Rest In Peace, Lathuria

Postby Leneptus » Wed Dec 21, 2011 7:13 pm

Right now, i'm sitting in a friend's house, on his computer, while his family (mother, little sister, and little brother) are in the living room, along with quite a few other friends. We are all mourning his early, horrifying death.
I had to write something.
I'm not sure how many of you knew "Lathuria" by his real name, Donovan, but he was a friend of mine, though I am a few years older than him. We went to the same high school.
Well, he was hit, and killed, by a drunk man (actually a teacher at our school) three days ago. He lived for approximately three minutes afterwards (according to his mom), and did not make it to the hospital even by helicopter. Attempts to revive him were not successful. He was walking home from a friend's house, where a few of us were playing Modern Warfare. I'm not completely sure why i'm writing this. Perhaps as a discussion about drunk drivers? Maybe as a discussion of Donovan? I don't know. .
If you knew Donovan at all, in real life or here, you probably know that he deserves a lot more than what he got, and a certainly more than a god damn thread in remembrance of him.
But I had to write something

"Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight that ripened grain; I am the gentle autumns’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there;

I did not die."

Image
Donovan is on the left, i'm on the far right. Donny couldn't take a picture with what he was smoking, so he had to put it out for the pic

Image
Donovan on the left, with a particularly big dip in. Tito, in the middle, has cupcake on his face. The cupcake in question is held by his little brother, on the right.

Image
Donovan, pre-haircut. I do believe he let those girls straighten his hair.

I knew him briefly, as we were in one rp together. I'm incredibly sorry for his untimely death, and I offer my condolences, though that is not and will not be enough.

I don't really know what to say about this, it is like being told to do an impromptu eulogy for someone you barely know. But, from how little I interacted with him, I knew he was a nice guy. I once knew someone through internet forums who died, and its still just as painful. I hope you and your friends are able to get through this. I offer my greatest condolences.

We'll make it. Its just going to be... difficult. Right now, I think im too much in shock to actually fully feel the effects of this shit. Right now, i'm going through all his old posts on here. A bit weird, but its comforting, for some reason.

L-lathuria?! That's horrible! I knew him pretty well at one point, a few months ago; he was in the original Fall of Gods for a while. I'm shocked that such a horrible thing could happen, and I wish I could offer more than my condolences...

We should get this thread archived once it's said and done, as a permanent memento for Lathuria.
