The similes are unnecessary and borderline trolling.

The man appointed two justices of the supreme court, administered over both a record economy and a receding one, and successfully administered two wars while having to deal with an opposition party majority in congress. A congress with a 11% approval rating at terms end. All in all, it was a pretty mixed bag. Just an average president by historical standards. Easily not the "worst ever" as a lot of posters with a less than comprehensive historical knowledge seem to claim.

the best thing about his legacy?

his administration ended smoothly without his trying to institute martial law so he could continue on.

the whole martial law thing being a common nightmare put forth by the nuts of whatever party is out of power when a 2 term president approaches the end of his presidency.

Shoddy lending practices? Started under Clinton. All bubbles go boom.
What you failed to address is how Bush administered over taking the country out of the 9/11 recession prior to the DOW hitting RECORD highs in 2005.

Afghanistan was unnecessary? Your viewpoint seems to be at odds with a good sized chunk of the country, liberal and conservative alike.

Find the nearest mirror.

Trolling: Posts that are made with the aim of angering people. (like 'ALL JEWS ARE [insert vile comment here]' for example). While Trolls often make these posts strictly in an attempt to provoke negative comment, it is still trolling even if you actually hold those beliefs. Intent is difficult to prove over the internet, so mods will work under their best assumptions.

Many presidents have bad moments. Many presidents have black marks on their administrations. Many presidents (maybe all) make mistakes. But it is a precious few, a very small few, where we can say that country is directly worse of, in pretty much every single meaningful way, economically, domestically, internationally, militarily, every single way worse off for their presidency. That their administration did not mearly have "bad parts" or even predominantly bad parts, but that the country, as a whole, was demonstrably harmed by their presedency.

George W. Bush is one of those presidents. That will be his legacy.

I blame Bush almost entirely for the rest of the world hating us. Some of that is put on Congress too as Congress was a Republican majority most of the time.

I also put some of the blame the people who voted him into office twice. I happily sit on the edge and say "Don't look at me! I didn't vote for him either time."

Jeez, I understand having a few black marks, but come on. The guy's presidency is one giant ink stain.

Generally, less than a year is not going to give any meaningful context to anyone's "legacy".
Give it at least a decade.
