Though there are some sad rumors of King Tusk stepping down from the throne, none of our monarchs have abdicated since the start of Tuskamo.

Yes, abdication has happened a few times. The most recent example would be Emperor Ferdinand I abdicating in 1848 in favor of his nephew, Franz Joseph.

We were never a monarchy but we were part of the British and Ottoman Empires.

There were no abdicating British monarchs. But in the Ottoman Empire, Mustafa II abdicated in favour of his brother Ahmed III in 1703. Ahmed III gave up the throne in 1730, due to riots.

A few of our Emperors have relinquished their position.
Emperor Steele (he hated his first name) I ruled from February 11 1974 to June 3 1986. On that final day, he had an appropriate successor lined up and wanted to spend his final few years with his family.

He passed leadership to his most trusted advisor, Daniel, who became Emperor Daniel I on June 4 1986. On July 14 2022 he also relinquished his position, for he was old and in ill health.

On November 6 2103 Emperor Connor II announced to the nation that he was no longer fit to rule, as he is grief-stricken - his second daughter, Alice, had been killed in the Great Vault Flood two days earlier at the age of 25. He offers his position to his firstborn - Emily (age 28) - who refuses on the grounds that her younger sister, Tiffany (age 22) would make a far better leader. Connor II spends the rest of his life (until May 12 2121) staying very close to his family.

Those are the three Emperor's who have relinquished their position. No Empress has done so yet, and Connor II is the only leader from the above trio to be decorated - a sign that they were an exceptional leader.

Yes, most our monarchs have done so usually out of health or to leave the throne to the heir; kind of like a test run so to still have influence and see how the heir rules.

Princess Anna Marina abdicated her throne in 1975, ending her five year reign of the only independent Tolmakian monarchist state. She abdicated in order for Tolmakia to reunite, to avoid Eastern Tolmakia from collapsing, and also "for the sake of peace".

Only one Emperor abdicated and that was Wilhelm II after the outbreak of the Communist Revolution in late 1918 but the Crown Prince's secession, om the nick of time, helped prevent the ultimate collapse of the German Empire.
