Riverstone TAURUS

Riverstone TAURUS

The Riverstone TAURUS (Tactical Assault and Utility Remote Unmanned Sentry) is an unmanned ground vehicle with integrated anti-tank and anti-personnel weapons, and reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) systems remotely operated by network linked soldiers. It is controlled with a modified video game controller, and is suitable for a wide variety of tasks in the field. The TAURUS is fully transportable in a standard military transport aircraft or large helicopter and can be slung under most utility helicopters. Additionally, the TAURUS is capable of climbing steps up to one meter high, crossing gaps of the same distance, traversing slopes of as much as forty percent, and ford through water up to a half meter high. To protect the unit from the elements, each UGV is also issued with a weather shroud. The shroud is in essence just a large plastic clamshell that can be used to protect the system from potentially damaging snow, wind, or rain.

The main armament of the TAURUS is the 12.7mm Kord heavy machine gun as well as 600 rounds of ammunition, granting it the ability to destroy the enemy be they on the ground or in a light skinned vehicle, or even behind cover or in a low flying aircraft. For more difficult, hardened targets, the TAURUS carries four laser guided Ingwe missiles, giving it a range of up to 5,000 meters and a penetration power to blow through even the thickest armor. With a tandem charge, the anti-tank component of the TAURUS is capable of penetrating up to forty inches of armor, meaning that if necessary the TAURUS can even engage a main battle tank on the battlefield.

For its engine, the scientists and engineers at Riverstone opted to give the TAURUS a hybrid electric engine with a diesel powered generator to give it the power and endurance needed to fulfill its missions. Additionally, for missions that may take longer than expected or situations that the much needed diesel fuel is unable to be delivered, the TAURUS is equipped with an inductive charge clamp and transformer, giving the unit the ability to leach off of the local power supply and recharge its batteries if needed.

Height: 1.6m
Weight: 2.5 short tons (2.3 t)
Main armament: 12.7mm Kord machine gun
Secondary armament: 4x Ingwe anti-tank missiles
Engine: Hybrid electric with diesel generator
Guidance system: Robotic/command control

Riverstone PCP-15

The PCP-15 is a shoulder-launched, unguided and portable anti-tank rocket weapon built by Riverstone Munitions. The weapon was designed with the primary function to provide soldiers with a weapon capable of destroying armored fighting vehicles and modern main battle tanks. The weapon also had a secondary function of destroying bunkers and other fortifications. It consists of a reusable launcher, a permanently attached optical sight and a rocket that is pre-packaged in a disposable launch canister. To fire the weapon, the canister (containing the projectile) is attached to the rear-end of the launch tube.

The launcher is a filament-wound, smooth bore cylinder with an inner wear-resistant lining. The launcher's tube also has front and rear hand-grips, a padded shoulder rest, an electronic firing mechanism and safety mechanisms. It also features an extendable bi-pod that is stored within its frontal hand grip. The launcher can fire over 200 rockets and the firing mechanism's batteries have a shelf life of 10 years.

The system's sight features 4× magnification, an 8-degree field of view and a lead-compensating reticle pattern. The reticle pattern determines accurate firing of up to 400 meters and can predict the correct lead angle for a moving target.

Projectiles

92 mm High-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) anti-armour warhead
A High-explosive anti-tank warhead capable of penetrating 680 mm of Rolled homogeneous armour(RHA). Warhead uses a stand-off probe, which is located on the ogive of the projectile, in order to penetrate the armour.

95 mm HEAT anti-armour warhead
An upgraded HEAT warhead capable of penetrating 710 mm of Rolled homogeneous armour(RHA). It is less expensive to produce than the 92 mm warhead.

94 mm High Explosive Multi-Purpose warhead (HEMP)
For use against bunkers, buildings, enemy personnel in the open and light armour. This Warhead contains a hardened steel penetrator, which is filled with explosives, and detonates after a slight delay. It can penetrate 300 mm of reinforced concrete, 1500 mm of wood-lined earth fortifications and 15-20 mm of steel armour.

95 mm High-explosive anti-tank Reactive Armour (HEAT/RA) warhead
A tandem hollow charge warhead capable of penetrating Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA). The warhead possesses a small shaped charge at the end of a stand-off spike. It can penetrate 630 mm of RHA after ERA.

AR-2

The AR-2 project started in the early 1980s to replace the aging Sacnte Christi rifle. The prototype was completed in 1981, but production didn't start until 1984, and continued until the collapse of the empire in 1996. The rifle features include a folding buttstock and tritium sights for aiming in low light conditions, uses 30 round magazines, and like it's predecessor has a dual trigger group that enables semi-automatic and fully automatic fire. The severe economic hardships suffered by the Empire of Exponent almost meant that the rifle project had to be cancelled, but the military forged ahead, and produced a successful piece both for their own use as well as for export. After the empire collapsed, production of the AR-2 halted for several years as the nation tried to pull itself together. By the time the Blackhelm Confederacy asserted itself as hegemon over Hesperidisea, the AR-2 had been replaced by the Confederacy's newer AR-3 model. Some small scale production of the AR-2 still takes place, however, for both export and for the civilian market.

