The "cabinet" of The Rich Port (what constitutes a cabinet, really? I never understood that...) is divided between the Triumvirate (the three stand-ins for your typical "president" or "king") who make all final executive decisions, and the Overseers of the State (internal/external affairs, focusing on the effects of the inside and outside on the body politic), Government (internal affairs, focusing on security and political stability), People (external affairs, sort of the P.R. wing of the government) and the Military (self-explanatory), all of whom handle minor details or act as advisors to the Triumvirate in moments of need.
They are all listed here. Note that all Triumvirs and all Overseers share equal power abd position, with none having "seniority" or "higher rank" over the other except where their specialties are concerned. Geddit? The Overseers are consultants to the Triumvirate, who make all final decisions independently. Hierarchy in politics is stupid. I kid.

OOC: Mine too... Also, ranks are stupid.

I never understood that...) is divided between the Triumvirate (the three stand-ins for your typical "president" or "king") who make all final executive decisions, and the Overseers of the State (internal/external affairs, focusing on changes in the body politic and public projects), Government (internal affairs, focusing on security and political stability), People (external affairs, our very own P.R. wing) and the Military (self-explanatory).
Note that the Triumvirs and the Overseers have equal power, sharing no rank or hierarchy except where their specialties lie (so don't assume just because someone is the "first" triumvir, they're the leader of the whole nation). Hierarchies are stupid. I kid.

We probably missed a few dozen lesser ministers. The lesser ministers have to answer to one or more of the above ministers.

Merit matters more.
Touche... But it makes you wonder whether the people who chose them were just lazy and picked up the first good leader they could find. That's kinda irresponsible. You don't have to be old and ugly to be good at something.

Irresponsible? What's irresponsible is to pick someone based on their looks. Besides, we don't judge a leader based on his/her looks (though it helps with his/her popularity), we judge them on whether they're capable at their job.

... Neither do we. Hell, we actually make sure they're good looking AND they're at the job. So, technically, we worked harder at it than you.

But that is favoritism. You're still judging people by their looks, not their personality or their leadership capabilities.

Ok... We pick the better leader while also making sure they're not ugly.
Are you implying that we're just choosing them because of their looks?
Sibirsky wrote:Selby doesn't pick men based on looks. He did consider his wife's looks, but she's not in the cabinet.
Yeah, that'd make Selby sound gay wouldn't it?
An excellent point.
