I am under the impression that certain members of this board support pedophilia- that is, the act of an adult engaging in sexual contact with a minor. How can you justify this? It is a selfish and sickening practice that not only ruins the lives of children directly affected, but also affects the quality of life of all other children when reactionary parents impose restrictions upon their children.

In my opinion anyone who supports this practice is a revisionist collaborator and requires removal from society lest they harm an innocent child.

In my opinion the word abuse is misused, in my experiences as a child I was never once torn, excessively beaten, sexually tortured or raped.

Maybe Irresponsible contact with a minor should be used instead. (only in non violent/harmful sexual situations.)

'able' seems to be the sticking point here. When children should be able to give consent is a difficult thing to quantify. Personally, I think considering the ease with which children can be coerced by perceptions of adult authority, I have to say that I agree with arbitrary age restrictions on legal ability to consent.

Imo there is absolutely nothing wrong with paedophilia in itself... I believe it to be a sexual orientation and the paedophiles cant help it. The issue is how this sexuality is carried out. If the child gives consent then I do not see any reason for this to be a crime. If the child does not consent then it should be classed as rape and punished.

People need to differ between pedophiles (people who have an attraction to children) and childabusers, you can be the former without being the latter, hell, you can even be the latter without being the former (certain sadists for example).

As long as an pedophile keeps their hands of kids they should receive help and support, because god knows that's an fucked up and hard preference to have, not to mention that most pedophiles are victims of abuse them selves.
I think society's hysteria when it comes to pedo feelings is counter productive, it stops these ppl from seeking help/coming forward which makes it dangerous.

More research should be done about this but I also think that the outlawing of fictional/virtual underage porn (stories, animation, cgi) is an bad idea.
