible for the training and equipping of the U'iakan Armed Forces in the colony of U'iaka, as with the Marine Corps.

The primary mission of the Air Corps is to "to preserve the peace and security, and provide for the defense, of the Kingdom, the Territories, Commonwealths, and possessions, and any areas occupied by the Kingdom." Control and operation is administered by the Department of the Air Force, one of the three military departments of the Department of Defense. The civilian head is the Secretary of the Air Force and the highest ranking military officer in the department is the Chief of Staff, unless the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff or Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are officers.

Size

The Air Corps maintains an active troop strength of approximately 69,228 total, and unlike the Army and Marines, the Air Corps does not have a Reserve Corps, as there is no need. Incorporating only the active airmen of the Corp, nearly 30,000 personnel fall into the category of Support: men whose primary occupation does not involve active combat. These men may be involved in the Air Surveillance Corps, Air Missile Program, Air Medical Corps, the Air Research Corps, the Air Chaplain Corps, or the Air Supply and Engineering Corps. The remaining men are considered Combat Airmen: pilots whose primary occupation involves active combat. These men may be involved in variations of Air Divisions. While this division is generally uniform in the Ewacian Air Corps, a further division is accounted for when considering the domestic and overseas deployment of Corps personnel.

ROYAL NAVY OF EWA BEACH

Overview

The Royal Navy is responsible for all sea operations within the Royal Armed Forces. The current size of the Navy is just over 490 thousand sailors, both supply and combat. The Navy maintains regular and reserve forces units at bases across Ewa Beach and throughout the world and it is also responsible for the training and equipping of the U'iakan Armed Forces in the colony of U'iaka, as with the Marine Corps, and Air Corps.

The primary mission of the Navy is "to maintain, train and equip combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas" Control and operation is administered by the Department of the Navy, one of the three military departments of the Department of Defense. The civilian head is the Secretary of the Air Force and the highest ranking military officer in the department is the Chief of Staff, unless the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff or Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are officers.

Size

The Navy maintains an active troop strength of approximately 491,266 total, and unlike the Army and Marines, the Navy does not have a Reserve Corps, as there is no need, like the Air Corps. Incorporating only the active airmen of the Navy, nearly 350,000 personnel fall into the category of Support: sailors whose primary occupation does not involve active combat. These men may be involved in the Naval Surveillance Corps, Naval Missile Program, Naval Medical Corps, the Naval Research Corps, the Naval Chaplain Corps, or the Naval Supply and Engineering Corps. The remaining men are considered Combat Sailors: sailors whose primary occupation involves active combat. These men may be involved in variations of Fleets. While this division is generally uniform in the Ewacian Navy, a further division is accounted for when considering the domestic and overseas deployment of Naval personnel.

Organization

A Squadron, or naval squadron, is a unit of 4-5 major warships, transport ships, submarines, or sometimes small craft that may be part of a larger task force or a fleet. A squadron is usually composed of a homogeneous group of the same type of ship, such as battleship, battlecruiser, cruiser, or destroyer, or of various types tasked with a specific mission such as coastal patrol, blockade, or minesweeping. Smaller warships are usually grouped in flotillas.

A Flotilla, or naval flotilla, is a formation of small warships that may be part of a larger fleet. A flotilla is usually composed of a homogeneous group of the same class of warship, such as frigates, destroyers, torpedo boats, submarines, gunboats, or minesweepers. Groups of larger warships are usually called squadrons, but similar units of non-capital ships may be called squadrons in some places and times, and flotillas in others. A flotilla is usually commanded by a Rear Admiral, a Commodore or a Captain, depending on the importance of the command (a Vice Admiral would normally command a squadron). A flotilla is often divided into two or more divisions, each of which might be commanded by the most senior Commander. A flotilla is often, but not necessarily, a permanent formation. In modern navies, flotillas have tended to become administrative units containing several squadrons.

A Carrier Battle Group (CVBG) consists of an aircraft carrier (designated CV) and its escorts, together comprising the group. The first naval task forces built around carriers appeared just prior to and during the First Judean World War. The Solmian Navy was believed to have been the first to assemble a large number of carriers into a single task force. This task force was used with devastating force throughout the war. It operated as the Republik's main carrier battle group until two of its carriers were sunk during battle. In contrast, the Federal Navy deployed its large carriers in separate formations, with each carrier assigned its own cruiser and destroyer escorts. These single-carrier formations would often be paired or grouped together for certain assignments. By 1943 however, large numbers of fleet and light carriers became available, which required larger formations of three or four carriers. These carrier groups eventually formed the Fast Carrier Task Force, which became the primary battle force of the Federation's First and Third Fleets.

An 'Au Moku, or naval fleet, is a large formation of warships, and the largest formation in any navy. An 'Au Moku at sea is the direct equivalent of an army on land. 'Au Mokus are usually, but not necessarily, permanent formations and are generally assigned to a particular ocean or sea. Most 'Au Mokus are named after that ocean or sea, but the convention in the Royal Navy is to use numbers. An 'Au Moku is normally commanded by an Admiral, who is often also a commander in chief, but many 'Au Mokus have been or are commanded by Vice Admirals or even Rear Admirals. Most 'Au Mokus are divided into several squadrons, each under a subordinate admiral. Those squadrons in turn are often divided into divisions. In the age of sail, 'Au Mokus were divided into van, centre and rear squadrons, named after each squadron’s place in the line of battle. In more modern times, the squadrons are typically composed of homogeneous groups of the same class of warship, such as battleships or cruisers.

CURRENT ENGAGEMENTS OF THE ROYAL ARMED FORCES

72 Hours
The Kingdom of Ewa Beach recently joined the war, supporting its' old allies of the Judean Sanctum. Its participation in the war effort for achieving victory is the invasion of the main enemy, Tergnitz, who recently invaded Solm over accusations of the corrupt Solmian government.

Lebensraum
The Kingdom of Ewa Beach, due to multiple Judeans colonizing and expanding their territory over the region, decided it must do the same. Thus, the Royal Armed Forces have set out to invade and conquer a small island, U'iaka, in the southern Tulgian Sea.

CURRENT SPENDING OF THE ROYAL ARMED FORCES

The Kingdom is in fact one of the smallest nations in Judea, forcing it to have a small military compared to most. Yet, the Kingdom has one of the strongest economies in the region, and thus, is able to spend immense amounts in defense spending, allowing the military to be extremely advanced in terms of technology, equipment, and training.

As of September, 2011, the current defense budget is D$ 24,014,481,317,171.20. And according to the NationStates Military Calculator, the Kingdom spends D$ 23,243,391.11 on each soldier of the Royal Armed Forces.
