I understand, but it is important that the Senate has some say over it if it needed to intervene.

Plus, it'd be ludicrous for the Senate to actually overrule it but it should be there just in case.

I just need the minor amendment and I'll happily sponsor it

How would

REQUIRES 2/3rd's majority of the senate in order to repeal any safety standard set in place by the CAA.

Note, the bill can be passed with a simple majority, as any other. The bill can be repealed as any other bill would normally be. That part of the bill is referring to the Specific Safety Standards setup by the 2 organizations that are there to regulate and enforce aviation.

Excuse?

Senator, your work is not automatically valid and requiring some "excuse" to oppose it. Our opinions are valid because we offer them. You can choose to criticize them, but I don't see any substantive criticism here.

All it asks is there is a list of people who can vote by simply saying "I wish to vote", it prevents the feared boneyard resurrections during the election and makes it much fairer.

It's sensible and it ensures a fair election

I'm not convinced you quite understand the system you're trying to reform yet. Regardless, see below.

Oneracon wrote:

Well for the purposes of this Act "vote" refers to voting in a presidential election, I'll update the wording for clarity

1. In which democracies is there an attempt to limit Senators voting on anything?

2. Anyway, we vote through our NS accounts; how is this bill supposed to affect that OOCly, and isn't such metagaming properly left to the Administrators?

3. This addresses a non-problem, regardless. All claims of systematic election fraud have been debunked, and all come from the same side that has abused our voting system and then claimed it was precedent. I don't blame the new rightist Senators for getting swept up in the fervor, but those who have been around longer should be ashamed of themselves.

Geilinor wrote:
Battlion wrote:
How is saying "I want to vote" in a thread and ticking a box in your Senate application a hurdle... It's not a hurdle at all.

Why would a Senator have to sign up to vote? According to the RP, our constituents elected us. It's our job to vote. If we don't vote at all, we might as well quit the Senate.

This.

Voter Registration Act

Sponsors: Gallup [NIFP], United Soviet Jason Republic [LFP]

The Senate of the Aurentine Commonwealth,

RECOGNIZING that order must be imposed in the electoral process;

OBSERVING that a simple registration system would be the best prevention of fraudulent votes;

HEREBY ENACTS the following:

    Register of Electors
  1. The Electoral Commission shall maintain a Register of Electors.
  2. Any senator may apply to the Register of Electors at any time except during either round of a presidential election.
  3. Senators shall remain on the Register of the Electors for the duration of the time they serve as a Senator.
  4. Applications to become a senator shall include a box asking "Do you wish to be added to the Register of Electors for presidential elections?"

    Candidacy and Voting
  5. Only Senators who are on the Register of Electors shall be eligible to vote or run a presidential election.

I'm afraid I don't understand why we need this bill. What is the purpose of the register of electors?

Senator, it sounds to me like you understand the bill completely.
