Milks Empire
IM Contacts: Ask in a private message.
Player Profile:
The People's Democratic Republic of Milks Empire
Real Name: Charles Fee
Age: 19
General Location: Central New York
General Political Affiliation [if any]: registered Democrat on paper, but progressive libertarian democratic socialist in practice
General Religious Affiliation [if any]: In the process of converting to Roman Catholicism
Where Did You Find NationStates?: Facebook
Have you read any of Max Barry's books: no, but Jennifer Government looks like a good read
Professional Goal: I don't know yet.
How many hours a day do you watch TV?: Depends - 1 or 2 at home; almost never on campus
What is your favorite genre of music: US country, though anything but screaming or rap is fine by me
Other information: Rain check?
Political Beliefs:
Abortion - Women should have the right to choose. FYI, the point of abortion isn't to kill anyone, but to end a pregnancy. We need to work towards getting to where the latter doesn't result in the former.
Affirmative Action - It should be based on socioeconomic status, not skin color.
Arms Trade - Stop selling to Israel!
Death Penalty - Totally useless. We'd get more out of chain gangs than this.
Drugs - This should be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Economic System - I do not trust big business whatsoever to regulate itself. We also need a strong safety net.
Education - Stop the stranglehold of standardized tests!
Electoral College in USA Elections - This thing needs to go. End of discussion.
Environmentalism - Since we all eat, drink, and breathe, it would be smart of us to watch what we dump.
Euthanasia - For people who are already going to die, and for whom that death will be painful, let them make that choice.
Evolution or Creation? - Leave religion in religion classes and teach only science in science classes.
FCC - They should have the power only to regulate who gets what frequency to prevent 70 different stations from having the same frequency. No censorship!
Gay Marriage - Religion does not belong in this discussion. Full stop. The law should recognize it for everyone.
Gun Control - Make sure you're not nuts and that you know what you're doing.
Health Care - It is a right, not a privilege. Vital care should be provided as such, but Barbie Bimbo is on her own for her billionth boob job.
Immigration Policies - Streamline the process and allow more people in.
Income Tax - End the loopholes for the rich.
Israel & Palestine - Israel needs to stop the genocide. Hamas needs to stop the rocket attacks and suicide bombings.
Philosophy - Eet iz too filisoficul. Leev it to Ceiling Cat.
Political Party Affiliation - Registered as a Democrat. Seriously reconsidering that.
President Bush & American Policies - George Bush and his lackeys need to be tried for their war crimes.
President Obama & American Policies - Barack Obama needs to stop kowtowing to the far right. Needs to do less of what Bush did. Needs to tell Israel it no longer has carte blanche.
Prostitution - License each prostitute on an individual basis. Allow independent prostitutes to set up brothels if they so wish.
Religion - I'm converting to Catholicism, but I'm not a fanatic.
Social Security - Extend the FICA tax to everyone including the rich and stop using it for pet projects.
The UN - John Bolton was wrong. Even if it is just a big debate forum, the world needs that.
Veganism & Vegetarianism - To each his/her own.
War in Iraq - Most useless thing since Vietnam.
War on Terror - Unwinnable. Ideas are bulletproof.

That's not what an opposition to gay marriage generally implies, though. Opposition to gay marriage and xenophobia may coincide in many cases, but they are not inherent in each other (at least, the latter is not inherent in the former).

So? If you are against gay marriage, you are a homophobe. Homophobia is a more specific form of xenophobia. Therefore, a homophobe can be described as a xenophobe. But since so many people are of the opinion it doesn't make sense, I don't want to seem idiotic, so I'll change it.

That's just it. Xenophobia implies a fear of all things different or strange, while homophobia is only a very specific case of that. Xenophobia implies homophobia, but the converse is not true.

I see a lot of electoralcollegeophobia and secondamendmentphobia here. And rather worrysome, a lot of support for collectivism, the 20th century didn't teach a clear enough lesson there I'd say.