Weight: 3.95 kg
Length: 1,000 mm stock extended / 745 mm stock folded
Barrel length: 452 mm
Cartridge: 7.62x39mm
Action: Gas-operated, rotating bolt
Rate of fire: 750 rounds/min
Muzzle velocity: 880 m/s
Effective firing range: 300-500 m
Feed system: 30-round detachable box magazine

AR-3

The AR-3 was developed by the Vektor Corporation just after the fall of the Empire of Exponent. The rifle was first displayed on public in 1997 to replace the"old fashioned" Imperial Army AR-1 and -2 assault rifles in service with the new military of the Blackhelm Confederacy. The Vektor designers simply stripped the AR-2 rifles of all furniture, enclosed the receiver and barrel into the futuristic-looking bullpup housing, made of modern plastics. The only exposed metal piece on the entire gun is flash suppressor on the barrel. This decision saved the struggling Confederate a lot of time and money, otherwise required to develop and produce a new action, and also allowed for the remanufacture of existing stocks of the "old" AR-2 rifles into the "new" AR-3 bullpup rifles. On the other hand, the use of existing action of "traditional"origin imposed some design limitations. For example, AR-3 has no provisions for the left-hand spent cases ejection, since this would require a serious redesign of the original AR-2 receivers and bolt groups.

Another advantage of AR-3 is that it inherited all the reliability and strengths of the original AR-2 design, combined with improved balance, ergonomics and advanced sighting equipment. This design has proven to be successful with the Confederate army. It is also interesting to note that the AR-3 is relatively light, making it ideally suited for the jungle warfare so common in the Confederate Backlands, despite the fact that it has a complete and relatively large receiver, milled from steel block. The rifle comes standard with a 1X magnification optical sight with an illuminated reticle that does not require batteries. This sight is mounted on a sight rail, allowing easy removal and attachment, as well as the use of a range of different sight options. The forward handgrip has been specially designed to be easily removed and replaced with a grenade launcher. Finally, the stock has a built-in compartment which stores a cleaning kit for the rifle, removing the usual need for the soldier to carry this separately.

Weight: 3.70 kg
Length: 752 mm
Barrel length: 452 mm
Cartridge: 7.62x39mm
Action: Gas-Operated, rotating bolt
Rate of fire : 750 round/min (full auto)
Muzzle velocity: 880 m/s
Feed system: 30 round magazines
Sights: Fiber optic illuminated reflex sight

Top bubbles removed

Pythagrian made XM-1 Battle Tank

Height: 6 feet

Weight: 82 tons

Length: 18 feet

Armament: For a primary weapon, the XM-1 uses a "Bolter" 120mm smooth bore ETC cannon to fling shells at incredible velocities. For a secondary armament, it uses a pair of .50 caliber Kord coaxial machine guns, two .50 caliber Kord machine guns on the roof, and two Ingwe AT missile launchers. The top machine guns each have a bullet proof transparent aluminum"bubble" over them, to protect against bullets up to .50 caliber. The transparent aluminum bubbles open to the rear, while the tank hatch opens to the right, allowing the crew to button down when necessary, or to pull over the bubble if the guns are needed. The two pieces can not, however, be sealed at the same time. The missiles can be reloaded from INSIDE the tank, using third-generation auto-loaders. It also has four Florernst turrets on top. These fire large bullets very fast at incoming missiles.

Armor: The XM-1 utilizes amorphous metal (metal with no discernable pattern in atomic arrangement), to full effect, sandwiching it between two plates of ceramics, and covering it with triple-hardness steel. This allows it to withstand all but the toughest of attacks, but it is a bit heavy. The armor is sloped 80 degrees on the front, 60 on the turret, 40 on the sides, but only 30 at the back. It's also 4 inches thick.

Sensors/Electronics: The XM-1 uses the Great Eye sensor system (cameras, IR, etc.), and the VIOLA supercomputer for targeting, emergency intervention, and stuff like that. It utilizes a radar also.

Engine: The XM-1 uses a 3,000 horsepower engine capable of pulling it along roads at 40mph. It runs on either biodiesel, ethanol, or normal diesel.

There would be about as much knowledge on this tank as any typical Western tank IRL.

OOC: I did not make this tank. I have been using it since my original nation, Exponent, back in '05, when Pythagria gave us the DPR. I did however, specify that it uses Kords and transparent aluminum, rather than a generic bullet proof glass*

XM-2 Main Battle Tank

The XM-2 is a Confederate designed tank based heavily upon the previous main battle tank imported and built under contract from the nation of Pythagria. The XM-2 was the Confederate government's attempt to address several of the problems with the previous tank design, as well as to remove some of the more expensive, often frivolous additions that were placed on the former vehicle. The effect was a much more cost efficient, effective piece made to dominate the modern battlefield.

