Will the Aurentine Name for the party be included? It'd be a nice way to connect us with the Aurentine speaking population. Or is that jumping the scope of what we already voted on?

As a member of the recently-merged Libertarian Freedom Party, could I please be added to the member roster?

Skeckoa: Yeah, but someone else needs to do the translating.

This is great! Now that we have that done and settled, let's get to work obstructing the Socialists. :)
Like I said I should have the rough draft of the first act done by tonight. We have some company, first.

I beilieve I've added everyone to the member list. If you're not on it, let me know.

We currently hold 39 seats in the Senate.

Now to make a logo for the newly merged party. MS, where was that proposal you wrote?

Yes, I sent it to your mailbox. If you deleted it, it is basically a slanted "Libertarian" word in yellow with a black border, with the slanted "L" being at a 2:00 angle, with an arrow on that L pointing upwards at also a 2:00 angle. Underneath in blue and smaller is "Party of Aurentina," not italicized. The italicized L is supposed to represent the old symbol of TANSTAAFL, and could also be contrasted with the downwards arrow of the Iron Front.

We currently hold 39 seats in the Senate.

nice, this makes us on par with the two fascist parties then.

NOTE: All Libertarians are advised to vote in the Senate Chamber on these acts:

The Equality Act: NO
Social Welfare Act: NO
Time Zone Act: FREE VOTE
Youth Senate Act: YES
System of Measurement Act: FREE VOTE
Order of Aurentina Establishment Act: YES
Name Control and Registration Act: NO

We don't use whips, so "Free Vote" means it doesn't really matter that much in this case. All else is advised. :)

You have a link for these bills? Going through a lot of pages on the forum is a pain. Never mind!

Um, I should tell you that a couple are no longer in this party or the senate (Detectatia, Arcturus Novus). The others, I don't know.

Agreed. I would not include inactives and those who voted against the merger (i.e. Gaveo)

Libertarian Capitalist Party Headquarters

"It's up on the right, right Tim?"

"No you damned idiot! It's straight ahead!"

"Calm down!"

The white Renault van came to an abrupt stop just outside the headquarters of the new headquarters building. Both men inside were dressed in blue jeans and a turquoise shirt that said "MOVERS" on the back. They both stepped out of the van, and went around to the right side door, and opened it and both stepped inside of the van. The interior of the van was filled with computer screens and monitors, headsets and radios. The door was quickly shut, the rear of the van had 2 windows on the back doors both of which were heavily tinted, the rear area of the van is not viewable from the front. The van sits there for several hours.

Slowly, a white and green sedan pulled up on the road opposite the entrance to the party HQ, just in front of the Movers van. Clearly marked as a Gendarme car, the men inside wore the uniforms and carried weapons - an SLR rifle was prominently displayed on a gun-rack between the two seats. To the outside observer, they were clearly observing the building in an informal manner, one eating some fish and chips while the other continued his progress through a Bernard Cornwell book.

"Greetings sirs." Vice Chairman John Randall spoke as the car moved behind the van. "May I question what's inside that van, or more importantly, what brings you to the Headquarters of the Libertarian Party?

Lol I just vote no on everything to be an obstructionist. If you can't have no government, then a government that doesn't get shit passed is the next best thing.

Forcing naming standards. IMO people should be able to name their child what they want. Not this:

Section II - Prohibited Names
1: All names that are deemed fall under the following catergories are not deemed legal and will be required to be changed upon the registration of the birth.
a)Insults (e.g/ IHatePaul Jones, ScrewThePolice Smith)
b) Vulgar Language (e.g/MuricaFuckYeah Jones, StupidLOLbertarians Smith)
c) Obscene Language (e.g/ Bestiality Jones, Fesces Smith)
d) Brand Names and Trademarks (e.g/ Enjoy Coca Cola Jones, KFC Smith)
e) Legally Valid Prefixes (e.g/Doctor Jones, Second Lieutenant Smith
f) Numerical Values (e.g/ 4Chan Jones, 3Hill Smith)

2: Any name closely resembling the aforementioned prohibited categories may be forbidden at the discretion of a judge.

Save maybe brand names and trademarks, I mostly disagree. I'll won't force the LPA to vote this way, but it's recommended to vote against it.

Well, that's okay I guess. I wouldn't recommend being that obstructionist due to reputation reasons; just look at what happened to the Republican party.

Which ones? The ones who want to expand the power of the state at the expense of invidual liberty, weaken all political opposition and monopolize their standing in government, create a state-controlled economy with heavy regulations and possible nationalization of private property and restrict the right of the people to self-defense; or the ones who wear snazzy symbols and think absolutism is hip?

Both of them. By "on par" I mean "numerically" of course.

Here's a rough outline of my first act. Looking for sponsors as well.

The Freedom From Taxation Act
Authored by: Minarchist States (LPA)
Sponsors:

Preamble:

PROPOSED

Section One: Explain tax cap on the lower class (25%)

Section Two: Explain tax cap on the middle class (50%)

Section Three: Explain tax cap on the upper class (75%)

Section Four: Concerning "sales tax" and etc.

I am against taxes in general and I'd rather not have any. That being said, a tax rate of 50 and 75 percent is absolutely unacceptable.

Indubitably, especially with the lower cap being too high as well. I'm for a sales tax, and just a sales tax, even though I wished there were no taxes. I'll make a counter proposal, however. How about 10, 20, 30?

Guys, these are tax CAPS. Under this act, the socialist government cannot raise taxes ABOVE these values.