And I'm gonna take a leaf from the marxist playbook and say 'real capitalism has never been tried anywhere', if it was, everyone would become rich(er). Socialism only makes everyone poor(er). The capitalismophobia here is unbelievable :eyebrow:

-Amount of money the Jones family spent: $38,200
-Amount of new debt added to the credit card: $16,500

Professional Goal: English Teacher in Japan
How many hours a day do you watch TV?: 2 maybe 3, I hate commercials so that can shorten the time.
What is your favorite genre of music: J-pop

Political Beliefs:
Abortion: Yes, your body, your choice.
Affirmative Action: Yes, if needed.
Arms Trade: Make sure civilians don't get guns *cough, don't like the American gun laws* And make sure only Ministries of Defence can trade in arms of war.
Death Penalty: Taking of a useless life by someone with that job, no. Rotting in prison is way better.
Drugs: Allowed, to make it look less sneaky to civilians and less exotic so people won't be tempted. I don't do drugs even if it allowed, just because it doesn't tempt me, as it isn't exciting and law-breaking.
Economic System: Only at extremes a government should act. Let economy solve itself usually works.
Education: Give kids a look into some visions but don't restrict to purely religious views or just Darwinism, it broadens their vision. Make kids aware of things soon enough, to prevent any incidents like teenage moms and drug addictions.
Electoral College in USA Elections: We just treated this at uni, and the system seems unfair to me. Direct elections ftw!
Environmentalism: More green stuff should be subsidized and the US shouldn't be hiding in the corner, as they should help clear that huge footprint of them as well.
Euthanasia: Allowed, same as abortion; your body, your choice
Evolution or Creation?: Creation, but don't teach that in schools.
FCC: What's censuring? Never heard of it.... Ooh more boobies on TV! Well censorship is a bit useless. If you get offended easily you should or live with it or watch Discovery Channel all day long.
Gay Marriage: Allowed, government has nothing to say about true love.
Gun Control: Civilians = no guns
Immigration Policies: The only crucial thing is a good language course, then your are cordially invite to join a nation.

Philosophy: Believe what you want to believe, just don't push it through other people's throats.
Political Party Affiliation: Socialist Party
President Bush/American Policies: Bush changed the USA into a bad guy with ostrich-like foreign affairs. I think Obama is going the right way and made me trust US politics again.
Prostitution: Legalise it, feel the same way about this as I do about drugs.
Religion: Freedom of religion, have a problem with someone move to another city. Have a problem with the picture in general, move to a nation that does support your beliefs. Leave other believers that are heretics in your eyes alone.
Social Security: If necessary.
The UN: Nice way to keep nations from pulling at each others hairs and a way to have nations have a say about things they think should change.
Veganism/Vegetarianism: My rabbit is a true vegan, I support him all the way. Sorry for the joke, vegans/vegetarians, I have nothing against you. Just not my thing.
War in Iraq: Preemptive strike? *cough BS... C'mon leave them alone and let them solve it themselves.
War on Terror: It's getting bigger but having passenger-annoying rules is not the way to go.

War on Terror: Stupid cuz it's Bush's government-Mossad-AlQaeda's fault over 911, and besides, it's a war of attrition, we still haven't captured Osama Bin laden, i wonder why troops are being sent to rough environments to shoot a few ppl in turbans, it wont stop terrorism.
War in Afghanistan: stupid

IM Contacts: - Given if asked.

Player Profile: - The Holy Empire of Dark Side Messiahs
Real Name: Rob 'Bubba' Hennessy
Age: 27
General Location: Lake Stevens, Washington (USA)
General Political Affiliation: No side in perticular
General Religious Affiliation: Believer/Anti- Organized religion
Where Did You Find NationStates?: Through a friend, he has been on here for years.
Have you read any of Max Barry's books: Just started reading Jennifer Government
Professional Goal: To be able to take care of my family
How many hours a day do you watch TV?: 3 at least
What is your favorite genre of music: Metal, hard rock, classic rock
Other information:
I have a unique way of perceiving things and my logic defies most common beliefs by people. The common words used to describe it have been "ignorant and illogical" but that was said because people don't like anything that challenges the 'norm'.

