ROLES
MAFIA (3)
Paparazzi
You are the PAPARAZZI! Along with <asdf>, the PUPPETEER, and <asdf>, the HOOKER, your goal is to eliminate enough townies so that you are equal to or outnumber the town (e.g. two scum-two town or one scum-no town). You may vote on a person to kill each night. Your special power is that each night, you may select one person. If you are lynched the next day, that person's role will be revealed.
Puppeteer
You are the PUPPETEER! Along with <asdf>, the PAPARAZZI, and <asdf>, the HOOKER, your goal is to eliminate enough townies so that you are equal to or outnumber the town (e.g. two scum-two town or one scum-no town). You may vote on a person to kill each night. Your special power is that once per game, during the night, you may select a player to make your puppet. At the end of the day, that player will be revealed to have been a puppet and their vote will switch to whoever you voted for.
Hooker
You are the HOOKER! Along with <asdf>, the PAPARAZZI, and <asdf>, the PUPPETEER, your goal is to eliminate enough townies so that you are equal to or outnumber the town (e.g. two scum-two town or one scum-no town). You may vote on a person to kill each night. Your special power is that every night, you may select one person to roleblock. This person, at the start of the day, will receive a telegram saying that they have been roleblocked and were unable to execute their night action.
TOWN (10)
Townsperson
You are a generic member of Unit 8! You have no night actions; you win once all the mafia have been eliminated. You may vote on a person to lynch each day, as described in the rules.
Jailer
You are the JAILER! You win once all the mafia have been eliminated. You may vote on a person to lynch each day, as described in the rules. During the day, you select one player - at night, that player is blindfolded and sent to jail. You may communicate with the player, although if the player is mafia they cannot communicate on the mafia chat. The player is protected from all night actions, but neither you nor the person jailed will be notified if they were targeted for a night action. The player is also roleblocked for that night.
You also have a one-use Banhammer that will kill a man instantly. At the end of the night, only once, you may select to use the banhammer on your prisoner via TG, killing them at the start of the day.
Cop
You are the COP! You win once all of the mafia have been eliminated. You may vote on a person to lynch each day, as described in the rules. Each night, you select one player to investigate. At the end of the night, you are notified by TG whether or not the player is mafia. If you investigate the Godfather, it will return a clean scan.
Oracle
You are the ORACLE! You win once all of the mafia have been eliminated. You may vote on a person to lynch each day, as described in the rules. Each night, you select one player. If you die that night, or get lynched the next day, that player's alignment will be revealed!
RULES
1. All players must play to win.
2. Day phases are 48 hours long. Night phases are 24 hours long.
3. Posting a brief message like "go town!" or "go scum!" immediately after your death is allowed. Posting a message like "I'M THE COP I SCANNED DEATHLLAMA HE IS GUILTY" is not allowed, nor is posting at all more than five minutes after your death.
4. Encryption that cannot be decoded without outside tools to decipher is forbidden. Saying things like "I Admit My Thoughts Have Erroneously Chronicled the OP" is okay, though.
5. Players may not communicate outside of the thread about mafia. Mafia may not communicate on the Mafia Chat, or outside of the thread in general, about mafia during the day. During the night, mafia may only communicate about mafia on the Mafia Chat, or publicly on the thread. Non-players may not post on this thread unless they're me or a mod.
6. All players are forbidden from cheating.
7. All players must post at least three times with some content (saying "THIS IS A POST" "SO IS THIS" "DONE FOR THE DAY" is not okay. If you're unsure about whether or not you've done enough, do more. If you're still unsure, good news - I will post an occasional update about who has contributed enough to avoid replacement. All players must also vote at least once per phase, although they may unvote and not vote again and still be counted as having voted.
MECHANICS
Voting is done like so: using two octothorpes, VOTE, and the person of the name you want to vote. For example, saying ##VOTE SUPER-LLAMALAND. You can say other things in the post, like ##VOTE SUPER-LLAMALAND FOR BEING AWESOME, but things like ##SUPER-LLAMALAND, #VOTE SUPER-LLAMALAND, or VOTE SUPER-LLAMALAND are not allowed. If you do not want a lynch, post ##VOTE NOLYNCH. Nicknames like ##VOTE LLAMA are allowed as long as I can tell who's being referred to.
The candidate with the most votes will be lynched. If no lynch has the most votes or there is a tie, nobody will be lynched.
In addition, if more than half of players alive vote ##END, the phase will automatically end. Players will not be penalized for not voting / participating if ##END is dropped.
