Who would win?

Just curious on people's opinion. In a war between the United States and China who would win? This could include allies such as Taiwan, South Korea, Japan for the U.S. or North Korea for China.

Explain your reasoning...

yes but the Chinese has immigration, crappy products and KUNG FU

An I would believe the US would get beaten thanks to the hatred they have gained around the world

We have way better immigration.

Why would the world favor fucking China over the U.S.?

No, the U.S. has far more allies--even Russia would support her. Britain would, France would, Canada would, Japan would, Australia would--any country in its right mind would.

Depends on the U.K.

Whatever the U.K. does, the commonwealth will follow.

Just the U.S. and China would be a bloodbath.

The U.S. may have more nukes but they dont have 10 minute instruction videos on how to use a Chinese military entrenching spade.
So if comes to a trench warfare situation, the U.S. might loose.

I of course would hope the U.S. would win...but what if this war occurred during a time when we have a president like the current one. Who lacks the balls to do anything decisive...I would be concerned for us.

I don't think either country would be stupid enough to directly invade the other.

id say it depends how we fight head to head on land or nuke to nuke warfare. nuke to nuke us land to land could go either way

He's pumping shitloads of troops into Afghanistan. He's not as "kind and gentle" as he likes to pretend he is.

Most likely it would start in the straits of Taiwan and thus would largely be naval...at least at first

Nah, it would start in the Middle East and Africa, methinks.

They wouldn't want to resort to nuclear warfare either.

I doubt the British would really and us Australians really don't give a shit about America anymore, but I guess we would,I think America owes us one they saved us from Japan, we helped them in Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan

Then again why would we Western countries War against each-other when the middle-east and Asia could topple us

Uh, yeah they would. This isn't another Cold War the OP is talking about, this is an official, declared and openly hostile "shooting" war between opponents both armed with nuclear weapons. The button would pushed quick as fuck to prevent the other guy from pushing it.

I have to agree with Parkus. Neither side would want it to progress too far such as an invasion of one by the other. I don't think it would remain conventional very long.

I think it'd depend on whether or not USA and China would fight each other directly, or go with Proxy Wars, like Korea.

The Commonwealth wouldn't join to "repay" the U.S.--they would be stupid to. Just like the U.S. didn't fight Japan to save the Commonwealth. We'd band together because China is the most oppressive major nation in the world (by fucking leaps and bounds), and God knows the entire West would feel threatened if they went to war with U.S.

Then again why would we Western countries War against each-other when the middle-east and Asia could topple us

You wouldn't ally with China purely because of the major ideological discrepancy. You can't even criticize the government over there without going to jail.

Yea I know, but I'm sure they'd used conventional forces first.
Nuclear weapons would be the last resort.
After all we do live in an anti-nuclear society, and the American government wouldn't really hit the button unless the war is supported by the people...
All depends.
They used the nuke with Japan because people supported this idea and didn't really think that there would be nuclear fallout etc.
They wouldn't dare use it on Vietnam because it was largely unpopular.

I think the Chinese might be the ones to hit the trigger, they don't have to worry with all those problems.

Well in that case, I say USA would win. We are technologically superior, we outspend China on our defenses, and we just have better war and battle planners. China may have a larger military when it comes to troop size, but I don't think that'd really be that big of a factor.

But we have to worry about the Chinese hitting the trigger, who obviously wouldn't give a shit about international opinion. And I guarantee this scenario has been considered by the Pentagon, just like virtually every other scenario imaginable, and the U.S. would not just sit-by waiting for China to launch. We know China would launch, and what's opinion compared to being the target of a nuclear assault? I would imagine most of our allies would support the launch, too, considering they would probably be targets.

And who in the world would ally with China? I don't even think Kim Jong is that mentally ill.

I doubt it. I believe most free nations would stand by the U.S. Because if China took down the U.S. then there really would be no one to stand up for the rest of the free world. The Chinese would roll right over the others. The free world would stand and fight I think.