Political Beliefs:
Abortion should only be legal in cases of rape, incest or if the pregnancy can lead to the mother's death.
Affirmative Action ruined this country. It has been around long enough and promotes Reverse Racism. People can't even talk about issues like rising gas prices because you might offend someone on a racial level.
Arms Trade should stop to other countries, they'll just end up using our own weapons against us.
Death Penalty should be enforced and should have an express lane.
Drugs like Marijuana and other 'soft' drugs should be legalized, regulated and sold like liquor. Heavy drugs to, but make penalties for breaking laws under the influence EXTREMELY sever.
Economic System: Mixed economy
Education should be paid for completely by the Government, college as well.
Electoral College in USA Elections has to go, otherwise your vote doesn't truly count.
Environmentalism should have started sooner. We are fucking up the planet everyday and I believe we started going green too late.
Euthanasia should be an option for the terminally ill.
Evolution or Creation? Both, God created man and we have evolved over time.
FCC needs to lighten up and get laid.
Gay Marriage - This is America, Gay people should have the right to lose half their shit just like the rest of the population.
Gun Control means using both hands. Everyone has the right to bare arms.
Healthcare should be paid for by the Government or should be free/low cost with everyone receiving the same level of care.
Immigration Policies need to change, close the boarders now! If you're in this country illegally, you get deported, no loopholes to become a citizen. That also makes me add that America should reenact an old law... the Federal Language Law - an English-speaking requirement for all citizens of the US.
Income Tax needs to be a flat rate.
Israel/Palestine can kill each other over whatever it is they're fighting for.
Philosophy to me is a fuzzy logic, one cannot be told how to view things but must view things for themselves.
Political Party Affiliation: None
President Obama/American Policies scare me. I didn't vote for the man, so as long as he takes care of things and gets this country working again... no problems here.
Prostitution should be legal and highly regulated/taxed
Religion has been corrupted. All organized religion is a perversion of God's message.
Social Security won't be around when I retire.
The UN is a joke. 'Oh, we'll sanction you!' Yeah, that'll scare them.
Veganism/Vegetarianism: I'm a member of PETA, People Eating Tasty Animals. 'Save a cow, eat a vegetarian!'
War in Iraq was George W. Bush's way of trying to make the American people forget about Afghanistan after Osama bin Laden secretly escaped to Pakistan. (oh yeah, I said it and George W. knows I'm telling the truth... don't you George?)
War on Terror has cost a lot for what has been done so far.

Yep, I'm a Geek. I'm also a left-wing, anti-illegal, pro-life, gun loving, white, college educated, politically informed, socially abrasive, conservatively liberal male with a big mouth...deal with it.
!!!WARNING!!!
I give it a 1 in 4 chance you will not like my view on certain things,
you might find my opinion off kilter or even offensive.
I don't give a flying fuck how my position makes you feel,
it's my opinion and you won't change my mind.
So save yourself a lot of wasted time trying to argue with me,
don't compile a list of of my posts so you can try to point out the flaws in my beliefs,
you will not win.

Threlizdun
Real Name: Jackson Wright
Age: 13
General Location: Southwestern Virginia, United States
General Political Affiliation [if any]: I support the Communist Party USA, but am an anarcho-communist
General Religious Affiliation [if any]: Eclectric Wiccan
Where Did You Find NationStates?: Google search for political simulator
Have you read any of Max Barry's books: No
Professional Goal: Haven't decided. Most likely author, zoologist, or politician.
How many hours a day do you watch TV?: 1 (I play a lot of video games though)
What is your favorite genre of music: Alternative
Other information: I am an animal activist, environmentalist, anarchist, and communist. I consider myslef to be an intellectual, as I have an I.Q. of 135. No, I actually do spend a lot of time researching several opinions on different topics and do not spout whatever my parents say. This is certainly evident as they are just fairly strong Democrats, while I support the Communist Party.

