I love it. It's what I've wanted to study for like ten years, and it's lived up to my hopes. It is stressful. They expect a lot of work and standards of quality are high. I feel like giving up sometimes, but that's pretty normal. I really enjoy most of my subjects, though. I just wish we got more practical experience in hospitals. I feel like I'll still be pretty unprepared by the time I graduate.
Mmm. Here in Australia, I think we have the same issues with experience regarding nursing and such, but for interest's sake, there's a really cool government program for GPs, where you get placed into a rural town after you leave Uni for a stint.
But hey, you'll be fine
. The rest of your cohort know as much as you do, and I'm certain you'll be in good hands when you start nursing out in the Real World. Plenty of experienced nurses prepared and expecting to have to tell you all which way is up.
EDIT: Oh, you ARE Australian. 'ello, comrade!
