More like the suburbs southeast of Houston, TX.
Because sometimes even national leaders just want to hang out

Don't be so sure. Here in Texas most young people are inclined towards conservatism. I personally have always been repulsed by liberalism, even to a greater extent than most.
Sarkhaan wrote:The users here tend to be young and/or educated, resulting in a skew to the left, along with a good chunk of Europeans. And, of course, if you are conservative, then it would be your own personal bias.

1. NSG is made up mostly of a 18-30 demographic of college-educated tech-literate young adults.
2. College educated tech-literate adults are by an astounding margin Left-wing in leaning.
For a final reason. America has a seriously distorted sense of left-right in comparison to Europe.
America's politics is heaps rightist compared to the rest of the world. Probably something to do with the Cold War and all those Christians...

So you're saying that religious people are stupid. Yeah, that's nice...
Well you gotta admit, worshiping a King that will send you to burn for all of eternity if you touch yourself is pretty anti-freedom.
I fear a sudden Religious Spark that will set the powder keg NSG ablaze...
Well my point is, the upper right quadrant of the political compass is pretty empty on NSG. And this is because the upper right is typically the religous crowd. They are the ones that are typically for relative free markets and strongly authoritarian government.
Hresejnen wrote:This is funny. Just today, I was asking, "Why does NationStates seem to attract neo-Nazis?"
Really, the only group around here that I can see that's nearly completely pervasive is hard atheists. Not too many religious, or even spiritually-minded folks, and the majority of those that are are idiots. Quite sad.

I didn't know the nature of reality depended on what proportion of liberals and conservatives Nationstates has signed up.

Nearly everyone I see posting on here falls somewhere between mild liberals and radical ultra left-wing anarchists/communists.
A lot of europe is on here which is a main reason.
Yes, Europe, that socialist monolith that it is...

If I'm not mistaken, a hard atheist is someone whom actively believes that there is no God or gods.
A soft atheist, on the other hand, is simply a person who lacks a belief in God or gods.
It's an active vs. passive distinction and it actually does play itself out in different ways depending upon whom you are talking to.

But, we have a number of traditional conservatives that a quite outspoken, a very large contingent of various types of libertarians (mostly right-leaning), some communists and socialists, a loud group of anarcho-capitalists, some Nazis, some fascists, some authoritarians, etc, etc, etc.
We're actually pretty diverse.
And the liberals often go at each other hammer and tong on specific issues. We don't share a hivemind.

Scarsaw wrote:What's with this horrible, common, stereotype that those who are not liberal are not educated or intelligent? To be honest, I see more prejudices from the left on NS more than the right as it seems that those in the left rarely can see when they are acting closed minded; they just presume that because they are liberal in thought, they are automatically open minded...even when making assumptions, insults, and being closed minded to conservative thoughts.
