The first thing we must do when asked if our constitution is still relevant is to answer what it actually means for something to be relevant. If we do not define what relevance is when we talk about things, then we find ourselves lost in an attempt to talk about something that we don’t even know. In order for this essay to contain a shred of coherency, I will define a relevant document to be any document that significantly impacts public discourse and our lives. Using this definition, I postulate that the constitution is very relevant, and it would be difficult to assert otherwise.