Abortion: For, except in very late pregnancies
Affirmative Action: For the most part, yes
Arms Trade: No
Death Penalty: Undecided. I don't know whether I am completely against it, or only for it in the case of majot felonies.
Drugs: Legalization of all. Educate people about them, but it's their bodies.
Economic System: Full Communism (not Socialism)
Education: Major increase in spending, plus free college education provided to everyone
Electoral College in USA Elections: Eliminate and replace with popular vote
Environmentalism: Much inforcement on greenhouse gas emissions and major spending on alternative energy sources
Euthanasia: Legalization for consensual use
Evolution or Creation?: Evolution.
FCC: Freedom for the artist. Warn the viewer before hand, but don't censor.
Gay Marriage: National Legalization. Liberty means that you do not deny people the rights that you have. I personally think that the government has no right to interfere in ANY form of consensual marriage.
Gun Control: I used to be strongly for, and still for the most part am, but I'm not sure what exactly to think now
Immigration Policies: Very easy and simple immigration policies
Income Tax: If not 100%, then very high
Israel/Palestine: No more money, arms, and supplies for Israeli military rule in Palestine. Free Palestine!
Philosophy: Pacifism except in dire need, equality, freedom, tolerance, liberty, anarchism, communism
Political Party Affiliation: Support Communist Party USA, but I don't really like the idea of having political parties at all
President Obama/American Policies: Awesome, but he should try MUCH harder on the Health Care Bill, and I dissagree with his state choice veiw on same-sex marriage
Prostitution: Goverment run until transition to anarcho-communism
Religion: Full acceptance and tolerance of all nonviolent religions, but do not let them enter politics
Social Security: undecided/not well enough informed
The UN: Unbalanced. Other nations should be given more say.
Veganism/Vegetarianism: I plan on becoming a vegetarian once I leave the house. Currently I don't eat beef, but my parents won't let me go further than that for convenience reasons.
War in Iraq: Withdrawl
War on Terror: Majorly Conservative Capitalist Christian based. We should try to find Osama and get out. No influencing other nations governments. No war for oil. No destruction of the Islamic people and their faith.

Picture: No thanks.
IM Contacts: No Thanks
Player Profile:
The Commonwealth of Acadzia
Real Name: Jordan
Age: 19
General Location: Eastern Canada.
General Political Affiliation [if any]: Social democrat leanings, though I've got a bit of a populist, slightly right-wing "pull yourself up by your boot-straps" streak, too.
General Religious Affiliation [if any]: Nondenom Christian, seriously considering Catholicisim at the moment.
Where Did You Find NationStates?: Magazine article a looong time ago. I just came back.
Have you read any of Max Barry's books: No.
Professional Goal: Dipolomacy, education, or an NGO.
How many hours a day do you watch TV?: 0, unless it's Thursday. Then I watch for like an hour.
What is your favorite genre of music: Folk, reggae, corny pop-rock.
Other information: I'm studying Political Science and History. My favourite movie is Gangs of New York.

Political Beliefs:

Abortion: Pro-life
Affirmative Action: In favour.
Arms Trade: Canada buying used helicopters? Ok. Selling weapons to unstable nations? Not ok.
Death Penalty: Opposed completely.
Drugs: Are bad, mmkay?
Economic System: Capitalism with an effective social security net. Social security should not be a viable alternative to working, but nor should it be hard to access. If you figure out how to do this, lemme know!
Education: Should be a high priority for any state.
Electoral College in USA Elections: An anachronism, but as a Canadian citizen I can't really diss it. We got anarchronisms left and right.
Environmentalism: Is ok when it isn't anti-humanism.
Euthanasia: Always wrong.
Evolution or Creation?: Theistic Evolution.
FCC: Generally good, can get power hungry.
Gay Marriage: In favour.
Gun Control: In favour of moderate gun control, like registration, background checks.
Immigration Policies: Amnesty for illegals, provided they will integrate to society.
Income Tax: Ok, I guess.
Israel/Palestine: Not a black and white issue.
Philosophy: Is generally ok.
Political Party Affiliation: New Democratic Party of Canada. -3.98, -2.88 on the Political Compass.
President Obama/American Policies: Generally a favourable view.
Prostitution: Should be illegal, but punitive toward the customers not the sex workers.
Religion: Capable of good or evil, depends on how people use it. I am devoutly religious, and my religion influences my worldview greatly.
Social Security: Good.
The UN: Is a useful forum and an example of the power of diplomacy. Granted, their track record isn't great when push comes to shove, but overall, nations generally obey.
Veganism/Vegetarianism: Not my cuppa.
War in Iraq: Wrong to go in, but wrong to leave until it's stable.
War on Terror: You can't declare war on something abstract like terror. Socioeconomic factors and overall nihilism leads to terrorism more than anything, so moar foreign aid.