Armament: For a primary weapon, the XM-2 utilizes the "Bolter" 120mm smooth bore ETC cannon of its predecessor, enabling it to bring a powerful cannon onto the field. For a secondary armament, it uses a single .50 caliber Kord coaxial machine gun, as well as another .50 caliber Kord on the roof. The anti-tank missiles on the XM-1 were also replaced with by a Doomani AAT.X Acer launch system. The top machine gun, much like the two found on the XM-1, is protected by a transparent aluminum bubble. Also, as in the XM-1, missiles can be reloaded from within the tank. One of the primary differences between this and its predecessor is the removal of the Florernst turrets, which were found to be very unreliable, yet expensive and added unnecessary weight to the vehicle. These were replaced with the locally made Brabeum active protection system, which is designed to destroy incoming munitions with a shotgun like spray. Finally, the tank has an aerosol grenade discharging system which is set off when the crew receives warning that they have been painted by an enemy weapons system.

Armor: The XM-2 has an entirely different armor composition than the overly complex one on the XM-1. Instead, the XM-2 has a modular ceramic-aramid shell, capable of providing protection of blasts from up to a 155mm artillery shell within the front portion of the hull and turret. Additional armor panels can be mounted on the turret and hull, which are designed to provide full protection against projectiles. The hull of the vehicle provides protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and landmines, and the entire vehicle will be covered with radio wave absorbent material.

Sensors/Electronics: The XM-2 uses the Great Eye sensor system (cameras, IR, etc.) of its predecessor, however the VIOLA supercomputer has since been removed. A laser dazzler was also installed on the vehicle, allowing it to temporarily blind opposing crews. The tank is also equipped with nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection equipment, an automatic fire fighting system, and an electromagnetic-counter mine system. That system emits an electromagnetic pulse to disable magnetic mines and disrupt the mine's electronics before the tank reaches them.

Engine: The XM-2 uses a 940 horsepower engine capable of pulling it along roads at 40mph. It runs on either biodiesel, ethanol, or normal diesel.

Height: 7 feet 4 inches

Weight: 56 tons

Length: 32 feet

Treadwell SP-X

The 9 mm Treadwell SP-X submachine is produced in both semi-automatic for security and automatic for military use. The automatic version fires from the open bolt, while the semi-automatic version fires from the closed bolt. Both versions are blowback operated. The bolt wraps around the rear of the barrel when closed, saving on overall length. The cocking handle is located at the top of the receiver. The SP-X has an ambidextrous safety lever and a separate fire mode selector built into the trigger. The military-use version can be fired in single-shot mode by partially pressing the trigger, or in full-auto mode by fully pressing the trigger. There is also an interceptor notch that catches the bolt if it is released during the cocking but prior to activating the sear. The weapon is coated with a rust-resistant coating which doubles as a dry lubricant.

Owing to a wide variety of muzzle devices (including silencers, heat shields, and even rifle grenades), the weapon can be used to fire non-lethal and explosive projectiles by the means of blank cartridge, as well as normal ammunition. The gun also features an underfolding buttstock, made from stamped steel. The standard sights are of open type, but the SP-X can be equipped with laser aiming modules and collimating sights. The gun fires at a relatively high rate of about 1000 rounds per minute, and is well-balanced and reasonably accurate with a barrel length of 208 mm (8.2 in). It can be fired single-handedly by folding the stock forward to form a solid foregrip.

Adsertor

The Adsertor, also known by its original designation Or-21 Light Tactical Vehicle (LTV), is a 4x4 multi-purpose mine-protected armored personnel carrier (APC) manufactured by Orangeblossom Automotives. In addition to the APC role, it can also be used as a command, liaison or scouting vehicle. The Adsertor can provide ballistic protection against up to 7.62x39 mm anti-personnel rounds (STANAG 4569 level 2). Anti-tank mine protection is of level 2a and 2b (under wheel and under center), and it can also provide side protection against Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). A 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine gun can be fitted to the weapon station on the roof.

The vehicle has a height of just over seven feet, is 20 feet long and a bit over seven feet wide. It has a wheelbase of almost 11 feet and a ground clearance of about a foot and a half. Classified as a four-wheeled mine protected patrol vehicle, it has a weight of 20,900 lb, and can carry 4 personnel including the driver and commander. It is powered by a Griffincrest G16S turbo charged intercooled engine (6-cylinder, 200 kW), with 5-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive capability. It has a maximum speed in excess of 75 mph, and can negotiate up to 60% gradients and 30% side-slopes. The Adsertor also has a payload capability of 2,000 kilograms (4,400 lb). Its load bay allows the addition of mission specific equipment, thus allowing the vehicle to be adapted to different conditions. Commercial off-the-shelf parts have been used extensively in the vehicle, with the view that this will reduce the need for crew training and logistics problems.
